A/N: Hello there lovelies. How about another chapter update to please your viewing eyes? Yes? Well, here you go! Enjoy!

OOOOOOOOOOOOO

Scarlet sighed softly against Logan's lips as he kissed her, his body looming over her. His kisses sparked a different kind of fire in her that she didn't understand and she started squirming. Logan pulled back just slightly.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Hot," Scarlet complained, glancing at her arm which still showed that fire was moving under her skin. "How come you can't feel it?"

Logan smirked. "Who says I don't?"

Scarlet looked at him with an arched brow. "You feel the heat coming off my body and you're still kissing me like this?"

"Yeah."

"Weirdo," Scarlet commented, shaking her head.

Logan chuckled and kissed her again, his lips slowly forming a trail to her neck. "So I like my women…spicy."

Scarlet's breath caught as he kissed her neck, his tongue moving over the flesh and his teeth grazing the skin. She threaded her fingers through his hair and pulled lightly. Logan growled and bit down on her neck and she cried out his name.

"Ugh, you bastard," she mumbled as he soothed the burn with his tongue. "Just you wait, when I have the ability to fully move back, you're going to be in so much trouble. I'm going to kick your ass all over this damn mansion and the grounds."

Logan chuckled again. "Sure you will. You'll hurt yourself in the process and we'll be right back here, doing the exact same thing."

"The hell we will," Scarlet said, looking at him. "One time thing, this making out business."

"Sure," Logan said, kissing her again.

Scarlet knew this was wrong. Making out with Logan went against everything she had told herself was right. Because she couldn't fall in love. She couldn't get close to people. She couldn't have a happy ending.

And yet, here she was, making out with Logan. Letting her heart feel open and vulnerable. To this man that probably had feelings for the one person that supported this relationship monstrosity. And she wasn't resisting like she should. She was giving in. She wanted to give in. She wanted to have him against her like her dreams, moving hips to hips, skin to skin.

Oh God, Scarlet thought, turning her face away. That did it.

Logan looked down at her in confusion. "Maria?"

"I'm – I'm really tired, Funny Hair," Scarlet said, which was a half-truth. "Can I take a raincheck on this whole making out thing?" She yawned. "Being the host to fire is exhausting."

Logan stared at her for a moment, but rolled off of her and onto his side. Scarlet turned her back on him and stared at the wall as his arm wrapped around her. He pressed a kiss to the back of her neck and Scarlet shifted slightly.

"I'm sorry that I didn't listen to you," Scarlet whispered, sliding a hand over his. "About Pyro."

OOOOOOOOOOO

Logan listened to Scarlet begin to apologize about not listening to him. He could have easily told that he had told her so. She deserved it for being so stubborn and pigheaded sometimes. She had nearly gotten herself killed.

"Why did you do it?" he asked instead.

Scarlet sighed. "He came at me with Leticia in the way…I…I couldn't let her get caught in the crossfire. I had to stop him from hurting her."

Logan blinked. "So, you were protecting one of the kids?"

The teen nodded against his pillows. "I had to…she trusts me and he was aiming so close to her." She let out a little sound. "And then the fight escalated when I sent Leticia running to safety. At least, I hope she made it out okay."

"She did," Logan said, remembering how the little girl had come running to the garage to him and cried for the "big overgrown puppy" to help her big sister. "She made it back to the mansion in one piece and is probably dreaming about rainbows and unicorns right now."

"Leticia doesn't dream of rainbows and unicorns…unless she has a good night…" Scarlet whispered, shivering.

Logan pulled her closer to his body, not knowing what was so bad about the kid's dreams that it earned such a response from Scarlet. Maybe he didn't want to know. Given the girl's powers, it was probably something unpleasant and he didn't want to think about it.

"I want to help her," Scarlet said, yawning. "But I can't even help myself anymore. Which is a bunch of bullshit."

"You're just growing into your powers," Logan told her. "That's what Red said and she seems to know what she's talking about."

Scarlet shifted her leg and Logan felt like he'd been kicked. He tightened his grip on her and turned her slightly.

"Don't use your powers," he ordered, looking at her scarlet gaze. "That's how you're going to wind up hurting yourself more. And then I'm going to have to play Doctor for a lot longer than you claim to want."

Scarlet stuck her tongue out at him. "Then stop saying that Red knows what she's talking about and that I'm growing into my powers. I'm not. I have tons of powers that I already have control over. This thing that is happening to me, it's just a mistake. A stupid mistake of biology." She turned her gaze back to the wall. "Can I please go to sleep now?"

Logan held her close as she settled back down. "Yes. Sleep is what you need."

"And don't stare at me while I sleep, Logan. I don't want to suddenly open my eyes and find you looking at me like I'm something."

But you are something, Logan thought, but didn't say anything because he didn't want to argue anymore. Something that I can't fully grasp and yet, want to hold onto more than anything. He swiped his tongue over his lips. She's spicy and sweet at the same time, whether she cares to admit it or not.

Scarlet's breathing evened out as she slowly fell asleep in his arms. Logan watched the fire glow under her skin of her neck. It was mesmerizing. Beautiful even. He'd noticed it before when she had been out in the rain with him. It was like fire lived in her veins and responded to different stimuli, especially the rain.

But fire is so dangerous to her, Logan thought, narrowing his eyes as he recalled all the times she'd absorbed fire like this. The very thing that lives in her veins can be the thing that kills her because it makes her too hot. She is a double edged sword to her own damn self.

Logan settled on the bed and watched the glow until he fell asleep, breathing in the scent of her hair.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Scarlet knew she shouldn't be using her powers, but she couldn't help herself. She had to seek the person that hurt her. The one that made her this weakened.

Her consciousness searched the mansion, seeking him out until she found him. It appeared that he had been locked into a room that he couldn't escape from using his powers. She wondered how many other rooms there were like that – designed for all the mutants that lived in the mansion.

The teen stepped into view and Pyro growled, moving towards the barrier that separated them aggressively. Scarlet's eyes glowed and he was sent flying backwards into the opposite side.

"I'd seriously rethink your choices," Scarlet told him, putting her hands behind her back. "I can do this and I'm not even really here."

"Come and fight me, you bitch!" Pyro growled, rising to his feet again. "You're a fucking coward!"

Scarlet rolled her eyes. "Sure, I'm a coward. But there's the problem, Pyro. Cowards like you seek a fight because their dicks are too small and cowards like me, well, we end fights because we're good."

Pyro growled and hit his fist against the barrier, but it did nothing. Scarlet smiled at him, content to let him beat himself up.

"Seriously, keep it up. I don't mind seeing you this way." Scarlet bounced on her toes. "Finally putting the brat in a cage and making sure that he doesn't do anything stupid."

A slow smile stretched across Pyro's face. "You talk big because I'm in this cage, but we both fucking know something, Maria." He leaned close to the barrier between them. "I could end you so easily if there wasn't a barrier keeping me from escaping."

"Right."

Pyro's eyes lit up with fire. "I have what it takes to kill you. A little extra fire and you're weakened. A lot of fire, you're dead."

Scarlet twisted her hand behind her back and watched as Pyro crumpled, a look of agony spreading across his face. "And you forget, if I didn't want to play nice, I could have you dead in a second."

"So do it," Pyro ordered between his clenched teeth.

"I'd rather have you suffer a bit more first," Scarlet told him. "I'm starting to enjoy the fun of playing with my prey before they die."

"Bitch!" Pyro called out.

Scarlet sensed something happening with her physical body and looked back at Pyro. "Have fun sitting in your own little cage for a while, Pyro. Maybe I'll bring you some of your favorite magazines next time I visit."

She released Pyro from her power and brought her consciousness back to her body. Logan had both arms around her when she opened her eyes and he was lightly snoring as he slept the night away. Scarlet settled against him, feeling utterly exhausted and sore. She blinked once and she was out like a light.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO
