Chapter – 5

The Rogue Prince

The halls of Dragonstone are as silent as a grave when they heard the news of Aegon's betrothal to the dornish whore, Rhaenyra had raged and send letters to her father to break the betrothal but his weak brother informed her that Lord Dayne had already accepted the match and a rejection now would break the brittle peace between Dorne and the Iron Throne. It came as no surprise to Daemon that his wimp of a brother folded so easily to his treacherous nephew's demands.

Fortunately for them, his cunning nephew could not remove the lords loyal to Rhaenyra from court, lord Caswell have sent news that the cur Aemond was betrothed to one of lord Borros Baratheon's daughter causing him to laugh uncontrollably. The Green faction's stupidity in thinning the dragon blood was baffling to him, they have let Valyrian blood breed with weak houses and sowed the seeds for conflicts later.

Once he gets rid of Aegon and Aemond, he would arrange an accident for Princess Helaena's husband and mayhaps keep her for himself once he gets bored of Rhaenyra. The Sea Snake has been in a panic over some of his missing bastards and accused Aegon of this treachery, but no one can find them anywhere, though some suggest it is Vaemond Velaryon himself who killed the boys and threw their bodies into the sea.

His spies on the Stepstones reported that a dozen Ironborn ships were set ablaze in anchor and ten more ships were sunk in the last moon. It seems his nephew is fool enough to incite war with the Ironborn as Lord Dalton claimed a survivor from these attacks had seen two dragons burning their fleet at sea and one of them has golden scales. The Hand dismissed this as treason against the crown and said the crimes was committed by one of the wild dragons of Dragonstone, which he knew were not responsible.

What was baffling was Aegon's secret counsel with the bastard daughter of the late Lyonel Strong, both Aemond and Aegon were seen seeking the wet nurse who is rumored to be a woods witch. This could only benefit their side later once he spreads word of the pious prince's dalliances with the low born milk cow.

But he has to admit that Aegon is a true warrior, he himself saw how quick and brutal his nephew fights along with the strange fighting moves he learned from his Leng'hi guard that broke Daemon's own arm and forced him to yield. Although he was good as a leader and have all the great Targaryen traits like Daemon himself, the boy was too weak and merciful, while becoming a lickspittle to the faith.

Neither can Daemon trust his other nephews, Aemond or Daeron, one is a cheap imitation of Daemon himself and the second a green boy in service to the Hightowers. But he has to give credit to his nephew for creating the mummer's farce group called 'the order of the Dragonknights' and using it to eliminate the black's allies from the capital.

Mayhap's Aegon's marriage is as good an occasion for him and Rhaenyra to visit Kingslanding and reaffirm their allies. He might as well charm the Dayne girl and see if the Dornish harlot opens her whore legs to him before her bedding with the weak Aegon. T'is a shame his nephew got rid of Mysaria and Mushroom, they might actually entertain him during his stay from his brother's boring speeches.

Alys Rivers

She has never believed the prince to be a madman, but neither could she believe she could enthrall a Targaryen prince either. She was surprised when prince Aegon and Aemond visited Harrenhal on their dragons carrying her lord and bastard brother Larys Strong with them. For the next few week she was thoroughly grilled by the young Dragon and her half-brother regarding the dark rumors surrounding her being a witch.

The prince assured her she will be spared and enquiring if she really was a Strong bastard and promised to legitimize her if she helps him in his plots. She was baffled that the prince knew so much about warging, weirwoods, and greensight abilities of the first men. Her brother was a silent spectator along with prince Aemond in most of these meetings.

She nearly struck the prince when he asked if she really sacrificed her babes for maintaining her beauty, and cried thinking about the price she paid to the old gods when she almost died during her first pregnancy. She admitted to have dabbled in magic and told him about the visions she saw in the fire.

The prince made her swear a blood oath of loyalty to the green faction and sent her away to the newly built Summerhall. She was surprised by the prince's gesture but nonetheless obeyed as she saw that prince Aemond was taken with her during their stay.

She suspected Aegon knewabout his brother's interest and charged him to take her to Summerhall, which the prince accepted. She flew on the monstrous Vhagar clinging to Prince Aemond for dear life till they reached Summerhall. The castle was being built quickly as the Prince ordered servants to find her a chamber, clearly the lad was lusting after her which could either benefit her or destroy her.

Days passed and slowly the prince invited her on hunts with the other knights and flew her on Vhagar to Riverlands and back. It all started one night when a thunderstorm forced the prince to land near some caves in the Stormlands and they took shelter in nearby caves. The prince lit a flame and she caught a few blind fish swimming in the cave. She could sense some trace of magic within the rocks of the cave which might have been inhabited by the children. The Prince asked her more questions on the old gods and children, once they ate she shared a makeshift bed of leaves and branches with the prince.

She can feel his gaze on her bosom and neck, when a thunder rolled outside she hugged him tightly and felt his warmth comforting. But before she can gather herself and apologize the prince kissed her and she found it hard to resist and kissed him back. The young prince was not a skilled lover but he made up for it with his persistence.

She pleasured the prince multiple times and he spilled his seed many times in her quim as their passion ran hot. By the morning, the prince was apologizing to her and asked for her hand in marriage, but she rejected her offer as she remembered Prince Aegon's threat. Strange that Aegon asked her to share her brother's bed and birth him a son. She comforted Aemond by saying hehas a duty to house Baratheon but promised to warm his bed before he got married to which the prince reluctantly agreed.

She wondered how strange this Targaryen children with Hightower blood are that a future king commanded her to birth his brother a bastard. That might be the reason that Larys supports the green branch over the blacks. She knew war was inevitable and if every male on the Green's side dies and she had a son, then he would claim the Iron Throne with the support of Green Loyalists, but that would only remains a fantasy with Aegon's pending wedding to the Dornish girl. She found the Targaryen's strange and ironic considering she was to warm the princeling's bed and breed for him as her half-brother Harwin Strong bred Aemond's half-sister Rhaenyra.

Trystane Truefyre

He had never believed himself to be a Targaryen, considering his mother died when he was a child, but prince Aegon convinced him he was the bastard son of King Viserys. He still could not fathom that he shared blood with both the Young Dragon and the Dragonknight, yet his brother convinced him before sending him away to the Stormlands.

He met lord Borros who treated him well and set him to squire for ser Raymont Estermont, his cheeks grew red whenever the four storms flirted with him shamelessly. By the seven, lady Floris woud be his good sister once she marries ser Aemond, mayhaps lord Aemond now. He would do anything for his family though he heard queen Alicent was not fond of him.

He heard rumors from men-at-arms that the Dragonknight had taken a woods witch as a concubine at Summerhall, and soon both lady Floris and lord Baratheon was angry. One day, while he was sparring with fellow squires in the courtyard, he saw his brother Aegon land Sunfyre in the courtyard. His brother greeted him fondly and asked about his stay at Storms End. Later shouting could be heard in the round hall with Lord Borros screaming dishonor and treason but somehow his brother managed to calm the lord.

His brother sparred with him and spoke with him in private, encouraging him to keep out of the war and promised to make him a household knight. He shared his insecurities with Aegon and expressed fear that people call him a fraud but his brother promised him they would be brothers for life regardless of blood. He was crying as he remembered the prince had always been kind to him, by the time Aegon left promising to return with lady Dayne after his marriage. He was never one for emotions but he felt sad he could not attend his brother's wedding in Kingslanding due to fear of queen Alicent and princess Rhaenyra.

He vowed to the seven in the local Sept that day he would fight for Aegon's cause even if it meant his life, his brother a pious and honourable man deserved to rule Westeros as King, not that selfish whore Rhaenyra. He will fight a dragon if needs be and kill that rogue Daemon himself to seat Aegon on the Iron Throne, for he was sure his brother would be ten times the King Jahaerys was, and will lead Westeros into a golden era.

Note: Thank you for the continued comments and support. Up next is the royal wedding and more shenanigans will ensue when the Greens and Blacks face each other. Yes, you guessed it, Alys Rivers will play a key role in the upcoming dance and any guesses what her son's name would be ?.
