Note: Hey sorry for the silence, a lot has been going on, I'm not saying what it is, just some family stuff and being busy with work. I've also finally started that Youtube Channel I've been wanting to do and so far have three videos with it being a playthrough of Pokemon Desolation, though honestly I sound awkward as hell through it all and I have little to no skills in editing, so they're probably horrible.
Here's the link to my channel if anyone's interested. www. youtube channel/UCveFz7nmWhsBlO1qQ3046PQ
Still here's the next chapter to my Pokemon Story, hope you enjoy.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, I only own Violet Hawke as my OC.
Summary: Violet Hawke wanted nothing more than to be a Bug Pokemon Trainer, but with how people viewed those types all she got was ridicule until the day she bumped into the local Professor. Now on a journey, she tries to make her goal a reality, but with an Organization coming out of the shadows she has to decide just how much she's willing to risk to realize her goal.
Chapter 25: The Road to Celadon Part 1
"I'm really starting to hate waking up in random beds." Violet muttered to herself after regaining consciousness, her throat parched.
It took a few seconds for her to remember what happened and she was rather annoyed by how easily she was taken down again.
Even if her team put up a much better fight this time.
At least that was proof that her team was getting stronger.
Speaking of teams, she saw their Pokeballs on the nearby table showing that they were currently in stasis. Her bag was next to them along with her hat which was a pleasant surprise for the ten year old.
Sitting up, Violet's stomach churned showing that even if the poison was out of her system, she was still a little sick and needed some more time to recover.
Reaching into her bag, Violet pulled out the Pokedex and saw that two days have passed since she went into the tower.
She's been unconscious for two days?!
No wonder she felt sore and tired.
Looking around the room, Violet was surprised to see that it didn't look like your typical hospital room.
It was a rather dark room despite the sunlight coming through the windows, she could see cobwebs on the corners of the ceiling and specks of dust everywhere.
Where was she?
Turning her head, Violet was face to face with a Gastly making her shriek as she fell out of the bed, the Ghost Pokemon howling with laughter at her reaction.
"That's enough out of you." Agatha who was just entering the room told off the Gastly, earning a look of displeasure before the Gengar in Agatha's shadow made a noise rectifying the look. "Now get out of here."
The moment Gastly left, Agatha calmly walked over to where Violet fell, seeing her pale face that turned into shock at seeing her.
"Tch, are you just going to lie there all day or are you going to get up?" Agatha asked, not even waiting for an answer as she turned around. "This isn't a five star hotel."
Pushing herself up, Violet watched as Agatha left the room, trying to comprehend this.
This was the second Elite Four member she met in under a week.
And it was Agatha the Ghost Master.
Or was it Poison? No one can tell with her considering how many poison types she has compared to Ghosts.
Shaking her head to focus, Violet pushed herself up, her limbs protesting from the action.
Placing her hat on her head, Violet smiled in relief that she didn't lose it.
Wanting to get moving, Violet quickly grabbed her team and her bag before walking out, going down the long, narrow hallway while she found some rather old paintings on the walls.
Paintings with red eyes that were following her.
Makes sense considering this was most likely Agatha's place so it had to be full of Ghost Pokemon.
Violet gave a start when a Haunter came out of her shadow, hands outstretched at her face before laughing at her reaction as it disappeared.
'Starting to see why people are wary of Ghost Pokemon.' Violet thought in annoyance, wanting to get out of here.
Eventually she found herself in what looked to be a foyer, though it was a rather decrepit one that was slowly falling apart.
Agatha was waiting rather impatiently by the door, tapping a finger to her cane in the process. "You sure took your time." She said rather sharply.
Violet winced at that, not sure how to respond.
Instead she kept silent.
Agatha's frown deepened at that. "Tch and here I thought one of Samuel's sponsors would have a bit more backbone." She muttered, not thinking much of Violet even with all she heard. "You're even more spineless then he was after his glory days."
"I'm not spineless." Violet protested while Agatha raised a brow.
"Perhaps foolish would be a better word given how you chased after Haunter past the second floor."
Violet tensed at that, feeling pretty nervous now.
Right, with what happened she forgot she did break an ancient rule.
Was that why the Ghost Pokemon in this place were messing with her?
They were pretty vindictive at times and very dangerous to those who do go up the tower without permission.
Watching her squirm a bit was amusing to Agatha, but she decided to continue. "Given what happened though, we'll overlook it this time." She said, her eyes shifting to the side where she saw another Haunter about to scare Violet, the same one who stole her hat. "Technically you did have permission when your hat was stolen."
Her look made the Haunter pause and back up with a pout before disappearing.
Any response Violet would have was cut off when Green entered the foyer, looking rather angry.
Given his Starter and Pokedex were missing, Violet couldn't blame him and she felt some concern for him.
She knew that if something ever happened to her Pokedex or to Stinger then she would've been beyond worried.
The fact that it was Team Rocket who had both only added to the concern.
Green said nothing to either of them, instead heading for the door only for a Gengar to pop out of Agatha's shadow and get in his way.
"Not so fast, we need to have a little chat." Agatha said, eyes glinting with amusement as Green glared at her.
"We have nothing to chat about." Green spat out at her.
Violet looked pretty alarmed by that.
Sure Green always said what was on his mind without fear of angering people, but there was actual venom in his tone when he spoke to Agatha.
So she had no idea what to make of that.
And the Gengar narrowed its eyes, not liking the tone one bit.
"Oh really?" Agatha asked, smirking at him. "I see Samuel hasn't taught you any manners."
"What. Do. You. Want?" Green said through clenched teeth, glaring at her.
"I'm making something clear, if you go after the Eevee you lost, you're going to get yourself killed." Agatha said in a simple tone, not bothered by him.
If anything, Green's glare deepened. "You don't get to tell me what to do after you walked out on Gramps."
That got a reaction out of Agatha who clenched her staff rather tightly. "And you don't get to talk about stuff you clearly don't understand. Grandson or not, I won't take that lightly."
"Wha?" Violet took a step back, not expecting this.
Agatha was Green's grandmother?!
Green glanced at Violet for her reaction with an annoyed look.
So much for not telling anyone.
Agatha however huffed. "Yes we're related, keep up brat." She said not even looking at the Bug Catcher before she continued. "All you'll do is get yourself killed because you're too weak to stand up to Team Rocket or did you forget how I had to intervene the moment you went down?"
Not to mention how they only survived Surge because of how Oak intervened.
They can't get lucky forever.
"I'm not weak." Green protested, taking a step forward but the Gengar made a noise of warning, already losing its patience with the boy.
"Oh really? Then you wouldn't have let yourself be controlled or lost your Eevee." Agatha said, a rather sarcastic tone in her voice, Green gritting his teeth as she said that last part. "Or you wouldn't let Koga take you down so easily."
Green went quiet but Violet blinked. "Wait Koga? The Fuschia City Gym Leader?"
This was ridiculous, how many Gym Leaders were secretly Team Rocket Members?!
"Former Fuschia City Gym Leader, while you both were out the League raided the Gym but he was already long gone." Agatha looked from Green to Violet when she answered. "Right now we have another trainer taking over temporarily until we can find a replacement."
She huffed in annoyance at the paperwork this involved, especially with her having to intervene.
The sooner this League passes by the sooner she could relax in her retirement.
Agatha then glanced at Green, seeing that he wasn't paying attention and promptly turned away, her Gengar going back in her shadow. "Whether you listen to me or not is your call, just know that I won't bail you out again."
Gritting his teeth, Green just left the place, leaving for Violet to awkwardly glance at Agatha before following suit.
Making it outside, she ran to catch up to Green who didn't even glance at her as they walked in silence before he sighed after a few minutes. "What?" He asked, coming to a stop the moment the old Lavender mansion was out of sight.
Violet shifted uneasily, not really sure what to say and she didn't want to ask about the problem with Agatha because it was clearly some family drama she didn't want to get involved in.
"What's the plan?"
That surprised Green who gave her a look, barely covering it up. "None of your business."
"Considering how many times I've run into Team Rocket it kind of is." Violet shrugged at how he said that. "I'm not going to stand by while your Eevee is in their hands."
"I don't need or want your help."
Ignoring his harsh tone as he walked ahead, Violet pulled her Pokedex out. "So I guess you don't need this to try and track yours down?" She asked, making Green come to a complete stop, trying to ignore how she actually sounded a little smug for once.
While he wasn't looking, he knew exactly what she pulled out and resisted the urge to groan before swallowing his pride and turning to her, his face adopting a confused expression.
"Why?"
He didn't expect her to offer any help.
Violet frowned, not sure how to answer that.
Finally after a few tense seconds of silence, she spoke. "You helped me on the ship, Seafoam Island and even in Cinnabar with the TM you gave me," She said in a careful tone. "Is it really that hard to believe I want to help you?"
"I just figured you would do anything to avoid Team Rocket, not actually look for them."
That was true.
This was the first time Violet was going to actually search for them, even after promising Prof. Oak that she would avoid them.
Violet gave a small laugh, a bitter tone showing. "At this point I'm starting to give up on ever avoiding them." She said, remembering all the times she either ran into them or they hunted her down.
Outside of Pallet Town.
Mt. Moon.
Cerulean City.
The SS. Anne.
Seafoam Island.
Outside of the Rock Tunnel.
And finally the Pokemon Tower.
Seven separate times in the span of two months.
"And you have to admit, we made a good team against them," Violet reminded Green who looked away in thought. "I'm not saying we travel together every step of the way in Kanto, but if you're going to go looking for them to get your Eevee back wouldn't it be better with someone watching your back?"
Though he hated to admit it, Green knew that Violet had a point.
Especially because of how strong Surge and Koga were along with how they had Articuno.
And then you had that woman on Seafoam who teleported Surge out of there.
Despite how strong he claimed to be, they were stronger.
Turning away, Green huffed. "Don't you dare slow me down." He said, missing how Violet looked surprised as he walked off.
She honestly didn't think she could convince Green but she smiled and followed after him.
Until they found his Eevee it seemed that they were going to be travelling together.
The sun was setting by the time the two were ready to make camp, making some progress from Lavender Town towards Celadon City, the only way for them to go for the moment.
The whole walk was rather silent except for whenever Violet was checking the Pokedex to see if Green's was in range, though they had no luck on that front.
Still they had a few more days until they could reach Celadon, so it might start beeping before then.
Closing the Pokedex after checking it one final time, Violet glanced up to see Green releasing all of his Pokemon except for Gyarados.
Pidgeot, Kadabra, Sandslash and Vulpix all appeared, stretching before pausing as they saw her along with Green, the former three glancing at their trainer as if wondering if they were having a battle while the latter was curious in who she was, only seeing her once in the chaos that was the tower after being freed from the hypnosis mind control.
Green paused to give Pidgeot a nod, showing his own congrats on his evolution which made the bird puff his chest out in pride.
"You're not sending Gyarados out?" Violet asked curiously.
"Gyarados prefers to sleep in water, so he remains in his Pokeball unless there's a battle, training or a lake when we camp." Green answered her before he began to take a tent out of his bag to unfold.
The minute he did that, his Pokemon took off with Sandslash using Slash on some branches on a tree with Kadabra using Confusion to hold them in the air, waiting for the ground type to use dig to make a fire pit where he slowly lowered the sticks in before using Confusion to grab some nearby rocks to place around the pit.
Then the Vulpix came over and lit the branches on fire with a small ember.
Violet looked surprised by all of this.
Whenever she camped, neither she nor her Pokemon did anything like this.
They just plopped down wherever they could and slept.
Still, not wanting to stand there doing nothing, Violet let Stinger, Silk and Parasite out with the three panicking for a brief second before seeing she was fine.
Oh right, the last thing they saw before being placed in stasis was her and Green going down.
Speaking of which, they noticed Green and tensed up, probably thinking that some sort of battle was about to happen.
"We're traveling with Green for now." Violet said in a simple tone with her Pokemon looking very unsure about this.
But they kept that part to themselves before the two flyers glanced at Parasite, making a few noises as they took off.
That made Green look over with a raised brow. "Where are they going?"
"Whenever we make camp both Stinger and Silk go to collect honey from nearby plants and tree sap, it makes for some good income with the right people and it adds some flavor whenever we eat." Violet then pulled some empty jars from her bag for whenever they returned. "Though it's only if Parasite is out that they do this so I'm not left alone."
Otherwise they won't leave the camp.
Green hummed in thought.
Parasite slowly walked over towards Green's Pokemon, making some noises with Pidgeot actually looking concerned at how emotionless Parasite was as he remembered this Pokemon back from when it was a Paras.
Kadabra however turned away, the loss against this bug still going through his mind along with the more recent one he could barely remember.
Sandslash just took a few steps back a bit weirded out while Vulpix calmly groomed herself, not that bothered.
While that was going on, Green noticed Violet holding a fourth Pokeball. "You have another one?"
If that was the case, then why didn't she let it out against Koga?
"Kind of, I caught Venonat right before the Tower, so I haven't really gotten to know her yet." Violet gave a low chuckle, gripping the Pokeball. "With everything that happened I almost forgot I caught her."
Shaking her head, Violet let Venonat out and the minute she appeared Green actually let out what sounded like a strangled cry, looking in disbelief.
"You caught a Shiny?" Green asked, not expecting that.
"Is that bad?" Violet wasn't sure what to make of his reaction. "I was just trying to catch her before she ran off like the other Venonats."
"Is tha-?! Do you not realize how rare shiny Pokemon are?"
Violet shook her head.
Green stared before sighing, not sure why he was surprised at this point.
While this was going on, Venonat was just looking around rather nervously, taking a few steps back as she could see all of the strong Pokemon around her that dwarfed her in both size and strength.
Seeing that Violet approached Venonat and crouched to appear smaller. "Hey there." She said with a friendly smile to Venonat, reaching a hand out.
The next thing Violet knew, Venonat used Confusion to launch her away from the bug.
Thankfully, Green's Kadabra caught her easily with his own Confusion, but the actions of Venonat caused Parasite to slam into her with a Body Slam, pinning it down as it struggled, sounding very annoyed with the dirt going in her fur.
As Kadabra lowered Violet down, Green gave her a deadpanned look. "You do realize you're lucky it didn't go for Poison Powder right?" He shook his head. "What were you thinking?"
Just going up to a newly caught Pokemon like that?
Especially when her only Pokemon in the area wasn't close enough to prevent something like that from happening?
If Kadabra wasn't here then she could've been seriously injured.
It's like she has no sense of self preservation.
"I just did what I did with the others."
That made Green go silent. "How are you even alive?" He asked in a confused tone.
Weedles were well known to be temperamental to new trainers at best and downright deadly at worst with their Poison Stings.
Paras could pierce a person's skin and drain their nutrients with their claws after using their spores from their mushrooms to incapacitate the person in question.
The fact that neither of those things have happened to Violet was a testament to her luck if that was how she approached each of them.
If she even tried that with a Scyther or a Pinsir she would've been crushed like a grape or sliced to ribbons in a split second.
Only Caterpie was safe to approach in that manner because the worst one would experience was a bad smell due to the stench they give out to ward off predators.
Violet said nothing in response to that.
She knew the reason was because of who her Pokemon were.
Stinger was playful as a Weedle, not a dangerous playful like some Pokemon can be but he showed a lot of affection the moment she caught him.
Silk only joined because of the food, being a little wary of Violet but not enough to actually do anything.
Parasite was too timid to even try anything back then, especially with Stinger and Silk out.
She knew that when she approached them and after those three she kind of assumed it would work the same with Venonat.
Speaking of which, Venonat was trying to use Confusion on Parasect but the bulky mushroom Pokemon resisted it quite easily due to training with Silk who was much better with that certain attack.
"Parasite you can get off." Violet called out with the mushroom Pokemon glancing towards her and after a few seconds listened, leaving for Venonat to stand up, glaring at the one who attacked her before turning away in a huff.
Green shook his head and got back to work on the tent, wanting it up before the sun set.
"Sorry, Parasite is rather protective." Violet said to the Venonat who glanced at her with the girl approaching again, this time however she kept her distance a little to avoid making the bug uncomfortable. "My name's Violet, it's nice to meet you."
Venonat kept looking before turning away as it shook its fur, trying to get the dirt off.
Seeing that, Violet remembered how the Venonat didn't notice her before being captured by looking at its own reflection.
So this Pokemon was more interested in her own looks?
Deciding to use that, Violet reached into her bag to pull out a small towel. "Need some help?" She offered, catching Venonat's attention once more.
The Venonat tilted her head before deciding to allow it if it meant this dirt would get off faster.
Smiling, Violet walked closer and began to use the towel to wipe the dirt off, being careful not to do it too hard otherwise the Venonat might send her flying back with another Confusion.
'Maybe I can look into getting grooming tools in Celadon?' Violet thought to herself.
It was something she didn't have because neither of her other Pokemon were ones to care about their appearances, same with her really.
But considering what she figured out so far with Venonat, that would be the best way to bond with her.
As she got the dirt off, Venonat gave a low cry, finding this kind of nice.
Though she still was wary of Violet, mostly annoyed by the surprise attack from their first meeting and how dirty she got with the String Shot.
"There you go." Violet said, managing to get as much of the dirt out as she could, though Venonat looked irked because of how her fur was now messed up. "I don't really have a brush, so I won't be much help there."
Hearing that, Venonat began to groom herself, leading Violet to stand up and glance at Green who was almost finished with the tent. "Anything I can do to help?" She called out, not wanting to leave him to set up the camp by himself.
At first Green said nothing but he nodded to Pidgeot who took to the air, making a cry as he began to fly in a certain direction. "Pidgeot can see a stream up there, I have some water canteens that need to be filled." He told her, accepting that bit of help. "Pidgeot will lead you there and keep an eye in case something happens."
Violet gave a nod while Venonat perked up at hearing the word stream, something that Violet noticed.
"Parasite, you stay behind to let Stinger and Silk know if they get back before me."
She was going to use this walk to get to know Venonat for the moment.
Violet hummed as she walked in the direction Pidgeot was leading her, carrying the empty flasks to fill, Venonat walking behind her, keeping a fearful eye on the Pidgeot.
She had no idea if the flying type would try to eat her or not, so she wanted to be cautious.
The sky was darkening showing that they didn't have too long before it was dark out, so Violet was hoping to get to the stream and back before then.
But she was getting tired of the silence, having kept it all day so she spoke. "You want a nickname?"
Venonat's antenna twitched as she looked at her new trainer.
"It's something I've been doing for the other members of the team, I'm trying to prove to the world that Bug Pokemon can be just as good as any other ones." Violet continued, glancing at the sky. "It's been a dream of mine ever since I set out with Stinger."
And she already came so far with half of a team.
Venonat kept quiet.
Hearing all of this showed that if she officially joined, then Violet would be expecting her to battle and she didn't like the sound of that.
While most Pokemon enjoy battles, she much preferred being clean and scar free, thank you very much.
Though she's not blind to the fact that her unusual color, something she takes pride in, is basically a beacon for people trying to catch her wanting a shiny of their own or for predators to easily spot her.
Up until Violet, she's been able to avoid them with ease.
Then she remembered overhearing Violet and that boy before she approached Venonat the first time.
'You caught a Shiny?'
'Is that bad? I was just trying to catch her before she ran off like the other Venonats.'
This kid didn't try to catch her just because she was shiny, so that was a point in her books.
Might as well go along with this for now, though she's definitely not going to try and battle, that's for sure.
So with that done, Venonat ran forward making a noise, watching Violet's face light up as she guessed what the Pokemon was saying.
"Okay, before I caught you I had quite a few names thought of already such as Amethyst and Dusk, but I don't think the former would work when you evolve." Violet did look into how a Shiny Venomoth looked. "What about the latter?"
Venonat shook her head, not liking it.
"Scales?"
Another no.
"Okay this is going to be a tough one-." Her eyes lit up. "What about Sapphire?"
That was the color that Venomoth would be once Venonat evolved.
Venonat perked up at that, liking the thought of being named after a jewel and preened.
"Alright, Sapphire it is." Violet grinned her way before they made it to the stream.
"Bzzt." Stinger buzzed lightly, finding a flower field and ignoring the Growlithe that came up to sniff him as he began to get some honey, watching as the fire puppy ran off afterwards.
While he was doing that, his mind kept flashing to everything that happened so far.
Once more his trainer was taken down despite how much they improved and it frustrated him immensely.
The fact that it was that same exact man who nearly killed her in Mt. Moon only added to that.
Still he did have some gratification at seeing the Arbok get sliced in half.
Normally he wouldn't take pleasure in that but considering the pain that particular Pokemon and its trainer has been causing them, he'll take what he can get in regards to payback against it.
More than that, he was rather against traveling with that Green boy.
After all he remembered the insults against him and his teammates along with how he talked down to Violet quite clearly.
Hearing a noise, Stinger didn't turn around thinking it was Silk and went to ignore her wanting to be by himself only to be surprised when an Ekans shot out of the tall grass and bit him before wrapping around him.
Buzzing in anger, Stinger fired a String Shot at its face, forcing it to let go before jabbing it with a Twineedle, knocking it out entirely as it was sent flying.
He was really starting to hate that evolution line and was angry that he let himself be attacked like that.
Especially by a Pokemon that was obviously much weaker then he was.
"Fweh." Silk commented, making him turn to see another Ekans that was being held down by a Confusion and came to a startling realization.
This second Ekans was about to attack him while he was held by the first one, Silk intervened which gave Stinger enough time to use his String Shot.
If Silk wasn't here that second Ekans would've stopped him before he could do that and he didn't want to picture what would happen next.
"Bzzt." Stinger muttered a low thanks, catching Silk by surprise before she began to violently slam the Ekans into the ground with surprising ferocity as she sent it flying in the same direction as the first making him stare in stunned silence.
It appeared that he wasn't the only one starting to hate the evolution line.
Sure it wasn't fair to the Pokemon but their experiences with Ekans and Arboks were never good considering how many members of Team Rocket had them.
Feeling some discomfort, Stinger glanced at the bite in his shoulder seeing that it pierced his carapace.
Thankfully he was a Poison Type, otherwise that would be a very serious injury along with poison in his veins.
It'll heal, but it was annoying.
Silk noticed and flew close with concern.
Stinger played it off and continued to gather honey, ignoring the ache before he thanked her.
This was just a reminder that no matter how strong he was getting, even weaker Pokemon could get the jump on him if he wasn't careful.
Something he really should've known already given how many times he and the others fought and won against Pokemon that were much more powerful then they were.
Silk seemed surprised by the gratitude.
Normally Stinger would've played it off like he had it under control and that worried her.
It was funny in a way, they always tried to one up each other ever since they met and antagonized one another, the memory of them firing String Shot back when they were a Kakuna and Caterpie along with flinging honey at each other came to mind and Silk couldn't help but giggle at the memories in fond amusement.
Compared to everything else, she was starting to treasure those moments.
Stinger tilted his head, wondering what she was giggling about before she flew close and used String Shot on his shoulder, catching him by surprise as the bite was covered.
She didn't need to do that, he would've taken care of it himself.
Tilting her head, Silk flew off to a nearby flower and after a moment Stinger gave a low buzz, showing some gratitude.
It seemed that he wasn't going to get the alone time he wanted when he did this.
But maybe that wasn't so bad.
By the time Violet made it back to the camp, she saw Green's Pokemon having a fourway fight between Kadabra, Sandslash, Vulpix and Gyarados.
"What's going on?" She asked a bit panicked, only seeing Green standing to the side watching.
"We're training, I suggest you do the same if we're going to be going after Team Rocket." Green gestured to a nearby hole. "Your Parasect decided to burrow down there if you're wondering where she is."
He then glanced towards her, not bothered when the Gyarados nailed Vulpix with a Dragon Rage only for the vixen to get back up immediately to launch a Confuse Ray, being backed up by Kadabra's Psybeam and Sandslash using Poison Sting.
"Any trouble getting the water?"
He doubted it because Pidgeot would've gotten their attention if there was any trouble.
"None." Violet handed him the flasks. "It was a quiet walk and I think I made some progress with Sapphire."
Sapphire didn't answer, instead looking terrified at how brutal this training session was.
Was this what she had to look forward to?!
Green made no comment on the nickname. "Vulpix." He called out, catching her attention, leaving for the other three Pokemon to leave her alone as she made her way towards him with Pidgeot taking her place with a Quick Attack.
Her newfound bulk pushed Gyarados back, making him roar a challenge at the bird Pokemon.
"Doesn't this seem a bit much?" Violet asked, seeing Sandslash use a slash on Gyarados, cutting into the scales.
Instead of answering, Green held the flask out as Vulpix did a low flamethrower on it.
It was fireproof and he was only doing this to boil the water, getting rid of any bacteria that could be inside of the stream.
Violet frowned, thinking he was just ignoring her before he spoke. "How serious do you take being a trainer?"
That took Violet aback a little, not expecting that question.
Green didn't wait for her to answer.
"I can't afford to go easy on them, especially during training. As their trainer it's my responsibility to make them as strong as I can and I can't do that unless I push them past their limits." Green told her, looking back at his team, eliciting for Violet to do the same.
She could see how exhausted Sandslash and Kadabra were along with how Gyarados was panting, but they kept going with grins on their faces.
"You know better then anyone how dangerous Team Rocket are and we can't afford to slack off at any point."
"I do but if you push them too much they'll be exhausted by the time we get ready to fight them."
Their conversation was cut off when Stinger and Silk made their way back to the camp, leaving for her to turn her attention to them.
Green watched as she made a small fuss about the makeshift bandage on the Beedrill's shoulder before turning his attention back towards his training regime with Vulpix rejoining.
It was close to the middle of the night by the time Green finished training, his Pokemon looking exhausted as they were all lying in different parts of the camp with the exception of Gyarados who opted to return to his ball.
Meanwhile, Violet spent most of the time getting to know Sapphire and integrating her to the team.
"You wasted tonight." Green told her in a sharp tone.
It was baffling to him on how she didn't even try to train today.
Violet just gave him a look. "Oh really?" She asked with a grin. "I think tonight was time well spent for me working on my bonds."
Green snorted. "Bonds? Now you're sounding like Gramps."
He's not saying it's not important because he had a bit of a bond with his team, but it wouldn't matter when they get to the actual fight.
"You say that like it's a bad thing." Violet pointed out before nodding to Stinger who took to the air.
Another reason she didn't train was because she knew that Green's Pokemon would be exhausted tonight, so it left her team to be the guards for tonight given how well rested they were.
Parasite meanwhile dug underground while Silk flew towards Sapphire and began to speak with her.
"Besides, Sapphire is new and I want to take things a little slow with her."
"Coddling won't do anything."
That made Violet glare. "Neither will training her so hard she won't move."
Green scoffed at that, before turning away showing that the conversation was over before entering his tent.
Rolling her eyes, Violet walked away to where she placed her sleeping bag, taking her hat off to place on her backpack itself.
However, she couldn't get what he said out of her head, staring at the stars above, knowing that no matter how close she was to her Pokemon, they do need to train a bit more.
Unknown to her, Green was the same way inside of his tent as he thought about what she said about bonds remembering the conversations with his Grandpa on the importance of them.
"I see." Giovanni muttered as Koga finished giving him the report, the former sitting on a couch while Persian laid next to his feet while he leaned forward, lacing his fingers together in thought. "So our plans for the Haunted Tower ended in a failure."
They were hoping to use the tower as a base after clearing it out of the Ghost Pokemon, but they almost succeeded given how they caught plenty of them, the Grunts and Admins getting Gastly's and Haunters to help diversify their teams a bit.
"And the Hawke girl was there?" Giovanni asked, glancing up at Koga.
The same girl who kept getting in their way to the point where he was beginning to really dislike this child.
The first few times he'll admit it was on them considering how she wasn't looking for them with bad luck involved and some of his men took it upon themselves to go after her in vengeance, causing them to lose even more assets that they sorely needed.
Surge and the Admins coming to mind.
It was why he sent the Admins to Johto to integrate themselves over there and await future orders.
But now she was starting to push her luck.
"She was."
Giovanni narrowed his eyes.
He might have to get involved personally if this kept up.
"Head to Saffron City and lay low in the safe house alongside Surge." He ordered the former Poison Gym Leader. "With you exposed, having you in the field is too dangerous."
And they can't afford to lose any of the executives at this point.
Especially now that Koga can't send anymore Safari Pokemon to the Game Corner to help fund their activities.
"I want you to work on your control over Articuno while Surge works with Zapdos, when we have Moltres we'll work on the next phase."
Koga gave a nod and left without a word, leaving for Giovanni to turn his laptop on to show the Eevee they procured from the failed mission crying out in pain as it was being experimented on.
So far it was going well as he saw the Eevee's form shift to show a Flareon before becoming a Vaporeon and then a Jolteon before going back to normal.
He then switched the camera over to show one of the scientists going over this device that Eevee's trainer had.
The man was looking over it slowly to see how it worked with very promising results.
"Tell me Sabrina," Giovanii spoke, feeling a presence behind him as the masked woman who saved Surge appeared out of nowhere. "How much of a problem will she be?"
Knowing he was referring to Violet, Sabrina took off her disguise, showing a young nineteen year old girl with pink eyes and long black hair that was currently pulled into a bun.
Focusing as her eyes began to glow blue, Sabrina saw into the future before nodding.
"She will cause more problems, however it will be her end." She said to Giovanni who listened intently. "Our plans for Silph Co. She'll come into contact with Surge again while he controls Zapdos and will perish."
The images raced through her head with everything the young bug catcher would accomplish.
Facing the other Gyms, completing her bug team, facing Surge only to have her heart stop via electrocution.
From there, nothing.
Her death will be meaningless and she will be forgotten in the grand scheme of things.
As was fate.
Giovanni gave a low nod, knowing how accurate Sabrina's predictions were.
It was one of the reasons he personally recruited her in the early stages of Team Rocket, back when she was a child who lost everything, ensuring her loyalty to the Organization.
Coughing could be heard as Lucy exited Viridian Forest, her Spearow on her shoulder as her clothes were wrinkled and full of dirt, having finally made it out after a week inside.
Her first week after gaining her trainer license, she was intent on getting her first badge and moving to build her team up before continuing so she can try to enter the upcoming Indigo League Tournament.
Then when she sees Violet again, she'll crush her in their rematch.
No matter what bugs she sends out.
To Be Continued…

Alright, finally got this chapter out and man oh man a lot is happening.
From Green and Violet making a temporary truce in their rivalry to go after Team Rocket, a very stupid move on their part but given the reason it's understandable, to Giovanni's reaction to hearing about the failure in the Haunted Tower.
And then Sabrina's Vision, that certainly adds a lot of worries in the future.
We also finally have Lucy starting her journey, making it out of the Forest showing how far behind she is, but she is beginning to catch up and is determined to pay Violet back for her loss.
Not to mention I'm pretty sure everyone now knows what I have planned for Green's Eevee at this point, am I right?
Now the reason I'm having Violet and Green travel together for the moment is because it makes sense really.
At this point in their journey Violet is starting to consider Green to be more of a friend rather than a rival after everything they survived. Though Green will probably deny that if asked. And she's not the type of person to let a friend go into danger like this alone.
Plus with how many times she ran into or was ambushed by Team Rocket, she's finally getting to the point where she's willing to take the fight to them, especially since she is getting strong enough to hold her own.
And she also doesn't want to know how dangerous Team Rocket can be if they can duplicate the Pokedex so that's another reason why she's making such a reckless decision right now.
This also gives me a chance to develop their characters a bit more because both of them have a different style of training.
Green favors overpowering his enemies by focusing entirely on training, combined with the strategies he's employed it would make him a fierce opponent.
Violet on the other hand focuses too much on her bonds and doesn't train her team until they're about to collapse.
Both have their pros and cons, as such both of them will learn from one another on this short journey.
And don't worry, once they find Eevee they'll go their separate ways and be back to being rivals.
Oh and we have Sapphire (I know it's unoriginal but I like it) showing her prissy personality as she's one of the Pokemon that would care more about her appearance then battling.
That's not to say she won't hold her own if she has to, which she will, but she prefers not to if the option is there.
Alright that's enough out of me, I better get to the Reviews.
RonaldM40196867: Don't worry I will, I'm really looking forward to getting to the Silph Co Arc.
ThePinkJirachi: I know, looking back, it's been eighteen chapters since she caught a Pokemon, so it's certainly been awhile and hopefully Sapphire's personality was done well enough, her prissy personality will certainly make her stand out from the others and I can't wait to show the last two that will join later on.
Pokemonking0924: Yea, with it being centered on the Pokemon Graveyard, who better then Agatha to show up? Though in this chapter she did show why she was known as the Old Crone by some people with how she acted. As for Koga's personality, it's more along the line of hiding in plain sight because a lot of Team Rocket members use poison Pokemon and before Surge was revealed, the Gym Leaders were trusted explicitly to where the thought of them being in Team Rocket was laughable at best, it was how they got away with so much because of the inside information that gained them. Haha yes, Stinger has to deal with yet another girl on the team as opposed to wanting another guy to interact with, it was hilarious for me when it happened in game with catching three female bugs in a row, but Sapphire is the last female to join the Kanto team I can promise that. You actually guessed the planned nickname and yeah I about fell out of my seat when I ran into the shiny Venonat in game.
LuxBeacon: Yeah, we're pretty much at the halfway point of this story in terms of stuff going on, which makes sense considering Violet had half of the badges as well, but two of the five Leaders are revealed and I'm glad you caught the Manga Reference with the Arbok because that was a defining moment in there and it was one that caught me off guard when I first read it. I think you already guessed the plan with Eevee and Team Rocket with the Pokedex is a terrifying prospect. Shiny Venomoth is majestic in my opinion, I personally love it, sadly Quiver Dance isn't around yet, so she won't have access to it for awhile. I have plans on how to integrate Sapphire into the team and what moves she'll learn to give her a very different role in future fights. Honestly, Silk can carry Violet rather easily considering how she's ten at the moment, add in using Confusion to help out and she can fly with Butterfree, though she hasn't figured that out yet. Saffron is still closed off, luckily there's the Underground Path. And while finally having the advantage at the next Gym for once is nice, Violet has shown that you don't need the advantage to win so it'll still be a tough one.
Kunoichi69: Yes and they're heading headfirst into another one with Green blinded by his anger and Violet concerned about Team Rocket recreating the Pokedex. As for Koga's Gym, I'm honestly still working out the kinks in that one as something I had planned turned out to not be able to work, it should be fixed by the time I get to that point. Hopefully Sapphire's personality was unique enough to make her enjoyable and don't worry the future Pinsir and Scyther are male. It was honestly hilarious in how long it took for me to get another male on the team that wasn't Stinger in the game.
Ryyaikki: Yes she is, her personality on the other hand leaves much to be desired and I love Shedninja, it was always an awesome Pokemon to use.
Big Eater: Yeah, so far Stinger, Silk and Parasite are in normal Pokeballs while Sapphire is in a Great Ball, Scyther for sure will be in a Safari Ball… Huh, a Premier Ball for Pinsir actually works on that occasion.
Guppy72: Nope, Green isn't the type to be meek with everyone. He's rude, blunt, a bit scrappy when it comes down to it and isn't one to back down. Plus with how it was stated his Parents are dead and Prof. Oak had to raise him by himself, it stands to show that he resents Agatha for what he perceives as her walking out on them. So if anything he really doesn't like her.
