During the funeral, I yearned to be next to her and hold her; I didn't want to ruin her reputation being associated with me. Her name will be dragged down because of me. Anyone other than me. They passed out. I carried her to her room and dropped her in bed, and kissed her forehead. I promised myself I would distance myself from her even if it hurts me as I cannot bear to see her hurt. I dragged drunken Baek Ak to the palace and also dropped him in his chambers.

The next day, all the Prince except the 8th prince were in Damiwon. I went with Baek Ah to nurse his hangover. I cannot stop thinking about her; everything around me reminds me of her. I will always respect Yeon Hwa being a strong and independent woman who relentlessly fights for her survival and power. I guess the pot is calling kettle black because I am going to do the same. I need the power to live a peaceful life with my loved ones. Other than that, I do not need the power to bully people.

Before climbing into the palanquin, the princes were here. In the plot, they attempt to rescue Hae Soo, but they will be caught. Sorry boys, no rescue this time. I am getting what I want. Within the next few minutes, we both were married, we were escorted back to the palace while the Clan leaders left to address the Khitan issue as soon as possible and thanked the King for holding the marriage in a short span.

Things were going fast. The next thing I know, we were escorted to a different place in the palace, apparently a gift from my father for my marriage. As our clan members' family residence is very far, we were asked to stay inside the palace, unlike other Prince's. Our place was very far from the court in a much-secluded area. I am pleased with the choice of my home. Home. Married. . I was asked to change in another set of robes for the bedding ceremony while other maids were preparing her.

After getting dressed, I went to our room. I find her sitting in the middle of the futon. She stood up to greet me. I rushed towards her and kissed her. Initially, she was shocked and tried to push me away, but she gave up and kissed me back.

When I reached the temple, I looked up the stairs to see him standing in dark blue robes that could be passed as black robes. He gasped at my appearance. I was so happy to know that I had so much effect on him. The wedding went without a hitch. We were escorted to our new home inside the palace. The next thing I know, they were preparing me for the bedding ceremony. No way in hell. Do I love him? Yes. Does he love me? I don't know. Do I want him to kiss me? Yes. Do I want to have sex with him? Maybe later, but not now. That jerk is dead if he lays his finger on me inappropriately.

I was placed in the center of the futon, waiting for his arrival. I stood up when I heard the door to the room open. Before I could greet him, his mouth was on mine, I tried pushing him away, but he was really strong didn't budge. I gave up; I threw my arms around his neck and opened my mouth to welcome his tongue, and kissed him back. My knees gave out; the next thing I know, he was lying on top of me. He didn't stop kissing; I was going dizzy without oxygen in my system. Finally, I broke the kiss and breathing heavily. He was staring at me and bent down to kiss me. I put down in between and pushed his face. "Kiss me again; I will kill you," I warned him. He sighed and sat while I sat next to him.

"Is this what you want?" he asked me. "now, you ask me." He was staring dejectedly. 'you charged at me like a maniac and kissed me, now, you are asking me is this what I want?" he was silent. I sighed, "I knew I was getting married to you. The elders approached me first. They wanted me to get married to someone else in the imperial family, but I insisted on marrying you." He asked. "why?". This guy is dumb; I need to spell everything out for him "Well, because I like you."

"You like me?"

"yes, I do. Don't ask me when I started liking you because I don't know."

"Stop and eat" I am famished. That bastard's opinion about me is shallow.

We were eating silently; then he asked me, 'Who did your clan members initially suggested you get married?"

I replied, "Your father," he choked on his food. "What, my father?"

I replied, "Yes." "How did you get them to form an alliance with Prince, particularly me rather than a King?"

I told them, "The chances of me having a child with your father are very low compared to you," he choked again. I passed water to him while rubbing his back. He yelled, "What?"

We were done with the food; I laid down on the futon he sat next to me. "Deep down, I knew that you didn't like Baek Ah when you told them that you were happy with the decision of the clan members. I am happy that you fought with your clan members to marry me. I promise that I will protect, treasure, and love you till my last breath" I touched his back, he turned and looked down at me. I was smiling at him. "I know you would fulfill your promise, and I don't doubt you even for a second. Now, shut up and get sleep. We have a busy day ahead."

I cannot believe what happened over the last 24 hours, even when I look at her sleeping form right next to me. I cannot believe it. I pulled her into my arms while she was sleeping and kissed her forehead.

My emotions were shooting up and down from the moment I was told when I heard that she was going to marry someone else. I was shocked when I found that someone was me. I was happy when I kissed her, and she kissed me back. I was sad again when I realized she married me, an evil guy who can kill people. I was happy when I found that she knew about my reputation and still wanted to marry me. I was ashamed when I told her about Baek Ah. I was angry to find out that she almost got sold off to my father, of all people in the imperial family. I was proud and happy that she fought for us. I was ashamed; I don't do anything for us. She trusted me when I promised her to cherish her till the end of my breath.

She woke me from slumber, "Get up, we have so many things to do." She was smiling down at me. She was mesmerizing. I pulled her down and kissed her senseless. We broke our kiss when she pinched me. "Do it next time; it will be more painful." She got up and moved to her room next door. It is highly unusual for a married prince to stay in the palace. I wasn't allowed to stay with my birth mother's clan's house while my adopted clan and her clan are up in the north near the border. We are staying in a very small place in the palace with three rooms. Though it was small, it felt like home. Our breakfast was brought to us, we both were dressed for the day and eating in peace. She didn't tell me about our plans when I asked. Our peace was disrupted by my brothers, who barged into the room. That startled her, whereas I was calm and collected because I heard them talking with the maid. 13th and 14th Princes were standing before us. "sit down, join us for breakfast before you can all question us," I told them. They joined without fuss, but they didn't wait till the end.

"You both got married?" Baek Ah asked

I sighed and dropped my chopstick, "Yes, we got married last night." Then he turned to Jung, "an evil guy who can kill people, ah?" Baek Ah asked Jung in a sarcastic tone. Jung was about to retort before my wife intervened. "Stop it, both of you; I don't have time to listen to your argument. Yes, your highness, we are married, and we are happy that we got married. I don't encourage you both going around calling my husband and your brother as an evil person or other names" They look ashamed. "Now, we got things cleared, let's eat peacefully. We both have a long day ahead."
