Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, I only own Violet Hawke as my OC.

Summary: Violet Hawke wanted nothing more than to be a Bug Pokemon Trainer, but with how people viewed those types all she got was ridicule until the day she bumped into the local Professor. Now on a journey, she tries to make her goal a reality, but with an Organization coming out of the shadows she has to decide just how much she's willing to risk to realize her goal.

Chapter 22: Back on the Road

Violet hummed as she got ready to leave home once again.

Her team were already in their Pokeballs, all rested up and eager to get on the road.

Her bag was filled to the brim with medical supplies, extra clothes, food and a newly bought survival kit.

She had no desire to end up in another situation like Seafoam, so she made sure to be prepared for whatever could come her way this time.

Pulling the jacket on, Violet checked her image before putting on her straw hat.

Once that was done, she was ready.

And she had plans for today.

First, teleport to Pewter to see how Brock was doing, then teleport to Cerulean to get herself a bike, then do the same thing with Misty and visit Bill.

Checking herself in the mirror once more, Violet thought back to when she first left home for the first time after getting her license.

Back when she was nervous and thought Prof. Oak was making a mistake.

Now however, none of that was showing.

Instead she was confident.

Both in her team and her skills as a trainer despite the short time.

Amazing how much a person can change in a month.

So she smiled and left her room, making it downstairs where she once more stood in front of the shrine to her Mom.

A shrine that felt empty without the hat.

"Hey Mom, it's been awhile." Violet said, smiling at the picture. "So much has happened since we last spoke, I don't know where to begin."

How could she summarize her journey?

"Oh I met Will, he told me a lot about how you were," Violet's smile got bigger as she remembered the conversation with the magician. "I have to remember to visit Ecruteak City at some point."

Especially since she had family living there if what Will revealed was any indication.

Just the thought of meeting them, made her excited.

But that excitement fell when Violet remembered other things about her journey.

How would her Mom feel about Violet's run-ins with Team Rocket?

What kind of question was that? She would be horrified.

"A part of me actually thought about staying home." Violet revealed, looking a bit defeated. "After so many close calls, it was nice to not have to worry about Team Rocket wanting to kill me."

She wanted to keep it that way.

"But I can't just hide forever, and I owe it to my Pokemon to get stronger."

Violet clenched a fist, feeling her nails digging into her palm.

Even if she wished they would leave her alone, Violet knew deep down that she was in too deep with this situation for them to even consider it.

Especially given how Surge himself tried to kill her.

Who knows, the man might try again, so staying home would do nothing but paint a target on her back.

What's more, if she did just stay here, then everything her team worked for along with all of their accomplishments would be for nothing.

And she refused to let that happen.

Slowly, Violet took a deep breath.

No use in getting worked up about this.

Instead she gave the shrine one last look before turning to leave, with every intention of coming back someday.

Teleporting was… Unique.

That was what Violet thought about it, given how she stumbled, a bit nauseous while Silk looked tired.

No matter how many times they practiced teleporting in the last week, Violet didn't think she would ever get used to the sensation.

Shaking her head, Violet looked around to see that they were on the edge of Viridian Forest, out near Pewter City.

It wasn't in the city itself, but close enough.

"Thanks Silk, that was a good job for such a long distance."

After all, compared to Pallet Town, this was three times the distance from Viridian.

Though that's because of how the forest was a natural maze, so it takes much longer due to that.

Violet returned Silk to let her rest and approached Pewter with a smile.

Soon enough, she was walking the streets of the city.

It didn't look like it changed that much, the same could be said for Viridian really, but Violet felt that was to be expected given how long it's really been.

She recognized the cafe where Green first challenged her, the Museum where she met Kanna, though it looked like it was demolished which was a given due to what she saw on the News.

Good thing she visited when she was in Pewter last time.

The Pokemon Center and the Pokemart were still the same and she could see the Gym from here.

There was no line, so she walked in only to see Brock waiting for any challengers.

The Gym Leader paused however at seeing Violet, taking a moment to recognize her.

Once he did, Brock gave a friendly smile and nodded in her direction. "Violet, it's been awhile."

Violet agreed, remembering the last time she saw Brock was after he saved her in Mt. Moon.

"Any strong challengers?" Violet asked to start off the conversation.

"A few, most of them are rookies but I do get some trainers who have four or six badges," Brock admitted, idly wishing that he gets stronger ones more often. "Though it's been dull today."

So he raised a brow in her direction.

"Are you here for a rematch?"

A part of him was hoping she was because he was eager to see how much she improved over the month.

"One on one?" Violet suggested, looking a bit eager herself. "Silk is still resting from using Teleport, so I won't use her."

It took Brock a moment to remember which one was Silk before he gave a nod.

So her Butterfree knows Teleport?

That's certainly a useful move.

And an annoying one given how none of his rock Pokemon can learn it.

But he stood up and walked over to where he keeps his different Pokemon teams.

He already had a certain Pokemon he was willing to use, one that was still being trained but strong enough to give her a challenge.

Grabbing it, he gestured for Violet to go to the field.

Violet found herself feeling a sense of deja-vu by standing on this field, memories of her first Gym Battle going through her head.

The memory made her smile before she sent out Parasite.

Seeing that, Brock smirked before sending his Pokemon out.

It was a Pokemon on all four with grey rocky plate-like armor and piercing red eyes on its triangle shaped head, a single horn protruding from its nose.

Recognizing the Pokemon as a Rhyhorn, Violet scanned it with the Pokedex.

'Rhyhorn, the Spikes Pokemon. Its massive bones are 1000 times harder than human bones. It can easily knock a trailer flying. However once they start charging, they forget the reason they start in the first place showing a one track mind. Current Level is 38. Gender: Male.'

Despite what the Pokedex said however, this Rhyhorn seemed pretty sharp showing that it was close to evolving.

The stronger a Rhyhorn got the smarter they became given how their memories improve as a Rhydon.

Still this should be a cakewalk for Parasite because as strong as Rhyhorns are physically they were very slow and weak against special attacks.

And even if Dig won't do that much damage as a physical attack, it was still a good move along with how she can slow the Rhyhorn down even more with Stun Spore.

Still, she can't get cocky, Violet knew by now that this Rhyhorn could have a move that can turn the tide.

Brock wouldn't have sent it out if it didn't.

"Take Down!" Brock ordered immediately with the Rhyhorn rushing at Parasite who calmly jumped out of the way, showing that even if she was rather slow herself, she was still faster.

The Rhyhorn actually managed to slide to a stop, turning as it did so before pawing at the ground, ready to charge again.

Instead however, Brock began to change up his tactics and ordered a Rock Slide with the Rhyhorn slamming its upper legs into the ground, causing the rocks on the field to break apart and shoot out towards Parasite who quickly dug into the ground.

Violet looked around the field, trying to find a good advantage.

Solarbeam was their best bet here, but there was no sunlight in the Gym so it would take far too long to charge, especially with Parasite's inexperience in using the move.

Brock surprised her by ordering an Earthquake with Rhyhorn rearing up before slamming its front feet on the ground, causing a massive tremor, cracking the whole battlefield as rocks began to shoot up from the ground.

Earthquake was one of the strongest moves out there, almost mimicking an actual Earthquake, the exception was that when it's used by a Pokemon it's only in a certain radius.

Such as a battlefield.

If it's used on a Pokemon that's underground however its power is doubled.

Something that was shown as Parasite slowly crawled out badly injured but still capable of fighting.

Violet kicked herself for not expecting an Earthquake because Brock would definitely have a move that would counter one of the weaknesses.

And that takes out the usage of Quicksand and Whack-A-Mole, leaving Parasite to be limited even more.

Brock then ordered a Fire Blast that Parasite quickly dove to the side to dodge.

Quickly focusing, Violet called out for Leech Life, needing Parasite to get his health back up, but that was a ruse given how she just needed to get close.

Something that Brock didn't realize as he ordered a Horn Drill.

Once the Rhyhorn was close enough with its horn spinning, Violet ordered her true plan of attack.

"Stun Spore!"

Parasite easily leapt out of the way, its mushroom shaking to unleash its spore right as the Rhyhorn passed, making his limbs lock up before she jumped and latched onto its back with Leech Life, taking advantage of its paralyzed state to regain some energy.

Rhyhorn didn't seem to notice his energy being sapped, but he did notice the weight.

So he ran around, trying to throw the mushroom Pokemon off.

Satisfied with the amount she got, Parasite jumped off with Violet now ordering SolarBeam, more confident due to the Rhyhorn being paralyzed.

Brock actually looked surprised by that order as the mushroom on Parasite began to glow.

It was clear that he wasn't expecting that move.

Ryhorn was rather slow in turning around because of his condition, giving Parasite enough time to gather enough energy and fire the beam right at the Pokemon.

Knowing he couldn't dodge, Brock ordered Fire Blast.

Thankfully, Rhyhorn managed to break free of the Paralysis and blasted the beam right before it could hit him, the Fire Blast obliterating the SolarBeam, hitting Parasite who was too exhausted to dodge.

Parasite flew back, skidding across the floor before collapsing, unconscious.

Brock let out a sigh of relief, knowing it was only luck they won that.

If that SolarBeam hit, the results would be very different.

Not only that, but Fire Blast only tore through it because of the difference in experience.

When he first caught this Rhyhorn, it was to train up for his team that would test trainers with four badges, so he taught it moves to take care of weaknesses such as Thunderbolt for Water Types and Fire Blast for Grass Types.

He then had the Rhyhorn practice them vigorously.

From what he can tell, Violet's Parasect only recently learned the move SolarBeam so it wasn't as strong as it should be.

If it had a bit more experience in using it, it would've tore through the Fire Blast instead given how it wasn't a fire type using it.

Violet didn't seem too upset by the loss as she returned Parasite.

Instead, she went over the entire battle in her head, noting how different it was from the past Gym Battles.

Rhyhorn had a counter for everything she did.

If she used Stinger or Silk she probably would've won because they weren't affected by Earthquake and they were both much faster than Parasite so they could easily out speed the Rhyhorn.

More than that, they had better moves that could've worked better than SolarBeam.

Such as Stinger using either Poison Sting or Twineedle to poison the Rhyhorn or Silk using either Confusion or Psybeam to take advantage of how it's lackluster special attribute.

Once more Blaine's advice about her team's flaws went through her head.

Along with his warning of how things only got tougher from here on out.

If this battle was any indication, then that meant that the next four gym battles would be similar and they would get tougher with each badge.

So she needed to round out her team even more and work on their flaws.

"You did an amazing job, Parasite." Violet said to the Pokeball with a smile, watching as Brock returned his Rhyhorn. "Man that Rhyhorn is going to be a terror when he evolves."

Brock let out a chuckle when he heard that. "He definitely will."

Especially when he can get around to teaching him Mega Punch, Seismic Toss and Submission.

"That aside your Parasect is powerful, you've had Rhyhorn on guard quite a bit out there." Brock noted with Violet glowing with pride at hearing that.

"Thank you, still need to work on her range and variety."

Hopefully she can find the TM's for Mega Drain and Double Team at the Celadon Department Store.

Those two would be a must have for the Mushroom Pokemon.

Perhaps Swords Dance for Stinger to boost his attack?

"So how has your journey been?" Brock asked curiously.

Violet went quiet, her mind flashing towards the run-ins with Team Rocket and then Articuno.

She had no idea if Brock even knew about that or if he knew about Surge being in Team Rocket given how the public didn't know.

It was something Professor Oak had to explain to her before she continued on her journey.

So after thinking it over, she answered. "It's been… Eventful." She chose her words carefully. "I've seen quite a few amazing places and I'll be heading for Rock Tunnel soon."

Once that was done, she planned to add a Venonat to her team by heading south of Lavender Town before she attempted to head towards Celadon to get her a Pinsir.

Brock gave a nod at hearing that. "Be sure to take a few batteries for a flashlight and some glow sticks," He advised her. "Rock Tunnel is more of a maze then Mt. Moon, especially with it being a breeding ground for Onix."

Thankfully it was only young Onix that remained there while the older, more powerful ones usually stayed in either Cerulean Cave or Victory Road.

Violet however felt rather nervous at hearing that Rock Tunnel was full of those Pokemon.

She could remember vividly seeing Brock's Onix for the first time and how powerful it was.

After saying good-bye to Brock, Violet smiled as she walked through Pewter after healing up her team, just taking in her surroundings.

Sadly she couldn't go into the Museum considering how they were still rebuilding after the incident where Team Rocket tried to steal the fossils there only for Lance to intervene.

It's too bad, they were supposed to have a new exhibit by this point.

And she didn't feel like heading for the Cafe again.

Instead, Violet found herself at a river where an abandoned building with a water wheel was and sat near the edge of the water, looking up at the sky where the clouds passed overhead.

She's only been in Pewter City for three hours and she had no clue how close to Cerulean that Silk would teleport her to.

Chances are it would still take awhile considering how often they would have to rest in between teleports.

'I wonder how far Green is.' Violet couldn't help but think of her rival.

She had no idea how to feel about him.

A part of her still didn't like him because of their first meeting and how he demeaned her at Nugget Bridge.

That was something that would always remain in her head.

But then he ended up helping her through so much ever since they battled on the SS. Anne.

If it wasn't for Green, she would be dead.

Either from Surge taking advantage of her fear of Grimers or from drowning after being electrocuted.

So were they still rivals?

Were they friends?

Violet had no clue how to describe what they were.

But it didn't change the fact that she wanted to beat him with a full bug team and he knew that.

It took a day for Violet to get to Cerulean with Teleport, having to use it at least three different times to even get to Mt. Moon.

And it took even more to get through the cave, especially because Violet had to figure out where in the cave they teleported into.

Thankfully, nothing bad happened this time and Teleport did save them a lot of time considering how long it took to get through there on foot.

Violet even found a small Moon Stone in the process that she took as a souvenir.

With Silk resting once more, Violet already knew where she was heading first.

The Bike Shop.

Having a Bike would definitely cut down travel time to places that Silk couldn't teleport to as of yet.

At least it wasn't that hard to find, she just had to look for a place where bikes were seen on the outside along with a huge sign showing a bike on it.

So she entered, looking around as she saw quite a few people looking through the different bikes.

Some of them were normal everyday bikes that were for exercise while others were used for traveling over different terrain.

They even came in different colors which Violet found rather nice.

"Welcome," The owner of the Bike Shop greeted Violet with a smile. "Are you here to buy a Bike?"

"Actually, I came to use this." Violet pulled out the voucher, giving it to the man who blinked in surprise.

"Where did you get this?" He asked, knowing that they haven't had anyone win a voucher in a long time.

"The Vermillion Pokemon Fan Club."

Raising a brow, the man checked to see if it was legit before giving a nod.

"Alright, what type of bike are you looking for? Do you have a preference?" The man asked, seeing Violet cross her arms in thought.

"One that can be used to get through caves." She said after a bit.

Moments later, she was leaving with a red bike along with a booklet on how to maintain the bike, including replacing the tires should they pop and how often to clean the chain.

She'll read through it that night, for now she has two people to visit.

So she got on the bike and began to peddle through the streets of Cerulean, finding it a bit shaky with keeping her balance.

Nothing a bit of practice won't cure though.

Sadly the Gym was closed for the day with a note saying she would be gone for a week, so Violet decided to head out to Cerulean Cape to visit Bill.

There were a few trainers to battle on the way, some of them recognized her from the last time she's been there while others were new.

Surprisingly they were all very easy to defeat.

Probably because of how strong her team was compared to the wild Pokemon of this area.

It was kind of nice to win these battles easily considering how last time she was there, the trainers were a lot tougher.

That meant she really was getting stronger.

There were a few exceptions, such as a Picknicker named Kelsey who kept her on her toes with a Nidorino and a Nidorina considering how last time she only had two Nidoran.

Then she had a run in with a Youngster named Chad who had an Ekans and a Sandshrew last time, but this time he had an Arbok.

So she wasn't the only one getting stronger.

"Aw man, I thought I had you this time." Chad complained, hanging his head while his Arbok was unconscious, Stinger looking confident at another win.

"Your Arbok is pretty strong, I'd say you're one of the stronger trainers in the area." Violet complimented him as a way to keep his spirit up.

She wasn't lying either, according to the Pokedex the Arbok was almost in the thirties.

Pretty impressive for this area.

Stinger buzzed in disagreement, though Violet ignored that.

"Thanks, but I think that title goes to you." Chad shook his head, returning his Arbok. "You're definitely living up to your reputation."

Violet blinked.

Reputation?

What Reputation?

"I have a reputation?" Violet asked, confusion showing in her tone.

Chad looked taken aback.

"You don't know?" Chad asked, the question making Violet shake her head. "People have been talking about you, you have a file in the Fame Checker."

Violet had no idea how to take that.

Watching as Chad left to heal up his Pokemon, Violet made a mental note to buy a Fame Checker to see this for herself.

Violet found herself at Bill's Cottage shortly after that battle, only to be disappointed that no one was home.

Maybe she missed him?

Or was he on a trip of some kind?

"I guess I'll visit later." Violet muttered, turning to leave before seeing Cerulean Cape and smiled.

At least the view was still nice.

Stinger was out and about, flying around the area in a curious manner, same with Silk who took to practicing her Teleport while they were resting.

Parasite was currently in her Pokeball asleep, so Violet didn't want to wake her.

Instead, she began reading the bike manual only to blink.

The Bike could fold up?

Huh, so that's how they can fit it inside of a bag.

Good to know.

Hearing a splash, Violet glanced up to see a Goldeen jump out of the water before diving back in and she tilted her head as Blaines words went through her head.

'We all have our hobbies, every trainer needs one to keep them going.'

'While there's nothing wrong with just focusing on training your Pokemon, a trainer needs something to keep from losing themselves.'

A hobby.

Would fishing count?

She obviously wouldn't be catching them, just as something to pass the time.

Of course she doesn't have a fishing rod.

Or maybe her hobby could have something to do with her bike?

Or both?

… She needs to look into hobbies a bit more before deciding.

That night, Violet was at the Pokemon Center, holding her new Fame Checker in her hand.

It cost quite a bit of money, something she was hoping to get back in the form of battles on her way to Lavender Town, but she was too curious about what Chad told her.

Turning it on, Violet saw quite a few files on famous trainers in the Kanto Region such as Brock, Misty, Lance, Professor Oak.

Skimming through them, she wasn't that surprised to find one on Green.

Violet ignored that and skimmed further down past other notable people such as Giovanni, Bill, the Captain of the SS. Anne, heck even Pete Pebbleman was on here before eventually she found her own name.

It was a bit surreal to see because the Fame Checker only had people who were well known or famous.

So why was she there?

A part of her didn't want to click on it, but eventually her curiosity made her cave.

The moment she clicked on it, the information popped up.

'Name: Violet Hawke

Age: 10

DOB: July 23rd, 20XX

Home Town: Viridian City

Known Pokemon: Beedrill, Butterfree and Parasect.

Profile Started May 5th, 20XX

Not much is known about this young trainer, but what is known is the fact that she's a Bug Catcher that has managed to obtain several Gym Badges, one of which being the Thunder Badge from the Vermillion Gym, a notoriously difficult Gym for even seasoned trainers.

Quotes said about this Trainer

"Has to be a fluke, I mean a Bug Catcher getting Gym Badges? Give me a break."

"She sounds pretty strong, I want to battle her."

"I've been trying to beat Surge for months and this kid with bugs does it on her first try? What the *Censored*?!"

"I've heard the other Bug Catchers talking about her, I think they're happy to have someone to look up to like how martial artists look up to Bruno or Ghost Specialists look up to Agitha."

"It's just a kid who got lucky, big deal."

"I battled her before, it was before the SS. Anne was attacked, trust me when I say that anyone who underestimates her for her bugs would find a nasty surprise waiting for them."

"A girl that raises bugs? That's kind of weird."

Info Added

May 11th, 20XX

This young trainer has been sighted alongside upcoming Rookie Green Oak battling Team Rocket during the SS. Anne's attack that happened on the 9th, but was knocked into the water after some time, it's unknown if she's still alive.

May 13th, 20XX

Reports of her being seen on Cinnabar Island alongside the esteemed Professor Oak were confirmed as of today along with the fact that she's said to have challenged and defeated Blaine who refused to comment when questioned about it.

*Due to these rumors, a fan base was formed by the Bug Catchers who reside in Viridian Forest upon hearing of her, giving her the nickname of the Insect Queen.

End of Profile.'

Violet blinked, unsure of what to say.

This was... How did-?

What?!

They even knew her birthday?

And people have been keeping track of where she's been?

What if Team Rocket got that info?!

More than that, she looked at the date the profile was started and recognized it as the day after she got the Thunder Badge.

If she remembered correctly, didn't Nurse Joy congratulate her in front of a crowd of trainers?

Was that how this started?

Looking back over the information, Violet saw the added note on the 13th of May, along with the nickname the other Bug Catchers have given her.

Her face went red with embarrassment, unsure of how to feel about the nickname.

Or this whole thing in particular.

This one seems to be a bit of a filler chapter, doesn't it?

A rather short one compared to how long it took for me to get motivated to write it due to how I want to get back to the main story immediately. Honestly I'm not too sure about this chapter compared to the others, so if it's not liked I'll take this one down and rework it.

It was basically her retracing her steps all the way back to Cerulean with the move teleport, a few battles along the way such as the rematch with Brock who won showing that Violet was reaching a roadblock with her team's strength at the moment, it's something she'll definitely be working on later.

But more than that she got a Bike finally along with her having more rematches, the Trainers Kelsey and Chad were in FireRed and LeafGreen where their team gets stronger with the VS. Seeker, my way of incorporating it in a realistic manner.

Along with the Fame Checker, mostly because I wanted to have a scene where Violet realizes she has a bit of a reputation now considering the amount of badges she has.

Technically she is the strongest Bug Catcher in Kanto right now which gives other Bug Catchers from that Region a figurehead to look up to and place on a pedestal like how Johto Bug Catchers look up to Bugsy or the Sinnoh equivalent would look up to Aaron, though she is nowhere close to being on the latters level at this point.

So she's pretty much an idol to Bug Catchers at this point considering how many of them gave up to train other Pokemon while the stubborn ones always remained in the Forest.

And the Insect Queen was a title I had planned for her to obtain since I started this story, basically a title for her like how Brock had the Rock Hard Brawler or Misty had the Tomboyish Mermaid.

But enough on that, the filler stuff is over and next chapter we're finally getting back to the main story which will start with her journey to Rock Tunnel before she ends up in Lavender Town.

Alright, let's get the Reviews out of the way.

RonaldM40196867: Yes to both. After all, given the amount of danger ahead she has a ton to learn. Especially when it comes to improving her battle style and strategy. Besides, when she eventually catches a Venonat, Pinsir and Scyther, she'll need to work on them as well.

Rockadoodle88: Thank you and I'm sorry about that. I've been trying to do better but there are times where I miss it because I get into typing or I'm in a hurry. And the long sentences, I'm doing my best to work on that too, I can promise that. Though I think this chapter was honestly not that good compared to past ones, however I don't want people to think I'm no longer updating this story. Also it'll be a bit before Scyther comes in, he'll be the last one to join the team.

LuxBeacon: Oh Joey will appear in the future, definitely during the Kanto Arc. Glad to know that the scene worked out well with how Violet was a teacher for once. The reverse roles for Lucy and Violet were definitely symbolic considering everything that happened and unlike Violet, Lucy will have a much more balanced team which was why I added Pikachu to her team. Right now it's only a few days before she can travel, so she'll be catching up rather quickly and she might battle Green someday, who knows? Yeah, two weeks without getting much stronger, but honing their abilities would definitely help out in the long run, especially if they can get the psychic abilities that Butterfree's have mastered. Glad to see you like the version of Oak that I'm writing in this story, figured it would make much more sense then him remaining in the background with so much stuff going on. Yea, it'll take a bit before we finally introduce Violet's father but he's already mentioned more than Red's Mom in the manga, seriously I don't remember any of his parents being mentioned at all. Oh the Mew Scene, I got rid of a part that happened in that scene, Mew still appeared but the scene was altered, that's what I meant.

Pokemonking0924: I figured after everything she needed a break, anyone would. Plus it gave her time to bond further with her Pokemon and to work on their moves and abilities a bit. Yeah, with the 'lockdown' in Saffron it's next to impossible to contact anyone in there at the moment. Lucy will definitely have quite a bit of character development in this story that's for sure. Not sure if I will show the battle between Oak and Agatha to be honest, right now I'm just alluding to it.

DemonWolf25: I try to combine all three really, but I'm surprised at how little the Manga side is used. I mean it has a lot of awesome moments.

ShinyHunter135: I love using Blipbug whenever I play Sword, she will definitely catch one, though it won't be for a very long time.

Pyrojack25: Yes, the battle with Lucy was one I was looking forward to typing, no matter how one sided it was, just for the fact that it would start her motivation to try to beat Violet, whether she succeeds or not is up for debate. And yes Team Rocket is getting more dangerous each time they're shown from the small moments in Mt. Moon to the attack on the SS. Anne and finally the fight on Seafoam Island, each run in had their threat level elevate quite a bit and you're right. Jessie, James and Meowth would definitely try to run if they had to see this version because the anime Team Rocket isn't that bad. I figured Mew actually taking them seriously would drive it home in how dangerous the organization is, especially considering they have two of the Legendary Trio captured. I'll have to look into that youtuber, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
