'Where is she?! I gotta find her! I can't let anything happen to her, I can't let her down! Her life is at stake! Come on Eddie, where did you take her!' Spider-Man thought in horrific desperation as he frantically searched the whole city for her.
Over at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base Harry Osborn is meeting with an agent that goes by the name Coulson about the discovered body of Captain America. "I'm sorry mister Osborn but like I told you over the phone SHIELD has no interest in doing business with Oscorp, not after your father was the green goblin AND your recent business partnership with Wilson Fisk." The annoyed agent told him, clearly in a hurry to get to other issues. As Coulson was walking away Harry swiped his ID badge. "Sorry Coulson but no SHIELD flunkee is gonna stop me" the wealthy bitter man whispered to himself with sinister satisfaction before proceeding to sneak into the facility.
'I've stopped 5 muggings, 2 store robberies, a grand theft auto and I helped an old lady across the street but there's NO SIGN OF VENOM OR GWEN!' Come on Pete, think… venom would want you to watch so he must be somewhere we would look for him… but where.' The web head thought as he started to feel hopeless.
Inside the triskelion Harry is sneaking around surprisingly well, until finally he comes upon the room with Captain America's body inside, the scientists had just left to get coffee as Harry slipped in. "Alright super soldier, I just need a little of your blood, there we go that's it" the determined young Osborn grumbled as he draws blood from the war hero but just as he was leaving he saw the body start to twitch and heard moaning from it. "What?! Are you actually still alive!?" He couldn't help but exclaim in the utmost shock.
" I've checked everywhere I could think of and still nothing! WHERE ARE THEY!" he shouted just as he came face to face with the billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist in red and gold armor. "Ironman? What are you doing here?" "Funny you should mention that Spider-Man, see I got a security alert from a warehouse I own showing a big guy in black with spider powers. I thought it was you but I guess not…" " oh it's so much worse! Venom is half angry revenge seeking guy and half Oscorp super slime. The symbiote enhances the body and twists the mind, trust me it's really dangerous. The thing is Stark, he took someone important to me, you've gotta help me get her back!" "Whoa take it easy web head. Of course I'll help, I'm not just going to send you to my warehouse by yourself you know." The armored hero joked while putting his hands up in surrender, but the rich heros carefree nature was really pissing Peter off.
When ironman and Spider-Man made it to the Stark warehouse they found venom hoisting Gwen up in the air. "Took you long enough to squirt! We were getting so bored waiting we nearly started the party without you!" The symbiote man taunted with glea at the thought of just killing Gwen. Peter just immediately lunged at venom knocking off the platform he was standing on but on his way down he webbed Gwen in place, while Spidey and venom were occupied Tony flew over to try and help the blonde free. "Ok kid hang on and we'll get you out of there" the armored hero said but as he started blasting the web lines bounding the young woman, the web lines started lashing out at Stark.
When venom was about to bite the wall crawler's head off and Tony still unable to free Gwen from the attacking webs Spidey desperately cried out to the arrogant genius hero "ironman! He reacts badly to loud noises!" "On it web head!" He quickly replied pressing a button on his gauntlet that amidded a sonic pulse that broke down the black web lines and made venom clutch his head in pain. "No! We will not be stopped that easily! You will suffer for all you did to us!" The crazed goo villain declared before jumping up to Gwen, swatting ironman to the side and grabbing Gwen up. "This is the price you pay, the price everyone you love pays just for knowing you!" He shouted out through his jagged teeth and slippery tongue before taking his long clawed hands and jabbing them right into Gwen's lower back.
"Nooooo! Gwen! Hold on Gwen hold on!" The young super powered man panicked as he bent down to Gwen's bleeding side. Meanwhile ironman had started to chase after the fleeing fiend only to stop when he saw the extent of what happened. "Listen kid, I've called an ambulance. I'll stay with her until they arrive but you can't be here. You've got a monster to catch, you know exactly what it is so you're the best person to stop him. Make sure nothing else like this happens, good luck Spider-Man." With that Spider-Man reluctantly but determined swung off after the sinetiant slime man.
Peter eventually found him on the roof of the daily bugle. "Look around Parker! This was the place for our second chance and you stole that from us! We've toyed with you enough! Time for you to die!" He screamed while laughing but Spidey just stood there staring at him. "I don't believe you really want me dead." "Ha of course we want you dead…" "oh I'm not talking to you Eddie, I'm talking to it. The symbiote and I bonded. Twice. We have a special relationship, one I don't think it wants to just let go of so what do you say? Take me back?" He asked with his hands drawn out invitingly "ha you really think that would work? The symbiote has found a better partner in me!" He stated but not only did he say me and not us but his voice wasn't fluctuating all over the place, it just sounded like Eddie.
The symbiote quickly jumped off Eddie and headed towards Peter but just as it was nearly close enough to get on him, he jumped to his feet and started wrapping the black goo in layers upon layers of webbing hoping to hold it but he ran out of web fluid. Just as it seemed the symbiote was about to break out of it's webbing cocoon, a bunch of SHIELD helicopters arrived at the scene. Agent Phil Coulson descended abounding "it's ok Spider-Man. We'll take it from here." "Shield? What are you guys doing here?" "Shield has been watching you for a while, the big guy will make contact soon enough but until then good work." "Hey wait careful! That thing is really dangerous!" He shouted at the government men as they carted the symbiote up. "Don't worry we've got this under control, now why don't you go check on your girlfriend…" Coulson said with a very alarming wink.
Over at the hospital Gwen was stabilized but she would never walk again. She was being sent to a rehab center in England where she'd be living with her aunt and uncle, and maybe get some support from her old best friend Jessica Drew who's been over at Oxford. Peter was having a very hard time looking at Gwen just laying there with a wheelchair next to her bed but she steadied herself because she had something to say. "I've cared about you for a long time, I'll always care about you but everything that's happened to me, my legs, my family, was all because you had to play hero. I love that you want to help people but all it's ever done is hurt me and I can't be a part of your world anymore. Goodbye Peter." Before she asked him to leave.
When Peter was walking out of the front of the hospital drowning in his own guilt his phone rang. "Hello?" He answered only to be surprised at who was on the other end. "Parker!" "Flash?" "Look I know we've had our differences but I consider us friends now and I'm having a goodbye party tonight at the coffee bean and I'd really like you to be there." "Goodbye party? Where you going?" "The army. I figure it's time I try to do some good in the world like Spidey does." "Wow, I'm proud of you! Of course I'll be there but just be careful alright" he told his former bully that's grown into a good friend.
Over at the Osborn penthouse Harry has successfully bonded the super soldier serum from Captain America's blood with his father's goblin formula and is admiring the results before taking it himself.
A/N well venom has been dealt with, Gwen is paralyzed and off to England, ironman and Spidey had a little team up, flash is off to fight in the army, shield has some idea who Spider-Man is but how far does it go and how many agents know? Harry is about to upgrade his gobliness uh oh what's next for our friendly neighborhood wall crawling hero? Find out in the season 2 finale! Until next time true believers!
