Chapter 14: Cherri Checks In
Yet another short, long, or medium chapter depends on how you look at it. Hope you guys are having a good summer.
"Oh man, that was some party."
It turns out all of the hotel residents got really intoxicated last night and passed out on the floor, the couch, the bar, everywhere. Thankfully, Mabel and her friends, Candy and Grenda, were sleeping over at the shack in the living room while Dipper had the bedroom all to himself.
Cherri was the first person to wake up with a massive hangover, "Ow, shit." Massaging her temples hoping to get most of the dizziness out of her system. "Ughh..." Vaggie was the next person to wake up, "This is why we shouldn't have any alcohol in the hotel." "Worth it." Said Angel, Husk groans behind the bar, "It's too fucking early to argue." As he pulls himself up on the counter. Alastor sat himself up on the couch, "I'm not fond of tea, but some ginger tea is the quickest way to get rid of hangovers." And stumbles slightly as he walks into the kitchen, almost like a new born fawn. "Niffty, darling. I require your assistance." Popping her head out of a pile of left over snacks and empty cups, Niffty scoops up the garbage and follows Alastor into the kitchen.
Cherri looks around the lobby to find Angel starting to wake up next to his passed out sister and brother. "How did we get in this pile without trying to killing each other?" Angel questions as he tries to get his head to stop spinning. "Let's call that one a miracle." Said Molly as she starts to get up slowly, "Can you two keep it down? My head hurts." Arackniss complains.
One cure of hangovers Later
It was a simple easy breakfast for everyone: coffee, eggs, toast, bacon, espresso, and cereal. It was work day, so that means everyone has to pitch in to help around the hotel and the shack. "What!?" Cherri exclaimed, and that means EVERYONE. "It's the deal we have here. Either work here in the hotel or the shack, or become a customer." Said Charlie, "Since when did that last part happened?" Husk ask, "Yesterday." Charlie answered, Stan was a little tipsy last night after the party and agree with Charlie on the new rules.
"Well don't take this personally. But I don't think being part of the rehab isn't for me." Cherri admitted, "Think I can help provide some explosions for any event or party?" Charlie and Vaggie shared a look before Vaggie responds, "We'll see what we can do about it."
*BAM!*
The front doors suddenly flies open, and standing in the middle of the entrance is Mr. Mystery himself, Stan Pines. "Alright people, look alive. We got tourist coming in at nine on the dot. That means more attractions for them and more money for us." Stan announces, he turn his attention to the new hotel resident. "You're name is Cherri, right? Not gonna question why your folks gave you that name. You're on register duty. Wendy's out with her family on a fishing trip today, so you're filling in for her." Cherri shrugged her shoulders, "Shouldn't be too hard. I use to work in my own small fireworks business." Now that got Stan into thinking, "Fireworks business, eh."
Charlie raises her hand, "Stan, it's 7:30 in the morning." She pointed out, "That doesn't stop people from traveling here. And with our new radio attraction podcast, thanks to Alastor, we're making more money than before." It turns out the Toby lives up to his name of determined when he wasn't going to give up his radio show for Alastor to take over. So it became a war, so to speak, of Alastor having his own radio podcast shows at the hotel. He has the power and the equipment, so there's no stopping him to broadcast his stories throughout Gravity Falls.
"Point taken." The princess sighs as she and everyone else went to their rooms to freshen up and be ready for work. "By the way, where am I going to crash?" Cherri ask, "We have a room on the third floor on the left side of the hotel." Charlie answers as she hands Cherri the key to her room. "Don't loose your key." And thus, the spunky powerhouse went to her new room for a shower. 'This is going to be a long stay.'

True to Stan's words, people came poring in at nine on the dot. Mabel was working as the bellhop at the hotel, and Dipper was helping out Cherri when there were too many customers to handle alone, while everyone was working double time at the hotel and in the shack. "And that concludes our tour, feel free to buy and browse from the gift shop." Stan says as he leads the tour to the gift shop.
"That'll be $6.18." the woman handed Cherri the money, "Thanks, here's your change." Cherri hands the change for the $10.00, so far everything's check out good. Stan saw the transaction, 'She's does know how to work the register, but I think there might be something else for her.' Stan wanted to find a job suitable for Cherri. Something to her liking and in her field of work. That's when he recalls she uses less deadly explosions back at the party. A smile slowly crawls up on his face as his thoughts gathers into one idea. "Oh hey, Cherri. Once you're on your break, I want to show ya something." Cherri just shrug and said, "Sure."
Break Time
After half an hour, Cherri follows Stan to the far back of the shack, "I know what you're thinking and no, I don't do—" "Not that." Stan cuts her off, "It's actually about these explosive beauties." He opens one of his many supplies closets to show her all of his fireworks got hidden in the back, and there were a lot. "Oh." This was unexpected and a blessing all in one. "As you can see, I have some dangerous illegal fireworks that needs to be sold." Stan explains to an eager bomb lover girl, "Fucking A. I'm with ya on this!" said Cherri with a grin never leaving her face.
"Glad you agree. Now help me carrying these to my car. We're going to meet our buyer." Stan shoves a box full of fireworks into Cherri's arms before grabbing one himself, "But isn't selling them here at night is a better option?" Stan turns to her and ask, "Are you nuts?! I'm not having no cops sniffing around here!" he then explains, "We're taking these outside of town to meet our buyer." "This is going to be the most interesting summer." Cherri proclaim as she helps Stan carries the fireworks to his car.
Time Skip
It was late in the afternoon when Stan and Cherri came back after their "delivery run" when Wendy came back after her trip. "My dawgs, what's up?" she greets as she enters the hotel. All of the tourist left so that leaves every hotel residents to walk freely in their true demon forms. So when Wendy opened the door with no knocking or whatever, everyone jumped a little, or a lot, out of their skin. Probably got another heart attack. "Whoa, am I going nuts, or did everyone got a new style on everything?" the red head lumberjack said jokingly.
"That's it. We're installing cameras outside the hotel." Vaggie announces fed up with how many close calls they had with humans coming in and nearly getting seen by them in their in their demon forms: from coming around the corner, to coming out of the elevator. "Whoa sorry for the sudden entrance." Wendy apologies, Charlie kindly waves her off, "It's not your fault. It's just hard to keep up with appearances when we think everyone has left. Dipper and Mabel were working on a secret knock to let us know it's them and Soos at the door." Sitting not far from them were the twins in question with Alastor, Angel and Cherri debating on what kind of knocking rhythm they should use. One that's not very command for others to use it or too hard to remember. But soon called it quits when they heard Vaggie's announcement.
"Well for all that matters, I think your demon forms amazingly cool." Remembering her reasons for coming here, Wendy pulls out her flip cell phone, which somehow has access to the internet unlike the other old flip cellphones. "Also, did you guys even notice the different reactions of people coming in here lately?" she ask to everyone in the hotel. Looking back on today, there were a lot of flashing cameras and obsessive squealing's from teens and young adults. And some of them ask Dipper and Angel to have a photo together. Angel groans thinking the worst has happened, "Please don't tell me that someone was filming at the party of me, Cherri, and Dipper's performance."
Wendy made a wincing expression and answers, "Sorry guys. Tambry recorded both of your performances separately, and posted it online last night." "Yeah, should of expect that to happened." Angel admitted, while Dipper was freaking out and breathing heavily, "This is bad, if anyone from home sees this. They will never let this down!" Angel places a comforting hand on Dipper's shoulder while Charlie walks over to him, kneels down to his level and says in a calming reassuring voice, "Don't worry what they'll think, Dipper. They just don't know how talented you are. It'll be okay." "You don't know these guys, Charlie." Said Dipper, "They have found many ways to bully me since day one at school. They WILL make sure that people like me are beneath them, and to make their lives a living hell. While they get away scoff free."
They were told last night that Dipper got teased by other kids because of his birthmark, but to bully him to no end just because he's a little different from them. Is no excuse to torment his life for their enjoyment. "Well that's going to change." Charlie declare, "Whoa, Charlie. Wait a second and listen to me." Vaggie stops her girlfriend and pulls her a side to talk, "I know you want to help people, but you shouldn't go directly to kids you hardly don't know. Besides, this is Dipper's choice of how he wants to handle it." Bowing her head and closing her eyes, Charlie lets out a sign and looking back into Vaggie's eyes knowing what she says is true. "You're right, I can't interfere. But I can at least give him some advice." "That's acceptable." Vaggie agrees.
Even though they're a few feet away, Dipper heard everything they were saying, and he couldn't help but feel happy that Vaggie and Charlie were letting him to make his own choices. To him, they were almost like his big sisters or cousins. 'I guess last night really got through to them.' Angel smiles softly knowing that Dipper can handle a little fans, and that the girls were going to give some advices about going against a bully or any scenarios to over come the bullies. 'Maybe I should give Dipper some lessons on how to handle guns, along with how to fight and how to use 'em.' Angel thought while hoping that the boss from Trendy's Deals doesn't get the chance to watch that video.
And we are done! Of chapter 14.
If you guys really want to know more for what season 2 is going to be, then you're gonna have to wait for Gideon Rises(A.K.A. "Go to Hell Gideon Charles Gleeful!" And yes, that is the title). Because that's when I'll release more info on those chapters. I figure to cover up on what season one is going to be, before heading to season two.
The whole handling guns, came to me when I remember of a time I went with my mom to one of her after work meetings to discuss how to handle a gun attack situation and how to avoid getting shot. It's more like an education of what to do when someone comes in with a gun, a fight or flight scenario. And how to jam the intruders gun and stun him in order to get away. It was a really good self-defense lesson that I think I should ad this in my story.
Also a shout out to one of the readers for suggesting "Cowboy Times skit" for the next upcoming chapter. I'll see what I can do.
See ya.
