Ash and Amelia were on their way to deal with an issue. Arriving at the Steel type resort they were going to help out retrieving the Pokémon that escaped their pens on Amelia's mother request. A large building out front with a giant nut on the entrance gate way Ash could see a mountain over the back of it. Going inside they were greeted by one of the workers. A female receptionist with black hair and green eyes welcomed the heir.
"Miss Amelia!"
"I heard the situation from mother. Me and my friend are here to help with the effort." The Pokémon here agitated she and Ash would help round them up. Alfonzo in the back would arrange their sleeping quarters and unpack their luggage while they were outside with the staff.
"Of course miss, this way please." The woman left her desk and she moved to the back where the back exit is. Lots of rocks and hills made it a small heaven for Steel types with usually a lot of metal for them to eat. The large pile of metals that the miners dug up was hidden from the Pokémon so what caused them to get aggravated will not go into their system anymore.
"Espeon, Dragonair, Rapidash, out!" Amelia threw her Pokeballs and out came the three. Recognizing their surroundings they knew what to do. Amelia jumped up on her Rapidash as Espeon leaped up as well sitting on the rear of the unicorn and Dragonair flew beside her.
Ash having a somewhat riding Pokémon of his own but it's not as fast as Amelia's Rapidash.
" Dracovish out!" Ash threw his Pokeball and out in a white flash behind him came out the creature. The Fossil Pokémon began nibbling on his head out of affection. Ash struggling to get it off him Amelia's Pokémon looked quite strange at them. The trainer herself though softly giggled though as from watching his battles know how strong his Pokémon are yet they have quite a gentle side to them.
Ash finally managed to get the fish head of him and stood on its back. Holding onto its large head they rode towards the first group of Pokémon that broke out. A bunch of Lairon were all smashing their hard heads together violently. The smashing of skulls ran through their ears.
"I got most of these." Amelia rode forwards as Espeon jumped off Rapidash as well onto Dragonair.
"Espeon, Dragonair, Attract!" Both Pokémon flew togethet and unleashed a wave of hearts. It touched every Pokémon nearby as the males fighting all got pink hearts in their eyes. Amelia on her Rapidash raised her arm up high with a smile.
"Come here everyone!"
With a combination of winking and pushing on the male Pokémon were guided towards their pens. Expertly handling them on the back of Rapidash Espeon acted as a herding Pokémon as they were still attracted to it. Ash looking on from Dracovish found it no wonder she passed the Rhyhorn round with Serena during her hometown Showcase.
He saw a group of Magnemite and Magneton floating unleashing waves of electricity. The yellow flashing lights
"I got that one!" Urging Dracovish to go that way the Fossil Pokémon ran to them. Ash nodded to Pikachu.
"Ok Pikachu, Electroweb!" Pikachu leaping off Ash's shoulders fired a spider web time capturing some of the Magnet Pokémon. It getting their attention they moved to the source of the electricity as it was powerful and to them quite tasty.
"This way Magnemite, Magneton!"
The floating magnets followed the current Pikachu gave off. The mouse fired off a Thunderbolt in the cage they were kept in as the major current released was followed.
This went on for a few hours. Together with the workers they rounded up as many Pokémon as they could. Everyone taking a break and recovering from taming all the Pokémon. The workers are currently counting to see if we got all of them. Ash and Amelia were just sitting together enjoying the sunset which would soon disappear behind the mountain as a shadow was already casted over the resort.
"I hope your parents can find out what's wrong soon." Ash telling her that he didn't want this to be a repeating activity something Amelia agreed on.
"They will."
"Still you looked good when you hoarded those Lairon. I can see why you had no trouble with those Rhyhorn."
Amelia realizing he talked about the first Showcase she did in front of him it still felt weird that a random audience member would turn out to be so important to her.
"I can say something from the way you handled those Magnemite and Magneton." Shooting the same praise in return Ash told her it was no trouble.
"I've met so many Pokémon that liked Pikachu's electricity it's become a habit." The mouse on his lap perked up letting out a cute chu. From soft fluffy Pokémon like Mareep to hard metal like Magneton and others like it with electric cheek pouches it had a gift with other fellow Electric types.
The personal aid went to the duo.
"Excuse Miss Amelia? Ash?"
"Yes Alfonzo?" The girl spoke to him at their moment being cut short again.
"The workers finished the count of all the Pokémon gathered. There unfortunately is one missing." The people finished with the count not every Pokémon was accounted for.
"Which one?" Ash asked him on what they missed out on.
"A Scizor."
"Any idea where it might be?" Amelia asked. The aid pointed into the direction of the mountain.
"So all the workers got to do is get that one back right?" Ash thinking they can handle one Pokémon by themselves.
"This one is particularly ferocious according to staff. The metals its been feeding on have only amplified that trait. They did not say it but the whispers tell me they're afraid of it."
"Then let us get it." Ash true to his character volunteered in retrieving the dangerous Pokémon. Standing up from his spot he called on Dracovish which stormed to him making the ground tremble with his power.
"I advise you not to do that. It's getting late and the mountain can be dangerous at night." Alfonzo did not agree with him but Ash told him it was all going to be alright.
"It will be fine. If it gets late and we can't find it we'll just camp on the mountain." Pikachu said his name in agreement.
"I'm coming with you." Amelia got up as well joining him but her aid protested.
"Miss Amelia. As your keeper I must say that it is ill advised. Your guest should be more than capable of defeating it and bringing it back safe. There's no need for you to be at risk." He aid out the situation but she was not listening.
"I brought Ash here while he could be doing so many things instead. Least I can do is aid him."
"If I know, your father does not want you to go after it. Please miss, I beg you to stay here."
She whistled and Rapidash ran up to her. Jumping up and mounting it she wasn't going to let Ash go out alone. She might not be of much help but she knew the area a bit better then him. As the two rode their Pokémon to the mountain it left the aid quite in shock at her rebellion. Amelia had hints of displeasure at some of her fathers orders but this was the first time she openly rebelled against his wishes. Out of hearing range now Alfonzo could do nothing but watch the heir go further and further away and the smaller she got the more he worried for her safety and his own.
"Mr Valuer is going to kill me."
The sun setting even further it started to turned dark. As the two traversed the mountain in different ways, Dracovish crushing every rock that was in its path and Rapidash with a grace the two riders talked about the Performers actions.
"You didn't have to come though."
"Not you as well." Amelia not in the mood for this at all.
"Here I thought you'd enjoy my company." Amelia said in a subtle tone. Ash happy she choose to join him appreciated the company but worried for her safety.
"Alright. I'm sorry. Forget I said anything."
As it got darker night fell. No use in searching further Ash called it off for today. Finding a cave in the side of the mountain Ash went in to see if it houses any wildlife. The cave empty making it perfect he got off Dracovish and turned to her.
"We should camp here."
"Camp…uhmmmmmmm…" She turned sideways from him whistling as if nothing was wrong. Amelia thinking to herself she did not think this through at all in joining him the way she did. For all her private lessons and talents she put herself into a situation she never envisioned being in thanks to her stature.
"What?"
"I never camped before."
Amelia said in a whisper quite embarrassed still not looking at Ash. There never was a need to sleep outside cause she always used transportation to make it to the next towns hotel. Sleeping outside was unheard of for her but she was afraid Ash might judge her for the privilege she always enjoyed of a nice comfy bed.
"First time for everything I guess."
Ash did most of the heavy lifting in setting up camp. Under his guidance she helped him as best she could. He carried an extra sleeping bag just in case cause secretly he predicted Amelia to be just like his other companions in that they never camped before they met him or went on a journey.
They cleared the ground making sure no rocks were sticking out and poked them in the back. As Amelia laid down the bag was isolated well enough creating just enough cushioning so she did not feel the rock she slept on. Now cocooned up in the sleeping bag Ash borrowed to her she was happy he had such foresight. It would've made her feel miserable due to her lack of preparations if he was a gentlemen and offered up his sleeping bag so she at least stayed warm.
"That wasn't so bad was it?" Ash got tucked into his sleeping bag with Pikachu.
"I expected worse really." Amelia's expectations in how difficult it would be were over exaggerated. It was not a luxury hotel like she was used too but acceptable for her situation.
"Let's go to sleep so we can look for that Scizor quite early. Night Amelia."
"Night Ash."
To her credit she fell asleep quite fast. The long day of chasing, herding and capturing all aided into the possibility of the Performer getting her regular beauty sleep.
Alfonzo looking at the clock his keep and guest did not return. It was over 11 pm and there was no sign of the two. Holding his phone in hand he held it off as long as he could. Trembling in his seat he slowly dialed the number knowing his fate.
The phone went over a couple of times before he heard the voice of his real boss.
"Ah Alfonzo. I assume Amelia and the others have caught all the Pokémon the resort owns?" Even if he was ready to go to bed Charles picked up the phone wondering how the situation on their end was. The metals were still being transported to his wife's requested location for analysis.
"Apart from one yes. Amelia's guest is currently out in the resort to hunt it down."
"Then I hope for his sake he's as good a survivalist as a trainer."
When before he had praise for Ash's skills now there was caution. Their opinion about Amelia's talents different there was a hint of a rivalry going on. Alfonzo had to cut to the chase.
"There has been another issue."
"What?"
"Miss Amelia joined him in his search and they haven't returned yet. They're out on the mountain somewhere."
The other side of the line grew quiet. This lasted for a minute as the aid thought the connection was broken on accident or that his boss dropped the phone in shock.
"Sir?"
"WHAT PART OF YOU KEEPING WATCH OVER MY DAUGHTER DON'T YOU GET!?"
His outburst was so loud there was no need for the loudspeaker function. Alfonzo fearing for not just his job now but many of the workers here as well. The Valuer family had quite a bit of sway of businesses that weren't fully their own as their connections took care of it.
"GET EVERYONE IN THAT RESORT OUT OF BED AND TELL THEM TO FIND MY DAUGHTER RIGHT NOW! AND ONCE SHE'S FOUND SEND HER AND THAT BOY MY WAY! THIS IS NOT OVER!"
Slamming down the phone the father was absolutely furious. His precious little girl did not deserve to sleep like some caveman. They were supposed to better then that. Steaming into bed his wife tried to calm him down but even she was unsuccessful. Charles taking a stiff drink from his cabinet downed the bottle in one shot before slamming it on his night desk.
One more before it stops just a little.
Also I might have something else in the works but we'll see how far I get with that one.
Later.
