Regrets

On the evening of April 15, the lawn of the Malfoy Manor was decorated beyond anyone's imagination. There were thousand of exotic flowers located all over, chairs lined up perfectly, and guest in expensive clothing milling about talking to one another. Today was an important day. Today was the day that Lucius Malfoy would wed Narcissa Black. It was to be a joyful day for all in attendance.

However, if someone was to look into the window on the second floor, they would find a small blond woman staring out with tears in her eyes. Narcissa had always knew that this day would come. She had dreamed of getting married since she was a little girl. In her dreams things were different though. She was happy. She was dressed in a beautiful white gown and she couldn't wait until she said "I do." In reality things were different. She was not happy. Her gown was expensive, but plain and not like anything she had ever dreamed of wearing. She didn't want be married, but she knew it was in her best interest to do so.

"I have to do this," Narcissa told herself. "By marrying Lucius I am insuring a great life for myself. I will have everything that I ever need. My children will grow up happy."

Saying such things was the only way that she would go through with this. She didn't love Lucius, so what. It wasn't like he really loved her either. Sure, they liked each other and spent hours together, but he wasn't capable of loving someone and because of that she knew she would never love him.

This wasn't about her though. She was twenty three. She could live ther rest of her life without love, as long as she was given an heir. She needed to continueher bloodline and so did Lucius. Blood was what mattered. As long as the bloodline continued and stayed pure, Narcissa could live her life loving any child that she would bare in the future.

Wiping her eyes, Narcissa stood up, plastered a smile on her face and set out to be wed to her husband.

A/n: So that's it. It was just a small idea that came to me. I hope everyone enjoyed reading it. Please leave a review to let me know what you thought.
