Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, I only own Violet Hawke as my OC.

Summary: Violet Hawke wanted nothing more than to be a Bug Pokemon Trainer, but with how people viewed those types all she got was ridicule until the day she bumped into the local Professor. Now on a journey, she tries to make her goal a reality, but with an Organization coming out of the shadows she has to decide just how much she's willing to risk to realize her goal.

Chapter 24: The Haunted Tower

"Finally." Violet breathed out in relief as she exited the cave after spending another two days lost in the maze like tunnels.

Parasite stood next to her as she took in the sunlight after not seeing it for such a long time.

She really didn't like being in caves, even if she knew that traveling through it was necessary.

Right now however she wanted to hurry and get her Pokemon healed before heading right out to Route 12 and finally catching a Venonat.

So with a determined look, Violet began to run towards the direction of Lavender Town, seeing the sign pointing her in the right direction.

The first thing that Violet noticed about Lavender Town was how ancient the buildings looked.

Compared to the other places in Kanto she's been, Lavender Town was like stepping back in time from the Feudal Era in the History Books.

It did make sense considering how Lavender Town was one of the first towns in Kanto that were built right after Vermillion and Saffron City, though those two were little more than towns back then.

Unlike them however, this place stayed the same.

It was also rather cold despite it being bright and sunny out, but Violet easily ignored that considering Seafoam was a lot colder in her opinion.

'It's not like I'll be staying for long anyways.' Violet fought the urge to shiver as she passed by a house window where she saw her reflection grin maliciously with red eyes.

Thankfully she knew that this town was the official home to many Ghost Type Pokemon, so she didn't panic as one might think.

Something that the 'ghost' in the window noticed if the frown was any indication before disappearing.

"Excuse me, do you know where the Pokemon Center is-?" Violet began to ask for directions only for the person to give her a harsh glare before walking off without a word.

Well that was rude.

So she tried again only for the person to grit their teeth. "Find it yourself."

Geez, what was with this town?

She walked around the corner only to bump into someone. "Sorry-." She began only for the person to jump back as if stung.

"Watch it brat!"

Violet glared as the person left.

She was beginning to really hate this town.

Eventually she found the Pokemon Center and entered a bit on edge before relaxing as Nurse Joy who was at the counter gave her a warm smile. "Welcome, how may I help you?"

"Can you check my Pokemon?" Violet asked, handing the Nurse her team. "We just got out of Rock Tunnel."

"Of course, it shouldn't take too long though if you're looking for a room I'm sorry to say that we're pretty full." Nurse Joy apologized as she placed the Pokeballs in the machine to scan them.

"That's fine, I don't plan to stay too long," Violet said before sighing. "Any idea what's going on with everyone?"

Nurse Joy looked perplexed before realization dawned and she gave Violet an apologetic look. "Sorry, this town isn't usually this bad, but there have been some issues lately."

Violet adopted a confused look. "Issues?"

"The Ghost Pokemon have been acting out, it got to the point where people are paranoid of each other due to how often they use their illusions to mess with others." Nurse Joy revealed with Violet remembering seeing the trick with her reflection earlier. "They usually never leave the Pokemon Tower, so no one knows what's going on."

"The Tower, isn't that the graveyard for the Kanto Region?"

That was all that Violet knew about it really.

The Pokemon Tower was a sacred site for many people in the Kanto Region due to how many Pokemon were buried there over the years, so much that someone was almost lynched when they brought up the idea of turning it into a tourist attraction or a radio tower.

People do go in every now and then to pay respects or to capture a Ghost Pokemon, but they never go beyond the first two levels given how territorial Ghost Pokemon could be.

The only ones allowed to go up there was the family that founded Lavender Town.

The family that the Elite Four member Agatha belonged to.

"Have you tried contacting the League?" Violet asked curiously, knowing this was something they should look into.

"We sent a message out but haven't heard back yet, the League is pretty busy this time of year." Nurse Joy answered Violet right as the machine beeped, showing that Violet's team was healthy. "There you go, good luck on your journey."

A part of Violet wanted to investigate the Tower, mostly out of curiosity but she pushed that part down given how she didn't want to get involved in anything else.

Besides, she was a bit behind on her journey.

Once she catches Venonat, she'll immediately head out towards Celadon to get her fifth badge and a Pinsir.

And then she just needed Scyther and she'll have all of the bug Pokemon in Kanto.

"See anything?" Violet called up as both Stinger and Silk were in the air, looking for a Venonat.

Thankfully they knew what to look for given how they saw Samurai's Venonat back when Parasite was still a Paras.

'I wonder how Samurai is doing right now?' Violet mused wanting a rematch to even out the score from their last battle.

"Fweh!" Silk called out, flying in a direction with Violet quickly taking off after her to see a Venonat drinking from the lake.

"Yes." Violet grinned as she primed a Pokeball. "Psybeam!"

The Venonat was caught off guard as Silk fired the beam of energy right at it before Violet lobbed a Pokeball.

As it was sucked in, Violet cheered only for the Venonat to break out and take off running.

"Oh come on." Violet groaned in frustration.

That's never happened to her before.

Probably because the Pokemon in this area were a lot stronger than the ones where she caught Stinger, Silk and Parasite.

"Probably should start using Great Balls."

She heard Stinger snickering, making her give her Starter a dry look.

Her string of bad luck continued however as each time she found a Venonat, it kept running before she could do anything.

"This is getting ridiculous." Violet finally complained after two hours of this, sitting on a bridge in annoyance while both Stinger and Silk sat next to her. "It shouldn't be this hard to catch a Venonat!"

Looking up with her arms crossed, Violet paused at seeing another Venonat coming out of the grass, not seeing her as it began to look at its reflection in the water.

It was a weird looking one too.

Unlike the other Venonats she's seen, this one had blue eyes instead of red while its bushy fur was a darker shade of purple.

It was so bizarre, but Violet didn't care.

She wasn't wasting this chance.

"Silk Confusion to hold it in place, Stinger bind it with String Shot!" Violet ordered, startling the odd colored Venonat right when her Bug Pokemon shot into action.

The Venonat tried to run but Silk's Confusion prevented that right when Stinger coated its feet with String Shot to keep it from running.

It seemed to be more irritated at the String Shot then anything else given how its struggling increased after being hit by it.

Stinger then zoomed in with a Twineedle before Silk finished it with a Psybeam.

As the Venonat fell over, Violet pulled out a Great Ball and threw it.

She watched with bated breath as the Venonat was sucked in and was obviously struggling given how the Pokeball shook before it gave the ding sound showing that the capture was complete.

"Alright!" Violet cheered, happy to have finally captured a Venonat. "Nice job guys."

Stinger just gave a small buzz, holding his head high at the praise while Silk preened from the attention.

Grabbing the Pokeball, Violet pulled the Pokedex out to scan her new addition to the family.

"Pokemon Registered. Venonat, the Insect Pokemon."

'Pokemon #48

Needed for Evolution: Raise to Level 31

Special Note: This Pokemon has been registered as a Shiny Pokemon.'

"A Shiny?" Violet muttered, never hearing that term before.

Was it something to do with its weird color? She'll ask Professor Oak when she calls him.

But she grinned in excitement.

A new member of the family.

And she couldn't wait to bond with her.

Stinger however looked visibly annoyed.

Was it too much to ask for another guy on the team?

"Seriously?" Violet muttered at her luck, making it back to Lavender Town right as a downpour started, trying to find some shelter, her jacket and hat getting drenched.

But with how rude everyone was and the Pokemon Center being full, that might be a pipe dream right now.

Her team with the exception of Parasite were inside of their Pokeballs while the Mushroom Pokemon was enjoying the storm.

'Should've bought an umbrella.' Violet thought kicking herself for forgetting that compared to everything else.

Of course the one thing she didn't get turned out to be the one she would need.

Looking around, she couldn't see anyone before seeing the Pokemon Tower and after a moment of hesitation, she ran towards there to take shelter.

She would leave as soon as the rain stopped.

Making it inside, Violet breathed a sigh of relief, happy to be out of the rain while Parasite made a small noise, showing some sadness which made her smile.

"At least someone is enjoying the surprise storm."

Rubbing the mushroom on Parasite, Violet looked up to see the countless headstones on the first floor of the Tower and felt a bit awkward.

Hopefully if anyone finds her they would be understanding.

It should be fine as long as she doesn't go past the second floor.

So she sat down, Parasite moving to lay next to her.

"I hope it's a quick shower."

If it turned out to be a storm that would last a few days, Violet might lose her mind.

Hearing a noise, Violet tensed and turned, seeing a shadow disappear.

Right, Pokemon Graveyard, of course there would be Ghost types in the tower.

"As long as I don't bother them, they won't bother me." Violet whispered to herself, though she was doubtful about that.

They were tricksters and Nurse Joy said that they have been acting out as of late.

As if to prove that statement right, Violet was caught off guard when her hat was suddenly snatched off of her head.

Eyes widening, Violet shot to her feet and glared to see a Haunter going to the next floor with her hat, sticking its tongue out at her in a mocking manner.

"Hey!" Violet took off after the Haunter, not wanting to lose that hat, Parasite moving behind her as fast as she could go.

Making it to the second floor where there were even more headstones, Violet looked around not seeing the Haunter.

No, she couldn't have lost her hat.

Taking a deep breath, Violet went to look for that Haunter, ready to let Silk out to Psybeam the Ghost type.

But with each step she took, an uncomfortable feeling began to flow through her.

Like she was being watched and she could see red eyes in the shadows that flickered and disappeared when she got close.

Feeling her throat go dry, Violet felt like she was entering the setting of a horror movie before a noise behind her made her shriek.

Falling to the floor as her scream echoed throughout the tower, Violet turned only to feel embarrassed.

That noise was just water dripping from the ceiling.

Covering her reddening face, Violet stood back up, hearing mocking laughter of the Ghost types at how easy she was to scare there.

"They're only Pokemon." Violet whispered to herself, trying to calm down. "Nothing to worry about."

Looking up, she saw the Haunter now wearing her hat, turning her slight fear into anger as it laughed at her before going to the third floor.

Just like that Violet knew that she was in trouble.

If she went further she would be breaking an ancient tradition that's been set in Lavender Town from ancient times.

But if she doesn't, then she'll lose the only physical connection she has to her Mom.

Biting her lip, Violet came to her decision and began to climb to the next floor.

The Ghost Pokemon behind her that were watching were getting a bit more agitated when she did that.

Making it to the third floor, a thick fog enveloped the area with Violet having trouble seeing in front of her.

The countless shadows that she could see in the fog that disappeared only made her heart beat faster.

"Come on, this isn't funny, I just want my hat back." Violet called out, hoping the Haunter could hear her.

When no answer came, Violet grimaced and walked further into the fog only to see a Psyduck looking at her.

What was a Psyduck doing here?

"Hey, are you lost?" Violet asked, approaching the Psyduck, kneeling down to reach out.

Only to shriek as the skin began to melt off of its body, showing its bones before the Psyduck lunged at her.

Parasite intervened, using Body Slam to knock it away, but that seemed to set off a chain of events as the ground around Violet began to shake, countless limbs springing to life as zombified Pokemon began to pull themselves out of their graves.

This was very terrifying to the ten year old as she sent Silk and Stinger out.

The two bug Pokemon froze at what they were seeing, trying to comprehend this before springing into action with Silk firing Psybeam at the decomposing Pokemon while Stinger used Pin Missile to keep them at bay.

"What's making them move?" Violet asked herself, trembling as some of the corpses fell lifeless after being hit.

Parasite suddenly jumped in front of Violet, taking a Flamethrower that nearly hit her, taking the Mushroom Pokemon out of the fight.

Taken by surprise, Violet looked where the move came from to see Green, standing next to a Vulpix, his face as he looked down.

The surprise turned into anger. "What the heck Green?!" She shouted at her rival. "What was that-... For?"

The anger turned back into fear as Green lifted his head, showing his pupiless white eyes that held nothing but malice.

Suddenly the Vulpix shot another Flamethrower, forcing Violet to dive to the side, returning Parasite while Stinger shot forward, using Agility to make himself faster before slamming into the Vulpix with a Twineedle.

Forcing herself to her feet as Green sent out Kadabra, Violet glared.

"I might now know what's going on, but if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you're going to get." She said, nodding to Silk who fired a Psybeam to counter Kadabra.

While that was going on and Stinger kept the Vulpix busy, Violet sent Parasite back out, taking a revive from her bag, pouring the contents in her mouth.

It took a few seconds for Parasite to regain consciousness as it gave a small muted cry.

"Dig and sneak up on Kadabra, finish him with Leech Life." Violet whispered, remembering how she won against the Psychic type last time.

Parasite wasted no time in following the order while Violet pushed down the uneasy feeling of ordering her Pokemon to dig in a graveyard.

But given what's going on she had to ignore that.

Green ended up sending out Pidgeotto and Sandslash as well, outnumbering her and Violet almost sent out her new Venonat but decided against that.

She had no idea if Venonat would even listen to her.

Besides, checking the levels on Green's team, they were all pretty much even with Violets so Venonat would be outmatched.

On paper, Green should beat her in this fight but there was one advantage.

It was that Green himself wasn't talking, so his Pokemon were fighting without his command.

Or rather under someone else's given how his Pokemon had the same pupiless white eyed look as Green did.

So who was controlling him?

Stinger managed to take down the Vulpix only to grimace as Pidgeotto used Wing Attack on him, sending him towards Sandslash who used Slash attack.

Righting himself after the two hits, Stinger began to use harden and agility simultaneously to enhance his capabilities while Silk was in a losing battle against Kadabra who managed to Paralyze her with Thunder Wave before pulling her in with Confusion to let out a Mega Punch, sending her skidding across the floor.

Thankfully, Parasite chose that moment to lunge out of the ground, taking the Kadabra down with a Leech Life, restoring the rest of her health while taking the frail Psychic down.

With that done, Parasite went to help Stinger, using Body Slam on Sandslash, leaving the Poison Bee Pokemon to focus on an aerial fight with Pidgeotto.

While that was going on, Violet pulled out a Super Potion and a Paralyze Heal to take care of Silk, watching as Green's two Pokemon went down.

Thinking it was over, she tensed when Green released another Pokemon.

It was a large serpentine Pokemon with blue overlapping scales and a yellow underbelly, giving a roar with a large gaping mouth that had four extremely large teeth showing with small white fins on the side of its face as it glared down at her.

"A Gyarados." Violet whispered, taking a step back before it unleashed a Dragon Rage, damaging her three Pokemon as they were nearly taken out. "Silk, Esper Spore! Stinger, String Shot to slow it down! Parasite, go underground and charge up a Solarbeam!"

They needed to hinder it as much as possible before they could take it down.

As her Pokemon sprang into action, Violet glanced over only to see Green gone.

Where did he-?

Rushed footsteps behind her made Violet go left, avoiding a fist as Green nearly punched the back of her head.

Taking a step back, Violet breathed only to cough as something felt off.

Feeling light headed, Violet swore she saw movement in the fog, red eyes piercing through it from behind Green.

Was that what was controlling him?

Seeing the true enemy now as Green lunged at her again, Violet called out having to tear her eyes away from the entity as she realized it was using Hypnosis. "Silk, Psybeam the shadow behind Green!"

The Butterfree turned and saw the shape before listening right as Parasite shot out of the ground, firing a Solarbeam at the Gyarados that was currently blind from Stinger's string shot.

Both attacks hit their target as the shape controlling Green turned out to be a Gastly that gave a haunting screech before dissipating while the Gyarados slowly fell over with a loud thud.

With the Gastly gone, Green regained consciousness, though he fell to one knee light headed as he gripped his temple. "The hell?"

"Oh thank goodness, you're back." Violet whispered, her voice making him look up to see her before scanning the room, seeing five of his Pokemon unconscious.

It didn't take him long to connect the dots as he gritted his teeth, angry that he let this happen to him.

Slowly he pushed himself to his feet, ignoring Violet's hand to help him up, making the girl frown.

'Well at least he's back to his jerkish self.'

But she looked around unsure of how to feel about this victory.

Figures the one time she actually beats Green's team it was because he wasn't in control of himself.

Green kept silent, pulling out some Revives but he paused. "... Thanks."

That caught Violet off guard who stared at him as he got to work, healing his team.

Did he just thank her?

Maybe he was still being controlled?

Once his team was healed up, Green went to return them only to freeze as he quickly patted himself down. "No!" He muttered, turning to Violet. "Did I have Eevee out?!"

Surprised, Violet shook her head as Green's annoyed face turned to one of anger.

"Eevee is missing and so is my Pokedex."

Shocked by that, Violet pulled hers out but it appeared that either the tracking system was off on Green's Pokedex, it was destroyed or it was out of range because it wasn't going off.

"Dammit." Green punched the ground ignoring the pain that followed from doing that.

His own Starter was stolen from him while he was being controlled.

Whoever did this was going to pay.

"Calm down." Violet tried to say but he glared at her.

"Don't tell me to calm down!"

Turning away from her, Green saw the stairs to head up and went that way. "Whoever is behind this has to be near and I'm not letting them get away." He vowed, heading towards it.

After a second, Violet followed.

"I don't need your help anymore." Green said, without looking back.

"Oh really?" Violet raised a brow at him. "Considering you were being controlled, I think you do."

"They just caught me off guard."

"All the more reason to not go alone." Violet returned.

"Tch, fine." Green relented, seeing how she wasn't going to leave. "Just stay out of my way."

Making it to the fourth floor, the fog seemed to have cleared up as the two trainers moved through the tower.

"Why are you here anyways?" Green asked, glancing back. "I came to catch a Ghost Pokemon."

He still needs to do that.

"Came in to take shelter from a storm and a Haunter stole my hat." Violet answered.

Green blinked as in his anger he didn't even realize that Violet's hat was gone.

"You broke ancient tradition for a hat?" Green scoffed at that. "You're a bigger idiot than I thought."

That made Violet glare. "That hat is all I have left of my Mom."

Green went silent at that, now understanding why she was so protective of that hat.

It was something he noticed in their small interactions over the course of their journey.

"Besides you broke tradition as well." Violet pointed out.

Green said nothing, not wanting to say that he technically didn't, considering who his Grandmother was.

That was none of Violet's business.

Tensing up, Green sent out Kadabra who teleported them a few feet away as a pile of acid landed near where they were, sizzling the ground as an Arbok slithered towards them.

But it was the man that was behind the Arbok that made Violet tense up in fear.

The Rocket Executive from Mt. Moon.

"It seems that we meet again Ms. Hawke." The Executive mused, his eyes glaring at the two. "And it seems that your knack for interfering is contagious."

"Shut up, where is my Eevee?!" Green demanded, his Kadabra ready to unleash a Psybeam on the man while Stinger, Silk and Parasite got ready, no doubt the former two remembering their last encounter with this man.

"I'm afraid that information is classified." The Executive smirked at how easily Green was losing his cool. "Not that it matters, neither of you will be leaving this place alive."

With that said, he sent out a Muk to accompany the Arbok.

Violet took a step back, once more feeling like she was in Mt. Moon before forcing that out of her mind.

No, she was stronger now.

And since Green didn't have his Pokedex, she scanned the Muk and Arbok with them being in their fifties.

"Minimize." Koga ordered with Muk grinning as it began to shrink.

Minimize was a rather unique move where a Pokemon compresses energy to shrink itself.

Both to dodge attacks and to have the element of surprise as not many can counter it.

Thankfully, Violet had a way.

"Silk, Psybeam, don't lose track of it, Stinger use String Shot on the Arbok. Parasite, use Spore."

"Kadabra, work with the Butterfree! Thunder Wave. Pidgeotto, Sand Attack the Arbok to weaken it. Sandslash, Dig and Slash, keep it guessing."

He had a hand on the Pokeball containing his Gyarados, waiting for the right moment to send it out so they could Dragon Rage the two Pokemon-.

Violet immediately tackled Green out of the way as some shuriken nearly sliced into him.

"Careful, one of them could be a Pokeball." Violet warned, remembering how this Executive caught her off guard last time.

And she was right as all of them held Golbats that were released to use Confuse Ray on them.

Something that Green countered by having Vulpix who he kept nearby, use Flamethrower, taking a few of them out as they were at a much lower level then the Arbok and Muk.

Muk roared and went to use Sludge on the two Pokemon attacking it, but they both teleported before they could be hit with Silk firing a Supersonic, her Compound Eyes negating the Minimize while Kadabra fired a Kinesis to blind the Muk.

Meanwhile with the Arbok, it was getting nailed from all sides with a String Shot catching its tail, making it stick to the floor while Pidgeotto blinded it with Sand Attack, making it harder for the Cobra Pokemon to see, countless marks from the hit and run attacks from Sandslash.

The executive watched as the two were actually holding their own showing that they've been busy since their run in with Surge on Seafoam Island.

'Surge was right, they're becoming quite the problem.' The Executive thought with a dark look, sending out a Gengar that sank into the ground.

He didn't even need to give it an order as it easily made its way to the trainers before popping out in front of them, giving a malicious laugh.

It fired a Night Shade at the two, hitting them as their minds were assaulted by nightmarish visions distracting them long enough for when the Executive threw a few senbon at the two, watching as they pierced the two, hitting pressure points in their leg and arms, forcing them to go down.

"This battle is over, those senbons are filled with poison from my Pokemon, within minutes the poison will reach your hearts." The executive told them, watching as their Pokemon became more frantic at seeing their trainers down, making them easier to deal with before a bright light engulfed the area as Pidgeotto began to glow.

Seeing the flying type evolving, the Executive ordered for Arbok to finish it before it could happen, but Sandslash reared back with one more Slash, tearing into the Arbok, slicing it in half.

Eyes widening, the Executive snarled at seeing one of his prized Pokemon go down like that right when the Pidgeotto finished evolving.

Now standing a foot taller with its wingspan expanded, Pidgeot gave a cry, its plumage now having the colors brown and cream mixed with the red before unleashing a Gust, the power of its evolution giving it the boost needed to get the Muk stunned long enough for Silk and Kadabra to finish it and take out the countless Golbat due to the Flamethrower being used mixing in with the Gust to unleash a makeshift fire storm.

That left the Gengar who was surrounded by all of the Pokemon that remained.

But the Executive wasn't worried in the slightest.

He won't lie though, he was rather impressed by the two.

Even if they were going to die they put up an admirable fight.

"Gengar, use Toxic to melt the children-." He began only to feel a cold chill before another Gengar took to the field, slicing through his, taking it out with ease as it landed near the Executive.

"Now that's enough of that." An amused voice spoke up as slow footsteps echoed around the room, making the man turn to see Agatha coming out of the shadows, another Gengar with her as she used her walking stick to keep her balance. "To think Team Rocket would even go as far as to disturb the dead? For all your deeds this is the lowest your little group of miscreants has fallen."

She then snapped her fingers as some Haunters appeared. "Be a dear and get the problem children and their Pokemon to the Pokemon Center." She said, not taking her eyes off of the criminal as the Haunters grabbed the two and pulled them into the shadows, using Psychic to pull the Pokemon in.

With them gone, she began to approach the Executive who threw a few Kunai, but the Gengar who remained in Agatha's shadow came out to knock them away with ease.

"Please, you think just because I'm old, I'm also stupid?" Agatha asked, amused by his attempts. "I've been around far too long to be caught off guard by any of your tricks… Koga."

She cackled as the man tensed.

"Who else would use the tricks you do? Now is it just you and Surge or are there more Gym Leaders in Team Rocket?" Agatha asked, tapping a finger on her cane.

Not answering, Koga threw a smoke bomb down, causing the two Gengars to hover over Agatha aggressively before the air got colder.

By the time the smoke cleared, Koga was long gone, but she could see the empty syringe that held the formula they've been working on along with the formerly knocked out Gengar convulsing as shadows began to gather around it and the nearby graves began to tremble as the dead were being brought back once more in greater frequency.

"I'm getting too old for this shit." Agatha muttered, watching as the Gengar exploded with power, the shadows adding to its height as it roared at the old crone who didn't even flinch.

Instead she scrunched up her nose due to the bad smell from the decomposing corpses.

"Gengar, go wild." Agatha was calm when both her Gengars shot at the giant one, before pulling out two more Pokeballs. "Arbok, Glare! Golbat, Razor Wind on the corpses."

She wasn't taking any chances with this before her Haunters returned, going into her shadow to protect her as she watched her team going against the threat.

While Golbat kept the corpses at bay, her Arbok managed to paralyze the enhanced Gengar, leaving hers to lay into it with Psychics and Night Shades.

The fact that it was tanking them showed how powerful it was, especially when it broke free and unleashed a Hyper Beam that tore right into Arbok, forcing Agatha to recall it before it fell, putting her old friend in stasis.

She could see why Bruno had so much trouble with that Snorlax if this was the case.

The Gengar went to attack her, but her Haunters pulled her into the shadows before it could hit as she ended up on the other side of the room, not fazed in the slightest.

Her Gengars were using both Double Team and Substitute to get around without getting hit, doing so in the shadows as opposed to the enhanced Gengar showing that with the power it gained, it seemed to have lost its ability to slink into the shadows.

An advantage she was more then willing to use for her own benefit.

It managed to catch her Golbat with a Thunder, sending it flying with frayed wings, but Agatha returned him just as easily before smirking as one of her Gengars managed to sneak up on it, merging with its body before tearing its core apart with a Psychic, effectively finishing it for good.

The moment the Gengar fell, the rest of the corpses that her Golbat didn't get fell over, dead once more.

"Tch took longer than I thought." Agatha mused given how she couldn't really use her usual Toxic and stall tactics on this one due to it being part poison.

She went to leave only to snap her fingers as the Haunter that stole Violet's hat appeared.

"Next time, don't involve a child in affairs like this." She reprimanded the wild Pokemon in a hash tone as she snatched it back.

Man, a lot happened in this chapter, though honestly I think I did better with the Seafoam Island Arc compared to this one, but I've been rereading this chapter for awhile before deciding it was as good as it was going to get for the moment.

First Violet gets herself a Shiny Pokemon, I was playing Fire Red when I did the bug run and had a lot of bad luck with trying to catch Venonat before running into a Shiny one, so I wanted to add that here, her personality will be shown later.

Then you have the events of the Pokemon Tower, referencing both the Manga with how Koga was there and the desecrated corpses brought back to life and then the game where the battle with the Rival happens, only he was being controlled at the time.

Though he was brought back to his senses, there's trouble as his Eevee is missing as well as his Pokedex leaving Green out for blood by this point.

Next you have the fight against Koga and the two really held their own against him showing some rather impressive teamwork and Violet showing how far her team has come against Koga after their last run in was basically a curb stomp.

Though Koga, being the ninja he is, doesn't play fair, given his weapons giving him another advantage over the kids. Especially when some of them are coated with poison and his knowledge of the human body that allows for him to hit vital areas.

Fortunately Agatha came to the rescue showing their immense luck to having people show up in the nick of time and got to show off her style of battling and despite her old age, she kept up pretty well in that fight, even calling out Koga on who he was showing that as careful as he is, she was the furthest thing from an idiot.

So let's get the reviews out of the way.

RonaldM40196867: Ice day indeed and there is quite a bit of conflict so far with more to come.

Pokemonking0924: Yes and that luck continues with this chapter, especially with Team Rocket getting more frequent as we approach the middle part of the story. And I didn't call Lorelei the Sadistic Ice Mistress for nothing, the fact that her demeanor towards Team Rocket gave you a chill showed that I succeeded in showing off her strength. And no, the Elite Four will be keeping the secret of Mew's sighted location close to the chest given how they don't know who to trust at this moment.

Fajangled: Thank you, I've had a ton of fun typing it up to this point, though I had a bit of trouble with this one.

Guppy72: Wait and see, I'll reveal it in the next chapter.

Zapking5: No kidding, I love the games but seriously? Why don't they have the more experienced trainers try to save the day every now and then? As for Venonat, you're right she would be close to Silk in terms of fighting style, so I need to work on how it'll work in this story.

Emeraldshard: Why thank you, I had fun typing her character when she fought Team Rocket, or rather when she destroyed them in an instant.

LuxBeacon: Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed Lorelei's time to shine because there's so much that can be done with the Elite Four that some people don't do, especially when it concerns them taking on the criminal organizations plaguing their regions. As for Violet, well she's a bit on the fence with that because despite everything Team Rocket has done to her, she's still only ten so she's not sure how to feel about them dying, but she isn't fully against it either showing how much she's been growing up on her journey. Now I can't wait to type out Venonat's interactions with Violet and the rest of the team, especially with the personality I have planned for her.
