I emerged from my bath, refreshed and rejuvenated, padding into the bedroom. Garrus was reading a datapad on the bed, leaning against the headboard, propped up by several pillows. He was engrossed in it, not reacting to me walking into the room.

I climbed into the bed, slipping under his arm and snuggling my body into his, resting my damp head on his shoulder, "Whatcha readin'?"

"A report on Bastion. They're starting to make progress on the housing for the eezo core." Garrus answered.

I pretended to fall asleep, loudly snoring, but I couldn't keep the charade up and laughed. "Boooooooorrrrring."

"Hey, you asked," He said with a shrug. "So, how was your bath?"

"It was fantastic. You should join me sometime."

"Hmmm," He hummed, the rumbling passing from his body to mine pleasantly, "I might do that." We laid in companionable silence for a moment before Garrus turned off the datapad and set it on the bedside table, "How was your birthday?"

"It was perfect. Nice and relaxing, and I spent it with my favorite people in the galaxy. And I got fresh strawberries… You can't beat fresh strawberries…." I trailed off, walking my fingers up his cowl, an almost nervous air surrounding the action, "There's something I wanted to ask you."

"Shoot."

"Do you want more kids?" I squeezed my eyes shut, preparing for a denial.

"What got you thinking about this?" He asked.

'Well,' I thought, 'it wasn't a denial….'

"I dunno, I just turned thirty-seven, or thirty-five, depending on how you count it. A human woman can only have kids until about forty… I don't know if the Cerberus mods change that at all, and-" Garrus's finger over my lips paused my nervous monologue.

"I do."

"You do what?"

"I want more kids with you." He smiled, wiping the tear of joy that fell from my eye, "Just one question, though…. Are you adverse to sleep or something?" His tone made it clear that it was a rhetorical question.

I laughed, "I slept when I was dead." Becoming more serious again, I smiled, "Thank you."

Silence prevailed for a few minutes. I curled up against Garrus's side, enjoying the warmth coming off of his body. "What time do you leave tomorrow?" He asked.

"Early morning, traffic will be bad, so we'll need to get an early start."

"I'll take you," Garrus offered.

"You sure? I'm fine taking a taxi."

"I insist; I want to see you all off."
