Gus Porter, a regular witch, or a warlock since he is a male counterpart of a witch. He was quite an avid fan of all things human in a little place within the monstrous Demon Realm called: The Boiling Isles. These lands were the remains of a dead titan as big as a mountain that has been dead for as long at only a few witches can remember. It was a usual day in this this strange and peculiar world. For most of his life, it was pretty much boring, but one day; a certain human teenage girl named Luz Noceda came into the Boiling Isles from the Human World not too long ago.
Luz has been living in the boiling isles for at least a month now, and she was quite an interesting human to be friend with. As a matter of fact; Luz immediately became one of Gus' best friends as soon as they laid eyes on one another. This human girl that accidentally stumbled upon the Boiling Isles was quite a person to interact with and a beautiful looking human girl as well.
In his room, Gus was practicing some illusion spells since he is going to be in the Illusions Coven, one of the big nine covens in the Boiling Isles for people to join in. Of course, he knew that the system was crooked and corrupt with Emperor Belos and his conformist regime. It was about one month that past since Luz rescued Eda, the Owl Lady from being petrification, the capital punishment for wizards and witches that refuse to join any covens within the land, which is a capital crime. Since the affair, Below ultimately decided to spare Eda's life by order of the Titan whom the emperor can supposedly communicate with, but Eda can't really do Magic anymore, but Luz, who is like a new daughter to the Owl Lady, will help her with that.
The young, short boy was in his room studying more human things, even though he doesn't really get most of the human objects correctly summed up. Still, he was happy with his little human knack. What he was doing was looking up a handheld console game and studied it's behavior like a wild animal in captivity. "Gus, are you in there, son?" It was Perry Porter, the news reporter for the Boiling Isles, and Gus' loving father. "I just want to see how you are doing."
"Come on in, dad." said Gus, still studying the video game up close and personal. He heard his bedroom door open, and his father enter his bedroom. "Whatcha up to?"
"Just studying a game. I wanna see how humans interact with it." Gus replied. "It appears humans play these devices for their own amusement and entertainment, something like a duel or an execution by wild animals."
"Game?"
"Yeah, humans call them video games. That's what Luz told me before yesterday."
"Well, it's very fascinating to have a human on the Boiling Isles, you know?"
"I agree. And dad... can i talk to you about something?"
"Sure Gus, what's wrong?"
"Nothing! Nothing's wrong, although I was thinking of something that has been going on for at least three weeks now." he sat on the bed, and his father sat next to him, waiting to hear what his own boy had to say.
Deep down, something was troubling him on the inside, and he was a little afraid to admit it, even to his own father. Of course, Perry is family so he needed to talk to about his little... conflict. "So come on. What's going on?"
"Well... you see... I... I don't know if I can say it." Gus looked a little sheepish now.
"Come on Gus, I am your dad. Just tell me." he wrapped his arm around his shoulders.
"OK, OK." Gus then cleared his throat and admitted "I'm... in love with Luz, okay? There. I said it. I am in love with her."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I mean, she is very beautiful for a human, and you should see her curves around her torso. She's kind, she's lively, she's always up for anything that can come in her way. I mean, who wouldn't want a girl like that? Not to mention she has nice legs too."
"Well, i'm glad you told me this. Have you told her?"
"I don't know if I should."
Perry raised his left eyebrow in confusion, and he asked: "Why not?"
"Because her heart belongs to Amity." Gus admitted. "I mean, I'm happy for them, but Luz, she's so cool and all."
"The girl from the Blight Family? Those folks are bigoted, pompous snobs."
"Her parents, yes, but Amity and her siblings are nothing like their parents." Gus said. "I mean, I wish Luz could be my girlfriend, but i'm afraid she might say no to me."
"Ah, Son." said Perry. "I know how you feel. I know you are feeling shy around her right now, but i think you might not feel better until you get it out of your chest. Because it sounds like you are dying to say you love her, and how you feel about Luz."
"I know, but I'm afraid of rejection a little bit." Gus admitted sheepishly.
"Oh, who isn't afraid of rejection? But the point is, you shouldn't be afraid. If you tell Luz how you feel, you will feel so much better about yourself, even if she rejects you. Besides, you said she is one of the nicest people you have ever meat, you?"
"Yeah."
"Well there you go. You need to get it out of your system, champ. I know you'll feel better if you just talk to her about it." Perry encouraged him. "So come on, what do you say?"
"I say... I'll do it. But what about Amity? I know she's nothing like her parents, but I don't want her to summon her abomination on me."
"Don't be silly, Gus." Perry chuckled. "I highly doubt that would happen. And besides, if she did send an abomination to kill you, I would never allow it. I would protect you with my life if I have to."
Gus smiled with immense gratitude, then hugged Perry. "Thanks dad." he said
"Anytime son. I'm glad we had this conversation. Now go on, and just tell her how you feel. OK?"
"OK."
