A/N: Written for Kensi's 40th birthday.
Kensi and Deeks go on vacation and Kensi really enjoys, ahem, her birthday.
"This is perfect," Kensi sighed, resting her head on Deeks' shoulder. He slid his hand down her back, the warmth easily permeating the thin material of her beach coverup and heating her skin.
In honor of her 40th birthday, Deeks had gifted her a stay in a tropical resort. They'd decided on the week leading up to her birthday and the one after. Originally, they'd planned to bring Rosa along, but she'd insisted on them going alone, not wanting to intrude. Instead, she was staying with Roberta, which was only a mildly terrifying prospect. More so for Deeks, who had reviewed an entire list of rules with his mom before they left.
When they arrived, they found out they'd been upgraded to a deluxe villa and package thanks to Eric and Nell. It was more extravagant than their normal weekends to Mammoth or Malibu, but Kensi didn't mind at the moment. She was enjoying every second. In a way, it made up for the honeymoon they never got around to.
Around them, several couples and families were spaced around the small cafe they'd chosen for today's brunch. Tucked into a corner booth, it was almost as good as being alone.
"Mm," Deeks responded. "Not that I don't love our life but waking up every morning to walk right out onto the beach and then ordering whatever we want for breakfast is pretty amazing."
"And you know what's even more amazing?"
"What?"
Kensi brushed her lips over his shoulder, loving the smooth feel of his bare skin. "Getting to spend all this time with you," she answered with a soft smile. Deeks grinned back, angling his head to kiss her, their mouths lingering for several long, delicious moments.
With his skin bronzed a golden color, and blonder highlights in his hair, Kensi found it hard to keep her hands off Deeks. She ran her hands up his bare back now, pausing on his shoulders for a few seconds to explore the smooth skin over broad muscles before sliding down his chest.
Deeks gasped as she palmed one of his pecs for a second, his head lifting. There was a gleam in his eyes, visible beneath his bangs.
"I thought I was supposed to be the one seducing you," he reminded her in a low tone that created interesting sensations in her stomach. Really they needed to leave soon before they overstepped the fairly lax rules and got kicked out for indecent behavior. "It is your birthday after all."
"Mm, well turns out that seducing you works in out pretty good too," Kensi told him, leaning in enough to reach his collar bone. She sucked at a patch of skin for several moments, feeling the steady increase of his pulse with every second. It made her grin.
Pulling back with a devious smile, Kensi took his hand and led him from the table, abandoning the remains of their fruit appetizer. They could get something more substantial later.
Somehow, they managed to keep their hands to themselves (well, for the most part) on the walk back to their villa, which overlooked a series of interconnected pools and outside cafes. As they reached the flight of stairs leading to the front patio, Deeks unexpectedly swung Kensi up into his arms, barely breaking his stride.
"What are you doing?" Kensi asked around surprised laughter.
"Never got a chance to properly do this when we got married," he explained, shouldering the door open, and straight into the master bedroom.
"Deeks!" Kensi yelped as he tossed her onto the bed. She tried to give him a reproving look, but they were both grinning way too hard for that, and ended up giggling again.
Balancing on her knees, Kensi settled her hands on Deeks' hips, swirling her thumbs over the skin just above his waistband. He chuckled breathlessly but didn't try to stop her wandering hands.
"You're having very dirty thoughts, Mrs. Deeks," he gasped out as she slipped her fingertips just inside his trunks. He looked down at her with an easy, happy smile.
"Constantly," she confirmed. Leaning forward, she paused just a few millimeters from his skin, looking him directly in the eye as she pressed an open-mouthed kiss above his pelvis.
Deeks groaned, head tipping back, eyes closed. Flushing with arousal at the sight, Kensi worked her way from one hip to the other, slowly easing his shorts a little lower, until Deeks was rocking in an uneven rhythm. She eased off with a final kiss.
Kensi settled back on her knees, taking in Deeks' flushed skin to the hard line of his erection visible through his trunks. She squeezed her thighs together as another wave of arousal ran through her, settling low in her stomach.
She stripped her coverup off, tossing it in the general direction of the sole chair in the room, and Deeks followed the move eagerly, gaze drifting over her newly revealed skin. His eyes were a deep, clear blue she only ever saw in moments like this.
"Should I keep going?" She ran her fingers over him, and Deeks jerked again. He chuckled, shaking his head.
"Maybe later." Drawing even with the bed, Deeks ran his fingertip across the top of her bikini. Then he cupped the back of her head, bringing her mouth to his in a searing kiss, which Kensi returned enthusiastically, tangling her fingers in his hair to draw him even closer.
Her bikini top fell away with a few deft tugs from Deeks' fingers and then she was almost blissfully naked against him. Moving backwards, Kensi tugged Deeks with her, relishing the familiar weight of his body over hers.
Kensi was breathless when their mouths finally parted. She sighed, back arching, and clung to his biceps, as Deeks took his turn exploring her body with mouth and hands.
"Mm, love you," Deeks murmured against the swell of her breast.
They were less hurried and frantic this time than when they first arrived on the island. Now they drew out every moment like they rarely had the time for, enjoying every touch, the movements gliding against each other.
Some unknown time later, Kensi gasped in small breaths, head falling to Deeks' chest as small tremors continued to run through her. Beneath her ear, she heard and felt his heart beating to match her own rhythm. Sighing, Kensi pressed a clumsy kiss to his sweat-damp skin, closing her eyes as she snuggled closer.
"Still got it," she muttered. Deeks' chest shuddered with a breathless laugh, and he slid one arm over her back.
"Damn right, you do."
Skin cooling with the gentle breeze blowing through the window, Kensi twined her leg between Deeks', and dozed off.
"Hey, baby," Deeks whispered, nudging her away.
"Mm, just a few more minutes," she begged, holding Deeks tighter, like she could physically keep him there in bed with her. He didn't make any attempt to move, but trailed his fingers through her hair, fiddling with the strands.
"I'd love to stay here forever, but our scuba diving session starts in an hour and half."
"Oh yeah." Kensi wrinkled her nose and squinted one eye open. The sun was still shining brightly through billowy white curtains over the windows so they must not have slept that long. "Why did we sign up for that again?"
"Because we didn't want to be the couple that spent their entire exotic vacation in bed?" Deeks answered with a shrug.
"Right." Sighing, she crawled up onto her elbows, and dropped a kiss on Deeks' lips. "Then you better go get me some food, or else I'm not going to make it," she said. Deeks held back his smirk admirably and started sliding out of bed.
"That I can do."
"Make sure you get at least two donuts," she called after him as he reached the door. "And put on some pants!"
A few hours later, Kensi and Deeks walked the path from their villa to one of the island restaurants. They'd spent two hours scuba diving, and despite Kensi's initial reluctance, she'd enjoyed it thoroughly. Deeks, water creature that he was, was completely in his element.
They'd since changed for dinner, Kensi in a sapphire blue halter dress and Deeks in white pants and a lighter blue shirt that emphasized his tan.
Since it was yet another beautiful day, they chose a table on the small patio outside the restaurant. Within a few minutes, their sever brought drinks and took their orders, leaving them alone once again.
"You are so beautiful," Deeks told her, folding his hands around hers atop the table.
"So are you," Kensi returned, and he shook his head, snorting.
"You know, I was going to make this really romantic speech," he continued, staring at her fondly. "But I guess I'll just say that I love you more than ever and everything about you."
"Even when I still leave towels on the floor and Reese's wrappers in the car?"
Deeks inclined his head, debating her question.
"I wouldn't say I love it per se, but it's a part of you, and I love you. I'm not sure what I'd do if you stopped being messy altogether," he said.
"That would be weird," Kensi agreed. They were silent for a moment and then Deeks reached into his pants pocket and removed a small box.
"And as a symbolic representation of that love, Rosa and I got you this." He placed it atop her plate, his voice dipping a little lower.
"You already got me the best trip of my life; I don't think I need anything else."
"Just open it, Baby."
Kensi did as he suggested, her curiosity getting the better of her. She gasped at the three silver hearts linked together on a thin chain.
"Oh, Deeks…" she felt tears fill her eyes and leaned over to hug him.
"I love it."
Deeks answering grin was blinding. He squeezed her tightly, then came around to her side and carefully removed the delicate necklace, linking it around her neck. It settled just above her breastbone.
"Happy Birthday, Kensi," Deeks whispered, kissing her cheek. "We all love you so much."
A/N: I know this was equal parts cheesy and smutty. Hope you enjoyed!
I always like to think that Eric and Nell would use their good fortune to take good care of their friends, especially the ones that gave Eric so very many loans (yeah I'm still not over that completely). I know they each got $10,000 last season, but…I think he can afford a bit more.
