FLUFF. EXB.
FOREVER
The first time he kissed me was in front of an extravagant display of fireworks on The Fourth of July.
It was our first date. We were 19-year-old sophomores in College, introduced by mutual friends.
From that moment, our own fireworks sparked, sending shocks of electricity vibrating through us the second our eyes met.
It was the best night of my life. We spent all night lost in each other, getting to know one another, and that day I knew I had found my soulmate.
Four years later and we're at the same party that started everything.
Edward's behind me, arms wrapped around me, as we both watch the show.
"Do you remember our first date?" he asks, face snuggled in the crook of my neck.
"How can I not?" I reply gently, lost in memories.
"You took my breath away. You were the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. I fell in love with you instantly," Edward whispered, lips brushing my ear.
Edward has always been so romantic—a chivalrous gentleman.
Before I can respond to his heart-pulsing words, the next set of fireworks take my breath away.
The words 'MARRY ME?' glitter in the night sky. My heart warms for whoever they're intended for. That's the most enthralling way to propose, to profess your unconditional love.
My eyes water at the sentiment; I've always been a hopeless romantic. I turn around to look for the lucky woman and go into shock.
Edward is bent down on one knee, staring up at me with the most gorgeous ring I've ever seen shining from his hands. All the noise and movement around me fades as I only focus on Edward. My hands immediately cover my mouth as a gasp escapes my lips; tears rushing down my face. My body responds before my brain does.
"Bella, this day four years ago was the best day of my life. The moment our eyes met, I knew you were the one for me. I promise to cherish you and treat you like the Queen you are for the rest of our lives. You are my soulmate, and I want to spend forever with you. Would you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?" he proposes, his eyes full of emotions and glistening with tears.
I'm finally able to conjure up words as I fall to my knees, throwing my arms around him, pushing us into the sand. "Yes! I'll marry you!" I cover his face with kisses.
Sparks light up the midnight sky. The sounds of fireworks shooting and cheers from our family and friends the soundtrack to our proposal.
"I love you so much baby," I cry. His lips meet mine as our tears blend together, tasting them as we kiss.
"I love you more than you'll ever know. I can't believe you're going to be my wife," Edward breathes against my lips.
No fireworks could ever compare to the spark that electrifies us and connects us as one—forever.
