Understanding the Past

Ezra wanted to know what the past was like and seems his master wouldn't tell him there was only one other person who might. As Ezra finds out he understands more why Kanan doesn't talk about the past and how it affects people differently.
Ahsoka was standing in the command centre looking out into hyperspace knowing her old master was truly gone. She was wondering where Rex had got to as she had lost contact with him over the last couple of years, but knowing him he is more than able to look after himself lost in her thoughts she didn't hear Ezra come into the command centre.
"Ahsoka"
"Oh hello, Ezra, I didn't hear you come in. What can I do for you?"
"What was it like in the clone wars. Kanan doesn't really talk about it."
"It was hard it affected everyone even Master Yoda, by the end of the war the Jedi had become corrupt they had lost their way. I left the Jedi order before it got too bad."
"What happened Ahsoka?"
Ahsoka waved Ezra over to sit next to her, she knew it was going to bring up some bad memories but she needed to get over it. She knew it wasn't Ezra's fault the young boy wanted to know what it was like growing up like Kanan and Ahsoka did.
"The reason I left the order was I had lost faith in them. I was at Cato Neimoidia with my master we were involved in some of the toughest fighting in the war. We were also involved in a lot of space battles and that is what we were doing the seps had just released a load of buzzer droids now I wasn't hit but it can't be said about my master who was. Once I rescued him, we crashed onto a ledge, next thing we know we were getting a comm from the temple telling us someone had bombed the temple and were needed back quickly so we left." Ezra couldn't believe what he was hearing he had heard from Kanan the Jedi Temple was a safe place for the Jedi. Ezra could see that retelling the story was affecting Ahsoka he was about to suggest that he didn't need to hear anymore.
"Master Skywalker and myself got back to the Temple and we were put in charge of the investigation as we were off world when it happened. But soon enough I was accused of planting the bomb and ended up on the run from both the Jedi and the clones who were sent to capture me." Kanan came looking for his padawan as well as Ahsoka but when he heard Ahsoka talking about the past he stopped and listen. "I ended up going to the lower levels and found the nano technology that was used to bomb the temple. Unfortunately, I was ambushed with who I thought was a Sith at the time I didn't know who it was and I was overpowered and knocked unconscious and then is when Master Skywalker and Master Koon found me and took me back to the temple to face The Council and the Republic courts for me actions."
"Wow Ahsoka. Did they ever find to real culprit?" Kanan was still stood out of sight listening in on the story he knew very little about.
"Yes. Just before the Chancellor was going to sentence me Master Skywalker came into the court with the real bomber a good friend of mine Barriss Offee and my life was saved."
"Ahsoka that is terrible. I have another question to ask you Ahsoka?"
This made Ahsoka worried but knowing the young boy meant well. Ahsoka sensed Kanan hidden in the door way listening in, she knew it brought back memories for Kanan as well. "Ask away Ezra."
"How did all the Jedi die?"
Ahsoka looked away as if she knew this question was coming and Ezra started to walk out. "Ezra, it was coming to the end of the war, I was helping the 332nd company with the Siege of Mandalore and the capture of Maul and we were on our way back to Coruscant when Order 66 happened. A good friend and the Commander fought his inhibitor chip a year before an ARC trooper from the 501st found out about these and went to the Chancellor with it and was unfortunately killed for it. I cornered him and found his chip and took it out. He saved my life from all the clones that were trying to kill us. Our ship crashed and we escaped. I joined the Rebellion but behind the scene as I could bring myself to fight again."
"What happened to your Master?"
"I don't know Ezra. Last I saw him he was running off to save the Chancellor."
"Thank you, for telling me Ahsoka I know it was hard but Kanan doesn't talk about it and I just wanted to understand what life was like before the Empire and know I can see how different it was and how much of a challenge it was."
"Ezra, the war was horrible, it was something that changed Kanan and I that is why we don't like to talk about it." With that Ezra walked out of the command centre. As Ahsoka was left sat in the command centre thinking about the effect the Clone Wars had on her, but also how it made her a better and stronger person.
"Ahsoka, I am sorry about all the questions from Ezra I know he has been asking me all about the war and I was too scared to answer."
"Kanan, I understand what you are going through."
"You know what really happened to your Master don't you?"
"Yes, I do Kanan, Anakin Skywalker once the Jedi who had no fear ended up with a huge fear of losing the people he loved and turned to the dark side to save those. Now he goes by a different name Darth Vader."
The once Padawans sat talking about the war remembering the interesting times like the second battle of Geonosis or Mortis. "Thank you Ahsoka."
"You can always talk to me about the past."
