Chapter 125: The Light Of Hope...

Atem took a deep breath as the Pharoah turned his eyes toward yet another empty platform on the upper left to the position he was currently in. As expected, the statues of the Card Reapers also inched toward their chosen destination as he and Yugi both landed upon it. Both of them couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. "So Far So Good..." the scarlet-eyed male murmured. "Now If We Can Just Keep This Up, We Should Reach The Other Side In No Time." Atem mused before he began to look for the next platform to move to.

"...Perhaps I'll Try That One Next..." The Pharoah murmured before he went on ahead and leaped onto the platform that was diagonal to one of the platforms which carried the symbol of an eclipsed Sun. Afterward, Atem continued to move ahead at least four more platforms."HEY! NOT SO FAST ATEM!" Yugi cried as he moved to catch up to his other half. Afterward, The Pharoah paused as he turned toward his guardian. "My Apologies Yugi." Atem began. "I Suppose I Was So Preoccupied With Finding The Correct Path Forward I Didn't Realise I'd Left You Behind While Doing So." The Pharoah apologized. Unfortunately, The Pharoah couldn't see the unintended consequences of his decision as Atem was rewarded with a sharpened scythe coming in his direction.

"ATEM! WATCH OUT!"Yugi let out a blood-curtailing scream at the top of his lungs as he just barely managed to get there in time. Atem paused before he turned around as he saw the scarlet-eyed male get behind him. Yugi reached out his hand in front of him in order to stop the scythe from striking down The Pharoah. "YUGI!" Atem cried out in return before something completely unexpected happened. The scarlet-eyed male's body was illuminated with a brilliant golden glow as a shield created from the Sun's pure light and Sunstone manifested into Yugi's hands. Quickly, the scarlet-eyed male pushed The Pharoah out of harm's way just before the blood-crystal scythe clashed against the Shield Of Light.

"UGHHHHHHHH!" Yugi cried out as he stood his ground as the scythe fought against the shield. Atem could only watch from under the protection of the shield as he witnessed the scarlet-eyed male push back the scythe with all his strength. (I WILL NOT LET YOU TOUCH HIM!)Yugi cried within before he managed to fend off the statue. "...Yugi...You..." The Pharoah just stared at his other half in disbelief before the scarlet-eyed male turned slowly towards Atem and held out his hand nearly out of breath.

"There You See, This Time, I'll Protect You..." Yugi huffed as he held out his hand towards The Pharoah with an exhausted smile. Atem gently shook his other half's hand before the scarlet-eyed male grasped The Pharoah's hand tightly and pulled him back up to his feet. It took a moment before Atem was finally able to find his voice. "Yes, But You Only Had To Because I Became Over Confident...Not To Mention Careless..." The Pharoah let out a soft sigh. "I Just Wanted To Get Us Both Out Of This Dangerous Place As Quickly As Possible..." Atem confessed. But Yugi only offered a smile in return.

"You And Me Both. But No One Said This Was Safe Atem. It's Just Like When We Had To Place Our Lives On The Line When We Went Up Against Dartz And the Orichalcos." the scarlet-eyed male began. "Yes, With Stakes That High, Mistakes Were Made But Each Of Us Learned From Our Mistakes And Continued Fighting. You Most Of All Learned That Even Darkness Can Be Turned To Light. Only This Time, You Have Me Here With You. It's Not Just Me Either. Everyone Is With Us." Yugi assured The Pharoah.

"...You've Grown Stronger Yugi..." Atem murmured as Yugi paused a moment in silence. "Even After You Surpassed Me During Our Final Duel...As Time Separated Us...You Continue To Move Ahead...For Now, It Seems Like I Am The One Trying Desperately To Catch Up To You For All The Time We Lost..." The Pharoah admitted as his smile reflected both sadness and happiness. Afterward, Atem motioned for his other half to continue as he jumped to the platform left to him before the scarlet-eyed male followed his lead.

(And Now That You're Here With Me...I Won't Allow Myself To Make The Same Mistake Twice...This Time...Your Back Won't Face Me...And My Back Won't Face You...Neither Of Us Will Leave Behind The Other Ever Again...)

Without hesitation, Yugi raced with all his might to catch up to Atem as he went a few platforms ahead, only this time he paid much more attention to the movement of the statues. But, just as The Pharoah turned his head to look behind him, the scarlet-eyed male landed beside him and grabbed Atem's hand in his hand firmly. With his resolve burned into his heart and mind, Yugi pulled The Pharoah towards him.

Atem's eyes widened as he found himself caught completely off his guard as the scarlet-eyed male's lips locked forcefully with his own. The Pharoah's mind nearly broke as Atem's face turned bright red before The Pharoah received a flick on his forehead from his other half. "Geesh Atem! Didn't I Tell You NOT To Run Too Far Ahead Of Me!?" Yugi scolded The Pharoah as he blushed madly and rubbed his forehead slightly. "Well, I Didn't Really...Truth Be Told I Only Moved But A Few Spaces...Otherwise tracking the statue's movement becomes a great deal more difficult..." Atem mused.

Yugi only made a face in response before it was the scarlet-eyed male's turn to turn three shades of red. He must've been so preoccupied with his thoughts that he failed to realize the reality of the situation. (Just Great! I Feel Really Stupid! I Can't Even Look At Atem Right Now!) "O-Oh Well Ok Then, Let's Just Move On Ahead Shall We?" Yugi suggested as he lept on several platforms without thinking clearly as he tried to fight back the massive blush on his face.

"YUGI WAIT!" The Pharoah called as he reached out his hand before Atem attempted to follow after him. But his other half was moving way too fast for him to catch up. (I Don't Know Why...But I Have A Bad Feeling About This...)The Pharoah confessed within. "...I Wonder What Possessed Yugi To Take Off On Me In The First Place...The Guardian Should Practice What They Preach If I'm Not Mistaken..." Atem mused. "Or Perhaps...It Is Not Only I Whom Is Being Tested..." As That thought crossed The Pharoah's mind, he turned his gaze ahead toward his other half who seemed to have finally stopped moving.

"T-There...Hopefully, I'm Far Enough Away Where Atem Can't See My Face..." Yugi took a moment to catch his breath. "I Got Myself All Worked Up For What? Two Spaces? I Have No Idea What Came Over Me..." the scarlet-eyed male shook his head in conflict. "In That Moment...Something Just Sparked...A Fear...Of Losing Him Again..." Yugi murmured as he felt his body shake as he took another step forward. All of the colors vanished upon the scarlet-eyed male's face as his foot suddenly began to give way.

"ANOTHER TRAP!" The Pharoah gasped as his other half was caught in almost a daze. It was only then that Atem's voice echoed through his ears. "YUGI!" the guardian heard his name before The Pharoah raced over and grabbed the scarlet-eyed male as the platform began to fall. With all of his might, Atem jumped onto another platform as the previous one fell onto the spikes of blood crystal below. Yugi could feel his heart pound in his chest as he watched the panel shatter before his very eyes. Afterward, The scarlet-eyed male paused as The Pharoah held him tightly in his arms.

"Thank The Phoenix You're Safe...Yugi..." Atem murmured as he released a breath of relief before he gently pressed his lips to the scarlet-eyed male's forehead. But Yugi only cracked a saddened smile. "Yeah...But THIS Time...It Was YOU That Did The Saving...When It Should Really Be The Other Way Around...I Am The Guardian After All..." the scarlet-eyed male pointed out before The Pharoah only smiled. So that's why Yugi was acting so strange.

"Yes, But, Protecting And Saving Someone...Isn't Always About Guarding Or Fighting For Them...Your Words Alone Have Saved Me More Times Than I Could Possibly Count ...And Continue On Doing So...It Is Your Kindness and Your Belief In Those That Others Have Cast Aside...Which Makes You Strong Yugi...You Don't Have To Pretend To Be Something You're Not...It's Alright To Just Be Yourself...That's All I Want You To Be...Because That's Who I Fell In Love With..." Atem assured the scarlet-eyed male who only hugged The Pharoah tightly in response.

"...But The Reason I Want To Be Strong In The First Place...Is So That I Can Protect YOU From Having To Protect Me...I Don't Want To Lose You To My Weakness...Not Again...Not Ever Again Atem..." Yugi confessed as tears fell down his face shaking his head. Atem was silent for a moment before he finally spoke up. "Do You Want To Know A Secret Yugi?" The Pharoah questioned as the scarlet-eyed male paused as he lifted up his head while tears streamed down his face.

"The Source Of My Strength Doesn't Come From Shadow Magic, The Egyptian God Cards...The Millennium Puzzle or Even My Egyptian Heritage...It's You Yugi...You Are Where I Draw My Strength From...Your Encouragement Helps Me To Continue Going...No Matter How Difficult Or Frighting The Challenge..." Atem confessed as Yugi only stared in disbelief. "Now It's Your Turn, Where Is It You Draw Your Source Of Strength Yugi?" The Pharoah inquired before the scarlet-eyed male's frown transformed into a pout.

"Aw! That's Not Fair! You Did That On Purpose Didn't You!? You Already Know What My Answer Is Gonna Be!" Yugi whined as The Pharoah only grinned. "I...Want...To...Hear...You...Say...It..." Atem teased his other half. "Nope! Never! Not In A Million Gazillion Years!" the scarlet-eyed male protested. "Oh No?" The Pharoah chuckled before he nibbled lightly on Yugi's left ear. "Gahhhh! Ahahaha...That T-Tickles...S-Stop! ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! YOU ATEM IT'S YOU AND MY FRIENDS!" the scarlet-eyed male cried as he turned as red as a cherry twice over.

Atem released Yugi's ear before his other half hid in his face in his hands. "Are You Happy Now...?" the scarlet-eyed male groaned as The Pharoah only smiled in triumph. Atem couldn't help but let a chuckle escape from his lips. "Now, That, You Are Your Self Again, I Am..." Atem confessed. "You See, Yugi The Reason We Succeed Is Because Of The Powerful Bond We Share...It Doesn't Matter Whether I Save You Or You Save Me...We Each Support The Other In Times Of Peril Or Need..."It Is, Our Love For Eachother Makes Us Strong Enough To Overcome Anything..."

"...I Realized That All Over Again When You Found Me In This Place...I Need You...Without You...I Have No Purpose For Existing In This Time and Place...As Long As You Remain...So Shall I..." The Pharoah declared to Yugi. "Then I'm Going To Fight For The Both Of Us...You And I Who Know The Pain Of Losing Someone You Cherish In Life And Death...And Those Who Are Separated In Life Right Now By death..." The scarlet-eyed male murmured as he tried to wipe the remnants of tears in his eyes.

"Yes, And We Can Start By Finishing This Part Of The Trial, Take a Look..."Atem pointed out as Yugi lifted up his head he saw through his tear-stained eyes that they were at the end of the trap. In an instant, the scarlet-eyed male's face lit up. "Hey! We're Almost At The End! We Made It Across! Just One More To Go!" Yugi exclaimed before The Pharoah helped his other half rise to his feet.

"Next Part Of The Test! Here We Come!" the scarlet-eyed male cheered before Yugi and Atem shared a nod as they each took their hand in the other. With a tight yet reassuring squeeze, the two of them reached the last platform. As their feet made contact with the final panel a pressure plate gave way unexpectedly as the entire room began to shake violently. "You Were Saying!?" Yugi cried out as he held onto The Pharoah while Atem in turn held onto the scarlet-eyed male. Quickly, The Pharoah looked around for somewhere they could jump to before something gradually emerged from the pathway forward.

"Wait Yugi, I See Something!" Atem exclaimed as a giant goblet rose up from the floor. The chalice was made up of obsidian and white with blood-red gemstones that decorated it. Within the goblet, however, emanated a darkened aura that seeped out of it. The flames that coated the chalice were pitch black which resembled shadows that were dangerously on the verge of overflowing as The Pharoah and the scarlet-eyed male couldn't seem to remove their gaze from its presence. Both Atem and Yugi held their breath as each of them took another step forward.

It was a costly mistake, as The Pharoah and the scarlet-eyed male seemed to have incurred the goblet's wrath unto them as its flames shot out with an uncontrollable rage. The entire area around them trembled with anger as the dark fire erupted in between the platforms one after another. Both Atem and Yugi held their ground as they were shaken violently. "Whatever It Is! I Think It's Safe To Say We Made It Mad!" the scarlet-eyed male cried as he attempted not to bite his tongue off in the process. The Pharoah's eyes however widened in horror as he watched the pitch-black flames gather together.

"It's Far Worse Than That Yugi! Take A Good Look At The Dark Flames! They're Melding Together!" Atem cried out in return as Yugi's face nearly turned a ghostly white. Both of them could do nothing but watch as the dark fire collected and manifested into the figure of A Much More Sinister Card Reaper. For clutched in its pitch-black hands was a scythe to match its enormous body that was created completely out of blood crystal. With the other hand, the Card Reaper stretched out its fleshless fingers and pointed toward both of them.

A shower of needles from its fingers made out of bone rained down upon The Pharoah and The Scarlet-Eyed Male. Immediately, Yugi summoned his Sun Shield and got in front of Atem in order to shield him from the relentless storm of bone needles. "Are You Alright!?" the scarlet-eyed male questioned as he turned towards his other half. "Yes, I Think So, Now it's My Turn To Help Yo-" The Pharoah suddenly paused as he noticed something was wrong. "Uh Oh...Something's Wrong...I...Can't Move..." Atem muttered. "How Is That Possible!?" Yugi questioned worriedly before something caught his eye.

"It's One Of Those Needles...it's sticking up and pinned to your shadow...could IT be responsible?" The scarlet-eyed male questioned as The Pharoah narrowed his eyes. "Damn it...A Shadow Snap Spell...That Shower Of Needles Was Just A Distraction..." Atem hissed. "Then it's up to me!" Yugi proclaimed and reached out towards the finger of bone. The scarlet-eyed male tightened his grip around it before he pulled at it with all of his might. It was only then that The Pharoah watched the Card Reaper gradually lift up its scythe.

Even so, Yugi refused to back down as he was fueled with all the more determination. Atem however couldn't stand the thought of possibly losing Yugi and screamed at him at the top of his lungs. "STOP YUGI! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! OTHERWISE, YOU'LL BE STRUCK DOWN TOO!"The Pharoah cried out. "NO! I WON"T! THERE'S JUST NO WAY I CAN DO THAT ATEM!" cried back as he ignored his other half's pleas.

"If We're Destined To Face Death Together...Then So Be...It...I'M NOT GOING TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND ANYMORE! AND YOU"RE NOT GONNA LEAVE ME EITHER! YOU HEAR ME ATEM!?"Yugi screamed as tears flew down his face as he released the bone needle and ran in front of The Pharoah and the scythe. With all of the power the scarlet-eyed male had in his body, he summoned his Sun Shield and held it out in front of him.

"IF YOU WANT HIM! THEN YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME!" Yugi screamed at the Card Reaper as the emblem of Sun manifested upon Yugi's forehead with an intense yet bright gleam of light. It was an all-out battle of will as the swing of the scythe brought forth with it a storm of black fire that clashed against The Sun Shield. "YUGI!" Atem cried out worriedly as he watched his other half dig his feet into the platform's stone while he protected him with all of his might.

The Pharoah's eyes widened as he witnessed the scarlet-eyed male's iris turn a dark blue and his hair almost completely golden with its highlights a dark blue as well. But that wasn't all, as suddenly, a blinding golden light from the center of the shield awoke and ignited into brilliant gold flames which manifested into a large phoenix. As one he had seen before. The creature of gold flew right in between the blade and shield before The Phoenix thrust the dark flames right back at The Card Reaper. In an instant, the golden fire shattered the figure of death and banished the darkness that came with it.

A rain of golden light bathed the area which gradually dispelled the shadow binding Atem had been ensnared in as he quickly hurried over to Yugi's side. The Blue-Eyed male turned towards The Pharoah With A fatigued smile as the Sun Shield gradually dissipated. Atem couldn't help but smile at his other half before he watched as Yugi's knees began to give way. "YUGI!" the Pharoah cried out as he quickly caught the blue-eyed male in time.

"...I'm Ok...Look..." Yugi assured Atem as he breathed exhaustedly before The Pharoah turned his gaze in The blue-eyed male's direction upwards. Both The Pharoah and Yugi silently watched the golden light shower covering the field as The Phoenix purified the tainted chalice and restored it to its original form of gold and emeralds. But that wasn't all either, as The Phoenix took its place on top of the goblet which now burned with The Sacred Flame Of The Sun once more.

"It's Breath Taking..." Atem admitted before The Phoenix bent its head down and peered into the chalice. Both The Pharoah and Yugi watched as the creature of gold pulled something up and out of the goblet. It was a lantern. A beautiful golden lantern covered in jewels that The Phoenix was holding in its beak before it removed the lantern with its talon. As The Phoenix lifted up its wings, the golden flames were gradually drawn into the lantern. It gave off a slight reflection of a rainbow as the lantern glowed brightly as it took into it the Sacred Flames Of The Sun. Once it was finished, the jeweled lantern finally sealed itself shut.

"Go Ahead And Take It, You'll Need It For The Next Trial..." Yugi murmured as he fought to retain his consciousness. Atem however seemed unsure as he looked towards the blue-eyed male and the lantern. Slowly, The Pharoah eased himself up and onto his feet before he gently grabbed and removed the lantern from the chalice. As Atem held it in his hands, he could almost feel the power of this incredible object along with a deep and vast warmth. Once The Pharoah returned to Yugi's side, the blue-eyed male smiled.

"Now...Do You Have...To Ask...Where do I Get My Strength From...?" the blue-eyed male asked almost in a whisper. But The Pharoah only smiled and shook his head with a chuckle." No." he murmured as Atem helped his other half to his feet. Afterward, The Pharoah pressed his lips against Yugi in a deep and tender kiss. The blue-eyed male didn't even have the strength to object to Atem's affections. Not that he ever would as he returned The Pharoah's kiss as he felt Atem's tightened embrace. As Yugi made some noises of slight discomfort, Atem finally broke the kiss.

"Good...And Now That That's Settled...Onto Face The Next Trial Together..." Yugi murmured before he leaned towards Atem. However, as Yugi went in for another kiss, he missed and fell forward. A panicked gasp slipped from The Pharoah's lips as he quickly caught him in his arms. "Yugi!?" Atem almost immediately cried out before he noticed that his other half had been rendered unconscious. The Pharoah couldn't help but let out a softened sigh of relief once he realized he was still breathing and his heart beating strongly.

"Other Than A Few Burns...He's Alright..." Atem murmured softly as he held the blue-eyed male in his arms close to him. "Yugi Must've Used Up All Of His Energy When He Released That Hidden Power Inside Of Him...Even His Hair and Eyes Changed While He Did So..." The Pharoah observed as he found his eyes drawn towards the Sun crest on Yugi's forehead. It was only then unexpectedly, that the lantern within Atem's possession, shot out a golden glittery fire. The golden flames suddenly carved out a portal in the shape of The Sun right below both The Pharoah and Yugi before in a brilliant glow they were pulled into it.

Meanwhile...

"YUGI!" A Voice called out to him. (Atem...?) Yugi questioned within his unconscious state of mind. (No...It's Not Him...But It Sounds Familiar...)"YUGI! ANSWER ME!" The voice continued before Loore was revealed hovering over the scarlet-eyed male as she nudged Yugi whom was rendered unconscious. "SOMEONE HELP!" she cried desperately. It was only then that Kaiba ceased pacing as he heard the familiar's cries from nearby. The CEO could feel his annoyance grow before he turned toward the source of the noise. "UGH! Will You Keep It Down Please?! Things Are Already Tense Enough Without You Screaming Your Head Off Loor-" Kaiba immediately brought his words to halt as he noticed Yugi laying beside the familiar.

"YUGI!" A sharpened gasp escaped The CEO as he rushed over being the closest and dropped down to his rival's side. After, Kaiba dropped down to his knees and lifted Yugi up slightly before he took two of his left fingers and pressed them to the scarlet-eyed male's neck. "Good, His Vitals Seem To Be Normal At Least..." The CEO noted before he pressed his ear to Yugi's mouth. "Breathing Is Fine..." Kaiba murmured. "So What's Wrong With Him!?" The CEO yelled as he turned towards Loore. But the familiar only shook her head.

"I-I Don't Know! One Moment He Was Broading And Then The Sun Pendant Around His Neck Lit Up! And Once It Faded I Found Him Like This!" Loore cried out upset as Kaiba growled and grabbed Yugi by the collar of his shirt. "DAMN IT ALL! GET UP YUGI! AND DO IT RIGHT NOW!"the CEO yelled as he began to shake his unconscious rival whom seemed to have been rendered motionless. Unfortunately, his sudden outburst attracted the attention of the others who were further away.

"Seto! I Heard Screaming! What's Wrong!?" Bloom called out as she hurried over to her fiance. However, the faerie soon saw for herself why Kaiba was drawn into a panic. "YUGI!" Bloom let out a horrified gasp as Duke was right behind her. "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?" the dice master cried out next as Noah followed behind the both of them. "Try Yelling Louder Then Maybe You'll Actually Get An Answer," Noah remarked sarcastically. "SOMEBODY JUST DO SOMETHING!" Loore spat as her fur started standing up getting mad now.

"THIS ISN'T FUNNY! WAKE UP YUGI! BEFORE I MAKE YOU! DO YOU HEAR ME!?" Kaiba yelled as he shook his rival uncontrollably. "Seto! Be Careful! You're Going To Break His Neck Before You Wake Him Up!" Boom cried out as she saw the fear and terror in her fiance's eyes. "...Then What Am I Supposed To Do?..." The CEO questioned as his voice slightly trembled while his hair covered his face. "First Atem...Now Yugi...What's Next...?" Kaiba asked more to himself than anyone else before suddenly the pendant around The CEO's neck suddenly began to illuminate as well as it gave off a bright blue light.

"GAH! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?"Kaiba questioned before Loore's eyes widened in a mixture of shock and fear. "THAT'S IT! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO YUGI BEFORE HE FELL UNCONSCIOUS!" the familiar cried out in a panic before they all turned towards Loore at the same time. "WHAT!?" a collection of voices cried before the CEO felt like something was pulling his spirit from his body. "SETO!" Bloom screamed out to Kaiba before everything went dark. It was only then that he found himself floating in an ocean of stars.

"...I Must Be Hallucinating...I Know For A Fact I'm Still In The Thunderlands..." Kaiba muttered before he looked onward to see a cluster of stars that resembled a figure he knew well. It was the constellation of a blue eyes white dragon that seemed to be coming to life before the CEO's very eyes. "Blue Eyes?" Kaiba questioned before it flew around him. However, suddenly the Blue Eyes White Dragon transfigured into A Snow Owl as The CEO's eyes widened.

"It's That Owl Again..." Kaiba muttered as he recalled the dream which led him to The Temple in Covenant. Then, unexpectedly, The owl attempted to enter his body. Unfortunately, it was repelled by volts of red lightning. "ACK!" the CEO cried out as his left arm started to burn while a sharp pain shot through it. The snow owl shook its head in return. "Damn It All...My Arm Hurts Worse Than The Sting Of Defeat At The Hands Of Both Yugi and Atem Combined...But Why Is It Acting This Way!? It Hasn't Bothered Me Since Raeger Healed It...Or So I Thought..." Kaiba hissed as he held the source of his pain. Afterward, the owl spread its wings and chirped at The CEO distraught.

It was only then that the owl used its beak to peck at the tattoo. But once again it erected some kind of barrier that gave off more red sparks. "DAMN IT THAT FUCKING HURTS! STOP THAT!"The CEO spat as another sharp wave of pain struck him before the owl chirped again angrily as it fluffed up its feathers in protest. As it did so, something clicked within Kaiba's mind. "...Wait A Sec...It's Not Me The Owl Is Directing Its Frustration Towards...It's The Tattoo..." the CEO concluded before he rolled up his sleeve before his eyes widened in shock. Just like before, the tattoo was turning his arm pitch black with sparks that gave off highly negative energy.

"Oh No! Not Again! I'm Seriously Regretting Even Getting This Accursed Thing!" Kaiba spat angrily before he bit down on his lower lip. "...However...If I Hadn't...Then There's No Telling What The Consequences Could Have Been...The Risk Of Refusal Was Far Too Great..." The CEO attempted to reason with himself before he paused as he suddenly heard a voice.

(Actually, The Pact With The Keeper Isn't The Problem In Itself...It Was The Power He Used To Forge The Pact...)

Kaiba heard echo from around him.

(The Power That Sleeps Within You...Is In Confliction With The One Used To Form The Agreement Between You And The Keeper...As Long As The Tattoo Remains...You Won't Be Able To Call Upon It To Help The Child Of The Sun Guide The Pharoah Through The Trial...)

The voice continued as The CEO tried to figure out where the voice was coming from before the words they spoke struck a chord with Kaiba as his expression manifested into both confusion and urgency. "Wait A Sec! Are You Telling Me That I Can Go To Where Atem Is And That Yugi Is There With Him!?" the CEO questioned before he waited for a response. Somehow, Yugi must've been projected into the test without having to go there physically, which would explain why he was rendered unconscious all of a sudden.

(With My Power, Yes, If You Join Yours With Mine I Can Also Project You Into The Trial...But First...The Pact You Preformed Has To Be Undone For Any Of This To Work...)

The voice finally answered Kaiba as he twisted his mouth slightly in response. "Well Then, Get On With It Already, And Tell Me How To Undo What's Been Done." the CEO.

(Hold Out Your Arm...)

The voice instructed before Kaiba did as he was told. Afterward, the owl hopped on top of The CEO's arm and spread its wings wide. As if the owl commanded the space around them, stardust gathered together and was drawn into the creature's wings. After it had collected a sufficient amount for the task ahead, the owl took its wings and wrapped them around Kaiba's arm.

Moonlight wrapped itself tightly around the arm with the tattoo and forged almost a bandage of sorts. Once it concluded its job, the owl released the CEO's arm from its wings. It was then the creature of the night turned towards Kaiba with a slight apologetic gleam in its eyes. "Why Do I Have A Chill Up My Spine From The Look You're Giving Me...?" the CEO questioned. At this point, he must've been gradually going mental for talking to an owl. Afterward, The owl took its talons and dug them into Kaiba's arm as he let out a pained hiss before it grabbed onto the tattoo's outline.

With the tattoo coated in stardust, the owl pulled on the seal hard as the CEO tried to withstand the pain."UGH! DAMN IT ALL!" Kaiba screamed as he tried to endure the torture of the owl and the seal's tug of war until finally, the owl managed to dig out the tattoo attached to the CEO's skin completely. A pained yet relieved gasp escaped Kaiba as he shuddered before The CEO slowly lifted it to look at his restored arm. "...My Arm...It's Back To Normal...It's Not Hurting Anymore Either..." Kaiba observed as he huffed slightly.

(And With That, The NeitherWorld Contract Has Been Severed With The Keeper And The One Who He Serves...Undine...And Now That It's Gone...I Can Release The Seal To Your Hidden Power...And Use My Own To Pick Up Where We Left Off...)

The voice reemerged before the owl released a blue and silverish light and launched itself into The CEO's body. "Wait!? The Owl Is Going Inside Of Me!?" Kaiba let out a surprised gasp before a crescent moon crest manifested on his forehead.

(The Owl Is A Manifestation Of My Spirit...For My Physical Body Is Being Kept Prisoner Elsewhere...)

The voice answered before Kaiba twisted his mouth. "Enough Games, Who Are You And Why Do You Know So Much!? Tell Me!" the CEO demanded before he heard the voice softly echo in his ears as his brown hair began to turn a dark blue and his blue eyes golden.

(I Am A Guardian Of The Moon...Thus...As One Whom Shares The Light Of The Night...I Entrust My Power...And Knowledge To You...Both The Sun And The Moon Are Needed To Complete The Trial...Now Go And Join The Sun To Conquer The Darkness Of Doubt And Despair...)

The voice called out to Kaiba as he began to vanish in light blue flames. Each piece of his body disappeared one after another until left in his place was nothingness.

In The Trial...

After they vanished in a flash of golden light, Atem and Yugi both manifested back where they had started which was in front of both A sealed door with the emblem of A Sun and one with the crest of The Moon. The Pharoah took a moment to get his barrings before he realized where it was they were. "...It Would Seem We're Back At The Entrance Of The Temple..." Atem observed as he looked around with only his eyes before they fell upon his other half whom had yet to awaken. The Pharoah then planted a soft kiss on his other half's forehead.

"Thank You Yugi, Now You Just Go Ahead And Rest While I Try To Figure Out Our Next Move..." Atem murmured before he gently lowered the blue-eyed male to the floor. "...Let's See...We Finished The Trial Of The Sun...Now Must Come The Moon's Test...The Question Is, However...How Do I Open It?" The Pharoah questioned to himself before suddenly the Jeweled Lantern gleamed with a bright glow. It was only then that something occurred to him. "Yes, Of Course, Yugi Did Warn Me That I'd Indeed Need The Lantern For To Undergo The Next Trial...It Had Nearly Slipped My Mind Due To My Concern About His Condition..." Atem recalled.

The Pharoah took a deep breath and walked towards the other door before he directed the jeweled lantern towards the sealed door which bared the crest of The Moon. Once he was right in front of it, Atem pressed the sun gem upon the lantern and by doing so, The Pharoah unleashed a golden flame in the shape of A Phoenix. The Released Phoenix burst forth from the lantern and flew around him. Atem couldn't help but stare in both awe and wonder. Afterward, the golden creature forged from flames flew right into the crest of The Moon.

The golden fire ignited the Lunar flame which began to eat away at the Moon's emblem and turned into sparkling stardust. The stardust gathered together to form a new doorway and with its manifestation, Kaiba's spirit was given form right before The Pharoah's very eyes. The CEO felt strangely light as if he were floating until he was finally given full form. Gradually, Kaiba's feet made contact with the floor while his consciousness began to return to him. It was only then, that The CEO heard a familiar voice call out to him.

"KAIBA?!"Atem let out a surprised gasp as Kaiba slowly lifted up his head to meet his rival's eyes. "...My Mind Must Be Playing Tricks On Me...There's No Way I Could Be-" The CEO paused before his own widened in shock. "Wait!? Is That Really You Atem!?" Kaiba questioned as he began to second guess himself. "...Shit...That Wasn't All A Dream Then...I Really Did End Up Getting Projected Into The Trial..." The CEO muttered as his mind couldn't seem to comprehend what was happening in front of him.

"...Kaiba...Is That Really You...?" The Pharoah couldn't help but ask again. "Would You Like Me To Pinch You to find out?" Kaiba questioned in a sarcastic tone. "Not Particularly..." Atem reported. "But Just How Exactly Did You Get Here?" The Pharoah questioned although he couldn't help but stare slightly at The CEO due to his rather unusual appearance. Atem wondered if Kaiba was even aware of it. "Let's Just Say It All Started When Yugi Suddenly Fell Unconcious Without Warning Or Explanation I And The Others Tried To Get Him To Wake Up..." The CEO began.

"So, When I Tried Harder I Was Next In Line To Get Scouted To Be Some Guardian Or Something...Long Story Short, Someone Wanted Me Here To Help You And I Guess Yugi Had The Same Thing Happen To Him." Kaiba told The Pharoah as he listened. "Of Course, From The Looks Of It...Yugi's Knocked Out Cold Here Too...What Is He Thinking Sleeping On The Job When He's Supposed To Be A Guide For This Test...?!" The CEO scoffed but Atem only frowned. "He's In That Condition Because Of Fulfilling That Role Kaiba... The Last Test Truly Took Its Toll On Him..." The Pharoah corrected.

"Well, It's A Good Thing I'm Here Then, Cuz Like That Yugi's Not Much Good For Anything," Kaiba noted before he made his way over to his rival. However, as he got closer, The CEO noticed something was different about Yugi. It took him and moment before he realized what it was. "...I Thought Something Was Off When I Came Over Here...It's Only Slightly...But Yugi's Hair...Is Blonde...With The Black And Scarlet Highlights Replaced With Dark Blue...Do I Even Want To Know How That Happened...?" Kaiba hesitated asking.

"...Yes Well...Yugi's Appearance shifted when he evoked the new power he was given, one of the Sun...His Eyes Are Actually Blue As Well...And Speaking Of Appearances...Have You Seen That Yours Too Has Also Altered Kaiba...? Or Were You Even Aware?" Atem inquired before The CEO paused for a moment as he narrowed his eyes. "What The Hell Are You Talking About Atem?" Kaiba questioned in return before The Pharoah used the gold plating of the lantern to serve as a mirror and held it up to Kaiba. It was only then a look of horror manifested upon the CEO's face.

"WAIT! MY APPEARANCE HAS CHANGED AS WELL!?" Kaiba nearly exploded. "Yes, That Seems To Be The Case, However, I Wouldn't Worry, Such Transformations Fade After A Time...Yugi's Power Use Was Fairly Recent...But Time Isn't Exactly A Luxury We Have..." Atem pointed out before The CEO crossed his arms and let out an exhausted sigh. "Good Point, We Should Continue On And See What We Can Find..." Kaiba conceded before he carefully took Yugi and hoisted his rival onto his back. The Pharoah only looked towards The CEO and smiled.

"Thank You...I'm Glad You Came When You Did Kaiba." Atem admitted warmly but Kaiba only smiled as he responded with a scoff. "Hmph, Sure You Are...I Know A Lie When I Hear One Atem Believe Me...As If, You Could Be Thrilled That Your Alone Time With Yugi Has Been Intruded Upon." The CEO teased as Atem paused as his face turned red. "...And What Exactly Are You Implying By That?!" The Pharoah questioned. "Oh Please, Everyone Would Have To Be Blind To Not See Your Affections For The Runt..." Kaiba remarked as he rolled his eyes. "So...Just How Far Has The Mighty Pharoah Gotten With With The King Of Games Anyways?" The CEO grinned smugly. "T-That's A Highly Inappropriate Question! Unless Of Course, You're Afraid Of Losing To Me In Romance As Well As In Duel Monsters...Wouldn't Bloom Be Interested In Hearing That..." Atem teased his rival as he playfully stuck out his tongue.

"I SAID NO SUCH THING! DON'T YOU DARE TELL HER THAT ATEM!" Kaiba cried out as it was his face's turn to turn scarlet. The Pharoah only laughed as he teased the CEO in return as they started to walk into the newly created doorway. However, although it slightly helped in lighting up the mood, Kaiba's words did have a bit of a sting to them. Because like it or not, his rival did have a point. There were things The CEO could do that were impossible for him and as that slowly started to sink in, Atem's smile gradually began to slip.

Kaiba could hold Bloom's hand and feel the faerie's warmth, her lips against his, hold her, and feel his own heartbeat against his. But most of all to show her love in a way only he could. But as a spirit, The Pharoah could at most only mimic such forms of affection without the actual touch. However, there were some positive sides to it as well. Like being as close to Yugi as possible and sharing conversations between just the two of them even while surrounded by others. But, those seemed so small compared to what they could share.

The CEO noticed his rival's cheerful demeanor begin to fade. Now was the perfect time to sneak in a few snide remarks as payback. After all, there had to be limits to Atem's relationship considering his predicament. Which meant he held a victory over him in several aspects with Bloom. Yet, as Kaiba opened his mouth to Put The Pharoah in his place, The CEO couldn't bring himself to do it. Not when he was the tormented expression on the face of his rival. Kaiba paused as he took a deep breath before The CEO released it.

"Look, Just Forget About It Alright? To Each His Own. Just Because Bloom and I Do Things Differently Doesn't Automatically Cause Your Relationship With Yugi To Be Any Less Than Ours. Besides, I Highly Doubt Someone As Inexpirenced Yugi Would Know The Difference Between A Corporeal Relationship And Etheral One." Kaiba attempted to encourage his rival instead of kicking him when he was down. Atem only cracked a small smile.

"Kaiba, I Know You're Trying To Cheer Me Up...But You're Unintentionally Rubbing Salt On The Already Opened Wound." The Pharoah pointed out before he paused. "Even So, Thank You Kaiba." Atem smiled in appreciation. "Yeah, Sure Whatever...Let's Just Continue On Ahead..." The CEO muttered as he tried to shake off his embarrassment as he picked up the pace and headed through the darkened corridor. "Very Well." The Pharoah replied before he smiled slightly more. (Thank You Seto...) Atem murmured silently as they continued forward. It didn't take long before they entered a darkened room with a dimly lit light.

"Well, This Was Certainly Unexpected..." The Pharoah began. "The Last Room Was Quite Bright While This Is Exactly The Opposite..." Atem pointed out. "I Can Hardly See Anything At All..." The Pharoah continued. Kaiba was about to speak up before he saw something manifest in his mind. "Wait...All These Images...Are Pouring Into...My Head...Someone...Walking...Going Towards A... Dimly Lit Beacon...And Using The Lantern To Light It..." The CEO muttered as he held his head before his rival's eyes widened.

"A Lantern...?" Atem questioned taken back. "I Didn't Realize That, It Still Had Fire To Use!" The Pharoah confessed before he made his way towards the dimly lit flame and released it as he pressed the Sun gem once more. Suddenly, the flames grew exponentially larger and burned with an immense power that lifted up the veil of shadow. What both Kaiba and Atem witnessed, however, left them almost completely without words. It was only then that Yugi's eyes slowly fluttered open.

Meanwhile...

"SETO! SETO! COME ON WAKE UP!" Bloom cried as she held her fiance in her arms while she gently shook him before the faerie frowned worriedly. "It's No Good...He Won't Wake Up...What About Yugi, Duke?" Bloom questioned before the dice master softly shook his head too. "Nah...Yugi's Still Out Cold." Duke replied simply. "I'm Not Sure Anything You Could Do, Would Have Any Effect Anyways...Not If They've Somehow Been Pulled Into The Test." Noah finally spoke up before she got everyone's attention. "Is That Even Possible?" Loore questioned as she twitched her left ear.

"Honestly I Can't Say Really, But If You Have Another Explination, I'd Love To Hear it." Noah retorted before Bloom frowned softly. "But, I Thought That Only One Person Was Permitted To Undergo The Trial." the faerie argued. "Yeah, No Kidding. Those Two Guys In The Black Hoods Were Pretty Speciffic About That So, I'd Doubt They'd Be Lying To Us." Duke agreed before Noah took a moment to gather her thoughts as she pursed her lips. "Well, While They Said That Only One Person Was Allowed To Actually Take The Test, They Didn't Say That The Others Couldn't Be Used During It." the female mage pointed out.

"Sooo...You're Saying...That Yugi and Kaiba Were Both Pulled Into The Test With Atem... Then?" Loore almost squeaked. "T-Then The Reason They're In This State Is Because Physically They're Here, But...Not...?" Duke questioned. "That Is WAY BEYOND!" Confusing!" The Dice Master groaned as he was ready to pull out his hair before Noah let out a heavy sigh. "It Means That While Their Spirits And Minds Were Projected Into The Trial, Their Bodies, Were Not. Think About It. Atem Is A Spirit. So, It Only Makes Since, That Yugi And Kaiba, Would Have To Take On A Similar Form In Exchange." the female mage explained before Bloom spoke up.

"Actually, I Expirenced Something Similar Once Before, It Was When, I Used My Dragon Fire, To Find Another's That Was Identical To Mine. I Left My Body Behind While I Faught With My Spirit Against Their's." Bloom recalled before suddenly something struck her. "And That's How I'll Find Them!" the faerie proclaimed before gently placed Kaiba and ran over towards the large seemingly bottomless pit. "Uh...I'm Gonna File This Under The Catagory Of NOT GOOD!" Loore exclaimed as Duke imediantly turned towards the Faerie.

"BLOOM! GET BACK HERE! IT'S TOO DANGEROUS!" the dice master called out to Bloom. "It's No Use, Talking Me Out Of It Duke! I'm Going And That's Final! I Am Going To Find Seto And Yugi!" the faerie replied. "OH HELL NO! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND BLOOM!? You Have No Idea What Is Waiting Down There!" Noah practically screamed at Bloom. Even so, The Faerie ignored everyone's pleas before she gathered a bunch of colored fire from her body and projected it out of her body in the shape of A Phoenix. The others could only watch as Bloom fell backwards as she too joined the others.

The faerie in her Phoenix form flew through the darkened pit, unfortunatly, Bloom hadn't realised just how dangerous treading the waters of uncertainty would prove to be, as the faerie's spirit suddenly clashed with a molevolent aura. Bloom's entire being felt like it was on fire. Those that were the oposite of her healing flames. The faerie found herself, suddenly, surrounded by a bright red mist, before, blood crystal chains shot up from beyond them. "It's Those Chains! The Same Ones That Grabbed Atem!" Bloom cried as she tried to both dodge and outrun them. But it was no use, as soon both her arms and legs were ensnared.

"UGHHHHHNNNN!" The faerie screamed as Bloom faught against their hold before a gasp escaped through her lips. "The Blood Crystal! It's Trying To Encase Me!" the faerie cried as the blood crystal chains began to form a thickened form of blood crystal one each part of her body. "WINX CELESTIX!" Bloom called out as she transformed and summoned all the rainbow fire she possibly could to shield her body. But for the faerie, it seemed like an almost hopeless fight. Something, was trying to dim the power of her flames.

"ERRRR COME ON! I-It's No Use..Something Is Trying To Drain My Powers...In Fact...I Feel Someone Watching Me...It's Such A Dark And Chilling Aura..." Bloom shivered as she was starting to lose more and more of her power. "...W-Who Could It...Possibly Be...?" the Faerie questioned before a loud roar pierced the silence as her heart began to pound in her chest. "WHAT IS THAT!?" Bloom questioned as she attempted to continue her struggle against the force attempting to stop her.

But, as she lowered her gaze, a much more horrifying prospect, awaited the faerie. Through the red smoke, there were mountains of blood crystal, that seeped out, a crimson fluid. Below it, was a blood crystal dragon which stared Bloom in the face. One that took no prisoners. The Beast, summoned an erruption of boiling blood as it opened its mouth and targeted the faerie. "Oh No! I Won't Be Able To Dodge It!" Bloom cried out before another loud roar echoed in the distance. The Faerie suddenly paused before she saw a Blue-Eyes White Dragon tear through the blood red mist.

"A Blue-Eyes White Dragon!?" Bloom let out a surprised gasp, as it flew towards the faerie. With it's mighty jaws, The Blue-Eyes White Dragon, broke through the blood crystal chains and shattered the rest that had begun to creep up Bloom's body. Afterwards, the faerie lept onto The Blue-Eyes Dragon's Back and headed towards the source of the dark presence she felt. But the fight was far from over, as blood crystals sphere's with molton blood, were hurled in her direction, by the Blood Crystal Dragon.

It was Dragon Against Dragon, In An Epic Battle, as the Blue-Eyes faught back with it's white lightning attack, in order to protect Bloom. Each attack, clashed with the others as it created blue and red sparks in the sky. And with each attack, it soon formed into an all out war, as hundreds of molton blood comets, rained down through the sky. "That's NOT Good!" the faerie cried. "We're Going To Have To Converge Our Powers Blue-Eyes! Ready For This!?" Bloom questioned before Seto's favorite monster let out a mighty battle cry of approval. "ALRIGHT! THEN LET'S DO THIS BLUE-EYES!"the faerie exclaimed before they both shot up high unto the air.

Bloom summoned her rainbow flames, to cover each and every part of her body, before she manifested them, into a giant phoenix, and extended it outwards, as she spread out her arms. In return, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon cloaked itself, in blue flames that tookt, the shape of a dragon. From afar, it looked as if A Phoenix, was riding a Lunar Dragon. Once they got high enough, The Blue-Eyes ceased its flight and instead turned towards the onslaught of meteors coming right towards them. As Bloom urged it onwards, The Blue-Eyes White Dragon, flew the faerie, right in front, of the area of effect.

"Not Yet!" Bloom exclaimed as the meteors hurled towards them were getting closer and closer. "Hold It..." The faerie continued before she could almost feel the heat of the boiling blood which guided their furious velocity. "...Just A Bit More..." Bloom held her ground as they were nearly in range. "NOW! LET IT GO!" the faerie gave the command before with a mighty thrust, The Blue Eyes White Dragon, thrusted its wings with a mighty force, while Bloom mimicked the actions with her arms. An enormous wave of rainbow flames that were shaped like A Phoenix, rode a dragon that was just as large, if not more, which was made of lunar flames.

Once it was released, the faerie split the large, creatures of flame, for thousands of small versions of, both The Blue Eyes and The Phoenix. Each burst forth, with a massive amount of power, upon impact. But, as its force was met with resistance, Black flames, suddenly manifested and created a wall of fire, to prevent Bloom and The Blue-Eyes Attacks. Whatever it was, sent shivers down the faerie's spine. "Shit...We Need To Break Through This Flames!" Bloom cursed, before, The Blue Eyes White dragon, sucked in the few remants of her rainbow and its lunar flame into its mouth. By combining each of them, The Blue Eyes, opened his mouth, to reveal a large, rainbow crystal blade.

"That! Is Awesome! Time To Fight Fire WITH Fire!" the faerie exclaimed and unsheathed the rainbow crystal blade from it's mouth. Afterwards, they charged ahead as, Bloom used the blade, to cut through, the blackened flames, one after another. However, the darkened flames only burned brighter, with rage as the black fire, encircled both The faerie and The Blue Eyes, as they faught to battle against it. "NO! NO I WON'T LET YOU WIN WHOEVER YOU ARE! I WILL FIND SETO AND YUGI! NOW GET OUT OF MY WAY!"Bloom proclaimed as she continued to clash her blade with the darkened fire that refused to let the faerie pass it.

(You Whom Do Not Belong Here...Whom Is Not Among The Dead...She Whom Is Yet Still Living...I Shall Cast You Out With My Own Hand...This Is No Place For You...BEGONE!)

A darkened voice called to Bloom, before, a strong current of dark flames incinerated the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and caused the faerie to fall. Even her wings, were rendered useless, as fear began to paralyze Bloom. It was nothing like, she had EVER felt before. It was colder than ice. Darker than an Abyss, More Intense Than Even The Strongest Fire Set Ablaze, A lonliness Of Emptiness, A Pain That Was Unfathomable To Comprehend. But what was most frightning to the faerie was the Void Of An Complete Nothingness Absent Of Life.

All Bloom could see, was a dark red circle, that had the drawing, of a red hour glass, on it ,as she faded, into nothing but, a small rainbow flame, threatened to vanish from all existance. But, before the blood seal, could imprison the faerie. She Saw, a flicker of light, that yet still remained, in such, a terrifying object. The golden light manifested, into the sillouette of another. But it wasn't daphne. They were, a young male and that wasn't just all, the figure greatly, resembled Yugi. But why? Bloom couldn't, Understand. All that the faerie did know, was that their hands, were over flowing with warmth as her spirit landed in them.

The voice echoed softly in her ears as she listened to its pleas. Bloom, gradually, began to feel, the warmth fade, as the dark aura slowly, returned, as the figure of light, vanished ,from her sight. However, the faerie's spirit, was gently guided, away from the Blood seal, and back to, her body, like a guiding light, that was, leading the way, and keeping her safe. It seemed like, she was gone for ,but, only a moment, as Bloom let out, a sharp gasp while, she shot up, and found herself, finally, back to normal.
