Jaune Age:13
Location: Southern Vacuo, Dessert of Doom
"Mystake *sigh* Why are we here?" Jaune says, drinking some 'Refreshtea.'
"Jaune, do you remember what we did earlier in the year?" Mystake asks.
"Do you mean *sigh* when we were in Vale or Mistral?" Jaune responds, finishing his tea.
"When we were in Mistral," Mystake answers rolling her eyes.
"Oh, um, I learned how to use Elemental Radiation efficiently," Jaune responds, rubbing his back, feeling phantom pain on his back.
"Yes, but right now, you're going to learn how to apply that knowledge elsewhere," Mystake tells him as they stop at an oasis.
"What do you mean?" Jaune asks.
"You learned how to use Elemental Radiation. Now you're going to learn how to use your Elemental Radiation to absorb the heat of surrounding objects," Mystake tells him as she sets up a small camp for the two.
"That's a thing I can do!?" Jaune exclaims, not remembering this in any of the scrolls or books.
"Yep, but most of the Masters in the stories mastered this ability and can do it passively. That's why it isn't mentioned in the books because it's only for those who have unlocked their True Potential," Mystake told Jaune.
"But wait, I haven't unlocked my True Potential yet. Why am I going to learn this?" Jaune asks, not understanding Mystake's reasoning.
"While a master can use it in passive, you can still learn how to activate it concisely," Mystake explains.
"Oh, okay, that makes sense, but how does it work? I don't think I can just take the heat out of the air, can I?" Jaune asks, wondering about the limits of his powers.
"No, that comes after your True Potential, but for now, you can still take the heat out of small objects," Mystake tells him as she puts her kettle over a fire.
"Oh, alright, so how am I starting this?" Jaune asks, curious about the training.
"You're going to absorb the heat of my kettle," Mystake tells him with a mischievous smile.
Jaune takes a step back, "What!?"
"Oh, don't be like that. You're already immune to fire. Just figure out how you do that, and you'll be fine," Mystake says to the frightened boy rolling her eyes.
"Alright, if you say so," Jaune says, nervous about attempting this.
"Atta boy," Mystake replies, grabbing the kettle as Jaune holds his hands out and puts the hot kettle directly on his skin.
"Oh, this isn't so- OH DEAR FIRST MASTER!" Jaune yells, dropping the kettle and blowing on his hands.
"Yeah, Julius did the same thing," Mystake says, laughing as she picks up the kettle, cleans it, and puts it back on the fire.
"Ah ha ah," Jaune says as he coats his hand in Elemental Radiation, and they start to wait a minute. Jaune stares at his hands in disbelief. They feel fine now.
"Yup, that's exactly how Julius reacted," Mystake says, handing him a cup of 'Healtea.' "You need to learn how to coat your body in Elemental Radiation without causing it to ignite into your Elemental Power," Mystake says, sitting in her chair.
"Oooh! Wow, that's way simpler than I thought it would be," Jaune says, coating his hands in Elemental Radiation and picking up the kettle, holding it with no harm to his body.
"Well, it looks like we have a prodigy on our hands," Mystake jokes, 'wow, he picked it up fas-' Jaunes hands burst into flames. 'Never mind,' Mystake thinks, rolling her eyes.
"Hehe, I guess I need more practice," Jaune jokes, unable to dispel the fire on his hands.
"Yes, you do. That's what training is for," Mystake says with a nostalgic smile.
"Got it, so do I put this down and try again?" Jaune asked, not sure where to go from here.
"Yes," Mystake said, rolling her eyes, 'for how much of a genius he is, he's also pretty dumb at times,' she thinks, watching Jaune reminiscing of her time training a different Master of Fire.
The two would spend the rest of the day and a few more weeks on this training. Before, the two continued on their way, traveling and training.
Jaune Age: 17
Location: Beacon Academy
Morning is the enemy for all who enjoy the sweet bliss of sleep. Fortunately, Jaune is used to waking up early for training, traveling, or working on the teashop.
*yawn* Jaune gets up, noticing that many students are still asleep, so he decides to be sneaky and can get to the locker room and do his morning rituals before changing into his Gi.
Jaune heads to the cafeteria for breakfast. He decides to have a light one remembering what Mystake told him about the initiation. "Jaune, the Beacon initiation will be very intense. I recommend having food in your stomach, but not too much, don't want to throw up," her words rang in his head, so he sat down and started eating.
"Jaune!" a familiar voice calls out. Jaune turns and sees Ruby and Yang approach him.
"Hey, what's up," Jaune responds, waving at the two sisters.
"We wanted to ask you some questions, on the whole, helping me in the Roman fight," Ruby says, sitting down with a plate of cookies.
"I'm here in case something happens I don't approve of," Yang threatens, her eyes turning a shade of crimson in a threatening manner.
"Alright," Jaune responds, his eyes briefly flashing bright red before returning to their dull color.
'What was that?' both girls ask in thought.
"Well, why were you there?" Ruby asks, pushing the tips of her index finger together.
"I was just shopping… *sigh* I never got those accessories," Jaune answers.
"Oh, um, well, alright, and don't worry, when we pass, we can go back to buy them," Ruby responds with newfound confidence.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I'm sure I have similar accessories in some of my stuff in storage," Jaune says, waving off her concern.
"Oh, alright then. What was that twistitzu-" Before Ruby can finish her sentence, Jaune cuts her off.
"Spinjitzu," Jaune corrects with a glare, his bright red eyes boring into the sister's soul. "Sorry, it's just that Spinjitzu is important to me because of its connection to my family," Jaune says, shaking his head and his eyes returning to his usual dull red.
"It's alright," both sisters reply.
"Right, what were you going to ask?" Jaune says, returning the conversation to its original topic.
"Oh right, what was that Spinjitzu thing? Is it your Semblance? Is it connected to the other thing you did to get on top of the building?" Ruby asks, stars in her eyes, remembering it from yesterday when he used it on Weiss.
"Oh wow, that's a lot. Well, in order, Spinjitzu is a martial art, kinda, and yes," Jaune answers, finishing his breakfast.
"Cool, oh um, then-" "Attention, students, all first years, there are only then minutes before the start of the initiation. Please be prepared," the unmistakable voice of Glynda Goodwitch cut off Ruby's last question.
"Huh, looks like we'll have to finish this conversation later," Jaune says, getting up and placing his tray away.
"Well, see you later … Jaune?" Ruby trails off, seeing that Jaune has disappeared.
"Where did he go?" Ruby asks, turning to Yang and seeing her sister equally confused.
The duo brushed it off before heading to the locker room for their equipment and to get prepared. Ruby opens her locker, humming to herself as she opens her locker to grab her weapon, Crescent Rose.
"Well, you seem chipper," Yang points out, seeing her sister.
"Yep! Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking, and I got Jaune to answer my questions," Ruby responds, caressing Crescent Rose.
"You know I love Crocea Mors too, but I don't think I love it that much," Jaune says, watching the two sisters.
"Ahh!"
"WHOA!
"What? Is there something behind me?" Jaune asks nonchalantly.
"NO! I mean, how. I mean, when did you get here," Ruby yells, holding Crescent Rose in a battle-ready stance.
Yang had her gauntlets ready but calmed down after seeing it was only Jaune. She calmed down slightly, "jeez, Jaune put a bell on yourself or something," Yang sarcastically tells him.
"Can't that would ruin my ninja aesthetic," Jaune responds in a very intense tone.
"... um, okay," Both sisters deadpan.
"Well, I gotta get my gear, so see ya," Jaune says, walking over to his locker and seeing two girls standing in front of it.
"So, Pyrrha, have you thought about whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!" Jaune recognized that voice. It was Weiss.
"Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may," the red-haired girl responded.
"Well... I thought maybe we could be on a team together," Weiss responded.
"Well, that sounds grand!" the red-haired girl responded with a fake smile.
"Great!" Weiss said before hunching over her back towards the amazon.
"Hello again," Jaune says, cutting into the conversation.
"Oh no, not you again!" Weiss said, seeing Jaune.
"Hello again," the green-eyed girl responded.
"What do you want!?" Weiss asks with enough venom to kill a Megoliath.
"Oh, nothing much you two are just standing in front of my locker," Jaune tells them. Weiss steps aside, still glaring at the young Arc.
"Oh, I'm sorry," the red-haired girl moves aside meekly.
"Don't worry about it. You didn't know," Jaune says, an apologetic smile on his face. Jaune looks over to the keypad, enters the code, and retrieves his hood and sword. "So I never got your name," Jaune says, turning towards the red-haired girl.
"Oh, um, it-"
"You can't be serious!" Weiss yells, her glare strengthening.
"I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't serious," Jaune retorts sarcastically.
"She is the Pyrrha Nikos," Weiss says, her hands gesturing to Pyrrha.
"Hello again," Pyrrha says.
"Okay," Jaune says with a deadpan expression.
This angers Weiss, but Pyrrha's smile returns Jaune noticing that it's a real one. 'Huh, she likes that she isn't recognized, neat,' Jaune thought.
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum!" Weiss tells him, her face reddening in rage.
'How to annoy her… oh, I know,' Jaune thought, putting on his poker face, "Never heard of it," Jaune says internally, grinning.
"She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!" Weiss yells at Jaune, her rage growing while her patience shrinks.
Jaunes expression darkens. His eyes glow red, and small flames emanate from them only for a fraction of a second before returning to his poker face. "The what?" he asks, trying to sound as clueless as possible before staring at Pyrrha, 'is this what Magenta could have been?' he thinks to himself, reminded of his failure.
The only people who notice Jaune's expression change are Ruby, Yang, and Pyrrha. They all have the same thought 'What happened?' Yang and Ruby were snickering at Weiss's reaction. However, Pyrrha, because of her training, allows her to be incredibly perspective.
They didn't know Jaune, but someone didn't react like that for no reason, and they wanted to know why. Ruby worried for her first friend, Yang, to make sure Jaune wasn't a threat to Ruby's safety, and Pyrrha was simply curious about all the people she's met. No one had ever had that kind of reaction to her.
"She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!" Weiss yells, the only one not to sense the newfound tension in the room. Her arms flailing around made for a comical sight considering her size compared to the people she was standing next to.
"She was?" Jaune asks, genuinely confused. It had been a long time since he's eaten Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes, mainly because it reminded him too much of his family.
"NRHAG!" Weiss was, at this point, millimeters close to having a brain aneurysm.
"Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately," the voice of Glynda Goodwitch came onto the speakers before anybody could commit any manslaughter.
"Well, I guess we should head off now. See you around," Jaune says before leaving abruptly, thoughts of his family forming in his head, a single tear forming in his eye.
"The nerve of some people," Weiss says before storming off.
'What just happened?' the young reaper and golden fighter ask themselves simultaneously.
Pyrrha, for her part, says nothing, her eyes following Jaune, an idea forming in her head.
At the cliffs, the students line up on top of metallic pads embedded in the ground. 'So we have a Belladonna here. Wonder why she's wearing that bow, though… I'll ask her after the initiation,' Jaune thought, looking at the other students.
"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest," Ozpin monologues. If Jaune was honest, he wasn't paying too much attention.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to end your confusion. You will be given teammates... today," Goodwitch explained. Jaune actually paid attention to this one in fear of the Goodwitch.
"What? Ohhh…" Ruby said dejectedly.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well," Ozpin explained, causing Ruby to groan.
'Neat,' Jaune thought, looking at his nails.
"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years," Oapin finished.
"Whaaaat?!" Ruby said, falling over. Jaune swore he heard glass breaking.
"See, I told you," Jaune heard one of the other students say to the one next to them.
"After you've partnered up, make your way to the forest's northern end. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die," Ozpin said, a solemn expression on his face.
'Whatever you say,' Jaune said, rolling his eyes.
"You will be monitored and graded throughout your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Ozpin asks, looking over at the students.
No one said anything.
"Good! Now, take your positions," Ozpin announced, standing to the side next to Professor Goodwitch.
Jaune reached behind his back and pulled… a teakettle? Then, he grabbed a cup and poured some tea using his other hand. Finishing his drink, he put it away and was launched into the air.
"Ninja-Go!" Jaune exclaims using his Airjitzu. Seeing the ruins, he directs himself in that direction while getting closer to the ground. His Airjitzu tornado dispels as he lands on top of a tree, climbs down it, and unsheathes Croce Mors.
Jaune walks toward the ruins and hears some noise coming from the bushes. He puts his hood on and gets into his fighting stance. "Alright, if you're a person, then come on out, but if you're not, get set to be sliced!" Jaune yells at the bush.
Out of the bush walks the red-headed champion of Mistral. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," she says, her hands in the universal sign of surrender.
"Oh, it's you, Pyra, right?" Jaune asks, pointing at her.
"Pyrrha, actually," Pyrrha corrects with a smile.
"Oh, sorry,"
"It's okay, so I guess this means we're partners, right?" Pyrrha asked, holding her hand out.
"Yeah, I guess it does," Jaune replied, shaking her hand, "alright, we should head in that direction," Jaune said as he pointed in the direction of the ruins.
"Are you sure?" Pyrrha asks.
"Yup, I saw where the ruins are while I was in the air," Jaune tells her.
"Very well then, I trust your judgment," Pyrrha says, and the two starts walking in the direction Jaune pointed.
"So, how about you tell me some things about yourself," Jaune says, looking back at Pyrrha.
"Huh, oh um, I'm not sure what to say," Pyrrha says, looking down.
"It's fine. Here I'll go first. I'm Jaune Arc and use my sword Croce Mors and my 'semblance' in combat. My dream is to be the strongest hero," Jaune said with a smile on his face, "Now it's your turn," he said, pointing back at her.
"Um, well, my name is Pyrrha Nickos, and I use my mechashift weapon and shield Miló and Akoúo̱ in combat along with my Semblance. And my dream is to make-" *ROAR* Pyrrha's sentence was cut short by the roar of an Alpha Beowulf.
"Beowulfs! Six counting the Alpha on your nine!" Jaune yells, and Pyrrha responds by quickly jumping to the side and using Miló in its Xiphos form to kill one of the Beowulfs on the right.
Jaune charges Crocea Mors in his right hand, his left hand engulfed in flames. "NINJA-GO!" he shouts as he is engulfed in his Spinjitzu and takes on the Alpha himself, killing it instantly.
Pyrrha then shifts her weapon into its Javelin form as she launches it into the Beowulfs with an extra push from her Semblance. Killing two of the Beowulfs as Jaune in his Spinjitzu tornado kills the two remaining Beowulfs with ease.
"That was easy," Jaune says, taking his hood off.
"Quite you are an excellent fighter," Pyrrha compliments, sheathing Miló into her shield.
"Thanks, you're pretty good too," Jaune returns the compliment.
"Thank you, but we must keep going. What direction did you say the temple is in?" Pyrrha asks.
"Hold on, let me check," Jaune says, sheathing Crocea Mors, "Ninja-Go," he announces as he goes into the air using his Airjitzu, making Pyrrha take a step back.
"That way," Jaune says, landing, pointing towards the temple.
"Jaune, was that your semblance?" Pyrrha asks, stunned at the display.
"Kind of it's connected to my 'Semblance,'" Jaune responded, unsheathing Crocea Mors.
"Well, whatever it may be, we must continue," Pyrrha announced.
The two walked together in comfortable silence, occasionally broken by a few Grimm attacks they quickly took down. The two reach a strange cave with a broken sign in front of it.
"Jaune, I feel a strange energy emitting from this cave," Pyrrha tells him, worried.
"Hmm, I think there might be a Grimm in there," Jaune responds.
"How are you so sure?" Pyrrha asks, her eyebrow raised.
"I'm not, but there is one way to find out," Jaune says as he charges a fireball in his left hand, compressing it and launching it into the cave.
*BOOM* *SCREECH*
"Oh yeah, there's definitely a Grimm in there," Jaune says, a neutral smile on his face.
"Um, should we run…" Pyrrha trails off, staring at Jaune.
"Yup fighting a Deathstalker in an enclosed space is a suicide," Jaune says as the two starts to run and hear a loud screech from behind them.
The two reach a clearing, "There!" Jaune shouts, pointing at the ruins.
Meanwhile, a short distance away, "Did those two run here with a Deathstalker on their tail?" a baffled yellow-eyed girl asks aloud, standing next to Yang.
"Jaune, we won't make it in time!" Pyrrha tells him, shouting to overpower the noise made by the Deathstalker.
"Trust me! NINJA-GO!" Jaune quickly uses his Spinjitzu, absorbing Pyrrha into the tornado, and speeds toward the ruins. While doing this, he unintentionally catches a falling Weiss.
"See, we made it," Jaune says, ending his Spinjitzu Weiss and Pyrrha collapsed at his feet.
"Jaune!" Ruby yells, glad to her friend.
"Oh hey, Ruby," Jaune turns back to see her and waves.
"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" Yang sarcastically exclaims.
"Not if I can help it," Ruby says before rushing at the Deathstalker extending Crescent Rose and attempting to hit it… The Deathstalker easily blocks and pushes her back, causing her to fall to the ground.
"D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!" Ruby says, getting up slowly as the Deathstalker appears behind her.
Ruby shoots at it, sending herself back as she turns around, running back to the rest of the group. Yang and Jaune rush toward Ruby to assist. From above, the Nevermore positions itself, launching its feathers toward the three.
Jaune sees this and decides to use his Spinjitzu, "NINJA-GO!" he shouts as the fire tornado engulfs him. The feathers launched at the three were absorbed into the tornado, baffling the onlookers as that shouldn't be possible. Still, it also shouldn't be physically possible to have three people in the same tornado, but no one questioned that.
Jaune then launches the feathers back at the Nevermore and a few to block the Deathstalker from getting to Ruby. "whoa!" Ruby and Yang exclaim, seeing Jaune's 'Semblance.'
"Are you okay?" Jaune asks, a bit out of breath.
"Yeah," Ruby responds before being bear-hugged by Yang.
"I'm so happy you're okay!" Yang exclaimed. The three returned to the others, where Pyrrha and Weiss had recovered.
"Alright, that should buy us some time before the Deathstalker breaks out," Jaune said, catching his breath, the constant use of Spinjitzu taking a toll on his body.
"What about the Nevermore?" asks the magenta-eyed teen.
"I managed to hit one of its wings. It won't be coming back any time soon," Jaune told him. 'Hopefully,' Jaune thought, unsure about it.
"Alright, my name is Ren, and this is Nora," Ren said, his hands gesturing towards the orange-haired girl next to him.
"Hello!" Nora said her hand out.
"Hello, my name is Jaune," Jaune says, shaking her hand and feeling a strange connection touching her hand. He brushes it off.
"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us," Weiss says, looking at the others.
"She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. There's no point in fighting these things," Ruby says as she goes for the remaining relics.
"A tactical retreat is a good plan," Jaune says, standing next to Ruby at the relics and grabbing the golden rook.
"Thanks," Ruby responds, grabbing the golden knight.
The Nevermore perches itself on top of some columns near a different set of ruins. The group of eight runs towards the cliffs before getting to the bridge's halfway point. *CAW*. "What? I hit its wing directly. How did it recover this quickly!" Jaune yells in frustration.
The group split up. Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora hide behind the columns on the left. While Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang hide behind the columns on the right.
*CRASH* the Deathstalker arrives behind the teenagers, "Oh, come on!" Jaune shouts, and his frustrations are evident. The group emerges from their hiding spots alerting the Nevermore as it caws and rises into the air attempting to launch more feathers.
"Nora! Distract it!" Ren yells at Nora, who nods, runs in front of the Nevermore's sight, and dodges the feathers. Equipping her weapon in its grenade launcher form, she launches multiple projectiles at it. It gets hit by multiple objects before it flies away.
Behind Nora, the Deathstalker approaches but is hit by Both Blake and Ren stunning it. The three then run towards a nearby bridge, and the Deathstalker recovers and follows them. Jaune stands guard at the bridge, readying a fireball and aiming it at the Deathstalker.
"Take this!" Jaune yells as everyone passes him, launching the fireball directly at the Deathstalkers face. The blast stunned it as Jaune retreated with the others to cross the bridge but unseen by anybody is the Nevermore flying back as it dived into the bridge, destroying it.
Jaune, Ruby, Nora, Weiss, and Yang land on the front section of the bridge while the rest remain with the Deathstalker. Ruby shoots at the Nevermore as it retreats.
Jaune looks over at the other, seeing Blake get beaten back by the Deathstalker. "Damn it. They need help!"
"Then let's do this!" Nora exclaims, running next to him.
"Alright, hold on!" Jaune grabs Nora's shoulder, "NINJA-GO!" Jaune says, activating his Airjitzu, and flies over to the others.
"Throw me at it!" Nora tells him while they're in the air.
"What!?" Jaune asks.
"JUST DO IT!" Nora yells at him.
"Get ready!" Jaune says, throwing Nora at the Deathstalker as she hits the Deathstalker dead on. She then explodes one of her charges, jumping back and knocking Blake off the bridge.
Luckily Blake uses her ribbon to grapple onto a pillar, swinging and hitting the Nevermore before landing on the other side of the bridge next to Ruby.
The blast of Jaune's fireball, the Nevermore diving into the bridge, Nora's weapon causing explosions, and the Deathstalker's using his tail to stab at the bridge caused the bridge to become unstable.
"We! Gotta move!" Jaune yells at the others.
They nodded and charged at the Deathstalker. It attempted to use its right claw, but Jaune, using a flaming Crocea Mors, blocked the pincer. In retaliation, it used its left claw to attack, but it was blocked by Pyrrha using her shield.
Ren uses his weapons behind the two to shoot at its eyes. The Deathstalker uses it to attack Ren, but he dodges to the side and jumps onto the stinger shooting at the parts where it connects to the tail.
Nora uses its grenade launcher to offer ranged support at its claws giving Jaune and Pyrrha an opening to attack. Pyrrha launches her weapon at one of its eyes while Jaune shoots a compressed fireball that explodes on contact. This, unfortunately, causes it to shake in pain, launching Ren off to the side and hitting the side of the cliff.
"REN!" Nora yells, worried for her long-time best friend.
Jaune notices the damage down to the Deathstalkers tail "Pyrrha!" Jaune yells, pointing at the tail and getting both girls' attention.
"On it!" Pyrrha yells. In response, she throws her shield and uses her Semblance to help cut the stinger as it falls onto the Deathstalker and ricochets it back to her.
"Nora! Nail it!" Jaune tells her with a smile.
"Heads up!" Nora yells as Pyrrha holds her shield up. Nora uses it as a platform using her weapon to boost her into the air and falls back down with a smile. Using her weapon to increase her speed, she hits the stinger and kills it with one final boom.
The final explosion causes the bridge to collapse. "NINJA-GO!" Jaune uses his Spinjitzu to absorb Nora and Pyrrha and get to solid ground. Ren walks up to the three of them, pants, and collapses.
"We did it!" Jaune says, cheering.
"Yup! Ren, are you okay?" Nora asks the collapsed ninja.
Ren groans in response, "Oh, that's bad?" Nora asks.
"Here, give him this," Jaune says, holding a cup of tea.
"Okay!" Nora responds, grabbing the cup and forcing Ren to drink it.
"Jaune, what was that?" Pyrrha asks, looking at Jaune's teakettle.
"Hmm, oh, it was just some 'Healtea.' I brought some with me if I needed it," Jaune answers. Nora hands him the cup back.
"I see. What about your Aura?" Pyrrha asks, confused.
"Oh well, a drawback of my 'Semblance' is that my Aura doesn't heal my wounds as quickly," Jaune tells her.
"Well, whatever the reason, thank you," Ren said, getting back up.
"You're welcome," Jaune says, putting away his tea kettle and cup.
*BOOM*
"I! Hope! You're! Hung-! ...-gry!" The four see Yang shoot her bullets directly into Nevermore's mouth. Before jumping off, the now dazed Nevermore crashes into the cliff, cawing at her.
It attempts to fly upwards, but Weiss reaches it in time and uses Myrtenaster to freeze its tail feathers, leaving it stuck. She jumps away, using her glyphs as a platform. She rejoins the other girls.
Blake throws the pistol part of her Gambol Shroud towards Yang as they climb up to pillars extending the ribbons and making a makeshift slingshot. Ruby uses Crescent Rose in its scythe form to cause the ribbon to go downwards. Weiss, behind them, uses her glyph turning it black to use the time dilating variation.
"Of course, you would come up with this idea," Weiss said, looking at Ruby.
"Think you can make the shot?" Ruby asks.
"Hmm! Can I!" Weiss responds in a confident tone.
…
"Can-"
"Of course, I can!" Weiss cuts Ruby off before the red reaper can ask again.
Ruby looks forward and readies Crescent Rose as Weiss turns the glyph red, releasing Ruby with enough force to crack the ground beneath them. While in the air, Ruby uses a combination of her Semblance and Crescent Rose's recoil to get closer to the Nevermore.
Using the scythe's blade, she aims at Nevermore's neck, landing on the side of the cliff. Seeing the plan going well, Weiss uses her Semblance and makes more glyphs beneath Ruby as she uses her Semblance and Crescent Rose's recoil to run up the cliff. When she gets to the top of the cliff, she decapitates Nevermore.
"Awesome!" Jaune says, seeing the plan to deal with the nevermore alongside Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren.
"So cool!" Nora said, stars in her eyes.
"It was good," Ren said.
"That was spectacular," Pyrrha said, clapping at the display.
"Well, come on, we need to get to th-"
*HOWL*
The group turned around to see an Alpha Beowulf and 15 other Beowulfs.
"Crap Ren, are you able to fight?" Jaune asks the injured ninja.
"Yes, my wounds have fully healed thanks to the tea and my Aura," Ren replied, readying his weapons.
"Good! Alright, Ren, you'll be on long-distance support. Nora, use your grenades to kill the Beowulfs from afar. Pyrrha, you and I will take care of the front lines. Everyone got it!" Jaune yells out to the others.
"Right!" Pyrrha responds with her weapon in its Xiphos form.
"On it!" Nore replied, getting her weapon ready.
"Understood," Ren replied, his weapons reloaded.
Jaune and Pyrrha rush in, and Jaune ignites Crocea Mors and lights his left fist on fire, flames emanating from his hair and eyes. The Alpha changes in with the younger Beowulf circling them. Nora shoots at the ones on the outer rim of the circle. Ren shoots at any of the ones that get close.
The Alpha swipes at Jaune; however, Pyrrha blocks it using her shield. Jaune used his left hand to blast the Grimm with a stream of fire at its face causing it to back off, allowing Pyrrha to stab it with her Miló Xiphos killing it.
The remaining Beowulf then rush in to attack the two, luckily with Nora taking care of most of the Beowulf and Ren using his Semblance to get close and assist with taking care of the Beowulf. There weren't that many left.
"NINJA-GO!" Jaune yells, using his Spinjitzu to take care of the remaining Beowulf quickly.
"That is an awesome Semblance!" Nora says, looking at the tornado.
"Yeah, but come on, we need to hurry!" Jaune said, ending his Spinjitzu.
"What, why?" Ren asks, putting his weapons away.
"One drawback of overusing my 'Semblance' is that it attracts Grimm," Jaune tells them.
"That is bad," Ren exclaims.
"Yeah, I know that's why I don't use it too often, and when I do, I have to make it count," Jaune says as he readies to depart.
"Well, then we must depart," Pyrrha says.
"Already on it!" Nora says, gabbing Ren.
"Nora!"
"Alright, let's go!" Jaune says.
The four start running towards the cliff to return to Beacon and complete the initiation, managing to meet back up with the other and explain why they were late. The group of eight then rush towards Beacon as fast as they can.
Location: Beacon
The group of eight managed to get to Beacon and pass the initiation and were now in the auditorium, watching the ceremony for the passing student.
"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark," Ozpin announces as images of the four boys appear on the screen. "The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!" Ozpin announces as the four boys celebrate and are then led off the stage by professor Goodwitch.
Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren walk onto the stage. "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR!" Ozpin tells them as the four celebrate, "Led by Jaune Arc!" Ozpin finishes.
Jaune raises an eyebrow in surprise. "Huh, neat," were the only words he could think of.
"Congratulations, young man," Ozpin tells Jaune, looking him in the eyes. Pyrrha pats Jaune in the back as he smiles at her.
The newly named team JNPR walks off stage, the four waving at the friends made during the initiation. As Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang walk onto the stage.
"And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!" Ozpin announces, leaving the four girls shocked, although Blake didn't show it.
"I'm so proud of you!" Yang says as she hugs her sister, who groans from the strength behind the hug.
Ozpin smiles, looking at the four girls, and then looks toward the other student's eyes, locking with Jaune. "It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year," he says.
Location: Unknown
"The boy was in a forest full of Grimm. Why didn't we attack him?" a man holding a staff with a strange glowing crystal embedded in it asked, annoyed.
"Because the forest was under constant monitoring, if we attacked, we would only reveal ourselves, and that's a risk we can't take," a second man reading a book in a strange language said.
"Oh, fine, but when will we be able to attack him? I want that power," The first man complains.
"Patience, my master, remember we can still rely on her he-" the second man explains but gets cut off as the first man holds the staff to his neck.
"Don't mention her. You know how much I hate her. She unbearable always chasing after that maiden which she failed, only getting half the maiden powers and thinking she so great and constantly get praised while I set off and acquire four out of the six power we need and di get praise nooo I'm only told to get back to work," the first man complains using his staff sending a burst of wind destroying a part of the room they were in.
"I apologize, master. I will maintain my surveillance on the boy and inform you when we can attack," the second man said, intimidated by his master's power.
"Good, and make sure she doesn't know we're here," the first man said, leaving.
Authors Note:
Dear god, this chapter was long, but it was primarily written using the first few episodes of RWBY as its primary source, so it evens out.
Also, Jaune will refer to his Elemental Powers as a semblance, which I will write with apostrophes around it to show he doesn't mean it. I've also made this arc's main antagonist evident if you've seen Ninjago.
I also want to mention I don't think this chapter is too good, mainly because I rewatched the first few episodes as a reference, so it doesn't feel like I wrote this. More like I edited it.
And that's all I have to say. See yall next chapter.
