Jonathan Arc considers himself an early riser, always getting up at six am no matter the day. So imagine his surprise when he finds his son already up and in the hidden room. "Jaune, what are you doing here?" John asked.
"Reading obviously," was Jaunes's reply.
"Ok, but I meant, why are you up so early?" John asked again.
"Oh, that's all right. You said I could read these books tomorrow, so I woke up early to read," Jaune responded, not even looking up from the book he was reading.
Giving him a deadpan look, John asks, "Jaune, when did you wake up?"
"Idunno," Jaune responds.
Sigh, "Jaune come with me to get some breakfast." John commands with a deadpan expression.
The two are now in the kitchen. "Hi, mom," Jaune exclaims, seeing his mom up and ready to make breakfast.
"Hm, oh hello Jaune, aren't you up early." Arturia Arc responded after seeing who called her.
"The little tyke woke up before I did," John said while ruffling the top of Jaune's head.
"My, that's early. What's so special about today, Jaune?" Arturia asked while preparing the stove.
"Nothing. I just wanted to read the new books I found in the room," Jaune responded.
"Your father told me about the room and books you found yesterday. Be careful. Those books were hidden for a reason, whether good or bad, we don't know, so wait till your dad is done looking over them." Arturia told her son.
"Ok, but can I read the ones he's already looked at?" Jaune asks.
"That's up to your father to decide," Arturia says, looking over at John, who was prepping the coffee machine.
"I've already told him he could read those," John said while pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"Hey, mom," and all its variations were heard when John and Arturia's eight daughters came into the kitchen for breakfast.
The eldest Bordeaux Arc mostly wore red and was very caring over her siblings but also fierce when protecting those she cared about.
Next was Saphron Arc, who mostly wore orange and was teasing her younger siblings and the best around her children's house.
Then the twins Lapis and Lazuli Arc are the dynamic duo of the family, wearing matching outfits and constantly bouncing off each other.
Magenta Arc was the type of person who punched first and asked questions later but only when she needed to.
Olive Arc is the outgoing and adventurous one who is always looking for the next adventure.
Azure Arc is the shy and intelligent one of the family but is also very modest about her abilities.
All came into the kitchen in varying states of awakeness. Sitting down and getting ready for breakfast, greeting both John and Jaune. The awake ones ask Jaune why he's up so early.
"So I could read," yeah, that makes sense, they all thought in unison.
"So, girls, do you have any plans today?" John asked.
"Dad, it's too early to decide what to do today," responded Bordeaux.
"Besides, we just had a girl's day yesterday. I think we should relax today," Saphron added.
"I'm going to the library," Jaune said while putting away his plate.
"I thought I was the bookworm here," Azure muttered while eating some toast.
"So you guys keep mentioning this room in the library that Jaune found. What's so special about the books in it?" Asked Olive hoping for something thrilling.
"As far as I'm aware most of the books were written many generations ago. They tell stories of members of our family performing great things. However, I don't recognize any of the names in the books," John explained.
"Realy, that means that either the stories are false or the Arc's are real but using fake names," Azure pointed out.
"Yes, I thought about that too, but the feats performed by the Arc's in the stories are far too outrageous to be considered real," John stated, shooting down that theory.
"Like what?" asked Lapis.
"One story claims that six Arc's came together and used a martial art called 'Spinjitzu' and a technique called the 'Tornado Of Creation.' And used to make an entire village that was later named after them called 'Arcadia,'" John informed the girls.
"Wow, that is ridiculous," Saffron said, wanting to add her own two cents.
"I thought so too, but there are some that could have happened, but I'm sure that most are just stories made to inspire the next generations of Arcs. However, that emphasizes the question of why they were hidden, to begin with." John said, reminding them that the stories were in a closed section of the library.
Meanwhile, at the Library
Grabbing 'The Book Of Spinjitzu.' Jaune arrives at the room.
"Alright, let's see if I can finish this one so I can start a new one." He began reading 'after the creation of the continent, Ninjago. He detailed the land using his new weapons, but there must be darkness in light. From the shadow of The First Spinjitzu Master, the Overlord was born a being meant to balance out the light of The First Spinjitzu Master.'
"So what is that one about? I only skimmed it, so I'd like a more detailed summary," John asked.
"Oh, um, well, I haven't gotten too far into it, but it's been mostly the beginning of everything. And focusing on someone called The First Spinjitzu Master," Jaune explained.
"Well, that sounds like an interesting read. But I came to tell you that I believe the books to be only stories and safe to read. But I still need to check the scrolls." John told Jaune.
"Cool" Jaune exclaimed.
"I wouldn't get too excited. Your sisters have decided to stay home today, and it's only a matter of time before they show up to make you play with them." John told Jaune, getting a smile at seeing his son pout at the statement.
"Well, better read as much as I can before that happens," Jaune responded, returning to reading. John smiled at his son before going further into the room and grabbing a scroll to investigate.
