"Oh, another child! My poor dear, you must be so lost!" Toriel clapped her hands to her mouth, fluffy brows furrowed in worry.
*Oh. My fuck. She is absolutely adorable.
I mentally snorted, trying to keep a straight face. Yeah, but she can get reeeaaal nasty.I tried to force a look of bravery on my face, replying "Y-Yes ma'am, but I'm not too scared!" I put on a brave smile, puffing my chest out for effect. The goat-mama chuckled at that, ruffling my hair lightly. "Oh, you brave thing! I hope no monsters have given you trouble?" I shook my head.
*Hang on, didn't Cter get to Toriel when she was dying? How is she here earlier?
I was thinking the same thing. Did G bring me in earlier as a joke? To see how I'd react?
*It might've been an accident.
That was another possibility. Anyway. "No ma'am, I...didn't see any." I looked a little confused.
*Should'a taken Drama. You would've gotten more grades.
Shut the fuck up, I replied. "Have you seen another human? M-my friend fell before me, I was looking for them!" Toriel's eyes lit up at that, nodding quickly to confirm. "Yes! Oh, you know Frisk, that's so good!" I smiled, flashing my (newly) pristine teeth at her.
*Bri'ish m8
I'm not even gonna dignify that with a response. "Could you...not tell them I'm here? If you give me directions to your house, I wanna get some flowers or something and surprise them!" Toriel nodded again, a look of understanding on her face. She fished around in her pocket and handed me a small map, a few blue lines drawn across it. "Of course, darling. Here, this should help."
*What are you doing? If you get there too late, she'll-
I know. It hurts, but I need that to happen so Sans can get the required amount of dust.
I heard a small grumble of dissent in the back of my mind. I thought back to one of the other 'fics, DoubleUnion. Carter didn't get all of the Monsters' dust, so he wasn't as strong as he could be. I mean, that and he had a Perseverance SOUL, but that isn't the point.
Examining the map, I smiled again and pocketed it, a small ding! notifying me it arrived in my Inventory. "Thank you, miss..." I paused, watching her eyes widen as she gasped. "Of course, how rude of me! My name is Toriel, child. I'm the caretaker of these Ruins." She fished in her pocket again, humming before pulling out a little phone. Nothing special, it looked like a little Blackberry. Handing it to me, she straightened her blouse and sighed. "I must get back. My number is already in the phone so if you need anything, do not hesitate to call, alright?" The worried look was back again, her brows furrowed.
*At least we'll be able to see her after the RESET...
Mhm. "Will do, Miss Toriel!" I did a mock-salute, a goofy grin on my face. She laughed and ruffled my hair again. "Okay child. Be safe!" She turned round and started walking off, soon disappearing around a corner.
*Phew. Okay, battle plan. Or...plan in general.
"Let the usual shit happen, give Frisky-bits a half-hearted fight in the basement and either die or stay injured, meet Sans-" I inhaled. "Yada yada, befriend MK, and then..." Pausing, a frown made it's way onto my face.
*And then...?
I shook my head. "I don't know. I have no clue what powers I'm gonna get, if any-The machine might not work, and we might all be doomed. Even if it does work, I might not be good enough."
*shut the fuck up.
Nodding, I continued forward. "Aight." TB-what I had come to call him-remained silent through the journey, only breaking it to comment on Napstablook's disappearance.
*The lack of Ghost Boi fills you with unease. Probably.
"Hmm." I hummed, passing through the empty leaf patch. "No signs of a battle...Blooky's tears are acidic, so they'd leave burn marks on the floor...plus, Chara's knife would pass straight through and mark said floor."
*Okay, which is it: Frisk or Chara?
I frowned. "What do you mean?" I was pretty clear, wasn't I?
*Earlier, you referred to them as 'char-bear', then you referred to them as 'frisky-bits', and now you're going back to Chara. Which is it?
He had a point, annoyingly. I did keep switching. "I don't know, T. That's why I jeep doing it. It might be evil Frisk, good Chara, it might be the other way around. Until we find them, I don't know." I continued on, not really paying attention to wear I was heading until I reached the tree outside Toriel's house.
*You can smell a faint hint of smoke and iron. Probably.
"Smoke and...shit, they're fighting already-" Dashing inside, I quickly raided the fridge for any healing items and stored them in my Inventory before jumping over the banister down to the basement, breaking a few stairs upon landing. "Shitshitshitshit-" I stopped before I rounded the corner, quickly slipping into the shadows. "Change of plan."
*What fuckin' plan?
"Good point," I mumbled. Peering at the scene in front of me, I let gave a shaky gasp upon seeing Toriel's dilapidated form hit the ground, her body covered in bloody gashes. Fuckin' game didn't show that, I thought. Her eyes widened, the greyish pupils focusing on me as she started fading away into ash.
*Welp. Fuck.
"M-mhm..." I hummed in agreement before realising my mistake. Chara-Frisk?-was staring intently at the Boss Monster SOUL in front of them; whether trying to figure out if they could absorb it or just taking pleasure in seeing Toriel's whole being shatter, I don't know. Either way, it angered me.
*Not like you're already quick to anger, noooo. Couldn't be y-
"Shut it." I hissed, dismissing the text box with a wave of my hand as I stepped out of the shadows. "Hey, asshole. Parricide's a serious crime, ya know." I flicked up my hood, watching their small frame turn around and pull the knife back out of their Inventory. They glared straight at me, pointing the toy 'piece of shit' at me like it was a sword.
*If they think that's a sword, oh-ho...
"Who. The fuck. Are you." They spat, tilting their head like a curious dog. An extremely genocidal, sadistic dog. Smiling, I chuckled. "Oooh, you're pointing a plastic knife at me! I'm so scared!" I did a mock-faint, before bursting out laughing. "Seriously kid, they only reason you can kill shit down here with that is that they're made of magic, not matter. They ain't properly physical. Dipshit." I poked my tongue out at them-further increasing their rage, from the looks of it.
"You're not supposed to be h-"
"Yeah, I know." I cut them off, making them even more annoyed. "Spare the monologue. If you wanna fight, let's fight." They smirked, not quite their full creepy-ass smile, but more of a casual version. Shaking their head, they replied, "You wouldn't even last 2 seconds in a fight against me." Flipping their 'faux-knife' they the pointed the blade at me again. "But if you wish to die so readily, then let's go."
[Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley started playing.]
*no it sure as fucking hell did not
Getting into a stance, they suddenly dashed towards me faster than I would've thought possible; they seemed to teleport in front of my face, slashing right at my throat. Having anticipated this, I ducked, sliding under them and grabbing their ankles. "Surprise, mother fucker." I quipped, before proceeding to shit-whip them down the corridor and into the stone doors. Running after them, I jumped into a drop kick that surely should've broken their ribs...
If they were there.
They moved a second before I reached them, heaving a chunk of the door at me as I collapsed onto the tiles; thinking fast, I pushed off of the remains of the stone and slid on my back before pushing myself into a weird handspring, sailing over their shoulder.
*What the fuck are you doing.
"I'm fighting, dumbass-" I replied, throwing up an arm to block their strike, before realising that this was an extremely bad idea midway through and instead catching their wrist. They smirked, not making a move. "You have yet to hit me, and yet you..." I frowned, checking my HP.
HP: 23/28
"Huh. Okay then." I shrugged before throwing them behind me. "You want me to hit you?"
*Keep it somewhat child-friendly, man-
I opened my Inventory, smirking as I pulled out Rebellion.
Rebellion:
Dante's signature sword, and for a good reason. Has the power to unite man and demon.
Chara's smile dropped at that, their eyes widening in fear as they stared at my sword. "What the f-" They started, before letting out a forced breath as I dashed up and smashed the hilt into their ribs. "Hi!" They flew the remaining few feet back down the corridor as I then threw Rebellion at them, sprinting along behind. They hit the wall, making a human-shaped dent before the sword impaled their chest.
So, in order so far:
Wall: -5HP
Huge-ass sword: -20HP.
Their blood splattered around, dripping down onto the floor as they gurgled. They couldn't even lift their hands to heal. Suddenly, their head lifted as they heard my rapidly approaching footsteps.
*Oh shit.
"Hey."
-10HP
I slammed straight into the hilt, sending the entire rest of the sword through their chest and leaving only the two prongs of the hilt remaining.
*C-c-c-c-combo breaker!!!!
The wall behind them cracked with the force of the blow, along with a few bones in my hand. Oh well. I smiled at them, resetting my fingers into their normal positions with a few snaps. "So. What was that about me not lasting two seconds?" Twisting the hilt, I pushed a bit further as I looked at their health bar.
HP: 1/36
They chuckled, a few bubbles of blood popping as they soaked their shirt-and mine-with it. "You...are just like me...no hesitation to-hngh!-kill..." They cried out in pain as I pushed the hilt deeper, the prongs cutting through the only normal piece of their chest.
*...He outta line, but he's right. Or...however the meme goes.
Shaking my head, I sighed. "I'm nothing like you, Chara." They didn't even look shocked that I knew their name. "I kill to protect the ones I love." I chuckled. "You kill for sport."
HP: 0.01/36
"Although I must say..."
I twisted the hilt until the blade was horizontal, the top in line with their face.
"I enjoyed this one."
Wrapping my hands around the metal, I gave a massive pull upwards; the iron tore through their abdomen, ravaging their throat and finally, slicing clean through their skull.
*I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but-
I watched as their SOUL floated up, a sudden urge to smash it appearing before it shattered.
"..." I sighed, letting the Rebellion fall back into my inventory and staring through the now-open doors to Snowdin. "Thought there was a corridor here..."
*That was badass, are we just gonna ign-
"Yes."
I looked down at their corpse.
"Yes we are."
A/N - Annnnd that's chapter 2! Longer than the first, and probably just as action-packed, because I can't write fight scenes for shit.
Drake is a mysterious character, with a dark past...
No he's fucking not, I'm kidding. He's me with extra steps.
Anyways, I hope this was good enough. Same as last time, leave a review if you liked it and at least give some constructive criticism if you didn't.
I'm also looking for a beta reader, if anyone's interested? I constantly think whatever I write is absolute crap, so to have a second opinion would be nice.
Okay bye lmao
