Halloween Horrors
Chapter Four
Richard Castle had finished up his chat with the fans at the Barnes & Noble bookstore. The female manager was extremely thrilled with the idea that the mystery author was a big hit with the fans. Even though only a few of them left a little bit earlier.
Castle had been sitting in his Grey Mercedes getting ready to leave the parking lot. He had called his wife Kate Beckett at home now with the kids as his mother had left for her own apartment complex in Manhattan.
She had received a phone call from a security officer a friend of hers walking into an apartment and finding something of horror in his eyes. It was a male body Jerry Robbs having been shot in his head and chest.
"Are you sure Arthur?" she needed to say over the phone.
"Are you kidding Captain? he was shot in the head and his chest had crimson all over his couch and brown rug. I have a feeling that the hallway security cameras will be able to see it on the screens?" he responded with a hand through his salt & pepper hair at age 52 years old.
"I will call the 12th precinct to send the crime scene unit to the apartment and go from there Arthur," she says needing to find out more about her husband's tour is going today.
"Thanks, Kate, I will wait for them to let them inside since I don't wish to have the residents walk inside to the ugly sight," he responded with an exhale.
It didn't take all that long for the area police cars to be heading for the apartment complex with two units and the crime scene unit at the precinct to be arriving a few moments later with the coroner Doctor Lisa Anderson having taken over for Doctor Syndey Perlmutter.
Arthur had heard the knock on the apartment door as it was a rather loud order to make him jump. He slowly walked over to the door with a deep breath. "I am sergeant Jordon's and this is my partner. Where is the body as the coroner is heading this way as with another unit." he alluded to say with Arthur to be showing the bloody body on the brown couch.
"This is how I found him, sergeant. I have no idea whether the residents or security were able to see anything on the security cameras." he paused for a moment.
"We will have the teams talk with the residents and the security footage," he tells Arthur. "Is there anything else to tell us, Arthur?" he noted with asking the question.
"Not really, Sergeant." he cried out. "Do you need me any further?" he had to say to them needing to head for his office even though it had gotten late.
"For now Arthur, please be sure to give us your phone numbers so in case you're able to come up with any other details." Sergeant Jordon's said calmly with his partner to take down the numbers from his law firm.
Meanwhile, the Coroner Doctor Lisa Anderson, and her assisted Joanie arrived with the stretcher and large black body bag to be taken back to the Coroner's bay in Manhattan.
