Chapter 126: Countdown Part 6

"Terra Force!" Tai watched from the ground as Wargreymon formed a sphere of fire in his palms before he threw it straight at a Marinedevimon coming their way. The attack struck the huge black humanoid squid in its chest, making it roar in agony. The fireball seared through the skin, organs and bones of the demonic monster before shattering it into data.
"Positron Laser!" Imperialdramon's canon lit up as he targeted the next Marinedevimon in the group coming towards the Digidestined. The giant dragon fired his beam straight at his foes head, scoring a direct hit and killing it instantly. He arced his flightpath around, slicing through a second and third Marinedevimon as he finished them off too.
Tai was rather worried about the marine demons that were towering over all of their other foes on the battlefield because they could probably do quite a bit of damage if they got close enough. The Digidestined were on the ground and inside a perimeter barrier formed by various partners of the International Digidestineds' who'd joined them after the meeting and some of Andromon's Guardromon from the Digital World. The Leader of the Chosen had decided that they wouldn't be performing their ambushes on Dragomon's forces at the fog barrier from Imperialdramon's back like normal because he wanted the giant dragon let rip on their enemies and inflict as much damage as possible.
Wargreymon launched another fireball at one of the three remaining Marinedevimon, scoring a direct hit. It let out as scream as the sphere burnt its head and turned it to dust. The demonic squid's comrades seemed unbothered as they pressed on, moving closer towards the Digidestined with each step. Their cheeks started puffing out as they drew their heads back and Tai realised that they were about to attack. He gulped loudly as they took aim in his direction, targeting them because their partners had formed their circle outside of the digital barrier that was hiding the Digidestined.
Imperialdramon reacted quickly, firing his laser once more at the Marinedevimon on the left. It sliced through the limbs and chest of his foe, turning it into data and stopping its attack before he focused his beam on the middle foe. It roared in pain as Imperialdramon cut into its torso, deleting it instantly. Imperialdramon tried to take aim at the final demonic squid but he couldn't because the angle with too tight as he flew over the top of it.
"Dark Deluge!" The Marinedevimon's cheeks were at full capacity before he threw his head forwards and released his attack. Tai held his breath as the thick dark ink came straight towards them and he was now questioning his choice of the Digidestined being on the ground for this ambush.
"Great Tornado!" Wargreymon placed his gauntlets together and began spinning as fast as he could. The mega Digimon flew into the putrid ink, using his attack to disperse it as he aimed straight for the Marinedevimon. The tornado around Wargreymon's body reached the gigantic marine monster and pierced straight through its thick skin before the humanoid dragon ripped out the other side, leaving a huge hole behind. The Marinedevimon turned to dust before its lifeless body could even hit the floor, which allowed Wargreymon and Imperialdramon to return their focus to providing aerial support for their comrades on the ground.
Tai sighed in relief as their main threats were now dealt with for the moment. He was aware that more Marinedevimon could come their way from other areas around the fog barrier, but they could deal with that if it happened. Wargreymon saving them was a lucky escape for the Chosen though and he knew it. However, it wasn't really realistic for all of the Digidestined with him to be on Imperialdramon's back for this battle because there were so many of them.
Glancing around, the goggle-head could see the Chosen Digimon and Guardromon battling away on their perimeter line. Deep Ones and some marine Digimon were trying to break through but they were being stopped for the moment. It was a good test of their plans for the coming battle to liberate Tokyo from Dragomon because they were going to be surrounded for large parts of that battle too.
Explosions echoed through the air on a regular basis as the flying Digimon picked off any stronger foes amongst the Deep Ones, leaving the weaker ones for the ground Digimon to finish off. This tactic had been working for a while now and Tai wanted to keep going for as long as they could because they had already taken out a lot of Dragomon's forces in this area. They were drawing in a lot of the bad guys around them and had thinned out their numbers quite a lot since they'd set up and started their attack.
"It looks like everything is going to plan," Davis commented as he glanced at his friend. "This will make things a lot easier for the teams that will be clearing out this area in a week."
Tai cocked his head to the side as he wondered if Davis had been as worried as he was about the Marinedevimon just then. "Possibly. We've taken out quite a large number of Deep Ones and marine Digimon so far. Although, I'm expecting Dragomon to send more of his forces here overnight to cover the hole in his lines."
Davis shrugged. "Then we'll take those out tomorrow and leave Dragomon with even fewer allies for when we take back Tokyo."
"I wish that I could be so nonchalant about it," Ken sighed as he glanced around. "There's still plenty of Deep Ones and evil Digimon for Dragomon to call on even if we defeat a lot here today. We'll still have a lot of bad guys to fight in a week's time."
"I know," the burgundy-haired teen replied. "But I also know that every little helps in this case and it'll make it easier to break their lines like we're planning to."
"It would be good if Dragomon didn't replace the bad guys here," Keiko thought aloud. "That way, we'd be able to take control of the frontlines a lot easier."
"Unfortunately, Dragomon is aware of that too," Noriko replied to her friend as a sigh escaped her lips. "That's why he's going to reinforce these areas. However, it's also why it's a prime spot for us to do ambushes like this, because we're always going to have a lot of bad guys that we can beat here."
Tai gave his girlfriend a nod in agreement. "We'll keep taking out what we can as we head towards the battle in seven days. Kari and her team keeping places clear in Tokyo will definitely help us out too because that will ensure we have staging points to attack the frontlines from."
From the corner of his eye, the Leader of the Digidestined spotted what looked like some aerial reinforcements of Dragomon's coming their way. He could see the outline of lots of Skullbaluchimon and Pteramon as they made their way to help their comrades. Tai guessed that these must have been some of the flying Digimon that had avoided the battle between Daemon and Dragomon because it seemed like a lot of their aerial foes had been taken out during that fight and in Imperialdramon's attack at the end.
He was about to call out to their Digimon to deal with this new threat when his gaze fixed on Wargreymon. His partner was leading the way towards their enemies with Imperialdramon, Silphymon and several other Digimon following him. Tai watched as they powered up their attacks before releasing them at their targets, taking out large numbers in one go and making sure that the Digidestined remained safe within their defensive lines.
It was getting late so Tai was heading to his room to get some sleep. Even though he wasn't that tired, it had been a long day for him after he briefed the others on their plans to reclaim Tokyo and then gone out on patrols. They'd gotten back late and Tai had said his goodbyes to the International Digidestined before both he and Noriko went for their dinner. After eating, he needed to fill in a few reports and send messages to some of the other Digidestined to make sure that they knew their roles.
Noriko was with Tai too as they walked hand in hand down the corridor towards the Digidestineds' dorm. They were planning on sleeping in their own rooms tonight even if the couple didn't mind spending the night together. Although, the wild-haired teen did know that it depended on what Davis and Keiko were doing at that moment. After all, their friends had been sleeping together a lot, which hadn't left Tai and Noriko any other option but to share a room themselves.
The couple entered the dorms with Agumon and Elecmon behind them, and stopped outside of Tai's bedroom door. Tai turned to face his girlfriend and smiled before he placed his hand on her cheek. He noticed that Noriko wasn't blushing or being as embarrassed as she had been when they first became a couple, and it was obvious that she had gotten used to sharing expressions of love with him.
The two teens stepped closer and shut their eyes in anticipation of what was to come. Their lips meet and Tai locked his with his girlfriend's as they held them there for a few moments.
Noriko was first to pull back slightly before tilting her head a little to get a better angle. She pushed forwards for more, hinting to Tai what she was after. He opened his mouth a bit wider to deepen the kiss as he wrapped his other arm around his girlfriend and pulled her closer.
Noriko snaked one hand to the back of his head while the other slipped around his shoulders, making sure that their lips didn't come apart. Tai pulled back slightly before pushing forwards with more force, adding more passion to their kiss and getting a taste of his girlfriend. Her kissing had definitely improved since they had started dating and Tai was glad that Noriko was becoming more confident too. She was taking the lead at times and that was something the wild-haired teen liked.
The couple pulled back slightly before pushing forwards for more once again, deepening their kiss and adding even more passion. Tai had a feeling where this might be heading now and he wouldn't complain if it did go there. However, they were meant to be sleeping in their own beds tonight, or at least that was their plan.
They repeated their movements over and over, getting lost in the moment and enjoying themselves before both of them knew that they had to go their own way. Tai didn't really want it to end because he wanted to use his actions to show Noriko how he felt about her. He was falling in love with his girlfriend and he knew it. The young man wasn't going to stop himself though and he fully intended on indulging in that love because he wanted Noriko to be the one. The past month or so had made him certain that she could end up being the woman he'd marry in the future and he was determined to make sure that things worked out between them.
Soon enough, the need to breathe started taking over and made the couple pull back, breaking their kiss. It wasn't anywhere near as long as Tai was now wanting but he wasn't going to press the issue. After all, he didn't want to end up like certain other Digidestined couples or one married couple in particular.
He opened his eyes and watched as Noriko licked her lips before she pouted at him. It was very obvious to Tai that she would have liked more too, but they both knew that it was time to call it a night. The couple let the other out of their embrace and Tai took a step back towards his door.
"Goodnight." Noriko gave him a little wave before she moved closer. "Sleep well."
The couple shared a peck on the lips before pulling back once more. Tai smiled as he gazed into those dark brown orbs opposite him. "Thanks, you too. Goodnight."
He watched as his girlfriend began making her way down the corridor to her room before she her open her door. They shared another wave before Tai opened his door and glanced inside. His jaw suddenly dropped and his eyes widened at the sight that greeted him, prompting him to quickly put his hand down over Agumon's eyes to cover them.
Davis was there on his bed with Keiko, going at it, and completely oblivious to the fact that Tai had just walked in on them. He could see everything and he knew exactly how Kari, TK, Yolei and Momoe felt when they had caught him with his ex-girlfriend, Chizuru, on several occasions. His friends had no idea that they'd been caught and they seemed too fixated on each other to care.
Tai quickly and quietly shut the door, making sure that he didn't disturb them. After all, he didn't want to embarrass his friends and he didn't really want to interrupt them. He'd been the one caught in that situation far too many times, so he knew how they'd feel if he'd spoken up at that moment.
Glancing to his left, he saw Noriko standing in her doorway with a waiting expression on her face. It was obvious to Tai that she'd worked out what was going on too because her room was empty. He guessed that he was going to get his wish of spending the night with his girlfriend after all.
"They're in your room, aren't they?" Noriko asked as Tai made his way over to her. "I can guess what's going on by the look you gave them too when you opened the door."
"Yeah." He nodded before chuckling awkwardly. "Can I spend the night in your room?"
She gestured for him to come inside as she blushed a little and smiled. "That's a given."
"Cheers." Tai and Agumon followed his girlfriend into her room. "It's a good job I already have some spare clothes in here, huh?"
Noriko giggled as she closed the door behind her. "Yep."
The brunette girl's face turned a slightly deeper shade of red as she shuffled slightly awkwardly. She shifted her weight onto her other foot as she bit her lip before her dark brown eyes met Tai's gaze. His eyebrows rose as he wondered what was going through his girlfriend's mind. She definitely looked really cute at that moment.
Noriko took a deep breath before tentatively reaching out with her right hand and placing it over Tai's. He laced his fingers with hers as she gulped. The young woman gave him a smile as she turned and gently tugged on his hand. "I was going to have a bath before bed."
Tai knew that he wasn't as smart as Izzy was, but he didn't need all of that brainpower to understand what his girlfriend was hinting at. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze before following her towards the bathroom. "I was hoping to have a shower too before, well, Davis and Keiko got busy."
The couple stepped inside and closed the door behind them so that they had some privacy from Agumon and Elecmon. Tai smiled as he gazed into his girlfriend's eyes once more, loving how adorable she looked at that moment. Noriko bit her lip again before she stepped closer to her boyfriend, closing the distance between them.
Tai slipped his left arm around her back while brushing away a stray hair from her face with his right hand. Noriko laced both of her arms around the back of his neck, using them to pull him towards her. He cupped her cheek and tilted his head to get a better angle for the kiss that they both knew was coming.
Their eyes closed before they opened their lips and pressed them together. Tai held his lips there for a moment before he pulled back slightly and opened his mouth a little wider. He pushed forwards for more, deepening the kiss as Noriko mirrored his actions. The couple began repeating their movements over and over, quickly increasing the passion as they picked up where they'd left off.
Tai decided to make his move and give Noriko what she was after. His left hand slipped further down to her butt before he cupped her firm buttock through her black skirt. He could feel his girlfriend smiling before her right hand moved down to his chest. Her hand continued further until she grabbed the hem of Tai's shirt.
The goggle-head knew what his girlfriend was going to do, so they parted their lips as he pulled back. Their eyes reopened as Noriko pulled his shirt up over his head to expose his toned torso. She tossed it aside as Tai placed his hands on her red top, slowly sliding it upwards to expose her flat stomach and the scars from when she was attacked by the Deep Ones. Her lacy orange bra, which contained her more than ample breasts, was revealed next before he pulled her t-shirt over her head and quickly threw it aside.
Tai's hands slipped down to his girlfriend's black skirt, undoing it and allowing the garment to slide down her smooth legs to the floor. Noriko stood there for a moment in her orange underwear and Tai couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. She was stunning and he loved that she'd chosen his favourite pair of her underwear to have on.
Noriko's hands quickly made their way to his belt as she seemed intent on letting him know how she felt about him through her actions tonight. The button and zipper on his jeans were undone and she was pulling them down before he knew it. The couple kicked their clothes aside before closing their eyes once more to pick up where they left off moments ago.
Tai's lips crashed into his girlfriend's again as they kissed passionately in the bathroom. Both of them were intent on making sure their feelings for the other were clear and that there could be no doubt of their love. Noriko's hands began wandering once more, gliding over Tai's chest as she slipped her tongue into his mouth. Tai knew what was coming next as his girlfriend reached the waist of his boxers before sliding her hand inside.
He took this as his cue to move things forwards too, placing his left hand on the back of her bra to unclip it before his hand glided around to cup her large perky boob. Tai slowly trailed the fingers of his other hand over Noriko's smooth skin and down to her underwear. He deepened the kiss further before slipping his hand inside to start showing the woman he loved just how he felt about her.
I kind of felt like writing a more Tai-based chapter this time around and showing where he and Noriko are at in their relationship. It also kind of shows where Davis and Keiko are at too. I wanted to show how things are progressing in their romance lives before we get to the next big battle.
Thinking of battles, do you think that the Digidestined were over-confident in the battle at the beginning of this chapter? They had a close call and things could have been bad if it wasn't for Wargreymon and Imperialdramon.
