Oliver sat on the boat that came to rescue him thinking about the five years of hell that he just went through. He was stranded on this island for five years but now he was found and was going home. The island changed him. He wasn't the same man he was when he got on that boat with his father. He became tougher colder and harder. He was also a man with a mission. To save his city and right his father's wrongs. The island gave him the skills to do it and he was going to use those skills to make sure that his city was safer. Through those five years on the island there was one thing about him that didn't change. Oliver took out a picture from his pocket. Smiling up at him was the love of his life. The woman who changed his life all those years ago when they were in high school together. It'd been five years since they'd last seen each other. He wasn't naïve. He expected that she moved on but he just needed to see her again and maybe they could be friends. "Felicity" he said smiling at the picture.
Oliver and Tommy walked talking through the halls of the school that they owned as they were the most popular guys in school. They were the sexy rich playboys that all of the girls wanted to be with and all of the guys wanted to be. "Hello Oliver" one of the cheerleaders said. "Hey Stacy" Oliver said. "Are you coming to my party tonight? It's going to be one of my biggest ones yet" she said. Oliver gave her his cocky playboy smile. "Well it's not a party unless me and Tommy are there isn't that right Tommy" Oliver asked turning to his friend. "You bet. We're legendary at party's" Tommy said as he high fived Oliver. Stacy moved in close to Oliver. "I'll see you there and we can have fun in my bedroom again just like last weekend" she said kissing Oliver he kissed her back. She walked away from the two friends and Tommy turned to Oliver. "She doesn't know you were with Tracey last night does she" he asked. Oliver shook his head. Tommy and Oliver continued to walk down the hall to their class.
Felicity walked through the hall with her sisters Laurel and Sara. "All I'm saying is that you should come to that party tonight" Sara said to Felicity. She shook her head. "I'm not really the party type of girl. Besides I've got to study" Felicity said. Laurel laughed. "Come on Felicity we all know your going to ace whatever test it is your taking. You're the smartest person I know. Sara's right. It would be good for you to get out of the house for a little while" she said. "I don't know" Felicity said. "Please I need someone there that I can hang out with when ditch's Laurel goes to hang out with Tommy or Oliver or any of the other morons she likes to hang out with" Sara said. Felicity took a deep breath. "Fine but there's only one problem. There's no way dad's going to let us go out on a school night to a party with people like Tommy and Oliver there" Felicity said. Sara smiled. "That's why we're not going to tell him or Donna. We're going to tell them we're going to a study group" she said.
That night Laurel Sara and Felicity came down the stairs with backpacks. "We'll be back later" Laurel said as the three girls tried to leave the house. "Where do you think you are going young ladies? It's a school night" Quentin asked. "Study group" Sara said. Quentin looked at his three daughters suspiciously. "Study group really? You and Laurel are going to a study group" he asked. Sara nodded her head. "Felicity's friend Emily is having a get together at her house so we can all study together" she said. Donna walked into the room. "What's going on" she asked. "Well apparently the three girls are going to a study group with one of Felicity's friends" he said. "Sounds fun" Donna said. Quentin wasn't sure. He turned to Felicity who he knew wouldn't lie to them. "Felicity is that true" Quentin asked. Felicity nodded. "Yea my friend Emily is getting a bunch of us girls together to study. It's going to be small like six or seven people not anything like a party with a lot of people" Felicity babbled until Sara nudged her to be quiet. "OK have fun girls. Be back in this house by 10" Quentin said. They nodded and left the house.
Laurel Sara and Felicity arrived at Tommy's house so they could get ready for the party. "Thanks for letting us get ready here. Our dad would kill us if he knew where we were going" Laurel said as she applied so makeup. "It's no problem. The Lance sisters are always welcome here even you Felicity" he said. "Thanks I think" Felicity said. "So what did you guys tell your father" he asked. "We told him we had were going to a study group" Sara said who was helping Felicity with her makeup. "He actually believed you" he said. "We have Felicity with us" Laurel said. "Though she almost got us a caught by babbling too much" Sara said. "I know. I'm sorry. When I get nervous I babble" Felicity said. "Who would have thought Felicity Lance would lie to her parents to go to a party" he said. "So how do we look" Sara asked when she was done with Felicity. Laurel was in a black dress, Sara a white one and Felicity a gold one with her hair down. "You all look hot" Tommy said. They all laughed.
They had been at the party for over an hour and Felicity was hating it. She didn't know most of the people there and she felt really awkward. She mostly spent her time sitting in the corner by herself. Laurel and Sara had offered to stay with her but she told them they should have fun so they went to hang out with their friends. Felicity was sitting in the corner playing a game on her phone when someone called her name. "Felicity Lance is that you" someone asked. Felicity looked up and saw Oliver Queen standing there with two girls in each of his arms kissing him. Felicity rolled her eyes. "Hello Oliver" Felicity said. Oliver stared at her in shock. She looked drop dead gorgeous. How didn't he ever notice before? He looked at the two girls in his arms. "Ladies why don't you go enjoy the party? I'm going to talk to my friend Felicity" he said. He let go of them and walked over to Felicity. They glared at her and walked away.
"So what are you doing here? I would think you would be home studying or something" Oliver asked. "Laurel and Sara wanted to come and they dragged me along with them" Felicity said. Oliver nodded. "So are you having fun" he asked. Felicity shook her head. "Honestly I wish I was back home studying. School is easier than all this for me" Felicity said. Oliver shook his head. "Not for me. I'm failing almost all of my classes" Oliver said. Felicity put down her phone and looked at Oliver shocked. "Oliver that's terrible" she said. Oliver shook his head. "Not really. My dad donates a lot of money to the school. They won't fail me at the end of the year" Oliver said. Felicity shook her head. "You know you could just study and actually work to get your grades up without your father having to pay off the school" Felicity said. "School isn't my thing. I'm not the exactly smart guy" Oliver said. "If you put half as much time into school as you do partying you'd be good at it. Your smarter than you think Oliver" Felicity said.
"You really believe that" Oliver asked shocked. No one had ever said that to him. Felicity smiled at him and nodded her head. "I always have ever since we first met and two year ago and you tried to hit on Laurel. Your not really the dumb spoiled rich kid you pretend to be. Your better than that" she said. No one ever believed in him like that. To everyone else he was just the dumb spoiled rich kid who wasn't going to amount to anything but Felicity saw something else in him. They stared at each other both feeling an intense pull to be near each other. "Oliver" someone called out. Oliver snapped out of it and looked behind him to see his girlfriend Stacey approaching him. She walked up and kissed him. Felicity looked away uncomfortable. They stopped kissing and Stacy looked at Oliver. "Are you going to introduce me to your friend" she asked. "Stacy this is Felicity Lance and Felicity this is Stacy" Oliver started to say but Stacy interrupted him. "I'm his girlfriend" Stacy aid in a warning tone.
"It's nice to meet you" Felicity said holding out her hand for Stacy to shake. Stacy just glared at her. She put on a fake smile. "It's nice to meet you too" she said taking Felicity's hand. While she was shaking her hand Stacy poured her drink on Felicity. "Oops my fault" she said then laughed. She wrapped an arm around Oliver who glared at Stacy. Felicity looked at them with tears in her eyes. "I have to go" she said running away. "Felicity wait" Oliver called after. Stacy grabbed his arm. "Don't worry about her. She's a loser and not worth your time" Stacy said. Oliver pulled his arm away from her. "Well at least she's not a bitch like you" Oliver said and started walking away. She stepped in front of him. "If you go after her we are done" she said. Oliver thought for a moment. "Then I guess were done" he said walking away. She watched him walk away shocked how could he choose that loser over her. Oliver breathed a sigh of relief. He was going to break up with her anyway.
Oliver walked around the party looking for Felicity. He wanted to apologize. She didn't deserve that. He was about to give up when he heard crying coming from another room. He walked in the room and saw Felicity wiping the stain on her dress with paper towels crying. "Felicity I'm" Oliver started to say walking over to her but she held out a hand stopping him. "I got the message Oliver. Your girlfriend doesn't like me. I'll leave you alone. Laurel's going to kill me. This was her dress" Felicity said. Oliver held out his hand. "Here let me help" Oliver said leading Felicity to a chair. He wet a new paper towel, leaned down and started wiping at the stain. "I'm sorry about that. She could be a real bitch sometimes" Oliver said. Felicity shook her head and grabbed Oliver's hand. "You don't have to do this Oliver. I'm fine. Go back out there and enjoy the party with your girlfriend" Felicity said saying the girlfriend part with disdain. "We broke up and I'd much rather be here with you" Oliver said.
"I don't need your pity Oliver. We've known each other for two years and you've never noticed me before but know that I'm in a sexy dress and have makeup on you notice" Felicity said. Oliver shook his head. "It's not pity" he said. He didn't know what it was but there was just something about Felicity. "Your wrong by the way. I've always noticed you with the way you like to chew on pens when your intensely thinking about something, the way you like to wear your hair in a cute ponytail and the way you babble when your nervous. You've done it around me a lot" Oliver said. "It's so embarrassing" Felicity said. Oliver shook his head. "It's adorable" he said. Felicity looked at him shocked. "The truth is Felicity you don't need makeup or a sexy dress to get people to notice you. You're remarkable without all of that. They all have to try hard but you don't. You're the smartest person I know. I wish I was even a quarter as smart as you are" Oliver said.
"Oliver I'm not a cheerleader or what people would call attractive. You should leave. If people saw you with me it would hurt your reputation" Felicity said. "Your beautiful Felicity and any guy would be lucky to have you. I've always felt like this" Oliver said. Felicity looked at Oliver. She didn't know what it was but something told her he was being sincere. "Why didn't you ever say anything to me" Felicity asked. Oliver took a deep breath. "Honestly you never really seemed interested in me which is understandable and your going to make something of your life and you don't need some loser who can't even pass any of his classes holding you back" Oliver said. Oliver brushed a piece of hair out of her face. "I've always had a crush on you but your special. You deserve someone better than me" he said. They stared at each other intently both feeling the chemistry they have between each other. "Oliver I…" Felicity started to say when the door to the room burst open.
"There she is" Laurel said. Laurel Sara and Tommy were standing on the other side of the door looking at Oliver and Felicity. They noticed the stain on her dress. "What did you do to her" Sara asked walking over to Felicity. Oliver stood up. "Nothing I was just helping her" he said. Laurel walked over to Felicity too. "Sorry about the dress" she said. Laurel shook her head. "It's OK. It's only a stupid dress. Me and Sara shouldn't have left you alone. We're sorry" she said. Sara nodded. "Yea were sorry" she said. Felicity looked at Oliver. "It's OK it wasn't all bad" she said. Tommy walked over to Oliver. Oliver could tell immediately that Tommy was drunk. He was swaying when he walked and his breath smelt horrible. "Oliver bro did you finally tell her" Tommy asked. Laurel Felicity and Sara all looked at Oliver and Tommy. Oliver laughed embarrassed. "Your drunk man. Let's get you home" Oliver said. "Tell who what" Felicity asked. "Well Oliver here has had a crush on you…" Tommy started but Oliver covered his mouth.
After all of the excitement the 5 of them left the party. Oliver took Tommy home then Oliver went home himself. He just kept thinking about Felicity. He laid in his bed that night thinking about what she said about how he could be good at school if he just tried and how she thought he was smart. He smiled as he fell asleep. Nobody ever believed in him but Felicity did. He was going to prove her right. The next morning Oliver woke up on time at 7:00 got dressed and went downstairs. "Bye mom and dad I'm off to school" Oliver said. Moira and Robert caught him before he walked out the door. "Oliver it's 7:00" Moira said. Oliver shook his head. "Yea I know. I'm heading off to school" he said. Moira and Robert looked at each other. "Well son normally you don't even get up until 7:30 when school starts at 7:48" Robert said. Oliver shrugged his shoulders. "I'm trying something different" he said. His parents looked at each other confused. "I got to go. Love you guys" Oliver said.
Oliver sat outside the school in his car. He had stopped for breakfast before coming to the school and was eating it when he saw who he was looking for. Felicity was walking to the school with Laurel and Sara. Oliver checked his hair in the mirror and checked to make sure his breath didn't smell. He was good. He got out of his car and ran up to the Lance sisters. "Hi guys" Oliver said. Laurel and Sara looked at each other and laughed. "We're going to go. We have class" Laurel said. Sara laughed. "Yea we'll let you two lovebirds talk about stuff" she said. Laurel pulled her away and into the school. Oliver looked away embarrassed. "Oliver about that…" Felicity started to say but Oliver interrupted her. "Let's not talk about that" he said. Felicity looked a little disappointed. "I have a question" Oliver said. Felicity shook off her disappointment. "OK" she said. "Would you tutor me after school" Oliver asked. Felicity looked at him shocked.
"You want me to tutor you" Felicity said. Oliver shook his head. "Yea if you can . I mean of course you can. You're the smartest person in this school even smarter than some of the teachers. I just meant if you're not busy than I would like it if you would tutor me" Oliver said nervously. Felicity had never seen Oliver nervous before and especially not because of her. "Sure we can meet in the library after school" Felicity said. Oliver smiled a big smile. "It's a date then" Oliver said realizing what he said. "Not a date, date. Just a date between friends. Not that I wouldn't want to date you I mean you are beautiful and everything and I'm just going to shut up" Oliver said. Felicity smiled. She would notice nervous babbling anywhere. "I'll see you after school" Felicity said. Oliver just nodded his head so he didn't say anything embarrassing again. He walked into school excited for it to end. He text his parents to let them know he would be home late.
Oliver was at his locker when Tommy walked up to him. "Wanna hang out after school today" Tommy asked Oliver. "I can't. I already got plans" Oliver said. Tommy looked at him shocked. "You got a hot date or something that I don't know about" he asked. "I'm staying after school. Felicity's going to tutor me" Oliver said. "Why? You know your dad will just pay off the school so they pass you" Tommy said. Oliver rolled his eyes. "I don't want my dad to have to pay for everything for me to get me through life" he said annoyed. Tommy held up his hands. "OK whatever you say man. Hey so you finally got the balls to tell Felicity how you feel" he said. Oliver nodded his head. "I'm not the only one" he said. Tommy looked at him confused. "Well the only two people who know about your crush are you and me" he said realization hitting him. "Did I tell her while I was drunk" Tommy asked. Oliver nodded his head. "Sorry" Tommy said. "That's OK. I had already told her" Oliver said.
Oliver met Felicity after school in the library like he said he would. Felicity helped him with his homework and she was able to explain everything in a way that he understood. Oliver would just sit there thinking about how much he wanted to kiss her but then he would snap out of it. He cared about Felicity too much to let her settle for someone like him. She was special and she deserved someone equally as special and that just wasn't him. They continued to meet after school and Oliver's grades improved. He started to get his grades up to B's and C's. Felicity said they might be able to get them up to A's soon enough but she was frustrated. Oliver had refused to talk about his confession with her and that had been weighing on her mind this whole time. On the last day of school she decided to muster up the courage and talk to him about it. She walked up to Oliver who was at his locker with Tommy. "Oliver we need to talk" Felicity said. "I'll see you later" Tommy said leaving.
"Hi Felicity what's…" Oliver asked but was interrupted when Felicity pulled him into a empty classroom. Oliver looked at her shocked. "What are you doing" Oliver asked. He got his answer when Felicity kissed him. It felt right like this was how it was always meant to be. Their lips fit so perfectly together. The kiss was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Better than Oliver imagined it and he definitely imagined what kissing Felicity would be like. His pants were getting tighter. Oliver was getting lost in the kiss when he snapped out of it and pulled back from her. He shook his head. "We can't do this. I'm sorry. I have to go" Oliver said rushing for the door. Felicity ran in front of the door. "No your not leaving. Not this time. We have to talk about this" she said. Oliver took a deep breath and sat down at a desk. "Felicity we can't be together" Oliver said. "Why not? You said you had a crush on me since you met me and guess what I've had a crush on you for that long too" Felicity said.
Oliver looked up at and shook his head. "No you can't like me like that" he said. Now Felicity was hurt. "Are you embarrassed by me" she asked. Oliver walked up to her and grabbed her hand. "I could never be embarrassed by you. Trust me you are the least embarrassing thing in my life" he said. "Then what is it" Felicity asked. "Felicity please" Oliver started but she shook her head. "I have to know before school ends today and summer starts. Please Oliver" she said. Oliver sighed. "Fine" he said and reached his hand up to stroke her face. "I do like you Felicity a lot. I think about you all the time but I don't deserve you" Oliver said stopping stroking her face. "What are you talking about" Felicity asked. "A relationship with me is a dead end. I can't offer you anything. You deserve someone who is as special as you and that's not me. I care about you too much to have you settle for me when there's someone out there as special as you. As much as it hurts to not be with you it's the right thing" Oliver said.
He went to walk out but Felicity grabbed his arm stopping him. She shook her head. "Oliver I wish you believed in yourself as much as I do. Your more special than you think and I'm not going to let you just decide for me what I deserve" Felicity said. "Felicity" Oliver said. She shook her head. "No I deserve someone who cares about me enough to put what he wants on the backburner just so that I'm happy. I deserve someone who will be there for me when his ex-girlfriend spills wine on my dress. I deserve this handsome cute man who will spend his days with me studying trying to better his life after school instead of going to a party to get wasted I deserve you and I'm choosing you" she said kissing Oliver. He didn't back away this time. When she stopped kissing him she looked at him and smiled. "Are you sure" he asked. "Absolutely" Felicity said. Oliver kissed with so much passion. He had been wanting to do that for months. He didn't know if they were making the right decision but he was willing to try with her. He pulled away picked up his backpack and held out his hand. "Come on let's end this school year together girlfriend" Oliver said. They walked out into the hallway together excited to start their new relationship together.
