Annabeth had never understood people who chose to wake up early on the weekend. If given the choice, she would lay in for as long as possible - although normally her two younger brothers came bounding into her room well before 9am. Today was an exception though, as they, alongside her father and stepmom, were visiting her step grandparents for the weekend. She basked in the silence, and snuggled down deeper into her covers - ignoring her buzzing phone that was placed on the nightstand.

She refuses to be disturbed outside of business hours.

Her mind rushed with fantasies of the future, lulling her brain back to sleep. A soft smile graced her face, as she felt herself falling deeper into the abyss of peace.

That is, until a loud knock on her front door startled her into reality. Her eyes snapped open and she glanced round the room confused.

Rubbing her eyes, she pushed herself until she was sitting upwards and checked her phone. 10.25am.

Who was knocking at this time?

Another loud knock filled the quietness of her home and she groaned, standing up and shoving her feet into her slippers. Begrudgingly, she slowly made her way down the stairs.

'Im coming!' She replied as the person knocked a third time. Mildly irritated, she yanked open the door, eyes narrowing at the sight.

'You.'

Percy grinned sheepishly at her from the porch.

'Is that how you greet all your guests?'

She scoffed and let her eyes scan down his figure. His dark hair was damp, sticking to his forehead slightly and he looked like he had been awake for a while. She took in his swim hoodie and shorts, he must have just come from practice, and cursed herself as her heart fluttered slightly at the sight.

'You do know that it is 10am on a Saturday, right? Why are you here so early? Actually, why are you here at all?' She questioned him, ignoring the way his eyes flittered down her body, smile appearing on his face at her barbie pjs.

'Why? Did I interrupt your beauty sleep? God knows you need it.'

She gasped slightly at his remark and huffed, shoving against his chest and trying to ignore how firm it felt. He laughed and leaned against her porch, gazing down at her.

'You ass! Is that the reason you came here?To insult me?'

'Actually no. I messaged you a few times this morning and you didn't answer. Piper mentioned you were home alone and i just wanted to check you were okay.' He smiled sheepishly at her and averted his gaze to the floor.

She felt butterflies in her stomach at his words, and felt touched at the idea of someone caring enough about her to check.

'Oh. Well, thank you. Yeah, i just overslept i guess. Not everyone is the star of the swim team so need to be up early.'

She smiled at his soft blush as he shook his head slightly.

'Well, what can i say. I am amazing!' He replied dramatically, posing.

She couldn't help but laugh slightly as she rolled her eyes.

'Okay, is there anything else you need?'

He shook his head firmly, grinning at the girl.

'Nope, see you later Annabeth.'

'Bye Percy.'

She watched as he spun on his heel and wandered back up her lawn towards his own house, which conveniently was across from hers. A laugh escaped her as he tripped on a flower pot, trying and failing to style it out.

She shook her head in amusement as she closed the door.

This boy.
