Chapter 3

1983

MORNING TIME

It has been a year since they became like this, Fredbear mused as he stood near some arcade machines watching some children play.

It had been a rollercoaster of a year for everyone, the hustle and fear of the 'Missing Children' event as it was nicknamed was starting to die down a bit. The restaurant was getting back to normal but not as busy as it usually is since some people were still uneasy coming to a place where two teens and 5 children died, which was understandable.

Fredbear hums as he glanced over at a guy reading the newspaper and saw a headline about a Pizzaria getting closed, Circus Baby's Pizza World, due to gas leaks or something but Fredbear overheard some employee's talk about how strange it was that Mr. Afton's daughter mysteriously died on the same day, was it due to the gas leaks? Shaking his head Fredbear thought about the second owner of Fazbears Pizza.

Wiliam Afton, the guy who killed them, had a wife who died in childbirth, two sons, and a daughter. Elizabeth has recently died, how was unknown but he hoped it was painless for the girl. The guy's sons were Michael Afton who was 14 right now and hanging out with some teenagers that liked to cause trouble, a bad influence they also bullied his brother Chris Afton behind Michael's back. Of course, the older brother picked on the youngest but it was mostly harmless jumpscares to 'try and toughen him up' as Michael would say.

Chris, now Chris was a different story, he was meek and shy and up until recently, he loved coming to the Pizzaria. Something happened a few months ago making him scared of the place or mostly the animatronics, minus Spring Bonnie, he was the only one Chris could tolerate being close to him enough without breaking down crying, that begs the question. What happened to him?

Fredbear really hoped it wasn't related to Wiliam, that guy was already a murderer hiding in plain sight and only those killed knew who he was would the guy really go as far as to hurt his own flesh and blood? He just couldn't shake this heavy feeling in his animatronic chest about this whole situation.

Fredbear moved away from the arcade machines and went over to the party area where Freddy and Bonnie were doing a song together while Chica was serving some Pizza to some kids and Foxy was telling some pirate stories to a few older kids. He frowns when he saw no sign of his brother until he spotted him near the entrance and exit knelt beside a table.

Concerned he went over to see what was wrong, only for Spring Bonnie to look over and gesture with his hand to stay back. When Fredbear looked under the table he saw why, it was Chris, he was crying under the table.

"Come on Chris, there's no need to be scared, do you want me to have an employee get your brother?" Spring Bonnie asked gently making Chris shake his head.

"Ha, Fredbear, can you get me some water and food? Maybe that will calm him," Spring Bonnie said looking up at him.

"Sure," Fredbear said as he left to go and grab the items.

After a few more gentle words Spring Bonnie managed to get Chris from under the table, only for the kid to sit on his leg as he was knelt down and buried his face into the golden bunny's chest.

"Easy, what's got you so upset?" Spring Bonnie asked patting Chris's head.

"I'm h-having nightmares r-recently," Chris said stuttering a bit.

"About what?" Spring Bonnie asked but frowns when Chris looks over at the four animatronics and his returning brother before hiding his face with a whimper.

"Ah, did one of them scare you?" Spring Bonnie asked at Chris's age of 6 and soon to be 7 years old, they could easily develop fears and phobias.

Chris didn't say anything as Fredbear placed some pizza on the table next to them with a cup of water before backing off, he went to check on some teens as they caused a disturbance. Spring Bonnie encouraged Chris to eat and drink before escorting the boy to the exit/entrance of the main area where he left to run off home.

"Poor kid, his birthday is in two days," Spring Bonnie mutters as he went to patrol the building.

LATER THAT NIGHT

Freddy chuckled as he watched Foxy rage about the card game of Go Fish he was playing in against Chica, and Fredbear with Spring Bonnie being the referee of the rules they made up to spice the game up.

"You gonna play next?" Bonnie asked moving to sit next to Freddy on the stage, the brown bear looks at his friend.

"Maybe, for now, I'm watching," Freddy said as he looks at Bonnie.

"Say, did...you find out what the strange feeling was by any chance?" Freddy asked keeping his voice low making Bonnie twitch as he felt the phantom heat of a blush on his cheeks.

"Y-yes I did, um," Bonnie said before leaning over and whispering it to Freddy, the bear jolts and looks a bit startled before looking a bit flustered.

"I-I see, well that changes things," Freddy said clearing his voice box making a bit of static.

"You two okay?" Spring Bonnie asked looking over at them.

"We're fine!" Bonnie said waving his hand making Spring Bonnie nod and go back to the game.

"Let's wait a while," Freddy said shaking his head.

The two sat in silence enjoying the banter of their friends and two older guardians.

NEXT DAY

Spring Bonnie growls as he made his way through the halls of the restaurant, today had been slow but Spring Bonnie had just seen those bullies run off looking like they were up to no good.

"Let me put! Please!" A voice yelled making Spring Bonnie gasp and follow it to parts and service, the door was blocked by a crate as someone hit the door.

"Hang on!" Spring Bonnie said as he knelt down and moved the crate aside and opens the door.

Chris fell out crying into Spring Bonnie's arms, the golden bunny stood up holding the boy close. He looked into parts and service and saw Foxy in powered down mode being prepared for updates and repairs today with his suit head missing, yikes! That would scare any kid.

"I got you, easy now," Spring Bonnie said moving away from the room and going to the main area where he saw Michael looking around.

"Michael," Spring Bonnie said catching the young lad's attention.

"Springs, ha, what happened now?" Michael asked sighing when he saw his brother crying, again.

"Some bullies trapped him in parts and service, Foxy had his head missing for repairs," Spring Bonnie said as Chris slowly calms down.

"I'll take him home," Michael said as he took his brother back and left.

"I best report this, I wonder if we can get those bullies kicked out?" Spring Bonnie said as he held his chin in thought before shaking his head and leaving to find an employee to report to.

NEXT DAY

Frdbear growls as he paced near Foxy's stage, he felt agitated, on edge. Something was gonna happen today, he just knew it. He looked over at the stage where he saw Golden Freddy performing, they were the unique animatronic for this site and were brought out on Fridays as a special performance.

He had the biggest urge to take the animatronic down, he looks over to see Spring Bonnie entertaining some kids. The others were in different parts doing various activities, minus Foxy who was 'relaxing' before his next show in a few hours.

Fredbear sighs as he went to patrol the area, he paused when he saw Michael make his way towards the bathroom with his favorite foxy mask on his head as usual. Fredbear shook his head and made his way over to the arcade machines.

Spring Bonnie hums as he sent the kids he was entertaining off to their parents, he sighs and stood up to brush his chest down when he heard yelling. He looked over at the source and to his horror, he saw the three bullies Michael hangs out with carrying Chris over to Golden Freddy on the stage, he moves running over to the stage but what happened next would shock everyone and scar many to come.

The bullies threw Chris into Golden Freddy's mouth, the animatronic paused as if shocked by this as their voice box turns to static. Right as this happened Michael left the bathrooms and returned only to see his little brother struggling in an animatronics mouth!

"Chris!" Michael yelled loudly making nearly everyone turn to see what was wrong.

"No!" Spring Bonnie yelled as he saw Golden Freddy's eyes turn black and a white dotted pupil, he felt the spike of anger as the dormant spirit sensed Chris's connection to his father.

Spring Bonnie jumped onto the stage as Chris yells, the animatronic's jaw starting to crush his head. Spring Bonnie moves to grab the front of the mouth, a hand on both upper and bottom jaw, and tried pulling the mouth open.

"Spring! Michael!" Chris yelled as he tried to get free as yelling rang out through the place.

"Argh!" Spring Bonnie yelled as Fredbear ran over grabbing the bullies while the other animatronics tried to keep panicking children and parents calm.

"Let him go, he's not the one," Spring Bonnie hissed out as he felt his servos start to overheat and strain.

Golden Freddy was using a lot of force, too blinded by rage and anger, he growls using more force when he felt a shock to his system.

'Golden Freddy...has magic!?' Spring Bonnie thought in shock as the small surge made Golden Freddy bite down harder.

"No!" Spring Bonnie yelled as he tried to stop it, he almost had Chris free! Just a little more!

Sadly at that moment, as Michael yelled and people tried to rush over and help. Maintenance workers yelling as security rushed in, Spring Bonnie's hands failed. His wrists broke, snapping at the joint making him fall back onto the stage. Blood coated the ground and Golden Freddy as Chris screams before going limp, Sping Bonnie's hands digging into Golden Freddy's face now bloody as well.

A shocked silence filled the pizzeria, parents covering their children's eyes from the gruesome sight, the animatronics themselves in shock at what was seen. Fredbear with wide eyes stared at his brother who lay still on the stage, he then looks down at the three bullies who were in a state of shock and disbelief, he gave a small growl making sure they stayed pinned to the ground they would face their actions one way or another he would make sure of it.

"CHRIS!" Michael yelled tears running down his face as Spring Bonnie groans twitching as he managed to push himself up.

'No...Chris, why Golden Freddy? He was just a kid' Spring Bonnie thought looking up at the sight.

He then heard yelling as parents were evacuated with their children, maintenance rushing as employees rushed around with some making calls while security came over to Fredbear who made sure to tell the security exactly what happened, the head guard looked upset as the three bullies were handcuffed and lead over to a corner to be watched as police and the local hospital was called in.

Michael had gotten free from his spot and climbed on the stage, trying to see past the workers who were trying to free Chris's head, it was difficult because of the blood making it hard to see. Spring Bonnie saw his hands be taken off and put aside, he looks over at Michael and got up with a bit of effort, and went over to the young man.

"Michael, I'm sorry I couldn't stop it," Spring Bonnie said he felt so bad, guilty, if only his servos hadn't failed him this wouldn't have happened.

Michael hiccups as he looked at the golden bunny, who knelt down showing the damage done to his arms.

"Y-you t-tired, S-Springs, y-you r-really tried," Michael said before crying more as Spring Bonnie moved and hugged him letting the boy cry on him.

Later after Chris was set free and taken to the hospital, Michael was picked up by Afton's friend Henry and taken home. The pizzeria was closed down as Golden Freddy was taken to be cleaned and put in powered down mode, the other animatronics were all in powered down mode with the exception of Fredbear and Spring Bonnie. The usual night guard was sick so they had been given free roam to guard the place for tonight.

So now Spring Bonnie was sitting in the security office with monitors in front of him, he sighs as he fiddles with the footage over the past month for anything entertaining. His hands fixed and reattached, it turned out to be a clean break and a quick fix.

"How are you feeling?" Fredbear asked entering the office making Spring Bonnie look at him.

"Better than earlier," Spring Bonnie said glancing down at his hands, now clean of blood.

"It won't go away will it?" Spring Bonnie asked looking up at the monitors.

"Not for a while, all we can do is move forward and prevent a repeat, ha," Fredbear said before reaching up and rubbing his forehead, a habit from when he was human, it showed he was stressed or annoyed about something.

"What's wrong?" Spring Bonnie asked glancing over.

"It's just...before I 'died' I managed to hit Mr. Afton with a bad luck curse, do you think that has something to do with Chris?" Fredbear asked lowering his arm looking uneasy.

"Bad luck curses only affect the one cast on, it shouldn't have affected his sons," Spring Bonnie said as he typed on the keyboard.

"Then why would this happen?" Fredbear asked leaning on the wall with his arms crossed.

"Golden Freddy, their spirit is so vengeful and angry they took it out on Chris, plus how could we have known this would happen?" Spring Bonnie said as he looked at more security footage.

"Your right, we'll have to keep an eye on Goldie then," Fredbear said he'll have to speak with Marion later about that animatronic.

Suddenly Spring Bonnie straightens up, his whole body going stiff, Fredbear blinks pushing away from the wall.

"What is it?" Fredbear asked but his brother held up his hand before pointing at the screen before them.

Confused Fredbear looks at the screen, it was at the entrance of the restaurant, he saw people coming and going. He glanced at the date and winced mentally, it was the date of their deaths. He was confused until Spring Bonnie rewound the footage. There near where one of the employee fire exits was located, just out of sight of the camera, William Afton could be seen entering. Then Spring Bonnie sped up the footage to a few hours later where Afton was seen running out, this showed he was at the location when he told the police he wasn't even at the place, to begin with, that day.

"I think we found some damming evidence," Spring Bonnie said as he pulled a thin cable from his wrist and hooked it up to the computer.

He quickly isolates the footage and placed it on another screen and on loop.

"Let's hope this is enough to send him to jail and get them some peace," Fredbear said making his brother nod.

"We can only hope," Spring Bonnie said as he looks at the footage.

A MONTH LATER

The Marionette sighs as she watched Fredbear punch a wall in anger, it has been a full month since the bite incident, Chris had died of his injuries in the hospital or so they thought. She glanced over to Golden Freddy who sat limply having their endoskeleton partly removed, they were decommissioned for being too dangerous.

Turns out Chris's soul was now inside the suit with Cassidy, he had freaked out but calmed down thanks to Spring Bonnie. Chris now kept Cassidy asleep, his calmer and gentler soul had taken over it with Marion's help but the side effect was Chris could now teleport how that worked nobody knew, Fredbear put it down to a side effect of stabilizing Chris since he shared a suit instead of being the single inhabitant.

However, that's not why Fredbear was mad, no, it was because of William Afton. The footage had indeed been a damming piece of evidence enough for him to be brought in and investigated, a trial was held but Afton was sneaky and bought his way out with a minor community service due to something else he had done. Still, he had a small criminal record now at least people would be wary of him.

This had upset the animatronics, causing the child spirits to get angrier, a few days ago a guy in the security office got badly injured by Foxy. Not even the brothers could calm them from this rage when it hits, strangely they could somewhat calm Freddy and Bonnie down if they got too worked up.

Also, a big change was coming, due to the bite incident this location was closing down and they are being moved to a new, bigger, location. What worried Fredbear and Spring Bonnie was the talks they overheard the management discussing, mostly about replacing things and newer models.

So, yeah, Fredbear was a bit upset, outside Spring Bonnie was blocking Bonnie from going down the hallway to reach the guard. He managed to get the indigo rabbit to calm down and guide him back to the stage area, the golden rabbit sighs shaking his head.

'What a mess' Spring Bonnie thought as he looked around the area before going down to the security office.

"You doing okay Bobby?" Spring Bonnie asked the guard, Bobby, who relaxed at seeing him.

"Hey Springs, thanks for the save, I don't know what's gotten into them recently, must be one hell of a glitch," Bobby said looking at the computer monitor screens.

'Try some souls instead of a glitch and there's your answer' Spring Bonnie thought sarcastically before he decided to get straight to the point.

"I heard we'll be moving, is that true?" Spring Bonnie asked making Bobby lookup.

"Yeah, the company is rebranding to Fazbear Entertainment, they got a new location, much bigger than this place, I heard they're gonna try something new with the bots?" Bobby said reaching up to scratch his chin.

"Replacements?" Spring Bonnie asked tilting his head.

"I think they're gonna either upgrade the main four or replace them," Bobby said as he hums before shaking his head.

"I wonder what will happen to Fredbear and me? Will we be upgraded or replaced?" Spring Bonnie said a lot of work had gone into them since the incident, a lot of programs and equipment as well.

"Nah, they won't replace ya, might upgrade ya, you guys are very popular with the kids and parents, you guys give this place a...feeling of safety and I guess a fatherly feel to the kids," Bobby said with a chuckle.

That was true, they did act parentally to the children, it just came naturally.

"Good to know, want any pizza?" Spring Bonnie asked making Bobby shake his head.

"No thanks, I ate before my shift so I'm good for a few hours, hmm, can you check on Chica? I think she's trying to get into the kitchen," Bobby said as Spring Bonnie nods and left the office.

"A new bigger place, hm," Spring Bonnie mutters to himself.

'Let's see how this goes' Spring Bonnie thought as he made his way to the kitchen to hopefully stop Chica before she destroys the toaster...again.
