Chapter 2 A bloody fight

Forrest behind the Dragon temple, Dragon realm

Hearing what Nightshade had just said, Sin training kicked into gear. Jumping to his feet while picking up the sword from the ground. While with his other hand, Sin went for his gun.

While Nightshade stood in front of them as a group of 20 armoured Apes walked into view, Cynder, the closer one to Sin, was hissing, as her fangs were dripping poison from them when Rose stood by her Mum, as both were ready to strike.

Since waking up in this strange world with real-life Dragons who talked, now Apes were carrying all kinds of swords, crossbows, and clubs. At the same time, they wore medieval-style knight armour. What next, Unicorns and Phoenix?

Their smell was horrible dear god, did the Apes wash in a trash heap or something? A colossal ape walked in front of the Apes in stronger-looking armour. Sin guessed this was the Apes' leader stepping forward to them, carrying a giant crossbow in his paws, as his yellow teeth showed as he smirked with malice at them.

"Ah, what a catch Guardian Nightshade, Guardian Ivory and, of course, your hatchings. Witch one is the traitor of the Dark army." The Ape snared mockery to the Dragoness as he turned to look at Cynder with pure hate.

"Ghaul, the son of Gaul, what are you doing here? The Dark army lost anyone loyal to Malefor due to being hunted down and killed. So, your either stupid or dumb to attack us." Nightshade replied as she snared with hatred.

Cynder slumped upon hearing about her past but tried to hide this, but Sin noticed it. Was she using her element to affect the air at the moment? Sin could feel the air change suddenly to a much colder one.

Ghaul gave no response to what Nightshade had said to him and gave her a shit-eating grin.

"Like you, precious daughter! The "Terror of the Sky's" Hmmm? How many of your kind did she kill? Adults, Children and eggs for our precious lord? But you protect her and hide her from the crimes she committed! But don't worry, she will die slowly for betraying Malefor, and it will be glorious." Ghaul said while laughing like a mad Ape as he swung his weapon around.

As his Apes army joined in, the leader laughed, as Nightshade and Ivory snared with rage. Nightshade was thinking of muti of ways of killing the Apes. Sin turned to see Cynder near the bust, crying at what Ghaul had said. Sure, it was true Malefor corrupted her; but she still did those horrible things to her kind.

Rose went to move over to Cynder, knowing the pain she was going through. Knowing how much Cynder still blame herself for her past life. Rose was also shocked to see the Human hand touching Cynder body in a reassuring tone. Cynder stops moping to look at Sin with Surprise, to see the Human eyes burning with rage at the Ape leader.

Hearing what the Ape had just said about Cynder's past made him angry. From what the other Dragons had told him about how she had tried to correct those mistakes, to have a scum mocking her, no, he won't stand for it; Sin hated bullies. He knew that Cynder had done these things but agents her free will.

"Ok, you wannabe chimp, from what I been told of this world since I been here. Miss Cynder has more guts and courage in her little claw than you, and the flea army backs their combine. It doesn't surprise me like your precious leader had failed, like a coward, in his attempt to rule this world. I have more respect for someone who rights the wrongs of their path to make them a better person. Then the cowards who fallow other cowards." Sin yelled with rage to the Ape leader.

While brushing Cynder's side, she was shocked at what she had just heard, as were the Dragons and Apes. Sin saw what only a few others did after the defeat of Malefor. As Cynder looked at him with aww, this creature had defended her honour; he had only known her for a few hours. Cynder smiled softly as she didn't realise she had moved over to Sin and more into his grasp. As Sin turned to smile at her reassuringly, Cynder then felt her mother's tail wrap around her as Rose and Ivory stood next to her in support.

Ghaul snared with rage at Sin, who had dared to speak to him like that. He would enjoy slicing this creature's throat open.

Nightshade turns to smirk, seeing the Ape leader rage as she nods a thank you to Sin for defending her daughter's honour. Nightshade smiled, remembering her grandparents' story as a hatching on how Humans and Dragons protect each other. It was true now, even in the face of an enormous army.

"How dare you speak to me like that, and why do you defend these Dragons? Traitor, you are an Ape like us." Ghaul snared with hatred.

Sin just snared back, as the hand holding the sword started to feel warm and tingly as his rage built up before mock bowing to the Ape, raging Ghaul more.

"I'm a Human Ape! We may share some genes, but unlike your kind, we evolve to bring justice and respect. Unlike the flea market, you lot are." Sin said while mocking Ghaul further.

Sin and the Dragons watched the enemy aim their weapons at them. When Sin said, Human something clicked in Ghaul's head like he had heard of that word before, but he couldn't remember where. But his rage was clouding his mind as he turned to his army, screaming in Ape tongue.

"How dare you insult our kind? You will be slayed like the Dragons, and we will eat your meat." He said while snaring with rage.

Then ordering his army to attack, the Dragoness took to the sky as Sin rolled to the side to miss the arrows flying at them. Sin then took off his backpack before pulling out two throwing knives that once more had SAS on them, a drawing of a Lion on one and a Dragon on the other.

"Sin, we will be able to fight ok on our own. Take you, Sister, to safety. We can hold them off." Ivory said to him, worried that he would get hurt as it looked like he didn't have much to protect him.

"It ok, Lady Ivory. Like I told you, I was in the army. I know how to fight, plus this will protect me. I will keep an eye on Zira till she comes too." Sin replied to her with a smile.

Before showing her the handgun to the Dragoness, who only looked at it with confusement, how would that help him? But they sighed as they again moved in the air from the attacks.

"Cynder, keep an eye on Sin; help him if he needs help," Nightshade told her daughter.

Cynder nodded her head in reply as the 2 Guardians flew off with great speed at the Apes. Rose passed slower to help them out since she was not as fast at flying as her Mum or Lady Nightshade.

Nightshade eyes change to grey, and she lets out a draconic roar as Sin watches her body turn into shadows. Swinging her tail blade and stabbing right threw one Ape gut. As she dived into the Ape army, confusing them before she reappeared.

The Ape let out a piercing scream of agony as it coughs out blood from its mouth before dropping dead. While Nightshade pulled her tail out, showing no care for the Ape life.

Before she moved on to more of her prey, the Apes started to panic. With a lot only having crossbows, so at point-blank range, they were sitting targets for the Dragoness.

Rose and Ivory spat a blast of acid down on two of the Apes as they screamed in pure pain. Their fur started to melt as well as their bones from the lethal acid as it slowly ate away at them. Ivory and Rose then strike the Apes in their necks with the spike tails, injecting a more lethal poison. Soon the two Apes drop down dead, and they nod their heads before flying over to help Nightshade.

Sin and Cynder had killed two more Apes that had charged at them. Cynder smirked at how stupid the Apes were. As she used her fear breath on them both, Sin watched in amazement at what it did. Seeing the Apes yell and scream in terror while holding their heads in pain.

Cynder went straight to one biting at its jugular before ripping it out, as its blood poor out, caking her muzzle in blood. She then ran her claws against its stomach, ripping it wide open as the rest of the blood from the Ape rained down to the grass as. Cynder degutted the Ape as its organs dropped out in a bloody, gory mess. With that, the corpse drops to the ground nearby its body parts.

If Sin was not a trained soldier and his commanding officers drilled into him that it was killed or be killed attitude, he would be more in fear and shock at what he had seen. He had seen just as many more gory scenes from his war days. So, it didn't bother him too much, as he stabbed the other Ape killing it as well before pulling the sword out. As the Ape dropped dead before turning to see Cynder, as her muzzle was still dripping blood, she smiled at him with a wicked grin.

"Sorry, Sin, sometimes I get carried away when killing Apes; what they did to me hurts too much, and they deserve to suffer," Cynder said with pure hate as she looked down at the two dead Apes on the ground.

"It's ok, I understand. Wait, Cynder, watch OUT! "Sin said calmly to her before yelling, confusing her.

As she turns to look, she gasps in fear seeing Ape holding an enhanced red sword, charging right at her. She knew what the Ape had, a Dragon slayer sword. Design by dark mages to help slice through Dragon scales easily and take their souls.

Cynder knew she was in trouble as she felt Sin push her out of harm's way. She then watched Sin swing his sword at the Ape one. And to the shock of each of them, there was a blast of pure light as Sin's sword absorbed the Ape sword's magic. Before blasting it back at the Ape sword smashing the Ape sword and sending the Ape flying a few feet away.

Sin looks at Cynder in shock as she slowly gets over her near-death experience. Before giving Sin the same look, she had no clue what had happened. They then heard the Ape groan before getting back up, shaken.

Only for both Sin and Cynder to hear a mighty roar as a blur shot by tackling the Ape to the ground. As the Ape yelled in fear, Sin looked surprised to see Zira awake and digging her claws into the Ape's body, slashing madly as it screamed in pure pain before she crushed its neck by biting down on its neck, severing the spine.

Zira then let go while panting deeply as she glared at the Ape with distaste.

"That's what you get for trying to hurt my brother? "Zira yelled to the dead Ape as its blood started to soak the grass around it.

She turned to look at Sin before staring at Cynder to see if she was a threat. But she also looked at Sin's confused face; it looked like his whole world had turned upside down.

"You can speak English now!" Sin yelled to her.

Zira turned to look in confusement at what her brother had just said. But before she could respond, Cynder came into view to look at the both of them.

"We are still in a battle now; talk later," Cynder replied.

Zira was going to give a cocky reply to the Dragon when they saw the remaining 12 Apes trying to trap the others.

"Bro, you still got your gun of yours," Zira asked Sin as they ran to help as Cynder retook to the sky.

Sin nodded as he pulled out the gun and put it into his left hand. The sword was in his right. Cynder turned to look at the item again; this "Gun" thing, how was that going help them?

"Cynder, you might want to hold your ears since this is very loud." Sin told her.

Cynder shrugged as she moved ahead of them, as Zira and Sin gave chase.

Ghaul grunted in anger that his plan was not going to plan; he had nearly lost half his army because of these stupid dragonesses and that creature. An was about to fire his arrows into the Dragoness' neck, he glee for joy. But Cynder also saw a threat to her Mum, who was too busy slashing one Ape with her shadow claws while gutting another Ape. Ghaul saw one of his Apes hiding in a tree, and Nightshade had no clue.

"Mum, there's an Ape behind you. Look out!" Cynder yelled at her Mum since she was too far to back help her.

Nightshade heard her daughter cry's and turned around to see an Ape grinning at her and about to fire. She could not use her shadow moves to get out in time.

The Ape in the tree was about to fire and most likely kill Lady Nightshade when!

"BANG, BANG." As a loud sound blasted out, and it hurt like hell to both the Dragons and Apes

As Cynder felt and saw two items blast past her with incredible speed, she watched the Ape screech in pain before dropping out of the tree dead as blood flew from its head and chest from the strange things. Both the Dragons and Apes were shocked at what had happened.

Cynder turned to look at Sin, and as he was holding his gun, she saw smoke coming out of the hole. Cynder could also see Zira holding her paws to her ears, groaning. Did he do that with that gun thing?

"BANG BANG"

Cynder watched with amazement and fear as the gun fired these small things once more as they raced with fantastic speed into another Ape. Blood sprayed from the wounds it had made on the Ape, as it also dropped dead. Whatever was this strange weapon, it was very deadly, and Cynder looked at it with fear. But deep down, she knew Sin would never use it on them, and it did save her Mum's neck.

Ghaul was in shock and fear, and he knew this was a losing battle and that weapon was way too powerful for them to defend agents. He let out cries in Apes tongue, telling them to retreat into the Forrest. As he yelled, it wasn't over before going off with his army.

Rose, Nightshade and Ivory panted deeply as they were covered in blood and guts from the Apes. While they had a few cuts on their bodies, apart from that, they were fine. But whatever that weapon Sin used shocked them, but they would worry about this later.

They then flew back to where Cynder and Sin were to see the one Sin called Zira, was up as well and to see all three of them covered with blood. Ivory went straight to Sin, much to Nightshade's amusement and started to baby him. Licking over his face as he yelped in Surprise, as she listened to her ask if he was ok. An try to see if he was injured like any mother would do to their hatchlings.

Sin managed to pull her way, telling her he was ok with a smile. He liked Ivory for some reason. She reminded him of his Mum. Only for him to sigh sadly, remembering what had happened to his real Mum.

Ivory and Cynder saw him looking sad with worry, but he told them he was ok. But they didn't believe it, but they let it be as they watched Rose and Nightshade land.

The once green field was caked in blood and guts from the battle. Nightshade knew they needed to get back to Warfang soon.

"I think we must get back to Warfang as soon as possible. Sin Ivory will take you on her back. At the same time, I will take your sister Zira. It will be much quicker to get back that way. Plus, we must rest and clean before talking to the other guardians." Nightshade said to the other Dragons, Human and Lioness.

Zira turned to look at her, unsure if she could trust them, but she saw Sin look of reassurance. She nodded, as did Sin, causing the adult Dragons to smile.

Both Guardians lay down on their stomachs, and Sin grabbed his bag, packing the items back in before climbing Ivory back as Zira climbed onto Nightshade back. Soon the four dragons took off into the sky, leaving the battlefield behind.

Sin inner child was screaming in pure happiness at what was happening. He was flying on a Dragon. But his body was too tired to enjoy it. After talking with Ivory and Cynder for a while, he fell asleep. Zira stayed wild awake, though, watching everything.

"You are thinking of adopting them, aren't you, lady Ivory," Cynder asked the Poison Guardian.

"Hmmm, I might be Cynder if he accepts me as his new Mum. I know I can't replace her. But I can see his hurt and don't know why but I'm drawn to protect him like he was my real hatchling, But I can see you bonding a friendship with him too." Ivory said to her.

Cynder blushed a bit before straitening her wings as she kept her glide as they flew.

"He has seen the true me, not what of my past and what he said to Ghaul. Only a hand full have protected me like that before," Cynder replied as she looked at the sleeping Human.

Ivory said nothing but nodded her head in agreement; she could feel the bond the two had just started, but also something else she could feel coming from Cynder for the Human. As she smirked, knowing it was small but knew what it was, as she then heard Nightshade call out that they had arrived at Warfang
