Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another part of the chapter. I've got nothing to say for now.
Therefore, you can just jump straight into the part. So enjoy the chapter!
Lecture Hall #3
Genos, Saitama, and Nadia were present in the Lecture Hall with a Class A Hero, Sneck, as the seminar's representative.
Genos has his arms crossed the entire time as he didn't care, Saitama was chewing on a piece of gum he had brought along, and Nadia just read a book.
"First, Congratulations on passing," Sneck said, "Now one of you only made it on a fluke, so unless you want your luck to go to waste, I better see you giving it your all,"
The three still remained absent-minded as the Class A Hero continued, "And don't get all puffed up! From here on, keep your hero status in mind and act modestly! After all, your faces will be placed on the Hero Association website,"
Apparently, The three still ignored him while Saitama blew a bubble with his gum. Sneck tried his best to not lose his cool as he had to act professionally. But poorly attempted since the expression was enough to give it away.
"Did you hear me? That goofball head of yours is gonna be shown to the whole world," Sneck stated, "If you don't want to humiliate yourselves..."
Sneck suddenly jumps onto the desk and began showing off his moves to them. After he finishes with his usual stance, he goes back to his lecture, "Aspire to be a fine hero like me!"
The three still remained unfazed until Saitama blew the biggest bubble and it suddenly popped all over his face before struggling to get it off.
Genos, being the overly devoted student, tends to him while Nadia was startled a bit before turning back to her book.
"As a Class A hero, I have some influence over the Association," Sneck stated, "I'll make sure those who behave irresponsibly..."
Sneck then donned a serious expression to intimidate the three, "Lose points and get demoted. Don't forget it!"
The three still paid no attention to it as they had other plans to do. After the seminar was finally over, the three were walking out of the building.
To pass the time, Genos mentioned the Heroes Association's history. Apparently, it all started when the grandson of a millionaire was saved by a random passerby from a monster attack three years ago.
Due to that, The millionaire, Agoni, had come up with the system and used his fortune to establish the Heroes Association. Genos kept conversing about them being official heroes before going to the most important detail in all of this.
"Sensei... I guess I'm now officially your disciple," Genos stated proudly,
Saitama was a bit stunned by this while Nadia glanced at the two with a raised eyebrow as she didn't know that the two would have an official Master-Student relationship.
"Please continue to guide me as my mentor," Genos said,
"Yeah..." Saitama replied,
"All right, Sensei. Good night," Genos said, bowed once, and went home for today,
"Yeah, see you," Saitama replied,
"Stay safe, Genos," Nadia added,
As Genos goes to his separate way, Saitama donned a concerned look behind the cyborg's back and Nadia then turns to him, "What happened between you two?"
"Well... I may have told him that he'd become my disciple after we became heroes," Saitama answered, "Though, I don't think picking him is the best choice..."
"Huh..." Nadia hummed, "Well... I'm sure you'll figure something out,"
Saitama and Nadia then walked their way back to the Apartment Building in City - Z and it was rather peaceful as the sun was setting in the distance.
But after some time, the two soon spotted someone running towards them and it was none other than Sneck himself.
"The newcomer seminar isn't over yet!" Sneck yelled, "In this business, there's a thing called rookie crushing. A lot of us heroes hate to be outranked. So we crush newbies early on... like this!"
Sneck charges forward and attempted to punch Saitama first. But after landing a punch, Saitama simply knocked Sneck out with a single hit and the two just stared at the knocked-out hero.
Moments later, Assassin rematerializes and Nadia quickly notices her arrival, "Master, Do you wish to dispose of this man?"
"No need, he isn't that much of a threat, to begin with," Nadia responded,
"Understood," Assassin responded, and then dematerializes afterward,
"Man, they're always active around you, aren't they?" Saitama commented,
"It's their job, of course," Nadia said, "My safety is their utmost concern. But they always ask before doing what I want them to do,"
'Why do I feel a bit jealous about it...' Saitama said to himself,
"But enough about that, Let's go home," Nadia said, and Saitama agrees while dismissing the thought as well,
The Following Day
Nadia was making her way to the public library alone, and she was on a phone that listed the names of all Class A Heroes. There were organized by rank, and she found her name at the very end of the list.
Upon arrival at the public library, Nadia enters and went to the usual spot after the librarian greeted her.
As she picked up a book from one of the shelves, Nadia soon heard a voice in her mind.
"The library again? When will you ever go somewhere nice for once," The Complaining Voice stated,
"This place is like the only place I know and love," Nadia said quietly so as to not get the attention of the librarian, "So don't judge me for it,"
"Well, you're a registered Hero, aren't you? Wouldn't there be places for you to just waltz in without consequence?" The Complaining Voice inquired,
"Yes, but I don't like to take advantage of my benefits. That's just plain rude for everyone," Nadia pointed out, "Even for other Class A's such as myself,"
"She's right, you know" The Strict voice followed, "Besides, why are you even complaining in the first place?"
"Because it's always the same place over and over again!" The Complaining Voice yelled,
Nadia and the other voice groan in annoyance at this tone, and the latter decided to silence her for the time being.
"I'm terribly sorry for that slip," The Strict Voice said,
"It's not much of a big deal, after all. She is the complaining part of me after all," Nadia assured,
After that conversation had ended, the librarian was indeed within earshot of Nadia's voice. But wasn't entirely present when the conversation began.
"Nadia, who are you talking to?" The Librarian questioned,
"Oh, just reciting some dialogue that I've read in a book," Nadia playfully lied,
"Ah, I see," The Librarian understood and went to tend to the other shelves
Nadia sighs as she felt a little bad about lying to her. But dismiss it as she went to her usual reading spot in the library.
After reading a couple of books later, Nadia soon hears footsteps nearby. But pays no attention to it as she kept reading her current book.
But when the footsteps stopped near her, she then looks up and saw a man with light blue hair, and yellow eyes, wearing a white jacket over a gray shirt, a green circle necklace, and black trousers.
"Excuse me, Are you perhaps, Nadia?" The man questioned,
"I am, why do you ask," Nadia answered,
"My name is Amai Mask, the top-ranking hero of Class A," Amai Mask revealed,
"Top-ranking, that means you're the First Placer of all Class A Heroes," Nadia pointed,
"I am, but I also handle the evaluation of Heroes within Class A," Amai Mask stated, "And you just so happened to be quite an interesting individual besides that Class S Hero,"
"I assume you're referring to Genos?" Nadia assumed,
"Why of course, but I have yet to meet him since my only intention is to meet you first considering the test results you held in the exam," Amai Mask said, "Besides the written exam, I must say that you're score in the physical exam is quite impressive,"
Nadia simply rolled her eyes at this comment and continued with her reading. Then, Amai Mask soon asked a question to her, "So tell me, what is your opinion about the Exam?"
"It's nothing special, but there were several things that were unnecessary that I want to point out. But that's for the staff to decide, not mine," Nadia answered without batting an eye at him,
"I see," Amai Mask said, "And before I go, there is something that I would like to say,"
Nadia then glances up from her book, and she could see that smile that's proven to be a bit false in her opinion, "In this industry, A Professional Hero must always be a beautiful symbol of justice. But that is merely my philosophy,"
Nadia frowned at this philosophy as if she had grown somewhat irritated at the term 'Symbol of Justice'. She didn't say a word but still kept frowning at this Hero.
"Well, that is all I have to say. Other than what I said, I welcome you to the team," Amai Mask said, turning to leave, but gives out one last comment, "We expect great things from you... Nadia,"
Amai Mask then leaves, and Nadia just stared as she watched him go. Once he was gone, she immediately closes her book, grabbed a couple of books she has yet to read, and went to the counter.
The Librarian knew what this meant, but she and Nadia had made a conversation regarding Amai Mask's visit, "Is he your friend?"
"No, he's a Class A hero and all," Nadia replied,
"I see if he came to see you. Then I can only assume that you are a hero yourself?" The Librarian assumed,
"I was certified yesterday," Nadia revealed,
"In that case, I wish you good luck, and be safe as you help others in need," The Librarian stated,
Nadia simply bows her head, grabbed the books she borrowed, and left the library afterward.
As she walked out of the library, she makes her way home to read the books she borrowed. But as she walked down the streets, Nadia slows down on the sidewalk as she recalls Amai Mask's words.
When reminded of the words 'Symbol of Justice'. All she could do was clench her fist and a look of disdain appeared on her face.
Her eyes didn't change, but one could tell that she is indeed angry from her expression alone.
Without warning, Nadia raises her fist and ends up punching through a wall so hard that it formed a large crack while unintentionally using her magic in the process.
"Symbol of Justice..." Nadia muttered in disdain, "What an absurd idea..."
After that, Nadia continued with her walk. But people within the area noticed her action and found it quite scary despite her age.
Sometime later...
Nadia kept walking her way back to the Apartment in City - Z when all of a sudden she spots something peculiar in the distance.
A large man wearing an overly sized jacket with his hoodie on was walking on the other side of the street. It wasn't out of the ordinary, but he does stand out of the ordinary.
She decided to tail him for a while and see what he was up to.
This would lead her to the grocery store and sees the man going to get some flour and other essentials.
After he had bought the groceries, Nadia continued to tail him and it eventually leads them somewhere with no one around.
Thus giving her the opportunity to question this man.
"Excuse me!" Nadia called out,
The man stopped, and it appeared that he had tensed up the moment he heard her voice. He then slowly turned his head around, and it soon revealed that it was none other than Armored Gorilla himself.
"Y-Yes?" Armored Gorilla nervously questioned,
"I wondering who you were," Nadia said, "You're that cyborg I met that other day,"
"D-Do you need something?" Armored Gorilla inquired while feeling a bit uneased by her,
Nadia simply smile and remained a positive attitude towards him.
A few minutes later
They arrived at some takoyaki shop, and Armored Gorilla lets her in.
Apparently, the shop was opened not long ago and it seemed more like a decent place to eat some Takoyaki.
"Would you like to order something while you wait?" Armored Gorilla inquired, and Nadia hummed in response,
Armored Gorilla then proceeded to do some cooking while Nadia sat down and waited for her meal.
After a while, a man revealed himself and serves freshly cooked takoyaki to Nadia.
"Here you go," The man said, and places the plate on the counter,
"Thank you very much," Nadia thanked then began eating them one at a time.
"So, My friend said that you wanted to speak to me?" The man said,
Nadia nods then swallows to clear her mouth, "After my encounter with Armored Gorilla. I've grown interested in meeting you, Dr. Genus,"
"Really? And what is it that you want to talk about?" Dr. Genus inclined,
Nadia stated a couple of things like his research, his achievements, and even the monsters he created. She praised him for the hard work he had to achieve.
Although, he dismisses them as he had given up on his ambitions towards evolution and devotes his time to running a takoyaki shop as what he needed to change.
Then comes the topic of interest.
"By the way, what made you change?" Nadia asked,
"Oh, it happened when Saitama defeated my ultimate creation," Dr. Genus admitted, "But before he did, he even reveal how he had gained his immense strength,"
"Can you elaborate on what he had done?" Nadia asked,
Dr. Genus elaborated on Saitama's training regimen. Which was something Nadia immediately didn't believe as the training regimen was too simple to even give absurd amounts of power to one person.
Genus admitted that he had the same reaction as well, but he then apply some theory he deduced which was something called a limiter. Nadia wanted more information about this theory, but Genus told her that he was still working on it as it was relatively new and still needed some confirmation on some points of his theory.
Therefore, Nadia decided to change the topic to something else.
"Genus-san, I must say that your work is incredible," Nadia said, "But there is something I wanted from you,"
"Wanted from me?" Genus repeated,
Nadia then opened her bag, and pulled out a small vial that contained the remnants of a man-made drug known as the 'Biceps King'.
Genus took the vial from her hand and stares at it with a curious look on his face.
"What is this?" Genus questioned,
"It's a man-made drug," Nadia answered, "It's capable of turning a muscular man into a giant in a matter of minutes. The reason why I brought this up is that I wanted to know how it was made,"
"But why me? Surely, you could have sent this to someone else," Genus said,
"Well, your story from Armored Gorilla convinced me that you're more reliable than any scientist I find on the net," Nadia admitted, "And the fact that you've done all these things on your own pique my interest even further,"
"What makes you think that I'll do it?" Genus questioned curiously than cautiously,
"Well," Nadia proceeds to pull out her phone, and showed the bottom of all Class A Heroes, "I always give something in return,"
Genus now knows that Nadia is a certified hero, and he had several assumptions about what she was going to offer for his services. He glanced at the vial then back at her.
The tension between them was filled with uncertainty. But they would stay like this minute until a decision was made.
That is it for this chapter! Normally, I'd make a third part. But I've decided to go for two since I feel like ending this chapter here than prolonging it with boring stuff.
And you may ask what these two have in store. Well, you'll find out in the future.
That is all I have to say, if you have questions, let me know and I will do what I can to answer them. Stay safe from the virus, and I will see you all in the next chapter!
