Phew, this one took a bit to get, sorry for the long wait, I've been very busy with both life, working and recently last month I started to upload a lot more videos on Youtube with that last one still being a work in progress.

All in all, I haven't had the time I used to have in writing, but I'm still doing it. Enough that I redid the first three chapters of Land of Termina and posted them, making some small changes and corrections to the story with more to come.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, I only own Violet Hawke as my OC.

Summary: Violet Hawke wanted nothing more than to be a Bug Pokemon Trainer, but with how people viewed those types all she got was ridicule until the day she bumped into the local Professor. Now on a journey, she tries to make her goal a reality, but with an Organization coming out of the shadows she has to decide just how much she's willing to risk to realize her goal.

Chapter 27: Arrival in Celadon

Violet yawned as they were setting up camp once more, having made a bit more distance since their run in with the Bikers.

Surprisingly Green wasn't planning on having any training sessions due to that mess, instead giving his team the night off.

And it seems that was unusual given how his team exchanged concerned glances at that.

But right now she was focusing on her team, seeing them do their usual things with Stinger and Silk heading out while Parasite dug her way into the ground and Sapphire began to groom herself, though she kept a wary eye on Sandslash and Vulpix all the same showing that she was expecting this 'time off' to be some sort of trick.

Violet found herself concerned about the paranoia that Sapphire seemed to have, but decided to leave her alone for now, wanting her to enjoy her time off, instead she set up her side of the camp, which was really only her sleeping bag.

"What do you do if it rains?" Green's question caught Violet by surprise with the boy glancing over his shoulder while he finished setting up his tent before he paused. "Do you even have a tent?"

"I pay attention to the weather reports and plan from there." Violet answered with a shrug.

"So you have nothing for when it does rain and you're out in the field." Green deadpanned, not surprised at all to hear this.

Violet went to argue before keeping quiet because she couldn't really counter that.

She never needed anything more than a sleeping bag while out and about.

And after that time waking up with a sword to the face courtesy of Samurai, she kept her team out at all times when she slept to avoid being robbed or attacked.

"I like sleeping beneath the stars."

Though she should probably get a tent because she can't get lucky forever.

Green went quiet after that, leaving for Violet to turn her attention to her team before she approached Sapphire who tensed up before the bug catcher sat next to her.

"Don't worry there's no training tonight, you can relax." Violet told the shiny, but she saw that the bug still kept on guard.

It made her sad.

So she looked up at the stars.

"I never wanted to integrate you into the team like this." She spoke to Sapphire who eyed her warily. "While I do want to battle with you eventually, I would rather it be your own choice then forcing you into it, it's just-."

Violet paused, trying to think of how to say this, reaching up to take her hat off and place it in her lap, her fingers tracing the edges of it.

"We have a tendency to end up in trouble every other day, that mess with the bikers wasn't anything too unusual." Violet revealed to Sapphire, the bug now looking more worried. "And everyone needs to be strong if we want to survive."

She then looked over to where Parasite dug herself underground.

"Stinger, Silk and Parasite are very strong, but the people we fight are stronger and I'd rather you know how to fight against them so you can defend yourself."

Sapphire kept quiet, turning away from Violet who stood up to leave after seeing that this was getting nowhere.

Now alone, Green's words from that night Sapphire began her training came to mind.

'Venonat is your weak link right now.'

'Your other bugs are strong, but Venonat will only drag them down if we let this continue and that could lead to her death as well as ours.'

Why was it so hard to understand that she didn't want to battle?!

Then the ground near her shifted as Parasite came out, looking at her.

Sapphire tilted her head at the Mushroom Pokemon, wondering what she wanted.

Parasite said nothing, creeping Sapphire out as the mushroom Pokemon looked at the sky.

It was like that for a few seconds before Parasite finally spoke, asking how she was doing.

That question made Sapphire frown pretty much answering the question.

How else would she feel?

Parasite tilted her head before making another noise, basically telling her that it wasn't so bad.

Now Sapphire was glaring at her.

But Parasite continued, reminding Sapphire that if she wanted to leave she could've done that at any point.

After all, the only ones up at night were Stinger, Silk and Parasite, the three sleeping in intervals to ensure no one snuck up on them.

If Sapphire attempted to leave, none of them would've stopped her.

Yes Violet would've been sad about it, but they would've helped her get through it because if Sapphire left then they weren't going to waste time worrying about her compared to the problems they regularly get into.

Sapphire hesitated, unsure of what to say to that.

A part of Sapphire wanted to argue that the others would stop her, not knowing they wouldn't, but the real truth was because despite everything it was safer then being in the wild.

Sure as a wild Pokemon she was never forced to fight, but she was always on the move to escape predators.

Unlike those times she had food and security here, something that was a rare commodity for her.

Plus despite her distaste for the situation, Violet did protect her from that brute earlier.

Parasite watched her silently contemplate before going back underground having said what she needed.

It was either going to be her or Stinger who spoke to Sapphire and Parasite knew that Stinger would've been much harsher than she was.

The next five days passed with no incident with the two trainers being very close to Celadon and they were very eager to get to the city.

Especially with how dangerously low their supplies were getting.

Thankfully they have run into plenty of other trainers and won enough money to replenish the amount of supplies.

Violet was looking through her Pokedex as they walked, though Green pointedly ignored that part because all it did was remind him about what he lost.

"Still nothing." Violet finally said after a few minutes of messing with the tracking system. "We don't even know if we're heading in the right way."

Or if the Pokedex would be where the Eevee was being kept.

Green gritted his teeth but said nothing.

He didn't even want to contemplate that possibility.

The only reason he kept going on was to save his Eevee.

Nothing else mattered at the moment.

"Not to mention we don't know if Surge or Koga will be there." Violet began to mutter, cupping her chin in thought looking at the Pokedex entries she had for the Pokemon they knew those two Executives had. "If they are then we need to be very careful, especially if Koga uses anymore of those tricks he used on us earlier, at least with Surge we don't have to worry about him using actual weapons with the exception of his knife or the Voltorbs who can use Self-Destruct, and if they're together then it will definitely be the toughest battle of our lives."

It kept going for a few minutes before Green had enough and looked at her.

"Will you be quiet?" He asked, getting a headache from all of the muttering.

Violet gave a start before giving a sheepish smile. "Sorry."

It's been awhile since she's done that.

Putting the Pokedex up, Violet looked up at the sky to see that it was still Noon.

They had to be close to the city by now.

Clasping her hands behind her back as they walked, Violet tilted her head towards Green. "So, what TM's do you plan to get for your team?"

After all, Celadon was the best place to update their Pokemon's movesets.

Especially for her considering how Stinger and Silk can't really learn much else on their own according to the Pokedex.

"I'll decide when I get there." Green answered in a curt tone.

Violet just shook her head with a smile at how he was being.

It seems he wanted to keep some surprises for their next official battle.

So she began to think about what TM's she'll get.

Once they get all of their supplies, she'll only have enough for five TM's at most.

Three at minimum if she wanted to try and get Pinsir at the Game Corner.

Though if they don't find Eevee there then she might not get the chance to get Pinsir.

After all, Green has made it very clear that he wanted to put finding Eevee first above all else, which she completely understood given everything that happened.

Enough that she was willing to wait on getting Pinsir until they got his Pokemon back.

Besides, she can just have Silk teleport them back to Celadon afterwards.

Still, the TM's she chose to get were two Double Teams, Reflect, Swords Dance and Substitute.

All support moves, but they would go perfectly with her team, powering each of them up even more.

She'll come back every now and then once she gets more money to add more TM's to her bugs arsenal overtime.

"Hm?" Green's voice brought Violet out of her thoughts, confusing her until she saw what looked to be a parade of people on the road ahead. "What's going on there?"

Most of the people there seemed to be wearing kimonos as they walked by, though what really caught attention was the Palanquin that was being carried by four members of the parade.

Though it was at a reasonable distance, they could see a young woman with pale skin, short black hair with the bangs cut, an elegant red hairband keeping her hair in place, wearing a white kimono and a purple skirt with a black suspender around her chest.

Seeing that, Green felt on edge. "Erika." He said now knowing what this was.

"Wait really?" Violet asked, not expecting that.

Erika Wisteria was a rather well known figure even if one didn't take her being the Celadon Gym Leader into account.

She's pretty much the closest thing that the Kanto Region has to royalty.

But just like Green, Violet began to feel on edge.

Not a surprise given how they found out that two Gym Leaders were a part of Team Rocket.

They had no idea if there were more Gym Leaders in the group or not.

The only Gym Leaders that Violet actually trusts were Brock and Misty.

"What should we do?" Violet asked, turning to Green who narrowed his eyes in thought.

After a few seconds, he finally answered.

"Nothing, whether she's a part of Team Rocket or not, it seems that we arrived in Celadon during a festival, she'll be too busy to do anything against us and with so many people she won't want to risk her reputation."

It seemed until proven otherwise he was assuming that she was a part of Team Rocket.

Violet had no problems with that.

They waited at a reasonable distance for the crowd to disappear before they continued on their way.

"Whoa." Violet had wide eyes as she looked around Celadon the minute they entered the city.

It was huge, one could fit all of the other places in Kanto in Celadon and still have a lot of room.

And this was the second biggest city in Kanto with Saffron being even bigger.

How could anyone find their way through a place like this?!

Green on the other hand seemed at ease, not too bothered because he had been to Celadon with his Grandfather during one of his talks at the Celadon University.

So he was more familiar with the place then Violet who was having trouble adjusting considering how Viridian was pretty much a small country town.

"Come on." Green called out, heading in the direction of the Pokemon Center, not even waiting to see if Violet was following him.

From the quick footsteps behind however he knew she was.

Thankfully, the Pokemon Center was pretty empty with the exception of a few trainers that were most likely just arriving, as the two handed their Pokemon to Nurse Joy to be healed before sitting in one of the waiting booths.

Green already had the town map pulled out and looked over it. "It'll take some time to comb through the city, but if Eevee is here then I want to find him." He said, planning to look through every nook and cranny. "We'll restock the supplies and get the TM's to give our Pokemon a better fighting chance."

Violet gave a nod agreeing to the plan. "Where should we look?"

Green went quiet at that.

In truth he had no idea.

But with how big the city was, Team Rocket had to have a foothold here, or were they in Saffron?

If it wasn't for the path being closed, they would've gone to Saffron instead.

"Can you detect the Pokedex here?" Green asked, watching as Violet pulled hers out.

After a few seconds she sighed. "Nothing."

So if it was here, then something must be blocking the signal.

Green leaned back. "Of course it's never easy."

Looks like they'll be doing this the old fashioned way.

Before they could continue however, someone passed by the table, but paused at seeing the occupants. "Violet?"

Green tensed up at the unfamiliar figure, but Violet smiled. "Bill!" She exclaimed, not expecting to see the Pokemaniac here. "What are you doing here?"

Not that she wasn't happy to see him, but this was pretty far from Cerulean Cape.

Bill just gave a wry grin. "I got called in to work on some of the PC's, the Pokemon Center here has been having some trouble with them."

Nothing he couldn't handle, but Bill was still unsure of what was causing the PC crashes or why it kept happening.

A concerned look crossed his face before he continued. "I heard about the SS. Anne, sorry you got caught up in that."

He gave her the ticket as thanks so she could have fun.

Hearing about how Team Rocket attacked it made him feel nothing but guilt.

Violet hesitated, her smile nearly disappearing before she forced it. "It's fine, no harm done."

Green almost let out a snort, as if begging to differ.

He remembered Violet getting electrocuted, the two of them being blasted off the ship, nearly freezing to death and the fight against Surge while Articuno fought the genetically enhanced Tentacruel above them.

No harm done his foot.

"That's good." Bill looked a bit better, not seeing through the fake smile Violet put up before he glanced from her to Green. "Sorry for being rude, I'm Bill."

He held his hand out to the boy who gave him a cold stare, making him pull the hand back with an awkward expression.

"Don't worry, Green's like this to everyone." Violet said despite the look Green gave her. "He's my rival."

Hearing that, Bill chuckled. "Ah I see." He didn't look awkward anymore. "I guess you two were discussing having a battle?"

"Something like that." Green said, not trusting Bill in the slightest.

Given how open Violet seemed to be with him, he was being the cautious one here.

"Alright, I can take a hint." Bill's tone conveyed amusement at the conversation. "Just wanted to say hi, good luck on your next Gym Battle Violet."

"Thanks."

The moment he left, Green closed the map up, to put in his bag. "Friend of yours, I presume?"

"Kind of, I only met him once after helping him out of a spot of trouble." Violet answered with a shrug. "He gave me a ticket to the SS. Anne as thanks."

She said nothing about what the trouble was thinking that Green wouldn't believe her about how Bill was turned into a Rattata.

Come to think of it, she's seen some bizarre things on her journey.

"Violet Hawke. Green Oak. Your Pokemon are all healed." The intercom went off, putting an end to their conversation.

It didn't take too long for the two to make it to the Department Store given the sheer size of the building made it easy to spot from anywhere, the two were looking around at the different items they could see.

This store had everything from Full Restores to Ultra Balls to even Max Revives, though plenty of them were unavailable due to the amount of badges they had.

Their Trainer Rank and their number of badges only let them buy items such as Great Balls and Super Potions, items that were much better than the standard Pokeballs and Potions, but weren't as strong as the other items.

Though Green was admittedly a little annoyed when he learned that Violet had four badges instead of three, not knowing that she challenged Blaine.

It was a little infuriating to be behind her when before he was the one in the lead.

The moment he gets Eevee back, he'll have to fix that.

Seeing some evolutionary stones, Green grabbed a Fire Stone for Vulpix and a Leaf Stone for when he catches Exeggcute.

After a moment a thought came to him.

"When we get back to the Pokemon Center, I want to trade Kadabra with you." He said, catching Violet by surprise.

And she knew why he was asking.

Evolution for Pokemon was a rather strange concept, most of them evolve as they get stronger while others require a stone to evolve.

However the strangest one that has baffled many people was the concept of trade evolutions.

Trading Pokemon has become a concept for trainers around thirty years ago where there were some cases where a Pokemon liked a different trainer better and wanted to travel with them.

Or sometimes trainers who became friends would trade to remember each other.

It wasn't one many people liked and it was also difficult because of how the Pokemon were linked to the Pokeballs that were linked to their trainers license.

The only way it worked in the past was by releasing the Pokemon to allow them to be recaptured.

It wasn't until the trading machine was created by Silph Co that trading Pokemon became an instant process.

The process became a hit and before long it was discovered that trading used some sort of energy that envelops the Pokemon, most of the time it's harmless and nothing happens.

But some Pokemon were affected by it with people discovering a new way of evolving their Pokemon.

To this day in Kanto, only four Pokemon were found to be affected by the energy provided by trading.

Machoke, Graveler, Kadabra and Haunter.

Though some trainers had to be careful in who to trust to get these trade evolutions considering how some of them would keep them for themselves.

And she knew that Green having an Alakazam would be a great help against Team Rocket.

More than that, it would make for an exciting battle the next time they face off.

So she grinned. "Sure, I can't wait to see how trade evolution works."

With that deal made, the two continued replenishing their supplies before they moved to the next floor to head for the TM shop, but they actually stopped near the clothing store where Violet blinked in confusion.

Apparently there was a part of the store dedicated to the Elite Four that sold stuff such as copies of Lorelei's glasses to Lance's capes. There were even walking sticks that resembled Agatha's and metal bracelets that matched Bruno's.

And there were also action figures, vhs tapes with various League Matches of the Elite Four and clothing brands in their names.

Quite a few kids were around that area, chatting excitedly about their favorite Elite Four Member.

Though she had to stop herself from chuckling at how strange some of the kids looked as many of them had the capes.

Green just straight out ignored that section, not finding any of that to be useful for the journey ahead.

The sun was starting to set by the time they got back to the Pokemon Center, booking a room for the night as they were going through their supplies.

They currently had a huge pile of Super Potions on the table along with Antidotes, Paralyze Heals, Awakenings and Burn Heals, the two attempting to even them out between each other.

Their Pokemon were currently in their Pokeballs and their Pokemon Food was already packed up in case they needed to get going.

"There." Violet smiled after they finally managed to even the pile out. "I don't need that many Antidotes given how half of my team are part poison."

"I wouldn't risk it, your other two Pokemon are vulnerable and so are we." Green rebuked, reminding her that with Team Rocket they can never be too sure.

After all, they've attacked the trainers themselves more than once in the past.

Violet gave a nod, conceding his point.

As they went through their items, Violet pulled out the TM's she had with her.

Currently the TM's she just bought and the ones she hasn't used were Swords Dance, Bubblebeam, Water Gun, Thunderbolt, two Double Teams, Reflect, Fire Blast and Substitute.

Nine TM's in total.

And four of them were completely useless to her.

Frowning in thought, Violet blinked when she remembered that Green could use these more than her.

"Here." Violet slid Water Gun, Bubblebeam, Thunderbolt and Fire Blast towards a surprised Green. "None of my Pokemon can use these."

"Then sell them." Green told her, not wanting to accept due to some pride.

He didn't need any charity.

Violet rolled her eyes. "How is this any different to you giving me SolarBeam back on Cinnabar?" She asked, earning a bout of silence. "Exactly, this way they're useful and your team are more prepared to take on Team Rocket."

Green kept silent before raising a finger as he dug through his bag.

He eventually pulled out four TM's that he just bought.

Dig, Swift, Dream Eater and Skull Bash.

"We'll trade." Green said, his voice showing no room for arguments. "These TM's I can get again in the future and right now they'll work much better for you."

He already used the Sky Attack TM he bought on his Pidgeot and bought another SolarBeam for Vulpix.

Briefly surprised, Violet gave a nod with a grin.

New moves she could use were always welcome.

With the TM trade now done, she began to get to work on who would learn what.

Sword Dance, one of the Double Teams, Substitute and Skull Bash would go to Stinger.

Reflect, the other Double Team, Dream Eater and Swift would go to Silk.

That just left the remaining Dig TM which she'll keep for the future Pinsir.

Green however made the decision to use Bubble Beam to give his Gyarados some water coverage, saving Water Gun for Cloyster, he used Fire Blast and SolarBeam for Vulpix and made the decision to use his Thunderbolt for Magnemite.

Though none of their Pokemon would be able to use the moves well without extra training but they now knew them.

"We'll train them up tomorrow before we comb the city." Green said, wanting to at least get a start in mastering these new moves before they attempt to go after Team Rocket. "But first we have one more thing to take care of."

He pulled out Kadabra's Pokeball with Violet giving a nod, pulling Parasect's out.

"Let's get it done."

Thankfully no one was using the trading machine at the moment, leaving for both Violet and Green to easily use it, placing their respective Pokemon on the machine before Green pulled the lever.

Lights flashed as energy enveloped the Pokeballs, the screen on the machine showing the trade happening as the Pokemon swapped Pokeballs before dying down.

It took a split second before the Pokeball containing Kadabra glowed a bright white signifying the evolution.

Once the light show was finished, Green wasted no time in using the machine again to trade back.

With the trade done, Green sent his newly evolved Alakazam out, watching as the Psychic type stood still, getting used to his newly heightened psychic powers as he could sense so many minds within the city before blinking as something seemed to be blocking it.

The block catching his complete attention, Alakazam focused, the temporary energy gained from just evolving made it simple to break through before it heard the tortured cries of various Pokemon.

But one stood out to it.

Eyes widening, Alakazam staggered back as he heard Eevee's pained cries, catching Green by surprise.

"Alakazam?" Green asked, wondering if he was experiencing a side effect of evolution.

Shaking his head, Alakazam focused and injected what he just experienced into Green's mind, making him stiffen up.

"You found Eevee?"

Alakazam gave a nod, watching as Green's face contorted into fury.

As relieved as he was that they found him, hearing the pained cries only enraged him.

Forget the plans they made. They were getting Eevee back now.

Surprised by this new development, Violet took a deep breath to calm the nerves that were threatening to erupt.

This was it.

For the first time in her journey, she was about to attack Team Rocket head on instead of just defending herself.

Once she does this, there will be no going back and no doubt they'll increase their attempts to kill her.

It would be the equivalent of kicking a Beedrill nest.

But she wasn't going to back out now.

She was done with being the victim.

Here we are the chapter right before the fight at the Game Corner against Team Rocket and hopefully this chapter did well to set things up.

Not only do Violet and Green finally make it to Celadon, but they updated their movesets immensely with Stinger and Silk learning a ton of moves, though they need to train to use them effectively.

As for Parasite and Sapphire, well Parasite has plenty of moves already and always got the TM's whenever Violet had one. Sapphire still isn't listening to Violet so she's not going to waste any TM's on her yet along with the fact that Sapphire can learn moves naturally still compared to the others.

More than that, Green got the TM's that Violet can't use which resulted in her getting more for her team, effectively making them both stronger for the fights to come.

Then we had Green's Kadabra evolve, giving them even more power to use and giving them a way to actually find Eevee because I doubt the two would think to look inside the Game Corner on their own.

In my opinion, Pokemon get a boost of energy upon evolving as I've shown when Pidgeotto evolved into Pidgeot in Lavender Tower, so the same thing happened to Alakazam who with that boost was able to locate the Team Rocket hideout that is normally hidden from psychics and zeroing in on the one familiar thing inside said hide-out.

Now the two are ready to storm the Rocket Base, that chapter will be a long one because I'm not planning on splitting it into parts.

However, truth be told it would be smarter if they called the Police, or Professor Oak who could round up the Elite Four for this, especially with Giovanni there they have a chance to end Team Rocket then and there, but there are several reasons why.

First off, they're ten.

No matter how mature they are for ten year olds, they can make stupid decisions, this being one of them.

Secondly, Green is enraged by Team Rocket and isn't thinking clearly along with Violet having so much experience with them and due to having two Gym Leaders who work with the Police being executives, she isn't sure who to trust with that information, well that and she's tired of being hunted by them so she's choosing to fight back for once.

Oh and the talk with Bill will develop into something else after the Game Corner incident along with the 'Festival' that Green mentioned earlier, just something to look forward to.

Alright, that's enough talk, let's get the reviews out of the way.

RonaldM40196867: No problem, yea the information on Chuck does need some work, but that'll come into play when I eventually reach the Johto Arc. That's a tough question to answer because Digimon is amazing in its own right and I love playing their games. But Pokemon is definitely making a comeback, especially if Legends Arceus is a hit. I would say that Paul is my favorite because of how different he was from Ash and he was this constant rival that Ash had to work his whole journey through Sinnoh to overcome.

Pokemonking0924: That's to be expected given how they went from being rivals that annoyed each other to fighting alongside each other against the Pokemon Equivalent of the Mafia, but they're getting better the more they travel together, enough that they make sure the other is strong enough for whatever's coming.

Kunoichi69: Yeah, it's going as well as it could with everything happening along with the amount of time they have. And they do make a good team when push comes to shove, something I wanted to show with the Kanto Pokemon Federation (AKA The Bikers).

Big Eater: No kidding, Shiny Pokemon are extremely hard to find, I only found three in the actual game and I've been playing Pokemon for twenty-three years, not counting the Red Gyarados… Man, I feel old. The experience with the Bikers did teach her to be more careful about that though.

Zapking5: I know what you mean, it's a thing in the Manga and Anime too, but it's not that black and white thankfully because as much as Sapphire doesn't want to fight she does see some benefits as stated in the beginning of the chapter. She'll come around to her own accord at some point, but not right now.

Freddie4153: Thank you, it's been a lot of fun typing this story the last two years.

LuxBeacon: That was exactly what I was going for with how they have two different methods, neither of them being right or wrong. Both have benefits and negatives with the two acknowledging it. And their time traveling together while not getting rid of all the issues, made them more likely to meld well together when push comes to shove. Next chapter however is the big test on how well they mesh.

Guest16: It's free for anyone who wants to work on it.

Li-Ion89: I know what you mean, I had a ton of fun doing a bug run in Fire Red and Ultra Sun, I need to do one for Soul Silver and for Sword at some point.

Matron: Man I would love to read a story like that, sadly I doubt I would have the time to write it, especially with me focusing on the stories I already do have along with my Youtube Channel that I'm getting off the ground. But the possibilities of that story are enormous and I hope someone does take up the challenge.
