Yeah, fuck it. There you go.

It was a very calm day in a remote village in the middle of a very thick jungle. Their houses were mostly built into the unbelievably tall trees, and connected in between with bridges built with the same wood provided by the extensive jungle.

Given that it was a resting day, mostly everyone was free, enjoying time with their families or friends. The children ran through the bridges and back while chasing each other, their parents watching them from the distance while calmly talking.

It was an older woman who first noticed something weird in the sky. She had been taking care of her granddaughter, who was playing among the bigger group of children. She was sitting on a nearby bench under the shadow of a smaller branch of the tree, feeding the blue birds that got close to her when noticing her presence.

She looked up, checking if there was any sign for the sunny weather to change. It was then that she noticed a black light appear over the sky, which swiftly turned into a blue, and then purple light that only got more intense and bigger. It took her a while to understand what was happening: something was falling from the sky, directly at them.

By the time she began screaming and warning everyone, some other adults had noticed the presence of the approaching object, but had not yet reacted. Naturally, most people panicked and tried to get to their children. However, their reactions were too slow, and many parents could not get to their kids on time.

The object crashed at intense speeds, destroying everything on its way, including one of the giant trees. Several people were hit, and therefore instantly killed. The object finally stopped when hitting the floor, leaving a crater on it.

Lots of smoke was produced by the place of the crash, but nobody dared get close to it. That part of the village was evacuated, since the leaders of the village feared it could be an invasion. But they were wrong.

When the smoke dissipated less than half an hour later, all that was left in the middle of the crater, was a small green mass of cells. A small nucleus.

Several months after the crash, the damages the infrastructure suffered were repaired. The village looked as if nothing had ever happened, except for the whole that crossed the middle of one of the bigger trees, and the crater on the floor not so far from it.

Nobody had gotten close to the crater, and the belief that approaching it could cause bad luck for the rest of a person's life became common. This did not let them notice that the small mass of cells that once crashed there, had now become an entire humanoid silhouette.

With the light of the sun hitting his face directly, he began to wake up. He felt normal, as if nothing had happened. Which was impressively good for someone who had almost been entirely disintegrated, up to an unicellular level.

It took a couple of hours for full conscience to return to him, but once he got it back, he erratically tried to locate himself. Unable to find anything familiar in the jungle, he flew upwards at inhumane speeds, destroying a bridge of the village, once again.

The only thing people saw after the bridge fell, was an intense yellow light flashing their sight as it crossed the sky. It was so fast, that the villagers with the most skilled eyes barely managed to see it before being dazzled by it.

In less that a couple of hours, he had crossed the continent. And again, nothing familiar.

Desperation grew, and so he finally landed on a nearby mountain. Upon doing so, he checked for familiar energy signals. His shock was great when, instead of what he knew as Ki, he felt energies of a different nature.

It was then that he remembered what had happened to him. He remembered the last seconds of his battle against Gohan, and so he made an assumption. Maybe one that not even himself could believe. He was in another world. But so should the son of Goku.

He sat down and once again sensed the energy signals of the entire world, searching the most similar to those he knew.

A grin appeared over his face, a wide one, when he sensed one. Not just similar, but identical to Ki. It was Ki. And it was a very familiar energy signal, as it was the one of the boy who defeated him. The son of Goku, Son Gohan.

He stood up, and in the blink of an eye, he propelled himself into the sky. He flew at supersonic speeds towards his new objective. But before he arrived, he realized something.

'If he beat me once, he is going to do it again. If I don't get stronger, I'm going to die.' He stopped.

As he checked his surroundings, he noticed he was flying above a village, one covered in clouds given the height it had been built on. For now, he decided to stay near that village, as it was not that far from where Gohan was.

He descended to the floor, and entered a deep cave inside one of the many mountains that surrounded the big village. That would be his hideout for now.

Inside a purple energy cube, a namekian stood next to an angel. To be more specific, the angel was that assigned to universe 7, Whis, and as such, he wore the traditional angel uniform for that universe.

The namekian wore a white cape above his purple gi, as well as a white turban. He was around the same height as the angel, who seemed slightly taller than the namekian because of his haircut. However, both were well past the two meters.

The purple cube was travelling at the speed of light through the universe, while dragon balls with the size of planets had been attached to the back of it. They were heading for an empty space, where summoning the dragon would not cause immense disturbances.

"My condolences on the death of Goku and Vegeta," said Whis while still commanding the cube. "I have not yet been able to express them to the rest."

"Eh, doesn't matter. At least they died doing what they loved the most." Replied the namekian, his lack of expression finally giving in to a small grin.

"Fighting each other." The angel softly laughed. "Saiyans, huh?"

"They lived quite a lot, but they knew it was coming regardless." His face once again shifted to a serious mood.

"They challenged the limits we believed one of their species could reach. They aged slower than usual, and reached over the hundred years of age." Whis remarked. "They were always pushing the boundaries."

Piccolo nodded. "And they went out in a spectacular battle, even though the two were as elder as a saiyan could get."

"And, since you haven't told me yet, what brings you to look for the dragon balls?"

"You owed us a favor." Coldly replied the namekian, though being unable to convince the angel.

"We did, but that was not my question." Whis explained, as he was aware that Piccolo understood exactly what he was asking.

"I just want to find out if something is possible."

Whis grinned, as he finally stopped the energy cube. "Well, everything is possible with these magical artifacts!"

"Last time we tried to use them, they weren't able to solve our problem."

The angel placed his hand on his chin, while the dragon balls placed themselves into a circle in the middle of the empty space.

"I think I remember that one, but oh well, now that we have arrived, let's just try the new thing!" He smiled as he moved the cube closer to the dragon balls. He pronounced some words in the language of the gods, which caused the dragon balls to shine with an intense golden light.

From the shining magical artifacts, which had the size of small planets, a golden dragon emerged. As it appeared, the light became intense enough to blind any mortal eyes. However, the cube created by the angel blocked said light, preventing the namekian from losing his sight.

Once its physical form was manifested, the two beings standing inside the cube witnessed its size, similar to that of a galaxy. It moved his head closer to the cube, to properly hear the wishes of the person who summoned it. Only its head, was the size of a planet, while its eyes were the size of a continent back in the Earth.

Piccolo never got used to such a sight, and so he was intimidated. Whis noticed this and found it funny, but kept his laughs on his insides, not wanting to seem disrespectful.

"So, what is the wish, exactly?"

"I would like to know if it is possible to send something or someone to another realm of existence. I know it is impossible to bring something from there, but I wanted to know if it has the ability to send something there from here." Explained the namekian, as serious as ever.

"I see." Whis nodded, and proceeded to translate the question into the language of the gods. The dragon replied in unintelligible noises for the namekian, but something perfectly understandable for the angel, who nodded many times during the short response of the legendary creature.

It seemed like an eternity for Piccolo, even though it was just a few seconds. It had been a long time since he ever found himself being that nervous.

"It seems like it should technically be within its capabilities, unless it's a planet or something bigger." Explained Whis, while not turning his back on the dragon. "So, what would the wish be?"

"I would like it to send me to the same realm Son Gohan was sent to more than ninety years ago, along with all the objects I currently hold." He declared, crossing his arms.

Whis nodded, and once again translated the message into the language of gods to ask if it was possible. This time, the dragon gave a definitive answer, a positive one, about the possibilities of it, along with a warning.

"The dragon warns me that once you are transported there, it is most likely it will be impossible to bring you back to this realm of existence with any method known to it. Are you sure you want to be sent there?"

Piccolo had taken that possibility on count quite some time ago, and therefore, he had discussed it with himself enough. "I have no more duties here, and with Goku dead, I also don't think I have ties strong enough to keep me here. I am ready."

"So be it." Whis confirmed the decision of the namekian, and with it, the wish. The dragon nodded and the golden light that surrounded its body turned into a similar tone of red to those of its eyes. Piccolo began to be sucked into seemingly nothing, which scared the angel, thinking he could also get sucked into the invisible portal. However, it did not affect him.

The namekian, on the other hand, suffered immense pain from this. To his luck, this was quick, and soon, he found himself somewhere else. And as Whis was left alone, he thanked the dragon, and left as soon as the dragon balls were once again dispersed all throughout the twin universes.

Screaming in pain, he was transported to the sky of a very familiar planet. He did not have the chance to give it a proper look until he hit the floor, but upon standing up, he made sure to carefully inspect his surroundings.

It was just like the earth back home. Specifically, the place he currently was in had lots of resemblance to a forest from his home planet. He immediately checked for any energy signals near to his own location, and was immensely impressed by the difference of the energies there compared to back in his own universe.

That specific detail confirmed to him that the wish had been granted successfully. And so, he began his search for that boy that went missing so many years ago.
