Remus crossed his arms as he glared down at the passenger they had picked up at their last stop. The blond man made a good show of appearing unaffected by Remus' posturing, but like many baseline humans, Neville Longbottom could not control his scent. The botanist knew he was in trouble, even if he didn't know that Remus had smelled him not only all over the engine room but actually on the ship's mechanic.

And as if messing about with a ship's mechanic wasn't bad enough, there was the fact that Harini wasn't just the person who kept the Marauder flying. Harini was the only child of two people that Remus had loved almost as much as he loved his current spouse. Sirius may have been the one to officially raise her, taking over the formal role as parent, but as far as Remus and the wolf that dwelt inside of him was concerned, Harini was as much his pup as Teddy was.

"Is something wrong, Captain?" Neville asked nervously.

"As a matter of fact—"

The sound of combat boots running on scaffolding interrupted them. Not a moment later, Harini appeared. She was wearing mud brown cargo pants that looked like she had stolen from Dora and a rose tank top. The shoulder straps of a breast binder peeked out from around the edges of the tank top. The royal purple matched the laces of her black boots. Someone (likely their Companion Luna) had managed to corral Harini's long hair into a thick braid with a pale blue ribbon woven through it.

She was so beautiful that Remus felt like he couldn't breathe.

When did his pup get so grown up?

Harini paused coming down the stairs near Remus. Standing on the tips of her toes, despite being a step above him, she pressed a kiss to his cheek. Then she rubbed her own cheek against his, scent-marking him just as he had always scent-marked her. The reaffirmed pack bond between them hummed.

"Neville is gonna take me walking through the meadows around the ship and tell me about the plants. Isn't that exciting?"

"Yeah," Remus agreed weakly. Before he could really process it, his little girl was skipping out the bay doors with her arm interlocked with Neville's. When the nervous young man looked back over his shoulder, Remus gestured sharply towards his eyes and then towards Neville. Seeing the guy pale before turning back towards Harini soothed the ache in his heart just the tiniest bit.
