Ash gasped when he saw the Pokemon Misty had. A Seadra! Did she...catch this or was it the evolved form of the Horsea she had?
"Lemme check this out," Ash said as he took out his Pokedex. He wondered if he could gain any useful information to help him with this battle.
"Seadra, the dragon Pokemon. It wraps its tail around coral when sleeping to prevent drifting off. The fins on its back can cause poisoning."
Ash thought of something that he could use for Machop; Machop had the ability guts, so if he got poisoned, it would raise his attack. But he didn't want to act impulsively and jump into the battle so quickly as he needed to see how the opponent moved. Not to mention the fact that if Ash got Machop poisoned, his health would dwindle down slowly throughout the fight. Though Ash was not filled with hatred and anger like he felt the night Misty ditched him, he most certainly wanted to beat her in a battle to settle and prove he was not the weakling that she thought he was who needed his hand held.
"So, did you catch this Seadra or did you train Horsea and get him to evolve?" asked Ash as he nodded at Machop with reassurance.
"I trained my Horsea with utmost care," Misty told him with a bit of pride in her voice, the feelings of sadness completely gone. "And we'll show you a thing or two about battling. Seadra, don't hold back just because you got an advantage in the water. Use bubble!"
Ash was proud to see that Misty's smallest Pokemon had gotten utmost care and training. Initially, when Ash saw Horsea in Porta Vista, he was somewhat dubious about the power he could have, but now, in the evolved form, there was likely a fighter who was to be dealt with accordingly. Seadra let out a bubble barrage that looked a lot stronger than Kingler's, but it was evident because Seadra had a considerably higher special attack.
"That's pretty interesting and I'm proud for you, Seadra. Now. Machop, jump across the other platforms to dodge that!" Ash commanded his Pokemon.
He didn't feel like making Machop dive underwater just yet unless it was absolutely necessary, but maybe dodging a lot of attacks could eventually tire out Seadra. Ash knew he would need a lot of offensive power this round since he knew that Horsea needed a higher level to evolve than Machop did into Machoke, so he had to be extra careful. Machop did as he was told and did a running start for a platform about three meters from him and jumped across the water, his landing pushing the platform a bit further away from the others as the waves began to ripple around the pool. Machop did this for two more jumps and realized it was creating a lot of excess space between the platforms, meaning that he was honestly screwed if Seadra decided to use another battlefield-sweeping bubble attack.
Erika gasped at what she saw, realizing the potential danger Machop was now in. She really started hoping Ash had a strategy up his sleeve, but at least she knew Machop could swim in the water fairly well if the situation came to a watery retreat.
"Looks like the battlefield's a bit out of reach, Ash. But I will give credit that you've been raising your Machop fairly well," Misty praised. "But you've made a fatal mistake. Seadra, use blizzard!"
Ash's eyes widened when he heard this and he had an option that was risky, but he had to do it. He had to figure out how to avoid being frozen solid by the strongest ice move! "Machop, dive into the water and raise the platform up to shield yourself from the blizzard!"
Seadra began to inhale and began to blow out a lot of snow at the same time Machop dove into the water. He lifted the platform up and the snow began to accumulate as well as some ice. The platform was impossible to stand up on now and it looked like a small iceberg. The water around the platform, too, was frozen over. Ash figured he could use the frozen platform for something. He decided it was time to get back on a platform because there was no way he could outswim a water Pokemon, even after the training today.
"Machop, use karate chop onto the platform while holding onto it so it'll collide with another. Then, get back up and try to hit Seadra with take down."
Machop said his name and began to shiver a bit because the water near the platform was now super cold, even colder than the water that he got in earlier today. But with a strong smack from his hand, he managed to move the platform towards another and he climbed onto the non-frozen one. Seadra watched carefully, trying to get an attack ready for when his trainer commanded it. Ash figured that with this take down, it would likely poison Machop, but he had to get that attack bonus from being poisoned. Maybe it wouldn't hurt Machop that badly.
Machop recklessly launched himself forwards towards Seadra and managed to hit him squarely on the head. However, Machop wasn't able to fully dodge the fins as they raked against his thigh and caused him to get poisoned. He could tell Machop looked stronger, but also a bit sick; he did not like how the other was potentially suffering, but he could utilize this gained power effectively. Machop got out of the water and swam for another platform and stood there to get his bearings straight.
"Not bad, but your Machop looks poisoned," Misty observed. "Doing something a bit reckless is expected of you, but you seem to be more cautious compared to when we first met, Ash. I applaud you for that."
"I'm just trying to slowly erase my mistakes," Ash explained. "I'll take a bit of time, but I plan to become a great trainer."
"And I imagine you will in time, but for now, let's focus on this battle. Dragonbreath, Seadra!" Seadra expelled a teal colored beam of energy from his mouth towards Machop.
"Get back in the water to dodge it!" Ash told Machop. Machop dove back in and managed to swim underwater away from the attack.
"Seadra, use agility and catch up to Machop!" Misty ordered. Seadra soon became lightning fast and managed to head towards Machop underwater.
"Machop, give Seadra a karate chop!" ordered Ash as he held his hands by his mouth to amplify his voice. Machop saw Seadra approaching and he extended a glowing hand at Machop with a strike so powerful that it knocked Seadra onto the platform with ice on it! Seadra had no idea how to get off it and Ash said, "Use Seismic toss onto the platform before Seadra gets away!"
Machop swam as fast as he could towards the platform that had Seadra flopping around on it and he picked up the water Pokemon. He jumped about fifteen feet into the air and with a spiral spin, the impact increased from guts and a portion of the ice broke. It was not enough to knock out Seadra, but he did sustain a fairly nasty injury from Ash's attack. Ash was proud of what Machop did and he said,
"You're doing great, buddy! Now, use low kick on the ice and hurl it towards Seadra!"
Seadra was still trying to see straight after being knocked on the head fairly hard and then Misty said, "Hurry, Seadra, get out of the way and use bubble again!"
Machop kicked part of the ice and part of it scraped against Seadra, but the water Pokemon blasted some bubbles at Machop who was unable to dodge the attack. He, too, took a fair amount of damage from that weak water attack, and coupled with the poisoning, was done to his last end, too.
"Looks like we are both evenly matched," Ash told Misty.
"Yes, it indeed seems that way," she answered. "But now we gotta end this. Use dragonbreath again!"
"Machop, toss the rest of that ice into the dragonbreath to stop it!" Ordered Ash. The two Pokemon did as they were told and the teal-colored energy beam headed for Machop, but it did not do anything since a huge chunk of ice collided with it and caused an explosion.
"Quick, Machop, do a flying karate chop!" Ordered Ash. Machop could barely see Seadra with the smoke, but he saw the bit of outline and he began running as fast as he could off the platform and jumped. With his left hand ready to attack, he swiped and smacked Seadra on the side of his snout, causing the Pokemon to fall sideways into the water. The smoke had cleared out now and Ash saw the results. Seadra had been knocked out and wasn't able to continue!
"We did it!" Cheered Ash as he pumped his fist towards Machop in celebration. Machop gave a thumbs up and Misty smiled. Erika sighed with relief she saw that Ash had the upper hand at the moment though she was worried about how much stamina Machop had left since he was suffering poison damage over time.
"I'm proud of you, Seadra. You did a great job. Now take a rest." She sucked Seadra back into the ball and put it on her hip and took out her next one. "That was quite an interesting round against my first Pokemon. Now let's see how you handle this! Misty calls out...Tentacruel!"
She tossed the ball out and Tentacruel came out! Ash remembered when they were at Porta Vista and she was fawning over them, calling them cute. Ash could not see how they were cute in the least bit, but he had to at least acknowledge her efforts to go out and get one considering the emotions she had been feeling when this. Ash was glad it was normal size and not like that monstrosity that nearly destroyed the entire costal town.
"Water and poison type. Butterfree's confusion should work well against him, but he gets no attack bonus since it's a psychic move," Ash thought to himself. He had to use what little advantage he could against this beast to take him down and prove to Misty that he was a lot stronger and more independent than she thought of him before.
"So you finally decided to get this Tentacruel, eh? Where did you get him?" Asked Ash.
"I got him when I was fishing off Route 19," explained Misty. "Isn't he just beautiful?"
Both Ash and Erika were thinking on the same page that no, Tentacruel was not a beautiful Pokemon, but to each her own. Ash had to think of something fast since Machop's stamina was quite low. There was no way he could beat a fresh Pokemon with the condition that Machop was in!
"Not really, but you know what? You got him for yourself and that's all should matter," Ash told the other. "Now, let's use take down on Tentacruel!"
"Counter it with poison jab!" Misty told her Pokemon. Machop once again dove out into the open water against the huge jellyfish and managed to get a hit in, but a purple tentacle made contact with him and hit him in the gut. Machop groaned in pain once it hit him and he was out cold, doing his best to endure, but the poisoning was just too much to handle as it had slowly drained him of his stamina.
"Machop!" Ash called out. He almost felt tears come into his eyes and he took out the Pokeball that belonged to the other. "I know you don't like being in here, but you need a good rest, okay, buddy."
"M...machop," the other said with no resistance before getting absorbed back into the ball.
"I'm so proud of you," Ash told the ball before putting it back on his hip. Machop at least shaved some of Tentacruel's health down with the attack bonus from guts, so the next Pokemon that Ash would use wouldn't have as difficult of a time had take down not connected.
"Your Machop put up a great fight, Ash, and I'm eager to see what your next Pokemon is," Misty said as she awaited the decision.
"Very well. I choose you!" He said without even saying the name of his selection. The light disappeared and Misty gasped at what she saw, completely not expecting this choice.
"Ash, did you capture another Butterfree, or...?!"
"Nope, this is the same one. He came back for me, and I intend to make sure that the others do, too," Ash said to the other.
Misty temporarily was left without any words upon hearing the other's Pokemon had returned. She felt really glad for him that another one of his Pokemon did not abandon him, although technically he did release Butterfree to go find a mate. Still, Misty had to admire the dedication the Pokemon had to find Ash and hoped his other Pokemon would return.
"I'm amazed that Butterfree found you, Ash. And you deserve him to be back in your party."
"Thanks, now, let's have our Pokemon fight as this battle is just getting started!"
"You got that right, Ash Ketchum! Tentacruel, pay extra attention since you've got a flying opponent. They're not gonna make this easy, but use constrict!"
"Butterfree, put Tentacruel to sleep with your sleep powder!" ordered Ash as he had his fists clenched.
"Oh, no you don't. Not a repeat of last time. Dive underwater, Tentacruel, dodge that!" Misty called out, this time going to outright avoid getting hit with the powder like her Staryu did and would just avoid it all together.
The turquoise glittery powder sprinkled over the water, but it washed away and did nothing at all. Tentacruel remained underwater for a few seconds until the powder was all gone and merely groaned at this.
"Acid!" Misty ordered. Ash had an idea and immediately recalled the experience he had with Brock and he said,
"Send the acid back with confusion!"
Butterfree made a chittering sound and he caused the acid to glow white. He then sent it at full speed directly back at Tentacruel and some of the acid sizzled a bit when it touched the jellyfish's skin, but it effectively didn't do much damage. Still, it was a good way to dwindle his health down.
"I see your Butterfree has a psychic move, which is strong against poison moves. You better be careful, Tentacruel!"
Misty remembered the match in which Ash fought against Sabrina and the thunder in the room was transformed into a shock dragon that attacked Pikachu! She had a feeling that any special attacks that Tentacruel would use would have that same outcome, so she felt it was best to limit herself into using just physical moves. Erika was so proud of Ash and saw just how much stronger of a trainer he has become and wanted to keep seeing him grow, also hoping one day to battle him herself.
"Looks like we're gonna have to take a different approach," Misty said as she scratched her chin. "Hit Butterfree with another poison jab!"
Ash had to think fast. Tentacruel was quite fast despite his looks, and Ash saw the ice that still remained on that one platform, although it was starting to melt a bit.
"Butterfree, use confusion on that ice on that platform to block the attack. And fast!" Ash told his Pokemon as he was hoping this would cancel the attack of the other, otherwise it would be a super-effective move and could possible knock out Butterfree. The ice got transported with the psychic powers and collided with Tentacruel's tentacle, preventing the attack from connecting.
"Ugh, this is getting nowhere fast, but I will say, I like how this battle is going. Supersonic, Tentacruel! Let's put a stop to Butterfree's movements and give us an advantage!"
"Butterfree, you send out supersonic as well!" called Ash, hoping this would buy some time.
Tentacruel's red central orb began to glow and it sent out several rings with an irritating sound directly for Butterfree! Butterfree sent out his rings of confusion to Tentacruel, but Butterfree couldn't dodge the rings and his movements became very erratic and was hurting himself slightly, as was expected when confused. Tentacruel was also confused and slapped himself with his tentacle, causing damage to himself. He quickly shook it off though.
"Butterfree! I believe in you. You gotta snap out of your confusion and get back out there and fight!" Ash pleaded with the other, hoping it would knock some sense into the other.
"Acid!" Misty called now that there was an opening for her to use a special attack. The purple corrosive liquid was shot out of Tentacruel and hit Butterfly, causing him to chitter loudly in pain at how bad it felt. Ash remembered that Butterfrees had waterproof wings and could fly in the rain, so he wanted to test if Butterfree could stand dunking himself in the water to wash off the acid.
"Butterfree, dip your body into the water to wash off the acid! Then get ready for a counter attack!" Ash did not want it to end this way. Not yet. He felt that he would be complete if this battle ended in victory and he was giving all of his strength and trusted his Pokemon to pull through. He just had to win!
Butterfree snapped out of confusion and he washed the corrosive liquid off him and sighed in relief now that the pain had gone down tremendously.
"Now. Mega drain!" called Ash. Butterfree caused Tentacruel's body to get outlined with a green aura and caused energy beams to come right back to him, healing some of the damage that was done from the acid. Butterfree didn't look as tired now and could continue fighting with the water/poison-type Pokemon.
"How did Butterfree learn that move? That's not a normal move in his learnset, is it?" asked Misty as she was confused at what was happening.
"I had help from someone and let him have the TM so he could learn it," Ash explained as he looked at Erika and nodded. "Mega drain was how I was able to take out Brock's Graveler, and I am hoping it'll be enough to take out your Tentacruel!"
Tentacruel was looking rather weak from Machop's take down, the confusion attack, getting hit by ice, slapping himself with his tentacle, and now mega drain. Ash was surprised this battle was going so well as he initially had some doubts, but he couldn't breathe with a sigh of relief just yet. Misty had a feeling that Erika was the one who gave him mega drain to help Ash out. She initially had feelings of envy for Erika when she first met Erika at the perfume shop and when she met her the next day when Misty was leaving Celadon City because Misty thought the blunette was more poised and graceful than Misty was. But now her focus was just on beating Ash and moving on with her life.
"I'm glad to see you're becoming more skilled and okay with relying more on help when you need it," Misty said with a smile on her face. She remembered how Ash denied Misty from giving any help when he faced Brock several months back because Ash's ego didn't want him getting help from a girl. But now he was okay with getting it every now and then and wanted to improve for himself.
"Give Butterfree a poison jab!" Misty ordered, wanting to bring a decisive end quickly.
"Give Tentacruel another confusion!" ordered Ash. Tentacruel's glowing tentacle was reaching out for Butterfree, but the glowing outline of confusion stopped it and sent the tentacle launching backwards into Tentacruel's face! Tentacruel said his name and then his eyes swirled, unable to continue after putting up a strong fight against his opponent.
"Tentacruel!" Misty called out. "You did amazingly well. Return and take a good rest, okay?" The characteristic red beam of light withdrew the Pokemon back into his ball. "You've really impressed me so much, Ash, and I have one more Pokemon left. This Pokemon may not look like much, but here we go. Go..." The Pokemon came out of the light. "Seaking!"
"Seaking!" the beautiful goldfish Pokemon said.
"You've really been training, and now your Goldeen has evolved, too, huh?" Ash asked. Both he and Erika were captivated by the beauty and elegance of the fish and wondered what the best way to handle her would be.
"You bet I have!" Misty answered.
"Let me check Dexter really quick," Ash stated as he pulled out his device.
"Seaking, the goldfish Pokemon. During the autumn, these Pokemon can be seen swimming up rivers and creeks. During this period, their bodies are at the most beautiful coloration."
"Well, it is autumn and Seaking is very beautiful, but that doesn't tell me much about their fighting style," Ash said as he pocketed the device.
"I guess you'll just have to see, won't you?" Misty laughed. "Now, Seaking, use waterfall on Butterfree!"
"Waterfall?" Ash asked, as he was not familiar with this move. Seaking's eyes began to glow and soon, a column of water rose underneath Butterfree. Butterfree was caught in the water and could not move, but Seaking expertly began to climb up the waterfall in a zig-zag motion and tackled Butterfree. Butterfree flinched from this and was unable to move. It all happened so fast, but despite the fact it was quite a devastating blow against Butterfree, it was quite a spectacle.
"Finish him off with horn drill!" Misty commanded, eager to get an edge in the battle.
"Butterfree, try to hang in there and counter with mega drain!" Ash ordered, hoping he could get in one last move. Seaking's horn began to make a whirring sound as it was rotating super fast and she rammed it into Butterfree, causing the bug Pokemon to fall from the air and into the water with swirls in his eyes. Erika gasped at the bug type, sad to see that his battling was over and there was a chance Ash could lose now that they were both even.
"Uh...Butterfree, return!" Ash called back his Pokemon and put the ball on his hip. "You did such a great job and I'm proud of you. Now...You've shown me two of your Pokemon grown up, Misty, now it's my turn."
"What are you talking about, Ash?" Misty asked as she was genuinely confused with what the other was trying to say.
"Go!" Ash shouted as he threw out his Pokeball. "Kingler!" The light glowed and then faded and the Pokemon appeared on a platform.
"Cookie, cookie!" said Kingler's deep voice and he started clicking his pincers loudly, them making a shing sound each time. Ash was really hoping he could make use of that one large pincer this battle.
"So you managed to get Krabby to evolve. I can't deny this, but your Kingler looks mighty healthy and ready to battle, Ash," Misty praised.
"Thanks, and I'm amazed at how fast Krabby evolved, too," Ash repeated. "But now we are equally matched, and it's water type versus water type."
"Yep," Misty said. "Regardless of the outcome of this battle, I will let you know now that you've earned my respect, Ash. And I'm sorry that I've made you feel like you didn't deserve any when you've tried your best and considering your past."
Ash forgot about how he lied to Misty about why he couldn't get an earlier start with Pokemon and he felt guilty about it. But the reason why was just too painful to mention to others when he wasn't sure how they would react to something so personal and the potential that it could be used as a weapon against him. He felt entitled to the lie at the time he said it, but he couldn't take it back. Not that what was going on in his family's life was really anybody else's business.
"About that. I had said some things that were not true about my past because I didn't want to share my whole backstory at that moment and I just wanted to have an excuse. I know it's not the best thing to do, but I'm sorry that I lied to you," Ash said with tears in his eyes. He hated that he had done this and knew his parents would be mad about him lying like this. Erika was intrigued as to what specifically Ash was hiding, but she was not going to pry and would keep her comments to herself and support the other when the time came.
"It's so easy to just come up with an excuse, but I forgive you. I'm not perfect myself and have done it several times, but I'm willing to put our hard times in the past and just move forward."
The Pokemon were both just staring at one another, wondering what exactly was going on.
"I feel the same, but we have a battle to continue!" Ash told Misty with clenched fists. "Use vicegrip on Seaking!"
"Seaking, dodge that attack and get ready for fury attack!" Misty said as she was going to give this battle her all. Just because she had feelings that would never be returned to her did not mean she was going to give up a challenge and back down. She still wanted to be the victor of this battle. Seaking heading for Kingler and rammed him with her horn, but it was not doing much damage due to the hard shell of the crustacean.
"Give it up, Misty; Seaking's horn isn't gonna penetrate Kingler's hard shell that easily!" Ash said in an almost derisive manner. "Use bubble!"
Kingler blew some bubbles that collided with Seaking, but it didn't do much damage at all, barely causing the fish to blink.
"You're gonna have to do better than that, Ash!" Misty told the other. "Horn drill, Seaking!"
Seaking jumped out of the water with a whirring, spinning horn and jabbed it into Kingler, causing a fair amount of damage. Ash knew that Kingler's hard shell would protect him from major attacks like that, but it still could eventually down him.
"Catch Seaking when she dives at you, Kingler, and use vice grip!" Ash ordered. When Seaking came in for another horn drill, Kingler caught the Pokemon by the horn and let go momentarily to hit her with the smaller claw since the other one was way too heavy.
"Hang in there, Seaking, and use aqua ring!" She was hoping to buy some time and get Seaking to regenerate some health so she could think of a way to counter-balance Kingler. Seaking created three rings of water that span around and enveloped her, causing her to slowly regain health. Erika watched what was happening and hoped that Ash could bring an end to this battle soon, otherwise Seaking would be back to full health and increase the probability of losing.
"Seaking, use waterfall under the platform!"
Seaking's eyes began to glow and Ash thought of an idea now that he saw how this was going to work. He had to time this just right. "Hang in there, Kingler. It's gonna be alright."
Kingler trusted his trainer and let the fish Pokemon pick him up with the waterfall. While this may have seem counterintuitive and the best thing to do would be jumping into the water and avoiding the attack, there were some times Ash could be surprising in his strategy. Seaking began to charge up in a zig-zag fashion, but Ash called out,
"Use ice beam on the waterfall and the water directly around it!"
"What are you up to, Ash Ketchum?" asked Misty as she was amazed at the structure of ice that was about twenty feet high.
Krabby let out a beam of frigidity towards the waterfall, causing Seaking to get stuck in the process. "Now use vicegrip on Seaking and slam her into the ice below with your large claw!"
Kingler grabbed the fish's horn and dropped off the frozen structure and allowed gravity to amplify Kinger's move. Seaking took a large amount of damage from that fall, and Kingler aimed his huge claw with difficulty, but he ultimately was able to hit Seaking with it and it caused an explosion anime style and a splash.
Erika gasped as she saw how this battle was playing out; he had a lot of suspicions that maybe Misty had channeled in some of her harbored anger into getting super strong, but she could tell that Ash had put forth his work in this match, too. After Kingler had smashed Seaking, the smoke began to fade away and the outcome was decided; Ash had beaten Seaking! Seaking was floating in a hole in the ice and Kingler had scuttled off to the side.
"I...I won?" Ash asked almost dubiously as he was still in awe that his strategy had worked so well.
Erika and Misty both nodded and Misty said, "You sure did. You've proven how far you've come as a trainer and shown how quickly you can pick up the pieces after something bad. You deserve that Cascade Badge you got."
Ash started laughing as he realized that he actually had won! He nodded and thanked the other for this experience. "If you don't mind, I'd actually like to trade the badge I have for another one since it would prove that I earned it."
"Of course. That makes sense," Misty agreed with the other. "This new badge I'll give you will be for the official victory. Seel! Come here!"
In a few moments, the water Pokemon got out of the pool and went over to Ash and stuck out his tongue and presented a new badge. Ash took it and put the old one back on the other's tongue and Seel went back into the water to take the old badge to the place it belonged underwater. Ash clipped the new badge onto the inside of his jacket and did his signature pose.
Erika was so proud at what her friend and student had done, and the fact that he had grown and was able to handle his feelings and get "revenge" in a normal manner. Erika was afraid that there would be a messy confrontation that would leave Ash feeling even worse, but she was surprised at the amount of civility there was today.
"Regardless of who is by your side on your journey, Ash, I'll never doubt that you love them. I can tell there is a lot of love between you and the three Pokemon I battled against today, and maybe one day our paths will cross one another," Misty stated as she walked over to Ash.
"Misty, I do hope the best for you, too," Ash began as he watched her. There was no chemistry left between them, but Ash didn't want to wish harm on her nor harbor hate anymore.
"Please find Pikachu," Misty told the other. "I have a feeling he regrets leaving you and would love to be by your side again, no matter where you end up finding him." She had a soft spot for the electric type and was hoping that Ash would inform her of his return if he was found.
Ash nodded at the statement. "I hope that's the case, because I really am starting to worry about him. The only thing that I hate is, if I end up finding them, whom do I send back to Professor Oak? I already love my new gang, although at the moment I honestly feel indifferent for Fearow."
"You caught a Fearow?" Misty was interested.
"Yes. When I was a beginner and threw that stone at Spearow, he evolved into Fearow and I somehow ended up catching him because this one seemed to hold a particular grudge against me. I think I'll send him back first with Professor Oak."
"I see. What else did you catch, Ash?"
"I also caught a Rhyhorn at Diglett's Cave as well as a Growlithe just outside of Cerulean City. Apparently, this one is known as a thief around these parts," Ash explained to Misty.
"I hope you take good care of your Pokemon, Ash; I know you will," Misty told the other. "Oh, and before you go, I want you to have these two TM's of mine. Misty went over to her backpack and got them out. "Dragonbreath and water pulse. Dragonbreath will give you a good advantage because it can paralyze the target and I'm not sure that anything can resist dragon moves. And water pulse can confuse enemies!"
"Haha, all right! It'll be nice for Kingler to get an upgrade from bubble since it's such a fairly weak move," Ash told Misty. "And thank you, by the way." He took the two devices and put them in his backpack and while he was doing that, Misty saw the egg.
"Ash, is that...a Pokemon egg?" asked Misty.
"It certainly is! Sabrina's Haunter found it and gave it to me," Ash told the redhead. "I don't know what it'll turn into, but I'm eager for that day."
Misty nodded. "It's interesting that Pokemon lay eggs and there is no telling what is inside of it. It's a mystery that I wanna know now!"
"Heh, same," Ash said as he let her hold it. Erika smiled at it and said,
"As am I. I've never encountered anything like this, too."
Misty smiled lightly at Erika and Ash said, "I think it's time for us to go, Misty. You take care and maybe one day, we can battle again."
"You better train hard, Ash Ketchum, because I'll beat you! And you still owe me for that bike."
Ash sweat dropped when he heard that and made a reminder to get Misty a new bike once he earned enough money.
"I'll make note of it, once I get some money," Ash said as he was rubbing his two index fingers against one another in embarrassment.
The two finally made their official good byes and then Ash went to the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon. He was glad that this was behind him and he wanted to take Erika to a special place to confess his feelings.
And there we go! That's the battle with Misty. A much shorter chapter than the previous. Honestly should've just split it in two lol. I just couldn't stop writing and adding stuff to the last chapter! Hope you liked it and feedback is appreciated. And I'm open to any suggestions on Pokemon Ash should get or how you want this story to go and may even put up a poll if need be.
