Chapter 1

New Normal

As the pandemic started, the whole country was put into a lockdown which caused businesses to temporarily close and the entertainment industry to slow down as they followed the safety protocol in order to keep everyone safe.

Actors and everyone who works on the entertainment had their awaited breaks and able to rest at home.

However, as the situation got longer they grew bored and started to create and jump on social media trends.

Chaos started when the top actor and most desirable man of Japan shared his own take of his personal lockdown situation on his official page.

Fans and their other colleagues took the hint after their obvious- sweet interactions during behind the scene clips from their movies and dramas together or even interviews. But when Tsuruga Ren revealed his actual relationship with his Kohai and their intimate situation living under the same roof with their domestic bliss, all hell broke loose and caused the social media sites to have a temporary maintenance after the massive usage traffic.

Nonetheless, his fans and Kyoko's combined, were amused to know another side of him which they describe as; 'clingy and childish' totally different from his usual serious, professional and perfect gentleman persona. The man was goofy and adorable around his equally cute and lovable girlfriend.

It all started when Ren posted their usual routine dealing with chores, "Are you done separating the whites?" the actress inquired. Ren who finally finished the task adjusted his phone camera making sure to get the correct angle. Kyoko who is only wearing Ren's plain black oversized shirt; like a pajama dress and Ren with only his jogger shorts- helped her load the machine with their clothes.

"Here." Ren handed her the detergent.

Expertly taking the cup with the powder without looking, "Thanks" and pouring it to the machine. Their laundry room looked cozy and satisfyingly organized with all the jars full of pods, laundry powder and a clear jug with fabric softener.

While waiting for it to finish, Ren carried the squeaking Kyoko sit on top of the machine and trapped her between his arms and started to tickle her neck with raspberry kisses, Kyoko burst into giggles from the teasing and sweet kisses, it didn't help when Ren made a lot of laundry puns and dad jokes.

Pushing Ren a bit to give her some room to breathe, "What do you want for lunch?" She asked.

"You." playfully wagging his eyebrows which caused Kyoko to pinch his nose.

With a pout, "I'm serious." she sternly pressed.

With his American shrug that Kyoko dreads, "Anything you make is perfect, but I want something light." He requested.

Rolling her eyes, "Pesto Pasta it is." She decided and Ren agreed since he's not a big meat lover.

With his recent upload, his avid fans and women-all-over-Japan were unpleased that he was actually taken and managed to keep his relationship with the Eternal Butterfly for two years. Still, they were not that mad; knowing the actress earned her spot after establishing herself to the industry after taking countless roles ranging from; villain, supporting and main character. Hell, they were even impressed when they learned that the former talent played the giant iconic roster of the loved music variety show and the fact she joined the prestigious LME agency as a mere talent under a department created just for her and never received a single penny in exchange for experience and training.

The girl earned her way to stardom through grit and dedication, and once everyone got to know the top actress through her friends, colleagues and bosses as the sweetest, kindest and earnest lady that she is other than her professionalism that can compete with her senpai and lover.

Kyoko started to make their meal, "Boh?" Ren called and smothered her neck with sweet kisses which she allowed by giving him access.

"Yes?" She giggled at the ticklish feeling, "I'm cooking, Corn. Do you need anything?" She asked.

Ren showed her his phone, "I got a comment, asking if you can teach one of my fans some easy recipe, she said her boyfriend is coming down with a cold." Ren strategically positioned his vlogging camera by the counter to get a good frame angle.

"Oh no!" she gasped, "Is he okay? They need to see a doctor, that might be something else, especially in today's cases-" She said in concern. "And sure I can teach her some simple soup and light meals recipes." she happily agreed.

"You heard Boh, you better get your man checked first and she'll happily help you learn how to cook. Though, we can request Leo nii-san next door if he can check on them, he's from the emergency response team right?" Kyoko nodded and approved of the idea. With that they received positive response. And with private communication to Ren's fan, Kyoko decided to send some few things over for them to help. Kyoko's recipe was simple to follow, they knew she is a big and talented cook and can pass as a Chef but with the instructions she made it helped Ren and her fans know a simple yet filling nutritious meal.

After helping out one fan and sending her plenty of dish Kyoko personally made and some medical necessities with the help of their nii-san neighbor, their official page as well as the social media application their fans were using blew up after that one fan posted an appreciation post; attached with the items and food the couple sent.

The celebrity couple replied immediately with a pleased message and glad that Ren's fan's boyfriend only had a cold and fever and no covid.

Funny how the President of LME has been following and teasing them both and their managers wanting to visit.

One day while the two are busy vacuuming and cleaning the house, they can hear mewling from their front door Kyoko and Ren looked at each other and gave the door little opening to see. A black mop of long fur dashed in their apartment and hid under their foyer's dresser.

Staring each other- startled, Ren dropped on the floor and tried to coax the cat to come out but it was shivering and mewling. Kyoko felt bad and also laid flat on the floor with little bit of meat convincing the poor kitty out.

Ren in concern, "I think it's either the neighbor's dogs or the heavy rain that caused the poor thing to be this scared." Ren stated and tried to reach out for the cat, there was no hissing, just loud meows and shivering, the long fur was drenched. His question was answered when the poor cat croaked a mewl when a loud thunder banged.

"I'll call the security and know if our neighbors owned a cat." Kyoko stated and went to get the phone, and it didn't take the actress long, "He said, there was no reported missing cat." Shaking her head.

"I'll get my phone and see if anyone in the neighborhood lost a cat." Ren said and Kyoko in her tank-top glory is holding the towel burrito wrapped cat in her arms and giving it gentle pets, chin scritches and cooes. Ren recorded them and made the announcement about a missing feline.

There were comments asking them to keep it, "We can't what if Mr. Pepper has a family? They would be sad." They can see the sadness in Kyoko's eyes and Ren knows she wanted to keep the male cat.

"Boss, called a vet to visit us." Ren also informed Kyoko.

For the whole day they waited for any notifications or news that the cat has an owner, sadly there is none yet. The vet came by as well and told them the kitty wasn't chipped and is healthy which pulled a giant thorn from the couple's heart.

"Mr. Pepper" the cat who is settled on her kitchen's island counter; cutely posed on a stiff sitting position showing the little white patch on his chest.

"Mr. Pepper is a Norwegian forest tuxedo kitty, he is quite the scaredy gentleman. He's really the sweetest, how come no one claims him?" she posted and Ren would catch her snuggled close to the cat in their bed.

"Our Japan's gentleman has been replaced by a handsome four legged man." Kyoko's other bestfriend wrote which the actress commented with emojis.

For few days they waited and Ren enjoyed having the cat around, it felt that the creature filled the void in their home. "Boh?" Ren called snuggled with her.

She hummed in response, cuddling both Ren and the cat, "If ever someone claims Pepper, can we get a cat or a dog?" he asked and Kyoko hugged the animal closer not wanting to return it.

"We can, but what if no one takes Pepper?" She asked.

"All the better." Ren said as he kissed her. They were napping until Ren opened a notification. Kyoko scooted closer and started reading a picture comment.

"I think that's the cat I usually feed by the park, he's really gentle and cute. As much as I wanted to take him home its sad I can't since my mom's allergic to animals. But I think Mr. Stray found a nice family from both Kyoko-sama and Tsuruga-san." finishing it with a flower and emoji hearts. The picture was a kitten Pepper with his recent ones with few other cats from the neighborhood he is from. Ren's face gleamed with happiness and looked at Kyoko.

Ren wore a cheeky smile that mirrored his girlfriend's, "I think its time to take down our notice and let them know he found a home?" That was the only sign they were waiting, that the cat is not being owned by anyone. Kyoko tightly hugged the fluffy cat close.

"Welcome to our home Mr. Pepper." She shared kissing the cat who looks less amused.

Ren also shared his own and his father having to use a fake account with fake name under Tsuruga hilariously commented which surprised his fans of the sudden appearance of his father.

"Seriously, we leave you for eight years, relieved that you finally landed yourself a good girl only to know that you gave us a 'furry' grandchild?" it was accompanied with disappointed emoji and it made Kyoko to hysterically laugh.

"Wait." Ren wrapped the cat into a swaddle and handed it to Kyoko who is in bed, she cradled Pepper like a new born and Ren tagged his father, "Congratulations, its a bouncing furry boy"

Ren's hilarious response caused his and Kyoko's fans to make it a meme, "Your fans did not expect you were this fun." Kyoko giggled at him as he irons and fold their laundry while Kyoko is cooking.

"No one did since all I do is be serious and professional." He snorted.

Extra: Soulmate

Kyoko narrated through the collective videos Ren made for their new furry child, "Mr. Pepper entered our lives in the right moment. This kind of words sounded scratched and used but it is the truth." It was for the popular pet channel online, they were contacted through their managers and hoped to be part of the popular content, "Despite me and Ren have each other and love spending our day on each other's side, occupied with our daily chores, we have to admit, we were missing something and we have no clue what it was, until this little ball of drenched fur came to our lives." Ren beside her agreed.

"Pepper became our new light, keeping us on our toes with the plants around the house. Our boring chores got to be more threatening and thrilling after falling vases and chewed plants are added to the list." Ren laughed. "But having him around made us better. We're not ready for responsibility but this little furball taught us that we can be okay, parents." Ren shrugged and gave the furry subject some much needed affectionate scritches.

"Besides, after he made his appearance, I think he's more popular with his Papa's fans." Kyoko gave a laugh.

"My dad has a love hate relationship with him too." Ren heartily laughed at the recent posts.

Their online interview for the pet channel shared short clips and pictures of their life with their new Tsuruga member especially the cute video call Pepper had with Kuu who has been cooing at the cat.

And by the end of the clip, Ren and Kyoko's name were changes into their cute pet names; Corn, Boh and Pepper. Their little interview on dodo got them more trending and the other celebrity couples could not keep up.
