Still Month Nine
Come on. We have to go.
Why?
You know why
I'm asking why Remnant did this.
I don't know
Will there ever be another?
-? "?"
The three fighters were outside as per usual training in the course. Magenta and Olive were training against each other, testing their Auras and how they work in practice rather than theory. Jaune was rushing through the course, going over the planks dodging the swords watching out for the dummies, and at the same time, using a wooden training sword to parry the training dummies.
"So, have you decided on a weapon yet?" Magenta asks Olive in between punches and jabs.
"I have. I want to try and use two short swords," Olive responds, dodging and parrying Magenta's attacks.
"Oh, that's neat. Did you have any inspiration for your decision?" Magenta asks, grabbing Olive in a hold.
"Yeah, the story of Lilly and Grief Bringer," Olive responds, shoving her elbow into Magenta, freeing herself.
"I read that one too. It's a good one, and that Spinjitzu Burst was awesome," Magenta says, faking a right before going for a left hook.
"Yup, so I chose to recreate the two swords she was famous for," Olive says, predicting Magenta's moves and dodges, going for an uppercut.
Before Magenta could respond, a loud ringing noise came from the course and loud cheering.
"Huh, what was that?" Magenta asks.
"No way he finally did it. Come on!" Olive says, rushing towards the course.
"Did what!?" Magenta asks again, following Olive.
"Complete the course!" Olive says, getting to the end of the course and finding Jaune panting and leaning on his sword with a smile.
"I did It!" Jaune says weakly, raising one of his hands into the sky.
"You did it!" Olive says, cheering and hugging Jaune.
"Wait, you guys managed to have the course announced when it's finished?" Magenta asks, a bit confused but excited.
"Yup,"
"Pretty much,"
"I need to look at those blueprints!" Magenta says exasperated, "But congrats, how's it feels to beat the training course finally," she asks with a smile.
"Fulfilling and painful, ow," Jaune says, rubbing one of his cheeks.
"Well, come on, I think we still have some 'Healtea' left," Olive tells him while holding his arm, dragging him inside.
Inside
Magenta prepares the tea while Olive and Jaune sit down and talk.
"So now that you rest and talk a bit more, what should we do to celebrate?" Olive asks.
"I don't think this calls for a celebration," Jaune says, still panting from the course.
"Of course, we should celebrate this nine months in the making!" Magenta says from the kitchen.
"It is true, son, this is a major accomplishment in your training," John says. He was entering the dining room, watching the three trains.
"Hey, dad, were you watching us?" Jaune asks, a bit weirded out.
"Yes, I was. I'm not going to train you all until the twelve months are up, but that doesn't mean I can't observe your training," John says, not finding any flaws in his logic.
"Creepy," Olive whispers to Jaune.
"Jaune got the tea here," Magenta says, bringing in the teapot and cup.
"Thanks," Jaune said, pouring himself a cup blowing on it, and taking a sip.
In curiosity, John was in shock, seeing the minor injuries Jaune had on his face and body gradually disappear, and Jaune looked more energized.
"Ahh, I love 'Healtea.' It's the best after a long training session," Jaune says, putting the cup down.
"I hear ya, so how are we celebrating?" Magenta asks.
"Well, my fighting style has always been for an arming sword, so I was hoping to be able to have Crocea Mors," Jaune says.
"You want to use the Arc family relic as your weapon?" John asks, not sure why his son would want that old thing.
"Yup, I've wanted to use a sword since I was a kid, and after reading about Julius and his sword, I've wanted to use Crocea Mors. That's why my fighting style has only focused on swordsmanship," Jaune explains with a smile.
"I see it is your decision. I will allow you to train and use the Arc family sword. Now come, it is within the armory," John says, getting up and waving to the trio to follow him.
The four walk into the armory and see all the weapons the Arc family has collected, forged, and salvaged throughout the generations. From swords, axes, bows, crossbows, spears, halberds, and more weapons than anyone thinks is necessary.
The simple arming sword passed down from generation to generation is said to have been forged and wielded by the first Arc. Croea Mors, its golden blade, has survived many battles and clashes with no visible scratches. The sword's guard is made from the same metal as the blade. The handle is wrapped in a blue cloth ending in a yellow pommel.
"This is it, Crocea Mors, the sword of the Arcs, one that was made famous and named by your grandfather Magnus Arc during the Great War," John says, taking the sword out of its case.
"It's beautiful," Jaune says, staring at the sword dreamily. Magenta whistles at the sword in all its glory while Olive stares at it wanting to know more about the sword.
"Yes, it truly is but enough of that by the power invested in me as the current head of the Arc family, I now bestow this sword to you, Jaune Arc," John says dramatically, handing Jaune the sword.
"I accept this responsibility, and with the honor of every Arc before me, those who used and those who didn't, I swear on the name of every Arc I will use this sword to become a hero," Jaune responds in an equally dramatic tone.
"Did they have to go this dramatic?" Magenta whispers and asks Olive, who was staring at the whole encounter strangely.
"I think it's because most Arcs act like knights," Olive responds, a bit weirded out at the dramatics.
"We can hear you," both father and son tell the two sisters, "Yeah, it's really killing the mood here," Jaune tells them with John nodding his head at his son's words.
"Sorry?" the two sisters say, still unsure how to respond to the situation.
"You should be," John said in a disappointed tone, "To think my daughters wouldn't understand the importance of the sword ceremony," he added, wiping a nonexistent tear from his face.
"Truly a tragedy," Jaune says, looking downwards and shaking his head.
"I-I can't tell if they're being serious or not," Magenta says, staring at the two.
"I can't either," Olive responds.
"Well, that's enough of that, so son, how does it feel to have Crocea Mors?" John asks Jaune with a jolly expression.
"It's lighter than I expected, but at the same time, it feels right," Jaune says, holding the sword and taking a few swings to get a feel for it.
"That means that Crocea Mors is yours to wield," John says, seeing his son swing the sword.
"Yeah, I use fists, so all swords kinda look the same to me," Magenta says, unsure of any differences between Crocea Mors and Jaune's training sword.
"HERESY!" The father-son duo yells at Magenta, forcing her to take a step back.
"Well, now that's done, good luck training, son. I just remembered I have to pick something up for your mother," the eldest Arc said, exiting the room.
"So that was a thing," Olive says before turning towards Jaune, "Want to go back to training?" she asks, wanting to see if the hype was worth it or not.
"Yeah, after that weirdness, I need to do something to take my mind off it," Magenta says, wanting to leave the room.
"Well, I have to test the sword," Jaune says, grabbing a leather strap and shedding the sword onto his back.
"Well, what are we waiting for!" Magenta says, rushing outside to the training course.
"Yeah, I want to be the second person to finish it!" Olive says, following after Magenta.
"Wait for me!" Jaune says, rushing off Crocea Mors glowing slightly red.
'Hmm, Julius, your descendant now wields the same sword you did, and it's already reacting to his elemental radiation; he has truly progressed beyond my expectations,' a strange bird thought, watching from the window.
Outside
The three siblings all line up at the course entrance and prepare for a race between the three siblings. Magenta wrapped her knuckles and put on some light gauntlets, Olive took two identical short swords and held them in a reverse grip, and Jaune unsheaths Crocea Mors holding it in his right hand.
"Ready!" Magenta starts.
"Set!" Olive continues.
"GO!" Jaune finishes.
The siblings rush in, dodging the planks like it was second nature. For the second section, Olive falls behind her fighting style, which is more suited for defensive stances, causing her to lose speed. Magenta has a more offensive style and lets her keep up with Jaune in his slice and dice style. Unfortunately, her style is focused on one-on-one combat, causing her to slow down the more training dummies appear. Jaune can duck weave, cut down anything the course throws at him, and get to the final part. The randomness of this section throws Jaune off for a bit, but he pushes forward.
'Come on! Remember, Jaune ninja never quit! Just jump up, kick back, whip around, and spin!' Jaune thinks to himself, shouting out a phrase he rereads time and time in his stories, "Ninja-go!" and with all the strength he has, his eyes turn red, and before he knows it, a bright light envelopes him, and the light begins to spin around Jaune in a tornado of energy.
Jaune is unsure what is happening. Everything has slowed down, and before he knows it, he's reached the end of the course again. Jaune was confused before a sudden jolt of exhaustion hit him, but he shrugged it off.
"Hey, looks like we have to catch up a bit more," Magenta says, walking up to Jaune, having been knocked out of the course.
"Yeah, I need to work on my offense more," Olive says, a bit gloomy at being the first to be knocked out.
"Anyways, twice in one day, either that sword has some hack we don't know about, or you're just that good, Jaune," Magenta says, looking at Jaune, who was staring at himself.
"Hey, Remnant to Jaune, you good?" Magenta asks Jaune, waving her hand in front of his eyes.
"Huh, oh oh, what are you talking about?" Jaune says, coming out of his daze, his eyes back to their usual blue.
"I asked how you managed to complete the course again after only once?" Magenta asks again.
"Oh, um, well…,' Jaune trails off 'should I tell them the truth? No, not yet,' he thinks before continuing, "the last part was pretty much the same as last time, so I used the same movements. I don't think it'll happen again, though," Jaune tells them the lie as best he can.
"Huh, I guess we should ask Azur if we can fix that," Olive says, listening to the conversation.
"Yeah, we probably should, but we can do that tomorrow. Hey, Olive wants some help on your offense?" Jaune asks, already prepared with Crocea Mors in hand.
"Yes, please," Olive responds.
"Well, while you guys are doing that, I'm going to take a crack at the course again," Magenta says, rushing off.
"Well, come on," Jaune says, leading Olive to the small plot they use to train against each other.
The three siblings spent the rest of that day training. Jaune shows Olive different sword stances to use and how to use each sword for defense or offense at the same time. Magenta would continuously use the training course, never completing it but coming close.
Later That Month
The three sibling Arcs were at the marketplace.
"What do you mean you've been forgetting to increase the dust in your weights!?" Jaune asks his two sisters with a deadpan expression.
"Well, I forgot they were there," Magenta says sheepishly, pressing her index fingers against each other.
"Yeah, I kinda thought they were just normal bracelets," Olive says, scratching the back of her head, not being able to look Jaune in the eye.
"Ugh, that explains why I haven't seen any improvements from you two," Jaune says, shaking his head in disappointment.
"Hey, I don't see you improving anymore either," Magenta points out in annoyance.
"Yeah," Olive adds, also annoyed at Jaune.
"I'm wearing seventy-pound weights right now. I will increase it to eighty pounds if you can't do the math. That's two hundred and eighty on my body," Jaune says, holding up his arm and showing his weights.
"Oh…," Magenta responds, trailing off, unable to find a counter.
"Um… so where's that huntsman store again," Olive says, wanting to change the topic.
Rolling his eyes, "This way," Jaune says, leading the trio to the store.
The three enter the store. Magenta and Olive are still shocked at the number of goods in the store and the extensive supply of essential items used by huntsmen and huntresses.
"Oh hey Jaune, long time no see, so what can I do for ya," an employee says, walking up to the trio.
"Oh hey Chuck-" ("still not my name,") "we're here to increase the weight of our training weights," Jaune said, gesturing to his training weights.
"Well, alright, I'm going to need the training weights, and I'll be back momentarily," 'Chuck' says, taking the weights from the trio before leaving.
"So, what do we do now?" Magenta asks, tapping her foot.
"You can look around. I'll wait here," Jaune says, "just don't cause a sense," he tells her.
"Alright, let's go, Olive," Magenta says, dragging Olive behind her.
"Alright, Jaune, here are the three sets of weights. That'll be 120 Lein, and with your frequent customer discount, that's 96 Lien. Will that be all?" 'Chuck' asks, holding the weights in a case.
"Yup, thanks, Chuck," Jaune says with a smile, grabbing the weights.
"You do know that's not my name, right?" 'Chuck' asks with a raised eyebrow.
"I know, but it sounds better than Jeff," Jaune responds, handing 'Chuck' the Lein cards.
"What will we do with you?" 'Chuck,' says with a smile shaking his head and handing Jaune his receipt.
"Well, see ya, Chuck," Jaune says, taking his receipt, 'now to find Magenta and Olive,' he thinks, walking around the store.
"Oh, there you are," Jaune says, walking up to the two and finding them looking at the weapon accessory section.
"Oh hey Jaune, what's up," Magenta says, seeing Jaune approach.
"Got the weights," he says, holding up the case of weights, "Whatcha looking at?" he asks, turning towards Olive.
"Oh, I saw a few wet stones and a magazine for different types of swords," Olive says, picking up a magazine.
"You know we have books on the same subject back home, right?" Jaune asks, 'not as good as Crocea Mors,' he thinks, looking at a few of the mechashift weapons on display.
"Yeah, besides the dust, we have a lot of similar weapons back at the armory," Olive says, putting the magazine down.
"Come on, you two need to train with these weights if you want to get stronger," Jaune tells the two, leading them out of the store.
"fine,"
"Alright,"
The two sisters replied, and the trio returned to the home to continue their training Olive and Magenta struggled to adjust to their new weight, but Jaune was able to adapt faster. The three would race in the course when they could. Jaune would always get the furthest; he kept trying to do something the sisters couldn't understand.
Nearing The End Of The Month
It was close to midnight, and Jaune was still outside training at the course. 'Come on, come on, I did it one, I can do it again!' Jaune thought about rushing through the course. Crocea Mors in hand slicing, dicing, dodging, and weaving, repeating the motions that let him perform Spinjitzu. He pushes forward, but unlike the first time, his eyes remain the same, and no energy tornado forms. Jaune finds himself at the end of the course, still not understanding why his Spinjitzu hasn't resurfaced.
'Why! Won't! This! Work!' Jaune thought, lashing out at the surrounding area with Crocea Mors slicing a tree down. 'This isn't enough. I need a greater challenge, but what?' he thinks, taking heavy breaths.
"The Grimm," Jaune says, answering his own question. Jaune continued to grow in all his training and wasn't as challenged as he thought. That was why Jaune let Olive and Magenta train with him to give him the challenge he desperately wanted, but they were so far behind that it wasn't enough. Jaune would search for Grimm to fight tomorrow, knowing he was too exhausted to fight correctly right now.
The Next Day
Jaune got up early and got dressed in his usual training uniform. To have a cover story about where he was going. At the bottom, top were a few books and scrolls. The armor would cover his chest, parts of his stomach, back, knee pads, and shoulder plates, strapping Crocea Mors to his back.
Heading downstairs for breakfast, "I'm going out to the tea shop and won't be back till the afternoon," Jaune told his family before leaving.
"Oh wait, I kinda wanted to go with him," Olive said, seeing the door close.
"Yeah, I don't think any of us have been to this tea shop," Magenta adds.
"Well, come on, let's follow him," Olive says, grabbing Magenta and rushing after Jaune.
"Those three sure have gotten close," Saphron said, drinking some cocoa.
"I know, isn't it adorable," Bordeaux says, visiting on break from college.
With Jaune, Magenta, and Olive
Jaune ran out to the town's border and climbed the wall jumping over it and going into the woods.
"Where is he going?" Magenta whispers and asks Olive.
"I don't know," Olive whispers back.
"Really? you don't have some hidden training thing out in the woods?" Magenta asks again.
"None that I'm aware of," Olive responds.
"Let's follow and see," Magenta says, climbing the wall with Olive, both keeping a bit behind Jaune to avoid raising suspicion.
Jaune goes into the woods and removes his backpack, taking out the armor and putting it on.
'Where'd he get that armor,' Magenta thought.
'Doesn't he know these woods are dangerous?' Olive worries.
The two continued to follow, nervousness and fear welling within them, these feelings attracting unwanted attention.
'Hmm, the Grimm typically doesn't come close to the town. 'Jaune thought, going to have to go further out, using his senses to detect any Grimm.
Jaune went deeper and deeper into the forest with little care for his safety, not knowing his sisters were following him. Both start to worry for Jaune seriously.
"Alright, Grimm, come out, wherever you are!" Jaune calls out, attempting to attract any nearby Grimm.
"What is he doing!" Olive yells in fear.
"I don't know, but we have to stop him!" Magenta says before the two sisters rush towards Jaune.
Now overwhelmed with fear, anxiety, paranoia, and worry, the two sisters rush at Jaune, calling out his name.
"JAUNE!" two voices call out. He turns towards them, and his eyes widen in fear.
Running towards his sisters, they notice Jaunes's expression and realize that there's a Grimm behind them. Behind his sisters on all four paws is an Ursa Major. Before he knows what happens, he rushes towards it, unsheathing Crocea Mors.
Jaune signals towards them to dodge to the side. The two leap in separate directions as Jaune rushes in and slashes at the Ursa, stunning it before he targets its arms and legs. Unfortunately, the Ursa recovers and goes to swipe at Jaune. He blocks using Crocea Mors and stumbles back.
The first of his sisters to react is Magenta grabbing an enormous branch and activating her Aura. She rushes in and bashes the Ursa on its head as soon as it's done swiping at Jaune. Unseen by any of the three siblings is a violet light coating, both Magenta and the branch, and when it impacted the Ursa, it did far more damage than it should've been able to.
Jaune, seeing the opening, goes for another slash at the Ursas arm and manages to put enough strength into it to slice the arm clear off. The Ursa stands on its hind legs and lets out a deafening roar causing the three to take a few steps back. As it enters a blind rage and charges at Jaune, Olive, finally reacting, pushes Jaune away, activates her Aura, and takes the attack.
"OLIVE!" both Jaune and Magenta call out. The branch that Magenta holds starts to glow brighter. At the same time, Jaunes eyes turn red as Crocea Mors starts to glow red.
"That's it!" Jaune yells as he charges at the Ursa, and flames engulf him, his eyes glowing a bright red.
"NINJA-GO!" he yells as if on instinct, and he starts spinning, and the world slows down around him. Knowing what this is, he charges at the now slow Ursa and Crocea Mors, glowing red and flames emerging from it slashes its other arm before it can even react. He slices off its head in one swoop. After that, the energy that surrounded Jaune fades, and he stands there tired and breathing heavily.
Magenta, who rushed to check on Olive, found her. Her Aura took a significant hit, but other than that, she was fine in pain but fine nevertheless. Looking on at Jaune, 'was that his semblance, but he doesn't have his Aura unlocked,' she thinks, trying to rationalize what just happened.
Jaune, recovering slightly, goes towards Magenta and Olive to check on them. "Ar-are you *huff* two alright?" he asks, using Crocea Mors as a walking stick, his eyes remaining a dull red.
"I'm good, but I don't know about Olive," Magenta responds, holding Olive over her shoulder.
"I'll live, but what was that?" Olive asks with a bit of a wince in her voice.
"I don-" *growl* Before Jaune could finish, he was cut off by a pack of Beowulfs that appeared likely sensing the negative emotions.
"Oh crap," Jaune says before lifting Crocea Mors, "stay behind!" he tells the two standing in front of them. Concentrating on the feelings he felt before and like before, Crocea Mors starts to glow, and flames erupt from the blade.
"Olive, can you stand?" Magenta asks, a bit desperate to help Jaune but not wanting to leave her sister alone.
"Y-yeah, I th-thinks so," Olive says, struggling to stand, her Aura flaring, helping her stand.
"Hold on," Magenta says, grabbing onto Olive and climbing a tree leaving her there to be safe "stay here," she tells Olive before jumping back down and grabbing the branch before going to help Jaune.
Jaune was slashing at the Grimm using its new flames to help him with its burning effect. Jaune was about to get slashed in the back by a Beowulf before Magenta arrived and bashed it with the branch, and stood back to back with Jaune.
"Where Olive!?" He asks, slashing at a Beowulf.
"I put her on top of a tree!" Magenta responds before bashing another Beowulf on the side of the head.
"What were you two even doing out here!?" Jaune asks before sending a small burst of fire from Crocea Mors.
"The better question is, why are you out here!?" Magenta responds, finally breaking her branch on a Beowulf before using the two halves like swords.
"I asked you to answer first!" Jaune responds, one of his hands igniting in flames. Reacting, he pushes it outward, and a small fireball emerges, hitting one of the Beowulf.
"Fine, we wanted to go to the tea shop!" Magenta responds, then stabbing one of her wooden stakes into a Beowolf. "Now answer my question!" she yells, raising her Aura and blocking a hit from a Beowulf using her other stake.
"Fine! I came out here because I wanted a challenge, alright!" Jaune says, slicing the last Beowolf in half.
"What, why!" Magenta asks, breathing heavily, walking over to the tree she left Olive.
"As I said, I didn't think I had a challenge, so I came here to fight some Grimm," Jaune repeats, panting, following Magenta.
"Olive, are you still there!" Magenta calls out.
"Yeah!" Olive responds on top of the tree.
"Can you come down?" Jaune asks, using Crocea Mors as a walking stick.
"Yeah, my Aura helped," Olive tells them as she climbs down the tree.
When she gets down, she stumbles a bit as Jaune tries to catch her but gets beaten to the punch by Magenta. Who grabbed Olive and slung her over her shoulder, dropping one of her stakes.
"Come on, we're going back home," Magenta says, beginning to walk towards the walls of the village.
"Sorry," Jaune says quietly, walking behind the two.
"It's not your fault," Olive says, looking back at Jaune.
"It is. You wouldn't have gotten injured if I hadn't come here!" Jaune responds with feelings of guilt welling in his core.
"We can talk about this when we get home, right no-" Magenta begins before *Snort* The three turn around to see a horde of Boarbatusk approaching.
"Watch out!" Magenta calls out, pushing Olive towards Jaune. She activates her Aura in time and is launched back. Unfortunately, her Aura shatters.
"MAGENTA!" the two remaining Arcs call out. Olive flares her Aura and runs to help her sister. Jaune's eyes glow brightly once more as he unsheaths Crocea Mors and rushes towards Magenta.
One of the Boarbatusk is about to pounce on Magenta before, from behind, an olive-green light rushes in and knocks the Boarbatusk away. Olive has arrived and is standing in front of Magenta's body, protecting her.
"O-olive wh-what are you d-doing?" Magenta asks, barely being able to move.
"You protected me. I'm doing the same," Olive says, nearly getting hit by a Boarbatusk before she manages to flip it onto its back Jaune appears, stabbing Crocea Mors into its stomach and killing the Grimm.
"I'm sorry, Magenta *pants* this is all my fault," Jaune says, the exhaustion of the previous fights and usage of his new power draining his stamina quickly.
"It's f-fine, just m-make sure to stay s-safe," Magenta replies before passing out.
"Olive theirs four left, counting the one you knocked away. You stay by Magenta. I'll take them head-on, get it," Jaune says, analyzing the situation, knowing that since he's the only one with a weapon, it's up to him to kill the Grimm.
"Got it," Olive says, her fists glowing with her Aura, and she punches one of the Boarbatusk, sending it backward as Jaune rushes out to kill it.
Only two of the Boarbatusk remain. Instead of rushing blindly at the three, they begin to use a spinning attack which causes the two to change their strategy. Jaune remembers what he did earlier in the fight with Beowulf and concentrates on his hands, forming a small fireball and shooting it at the Boarbatusk, knocking them down.
"Woah, how did you do that!?" Olive asks, staring at Jaunes smoking hands.
"I don't *pant* know," Jaune says, breathing heavily, "Look Out!" Jaune calls out as the Boarbatusk that Olive knocked away earlier in the fight comes out of nowhere and bashes into Olive, who barely manages to get her Aura up as it shatters on impact.
"Olive!" Jaune yells out as Olive lands next to Magenta, rushing towards his sisters, 'No, this wasn't supposed to happen, please be ok,' he thinks as tears form at the edges of his eyes.
Before the Boarbatusk could do more damage, it was knocked away as Jaune swung Crocea Mors hard enough to break its tusks before it died on impact.
"Olive! Magenta! This wasn't supposed to happen. Please be ok, please," Jaune pleaded, kneeling by the unconscious forms of his sisters as Grimm approached, sensing Jaunes increasing negative emotional state.
"This is all my fault," Jaune says silently, standing back up, his grip on Crocea Mors tightening. He stands facing the oncoming Grimm and readies himself to right his wrong. Crocea Mors's blade ignites once more, his eyes glowing even brighter as flames appear surrounding them.
"I won't let you harm them anymore!" he yells, rushing at them, swinging and slicing as many as he could, summoning fire and throwing it at any Grimm he saw.
"NINJA-GO!" he shouts as he starts spinning using Spinjitzu. He rushes at the Grimm as they move in slow motion before he retreats to where Magenta and Olive are and stops spinning before shooting out blasts of fire from Crocea Mors.
"Ahh!" Jaune yells, concentrating as much fire as possible to create a massive fireball, but pain shoots throughout his body before he can launch it. The toll of the fights, unlocking his power and using Spinjitzu finally hit him. The flames of Crocea Mors die out as it falls next to him, his eyes turning a dull red, and he falls to his knees, collapsing from the sudden exhaustion.
"N-no no-not like th-this," Jaune struggles to speak as his eyes start to close. He faintly hears someone call out "Ninja-go," and before he closes his eyes, he sees a dark purple Spinjitzu tornado, but before he sees anything more, his eyes close.
AN: I will be honest with anyone who read this far. There were multiple reasons why this chapter took so long to write the main one was I was busy doing other things in my personal life. This is the last week of summer vacation, so I had other things to do to prepare for the upcoming school year.
That being said, since the school year is starting again, my time for this story will be cut, so chapters will take longer to come out hope you all understand.
Anyways on to some things that happen in this chapter, I want to explain a bit more here since the way I'm planning this story it's not going to be explained anytime soon.
Magenta unlocked her semblance. It's called Burn Out. It lets her imbue objects with her Aura to strengthen their striking power and durability. This takes a lot of Aura, and as the name implies, if used too much, it will lead to burnout, leaving her vulnerable to attacks which is why her Aura shattered so quickly in the fight against the Boarbatusk.
Olive also unlocked her semblance. It's called Aura Skin. It allows her to harden her Aura and make it act like a second skin. It also increases her striking power, but it takes a lot of concentration to maintain it, and if it's broken, it takes more Aura to replenish it. I gave her this semblance because, despite her adventurous nature, she was also cautious; this was seen with the fighting style being more defensive.
Jaune also has a permanent change to his design. His eyes are now constantly red and will begin to glow when he's about to use his elemental powers. This is something that characters in the future will point out and use to their advantage. Also, Crocea Mors is now made of the same golden metal that the golden weapons are made of, allowing it to channel elemental power temporarily. It glows red and has flames emanating from the blade part of the sword. It will glow and have corresponding effects when the elemental power is channeled through the sword for Jaune, the master of fire.
That's everything I want to say, so I hope you enjoy the longest chapter to date.
