Chapter 2 – BBFL (Best Bitches For Life)

"Good luck girls, have a nice first day at school." Our dad called as he made his way to his cruiser with a wave.

"Will do!" I called back as Bella gave a quiet thanks, making her way ahead of me to open the truck as I shut the front door, locking it behind us.

The cruiser pulled out of the drive first, dad making his way over to the station to start his day as Bella started up the truck, the engine coming to life with a loud belch, the rumble not dying down in the slightest as we pulled off.

Bella winced as I commented "Well, that's…something."

"It will probably be quieter by the time we get to the school." She said semi-hopefully, though judging from her expression she believed her words as much as I did.

I remained silent allowing Bella to concentrate on driving as she got used to the route we would be taking almost every day for the foreseeable future. It didn't take long until we were pulling into the school's parking lot, the rumbling of the truck drawing the attention of a few others as we pulled up, Bella parking in front of what proclaimed itself the admin building.

"Are we allowed to park here?" I asked, not really that bothered as I undid my seatbelt to exit the truck.

Bella slammed her door closed, pulling her backpack higher on her shoulder as she joined me to walk into the building "Probably not, but I'll move to the student parking after we've got our schedules."

I let out a hum as we moved to stand in front of the first desk we saw, a little plaque saying it belonged to a 'Ms. Cope', the woman behind it turning away from her computer to look up at us in question "Can I help you?"

"I'm Isabella Swan."

"Vanessa Swan." I gave a little wave.

"We're starting here today?" Bella told her, though it came out sounding like a question.

"Of course," Ms. Cope's eyes lit up, her hands immediately moving to grab two small stacks of papers out of one of the trays on her desk "I have your schedules right here, and you each get a map of the school."

*she goes through classes and gives a slip for teachers to sign then says she hopes will like it in forks*

"Would you like me to go through your classes with you?"

"No thanks," I answered as Bella shook her head "I'm sure we can figure it out, thank you though."

"Not a problem ladies. Here are the slips that your teachers will have to sign, with it being your first day," She handed us each a slip "just hand them before you leave at the end of the day. I hope you both like it her in Forks." She finished, the smile she had widening as she waved us off.

We left, hopping back into the truck, the engine startling a few students as it woke up, Bella looking mortified at the stares as we moved over to the student parking which had filled up in the short time we had spent in the office.

"Let's compare schedules." I prompted, handing her hers once she'd turned the engine off, hoping to give her a bit of time to wind down before we had to join the masses. "I've got English with Mr. Mason first period."

She peered down at hers before looking up at me with a hopeful smile "Me too. I've got Government with Mr. Jefferson next."

I shook my head "I've got Art, then I've got World History."

"I have Trig." Bella's face had truly fallen at this point, her dread at having to take on two classes so far without anyone she knows apparent.

"What have you got for fourth?" I prodded "I have Math, then lunch."

"I have Spanish then lunch." She told me, face blank as she stared at her schedule.

"Look on the bright side Bells," She squinted up at me in question "we'll always have lunch together."

She let out a quiet whine before looking back at her paper "I've got Biology 2 the period before last."

"I-" I blinked down at my paper in surprise, because I was sure that was a class I'd specifically requested, knowing what would likely happen and wanting her to at least have me there for support "I don't. I've got Biochem." Why am I not with Bella..? "Then I've got gym last with Coach Clapp."

Bella perked up at that "We share that one!" Her shoulders slumped "But it's gym."

"At least I'll be there to make sure you don't get passed to in the group sports." I told her pushing the passenger door open to finally exit the cab.

"Much appreciated." Bella said. I walked over to join her, linking our arms after she locked up, as we took our steps into what would be our school until we graduated.

We made our way through the hallways, following the school map we'd been given to find our first class, some of the other kids openly staring at us as we passed, a few brave ones even saying "Hi." Which I returned with a friendly wave, Bella doing her best to smile back before inevitably hiding her face behind her hair as she pretended to be engrossed in the map.

We got to the room, the door propped open, a few students already chatting inside despite the fact class wouldn't start for another few minutes. I pointed over at the Teacher who was shuffling through some papers on his desk "Let's go get our slips signed before more people arrive."

She nodded in agreement before gesturing for me to go first, which I did, making my way over to his desk, ignoring how the other kids looked up as we entered, "Mr Mason?"

The teacher looked up briefly then back down at his papers before his head snapped up, looking us both over properly, probably realising that we were in fact the police chief's rumoured returnee children. He cleared his throat, seeming a bit bashful once he noticed he'd been staring "Vanessa and Isabella Swan, I assume?"

I nodded in agreement as Bella corrected "Just Bella for me."

"We were told to get our slips signed." I prompted, holding out mine, which jolted Bella into offering hers, Mr Mason taking them both without fuss, quickly signing before handing them back.

He leaned over his desk, moving around a few papers before letting out a small sound of triumph, leaning back in his chair as he handed us each a small collection of papers that were stapled together.

"Here are your syllabus outlines and reading lists. Everything you need to know about the course should be in there, though if you have any questions you are of course free to ask." He told us with a crooked smile "There are two free seats at the back of the room that you can take, I'm trusting you both to not be disruptive if you're put together."

"No sir." I told him with a smile, Bella quickly but quietly agreeing before reaching to pull me along to our newly assigned seats once dismissed.

We still had a few minutes left until class started, the both of us straight up ignoring the stares we received as the room began to fill up as we looked over the papers Mr Mason had given us. I nudged Bella with my elbow as I looked over the reading list, leaning in to say "Told you it was a good idea to bring our old essays with us."

She let out a hum in response, lips twitching up into a smile as she tapped a place on the sheet "We're starting with Wuthering Heights."

"Good for you…mind-numbing for me."

"I still don't understand why you don't like it, it's my favourite book." She huffed.

I patted her on the arm "You'll understand when you're older."

She gave me a light shove, starting what was bound to be a play fight, only for us to settle back into our seats as the bell rang, signalling the start of class. I pulled out a pen, clicking it to begin making notes as Mr Mason began to speak, Bella meeting my eyes as I peeked over at her mouthing "To be continued."

With that, we focused until the end of the class, Bella sighing as we began to pack up, knowing we wouldn't be seeing each other again until lunch. The silence between us was broken as one of the braver souls in class made his way over to us.

"You're Isabella and Vanessa Swan, aren't you?" He asked, trying to look casual as he leaned against our desk.

"Bella." My sister corrected for what I knew wouldn't be the last time.

"Who's asking?"

"I'm Eric." Thought so. He perked up at my question, lifting a hand in a small wave as he walked with us out of the room "Hi, I'm the eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need. Tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on."

Bella shot me a look of disbelief before answering "I'm kind of the suffer in silence type."

Eric obviously hadn't saw, continuing cheerily "Good headline for your feature I'm on the paper, and you're both big news, baby, front page."

"I don't like being called baby." I told him bluntly as Bella stuttered out her refusal.

"I- no, I'm not news- I'm, seriously, not at all."

"Whoa, chillax. No feature." He held up his hands, waving a bit as if to calm her down before peeking over at me "…and no nicknames?"

"Not for me."

"Noted. Where's your next class?"

"Um," Bella pulled out her schedule "I have government with Jefferson in building six."

I'd already checked mine before leaving English "I've got Art with Taylor in building four."

"Your class is next to mine," Eric told me with a grin "I've got photography, building six is nearby so I can show you both the way if you'd like." He offered.

Bella and I spoke together "Thanks."

"Oooh the twin thing!" He wiggled his fingers at us with a laugh "You've missed a lot of the semester, but I can hook you up - tutor, cliff notes, medical excuse."

"We'll keep that in mind." I answered for us, unexpectedly finding Eric to be funny.

"So, this is a lot different than Phoenix, huh?" He asked, when the silence went on for too long.

"Very." Was Bella's detailed response.

Eric tried to keep the conversation going "It doesn't rain much there, does it?"

"Three or four times a year."

"Wow," He actually seemed a bit taken aback at Bella's answer "what must that be like?"

"Sunny." Bella answered at the same time I said "Dry."

He looked between the two of us "You don't look very tan."

"Our mother is part albino." Bella joked, though it took a moment for him to clock on, Bella's smile having already dropped by the time he let out a chuckle, the rest of our walk remaining silent until we arrived outside of Bella's class.

"Well, good luck, maybe we'll have some other classes together." Was Eric's farewell, Bella shooting him a tight smile as she rushed inside the room, shooting me a wave as she left.

He turned to me gesturing down the hall dramatically "Shall we?"

"We shall." I announced pompously, beginning to walk off as he laughed, jogging a little to catch up.

"Soooo, art?" He asked "Did you choose it or get put in whatever class had room?"

I looked over at him with a smile "I chose it. Though I prefer using pencils over paint. What about you, why photography?"

"Gotta be honest, it's mostly for the school newspaper, though my friend Angela's our main photographer," He gave a small shrug "I thought it'd be good if she had someone who could help out every now and then."

I wasn't expecting that... "That's actually really sweet, good on you Eric."

He ducked his head a bit bashful at my open praise, walking ahead of me with a bit of a skip to his step before gesturing grandly to a door "Your class, maybe we'll have more together, or I'll see you at lunch?"

"Maybe." I shot him a wave as I ducked inside "See you later Eric."

Inside it appeared most of my classmates had already arrived, a flash of unnatural paleness that I studiously ignored, telling me that I shared this class with at least one of the Cullens. A few peered up from their conversations to look at me in curiosity as I made my way past the art-stained desks that were strewn haphazardly throughout the room and over to who I assumed was our teacher.

"Ms Taylor?"

She turned away from digging through her bag, peering at me curiously through red rimmed glasses, dark hair falling out of the messy bun on her head as she adjusted them "Yes?"

"I'm Vanessa Swan," Her eyes lit up in comprehension at my introduction, automatically taking my slip when I offered it to her "I'll be in your class starting today, I need you to sign my slip."

"Oh, of course," She fumbled around on her desk for a moment, knocking a few pens over as she pulled one out, signing my slip with a flourish before handing it back, then beginning to shuffle through some papers on her desk "Er, I swear I've got a copy of the syllabus I made for you here somewhere…" It didn't seem like she was having any luck, switching from one stack of papers to another as I waited awkwardly by her desk until the bell finally rang.

She paused in her search, looking around the room first then back to me "Why don't you take a seat, there's one free over there next to Lauren," She pointed at the space next to a girl with white blonde hair who it looked like was currently using chalk pastels "you can ask her to get you caught up on what we're doing in class, while I try to find your copy of the syllabus."

Oookaaayyyy… I made my way over to the desk, pulling the chair out as I took my bag off causing the blonde girl to look up at me with a scowl, pulling out an earbud she had been hiding behind her hair to ask "What do you want?"

"Oh, I'm sorry Regina George." I sat down noisily in my seat, placing my bag down heavily on top of the desk as I began to unpack my art supplies "I've been told this is my seat from now on."

She slowly pulled out her other earbud, letting out a sound of amused disbelief "Did you really just reference mean girls at me?"

"I really did." She let out another huff as I flipped open my sketchbook to a blank page. "Also, if you would be so kind, Ms Taylor told me to ask you what we're supposed to be doing, Lauren, right?

"Of course she did." She didn't seem surprised in the least that the teacher had pretty much passed the task onto her, answering "Yeah, Lauren Mallory, and considering I've never seen you before I'm guessing you're one of the Swan girls?"

"Yup, I'm Vanessa, I'm the more talkative one."

"Lucky me." She commented with a roll of her eyes, but still shuffled her chair closer to mine, holding up what she had been working on a little so I could see it "We're doing portraits at the moment, any media you like, most of us are working from photos but a few have partnered up to draw each other."

"I see," I muttered looking over the partially completed portrait she had done of herself in cool tones, she was quite talented from what I saw. I looked back at her with a smirk "Can I draw you too?" Her proportions were actually really nice, my hand was practically already twitching for my pencils.

She sniffed "Only if you're any good." She gestured to my sketchbook, picking it up to flip through at my nod "Okay, you can draw me." She announced, dropping the pad back on the table in front of me.

"Thank you, your grace."

She gave me a mock royal wave, rolling her eyes, though she couldn't hide the smile that had made its way onto her face as she decided to continue the conversation, twirling a piece of chalk between her fingers "Do you only work with pencils?"

"Nah, I work with whatever I think fits the piece the best, though I work mostly with pencils because of their mobility." I answered with a smile as I once again flipped my pad open to a fresh page, peering over at her as I began making the outline for her side profile.

"I can understand that." She agreed "It's a lot easier to whip out a pencil and paper if you're hit with inspiration suddenly."

"Exactly my reasoning." I peered at her drawing again "Why'd you choose chalk pastels?"

"I wanted to work on my blending, I used oils on my last piece so wanted to see which I preferred."

I hummed, considering "Well, they each have their pros and cons. I find oils really messy, I like the aesthetic for chalks better but I dislike them purely for the sheer amount of dust."

"I know right?" She groaned "It gets everywhere."

I let out another hum, moving to continue my sketch, peering over at her for reference every now and then. I paused upon spotting her take out her iPod, casually scrolling through her playlist in full view as she put her earphone back in.

"Don't you get told off for listening to music in class?"

"Pssh no," She waved her hand, "Taylor doesn't care as long as we get our work done." She paused for a moment before offering me an earbud "Do you want to listen?"

I took it, shuffling my seat closer as I put it in my ear so we could both listen without pulling them out "What are we listening to?"

"Hmm," She continued to scroll "I'm currently torn between Britney Spears or Avril Lavigne."

"Avril Lavigne." I told her straight away "Love them both, but Avril puts me in more of an arty mood."

"Fair enough." She said, placing the device back in her pocket as the first notes of 'Losing grip' began to play.

With that done we settled in for the rest of the class, continuing to work on our portraits, the only disturbance being when Ms Taylor finally walked over to our desk, dropping off my copy of the syllabus beside my pencil case with a quiet "There you go." Smiling as she looked over our work before giving a small wave as she made her way back over to her desk.

We continued to work along to the soundtrack of 'Let go' until the bell rang. I passed back my earbud as we began packing up, careful to avoid smudging what we'd been working on all lesson, before making our way out of the room together.

"Hey, give me your schedule." She plucked it out of my hand once I dug it out, a brow raising as she read it over "Huh, lucky you, the only class we don't have together is English first period."

"I think you mean that you're the lucky one." I told her taking the paper back, shoving it into my bag "You get to spend pretty much all day with me."

"Yeah yeah, whatever. I suppose I could show you to your classes then." She sighed as if doing so put her out.

"Oh, how kind of you." I agreed dramatically, testing the waters as I linked my arm through hers.

She allowed it, linking our arms properly with a light squeeze as she said "I know." The both of us laughing as we chatted, making our way to our next lesson.

The next two classes flew by, Lauren somehow convincing the teachers to let me sit next to her as I was new and it'd help me 'adjust better to my new school.' I was also introduced to Angela, who was indeed an absolute sweetheart, funnily the complete opposite to Lauren, and who shared a table with both of us in Math class just before we broke for lunch, the three of us leaving together to make our way to the lunch hall.

"I brought lunch from home today so I'll go wait at our table." Angela told us with a smile and a wave as she left us in the lunch que, Lauren passing me a tray as she got hers.

"Word of advice," She told me leaning in "avoid the tacos whenever they're on."

"Will do. What's the pizza like?"

She shrugged "Not too bad, for school pizza that is."

"I think I'll risk it." I decided eyeballing the burgers that looked suspiciously grey, before asking the lunch lady for some fries to go with it, grabbing a muffin and packet of chips before picking up a bottle of coke from the fridge, making my way over to the till to pay.

Lauren finished up just after me with a healthier pasta and salad, nudging me with her elbow to follow her across the cafeteria to the table where Angela was waiting, shooting us a wave as we sat down, silent as she was finishing a bite of her sandwich.

I wiggled my fingers back at her, about to dig into my pizza but was interrupted as Lauren tapped my shoulder, gesturing back over to the line "Is that your sister?"

I peered back over spotting Bella with a shorter brunette, nodding in answer I asked "Who's that with her?"

"Oh, that's Jess." She stated boredly, turning back to her plate to spear forkful of salad "She's alright, she's going to be in next period with us."

I hummed turning to Angela to ask "Have you had Bella in any of your classes?"

She shook her head, putting her sandwich down to cover her mouth with a hand as she spoke "Not yet, but we've only got two classes left."

"What are you all talking about?" Was Jessica's greeting, her pulling out the seat next to Angela as Bella fell into the spare seat next to me. She perked up upon meeting my eyes "Hi! You must be Vanessa, I'm Jessica."

"So I've been told." Bella gave me a light kick under the table, probably scolding me for being 'impolite' so I added with a smile "Lauren told me when I spotted you in the que together."

She seemed a bit shocked at that "Lauren did?" She looked over at her for confirmation, receiving a nod.

"Yeah, didn't you know? Me and Lauren are like, best friends." I said, earning a snort from said blonde.

Jessica seemed even more confused, Lauren deciding to take pity on her, taking a sip of her drink before speaking up "We have every class together except first period."

"And she wouldn't have it any other way." I lifted my drink in a mock toast, catching Angela hiding a smile as the blonde let out a loud sigh.

Bella peered around me, looking at Lauren as she said "I'm so sorry."

Causing Lauren to snort as Angela laughed, Jessica obviously forcing herself to join in as I gave Bella a light shove "Oh so you're a comedian now." She shrugged, a smile tugging up her lips as she scooped some pasta into her mouth "I'll have you know I'm a delight to be around."

My words were met with amused hums as Eric appeared, the boy crouching down to sling an arm over both Bella and I as a blonde, jock looking boy took the seat next to Jessica, the girl looking quite happy with this turn of events. "Mike, meet my homegirls Bella and Vanessa."

"Your homegirls?" Mike questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"That's right." Eric moved, pulling up a chair to take a seat at the end of the table between Bella and Mike before his head perked up calling across the table to Angela "Angie! No feature on the twins, it's cancelled."

"I know," She told him with a sigh "Vanessa told me last period. Guess we'll just run another editorial on teen drinking."

"Sorry. There's always eating disorders," Bella suggested trying to be helpful "or Speedo padding on the swim team."

Angela perked up "Wait, that's a good one."

"We're talking Olympic size." Jessica leaned in directing her words to me and Bella, before looking to Lauren as she began nodding, apparently knowing exactly who she was talking about "He's so skinny it just doesn't make sense."

"Who are they?" Our attention was brought back to Bella at her question. I followed her gaze only to roll my eyes, turning back to my lunch once I saw it was just her being spellbound over the Cullens.

"That's Edward and Emmett Cullen, and Rosalie and Jasper Hale. The one who just left was Alice Cullen." Jessica answered, seeming to relish the chance to gossip "Rosalie and Jasper are seniors, the rest are in our year."

"They kinda keep to themselves." Angela added.

"They are…very nice-looking."

"Yes!" Jessica agreed enthusiastically with Bella's statement.

Lauren nudged me, leaning in to whisper "You don't look very impressed."

"Meh, they're pretty." I shrugged, whispering back "If that's all they've got to offer I'm not interested."

Our attention went back to Jessica as she continued "They're all together though, Emmett and Rosalie, and Jasper and Alice I mean, and they live together. I'm not even sure that's legal."

"Doesn't that leave one spare?" I commented sarcastically, popping a fry in my mouth as I was ignored. I looked longingly over at where the boys had abandoned our table to go mess around at another as soon as the topic of the Cullens had been brought up.

"They don't look related…" Bella trailed off, obviously confused.

"Oh, they're not." Jessica told her, waving a hand as if she should have known already "Dr Cullen is really young, in his twenties or early thirties. They're all adopted, though the Hales are brother and sister, twins – the blondes. Dr Cullen's like this foster dad slash match maker."

"Maybe he'll adopt me." Angela said putting on a faux dreamy look.

"That's really kind of nice though - to take care of all of those kids like that, being so young and everything." Bella said.

"I agree." I told her, which earned me a smile.

"I guess so." Jessica said, not seeing convinced as she unscrewed the cap off her bottle to take a drink.

Bella continued to stare over at their table "Have they always lived in forks?"

"No, they moved down here two years ago from somewhere in Alaska."

"Which one is the boy with the reddish-brown hair?"

"That's Edward." Jessica answered, peering back over at the table "He's gorgeous of course but he doesn't date. Apparently none of the girls here are good-looking enough for him. Like I care. Anyway, don't waste your time."

"I wasn't planning on it." Bella denied, finally moving her gaze away from their table.

"Can we move on from this boring conversation now?" Lauren requested bluntly.

I shot her a thankful look as the topic quickly changed, Jessica spouting off different topics and rumours that were going around the school like a machine, Bella quieting down as she lost interest, instead choosing to focus on eating her lunch.

We continued this way until the bell rang, Bella leaving together with Angela as it turned out they had next period together, Jessica joining Lauren and I as we branched off to make our way over to Biochem.

That lesson turned out to be the worst of the day as I was stuck with a teacher that insisted on sticking to his assigned seating plan, meaning I ended up being sat at the only spare table by myself as he taught us the days lesson via a power point presentation.

It was a relief as the bell finally rang, the three of us also having gym together, heading over there as soon as we packed our stuff up, the girls waving at me as they ducked into the locker room when I was called aside by who I assume was Coach Clapp.

I jogged over to stand in front of where he stood by the bleachers, him looking down at his clipboard before back at me "Miss Swan…are you Vanessa or Isabella?"

"Vanessa, Coach. Bella should be here soon."

He nodded at my answer, holding his hand out expectantly to which I handed him my slip which he signed, handing it back to me before leaning over to the bleachers to pick up a packaged uniform, handing that to me as well. "These are your gym clothes, I won't make you change as it's your first day. Instead you can sit on the side and watch, get an idea of how your classmates play, okay?"

I nodded "Good. Go sit out of the way on the bleachers, I'll send your sister to sit with you once she arrives."

I did as he said, not having to wait long until Bella dropped herself into the seat next to me, clasping her own uniform in her lap, looking obviously distressed, well to my eyes at least.

"What's wrong?" I asked looking her over in alarm "Do you feel sick? Were you bullied? Do you need me to beat someone up? Because I wil-"

"Stooop." She groaned, batting me away, though I did manage to get a small laugh out of her.

I looked at her expectantly until she gave in with a sigh, asking "Do I smell bad?"

I blinked at her confused for a moment before the realisation for what had occurred last period finally hit me, my body untensing as I remembered, answering her honestly "No, why?"

"Just," She shrugged, trying to make out that it didn't bother her that much "the boy I had to sit next to in class acted like I was repulsive."

"Screw him." Was my immediate response "That's 100% his problem, not yours, Bella. You have nothing to worry about, it's just an immature brat acting out. I'm guessing he had a desk to himself until you came along?"

She nodded hesitantly "See? He's probably one of those kids who's used to getting their own way."

Of course I knew in actuality Edward was trying his best not to kill her, but I obviously wasn't going to tell her that.

"Thanks, Vanessa." She told me, mood lightened, though not back to normal just yet.

"It's what I'm here for." I told her with a smile. "Now tell me how your other lessons went!"

With that we spent the rest of the period relaying how we spent our first day at school to each other, Bella unfortunately not having a friend who shared the majority of her classes like I did, but did at least have people to talk to at a push in all of them.

As the bell rang I shot a wave to Lauren as she headed to get changed, her waving back in return before Bella and I said our goodbyes to Coach, heading over to reception to hand in our signed slips.

Bella pushed the door open to enter first but almost caused me to collide with her when I attempted to follow as she tried to retreat. I peered around her to see what had caused her flight instinct to activate, catching sight of Edward Cullen trying to charm Ms Cope into changing his schedule.

"There must be something open, Physics? Biochem?"

She shook her head, seeming genuinely sorry she couldn't help "No, every class is full. I'm afraid you'll have to stay in biology. I'm so sorry." It was at this point she caught sight of us, holding up a finger as if to say she'd be with us in a moment.

Bella blanching as Edward tensed up, the boy turning slowly, his eyes darkening with what looked like pure hatred as he spotted Bella. I slowly moved myself in front of her, hoping blocking her from sight would help them both in some small way, while hoping that he both couldn't hear my thoughts and that I wasn't also his singer.

Judging by the look of confused frustration that took over his face as he saw me, it thankfully appeared that he couldn't, and that I wasn't making his bloodlust any worse, the boy quickly shaking his head as he turned back to Cope, commenting tightly "Never mind then, I can see it's impossible. I'll just... endure it. Thank you so much for your help." Before quickly making his exit, Bella flinching as he strode past us.

I grabbed Bella's hand, pulling her along with me to approach the desk as Ms Cope asked "How did your first day go girls?"

"Fine." Was Bella's answer, as she passed her slip over.

I passed mine over with a smile "We made a few friends already."

"That's great!" She sounded genuinely happy for us as she checked over our slips "You have a safe ride home now."

Bella nodded jerkily, grabbing my hand to pull me out of the door and across the parking lot to the truck, moving around to the drivers side as I hopped in. She slammed the door muttering "Jerk."

"…Do you want me to let you stew in your rage a little longer?"

She gave me a sharp nod, turning the key harshly in the ignition, the truck roaring to life causing one of the unsuspecting students passing by to stumble in shock as we pulled away.

Lauren: *Giving off bad bitch energy*

Vanessa: *Sends bad bitch energy back* Friend?

Lauren: *Nods seriously* Friend.

Did you know that by the time I started writing this chapter, chapter 3 was already at over three thousand words? Ahaha in other words – Carlisle is in the next chapter! It's also probably going to be longer than this one 😊
