AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hi!

Welcome back. Thanks for stopping by. I've got a lot in store for all of you. As always thanks for supporting my little story and most importantly thanks for not forgetting about it. It means so much to me.

Now I know there might be a handful of grammatical errors in the story, I apologize for that. Sometimes I read through and try to correct them but I'm not perfect and I can't always see all the errors. I'll try my best to be more vigilant while editing or I'll just try to edit (I'm a bit lazy at times)

Without further ado, Chapter 21 everybody! Enjoy!

WARNING: This story may contain triggering scenes and strong language not meant for all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised. (I love to get that outta the way)

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of these characters except my OC Kendra and other OC's I might have forgotten to mention. This story is a pure work of fiction (hence its written on) and most of the events and facts are completely made up so... I guess that's it.

Chapter 21 - Every Action...

"Hello, Dr. Ortiz. I'm having nightmares again" Kendra said speaking into the phone. "And sorry for waking you up so late and sorry for springing this up on you and sorry for not calling all this while and sorry for..."

"Kendra breathe" Dr. Ortiz said. Kendra obeyed as she took a long breath. "Feeling any better sweetie?"

"Just a little bit Dr. Ortiz"

"Good" Dr. Ortiz paused. "And how many times have I told you, call me Tina."

'Alright... Tina. Hi. Sorry for waking you up..."

"Meh, I barely sleep anyways so all is forgiven. Now what's this talk about nightmares? When did they start?" Tina asked.

"This is the first night I'm having them in four years. It just seems so vivid I just couldn't fathom. Fuck" Kendra said sounding dejected and confused.

"Language girl" Tina cautioned. "And about the nightmares, do you have any idea what could have triggered them?"

"No, that's basically why I'm calling! I don't know what triggered them. All I know is that I'm freaking fall asleep again because the nightmares might continue. God what's freaking wrong with me?!" Kendra screamed pulling at her hair. This thing scared her to no end and it was driving her nuts.

"Calm down Kends, calm down. It's okay. We'll get through this. Just one step at a time. Okay? Please remember to breathe. The last thing you need now is a panic attack" Tina had a good point. Kendra took in a deep breath once again and remained silent for a while before she regained her composure. "Now as for what may have triggered the nightmares. Have you had any contact with Elijah? Or heard any news of him recently?"

"Well yeah he's been released from jail and I had a..."

"He's been what released? Kendra!" Tina scolded.

"Wait before you say anything else, I heard the news weeks ago. It bothered me initially but I was able to get over it. I didn't have any nightmares until today." Kendra cleared up.

"Okay well, if it's not directly relating to Elijah I guess it could be... wait, have you wrestled recently?" Tina asked.

"You know I quit it years ago. The closest I've come to it is when I practiced with a friend of mine a little while ago" Kendra explained.

"Did you have any injuries? From severe hits or anything like that while practicing?"

"No... Tina you're confusing me. What has that got to do with the nightmares?" Kendra asked genuinely confused.

"Well, blunt force trauma can have a huge effect on the psyche of just about anyone not to mention someone suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder like yourself..."

"Mine's in remission thank you very much" Kendra corrected.

"Right. My bad. But anyway my point is any form blunt force trauma like from kicks, punches, hard collisions and stuff like that is enough to serve as a trigger for all those suppressed memories, Now, try to think. Have you experienced any lately?" Tina asked. Kendra remained quiet for a while as she stared at her black eye in the mirror. "Are you still there sweetie?"

"Huh? Yeah. I actually haven't had any case of blunt force trauma recently so I think that's ruled out. Anything else doc?" She asked swiftly changing the topic.

"Oh, I see. Well, stress is also part of this. Extreme stress cases are enough to bring back repressed memories. The mind is complicated at times. Even if what you're stressing about has nothing to do with the incident"

"Oh yeah. Stress. I agree. I've been stressing a lot about my job so I think that's it. Yes" Kendra said feeling like they'd finally hit the hammer on the nail.

"Why? What's wrong with your job?" Tina asked full of concern.

"Oh nothing... just regular stress. You know?"

"Okay. Well... I can't make a complete and concise diagnosis until I see you face to face so I'm not really sure for now. Just listing out possibilities" Tina stated. "So when can we meet?"

"Hmm. Well I can't fly all the way to Calgary right now but we'll be there in three weeks so I guess I'll contact you then"

"I'll be waiting Kendra. In the meantime try to get some sleep. If you still keep having nightmares then you can try meditating, get a massage, eat more organic food or just get laid!"

"Tina!" Kendra screamed.

"I'm just saying. Geez. Anyways, ta-ta! I'll see you on the flip side"

"Bye!" Kendra said before hanging up the phone. It was always fun to talk to her therapist, Martina Ortiz. The lady was in her early forties but still had that sense of youthful exuberance which made her a joy to talk to.

As for her diagnosis, as much as she'd love to believe that the stress caused her nightmares to surface again, she knew it wasn't the case. She sighed as she laid back down on her back with her eyes wide open fearful to go back to sleep.

Kendra rolled her eyes as she knocked on the door of Vince Russo. "Come in" He said. "What the hell happened to your eye? God!" He commented as she stepped in.

"As if you care" She said with an eyeroll. "You asked to see me" She said with a bored expression on her face.

"Oh come on Kendra. You don't have to be like that"

"Oh what, I should be ecstatic that you've made my life hell these past few weeks or I should be celebrating the fact that you're asking me to quit and threatening me if I don't. In that case I'm fucking excited!"

"Wow" Russo said with a small laugh. "You don't have to be like that." Kendra crossed her arms over her chest with a 'really' look. "I mean it, I'm feeling a little nice today"

"Why did you call me here Russo? Why not just get on with the whole process of permanently ruining my wrestling career. Or do you need me to come up with an idea for that too?" She shot.

"How cute. And no, to answer your question. I don't need you coming up with anything for me no. In fact I thought about everything that happened and I realized I was too hard on you" He said with a soft smile. Kendra narrowed her eyes at him.

"Where's this going?" She asked.

"I have a preposition for you" He said. She was silent. "Well, don't you wanna know what I have to say?" She sighed.

"I already know I'm gonna regret this cause I know where this s going, but what's the proposition Vince?" Kendra asked. Russo stood up from his seat and made slow steps towards her. "Come any closer and I'll knock a few teeth outta your already ugly looking face" She spat. Russo halted raising his hands up in surrender.

"Hey, I don't want any trouble with you Harts"

"That ship has sailed" She said.

"Right. But what I'm offering, if you really wanna keep your job maybe you could do a few things for me" He proposed with a suggestive smirk plastered on his face. Kendra looked up him in disgust.

"First off, it's an internship. Second, you're freaking psychotic if you think I'll willingly jump in bed with you. Aren't you married by the way?"

"You're point being?" He asked. Kendra glared at him. "I'm doing you a favor sweetheart. You're pretty, hot and if you could get Shawn to fawn over you, you must be pretty good in the sac. C'mon"

"I'm leaving now. If you have any work relating to my actual JOB then I'll be happy to render my service but to sleep with you, please. I'd rather fuck Danny DeVito" She said.

"Ouch. Well think about it at least. It'll do wonders for your career darling." Russo paused. "But in the meantime I've got nothing for you to do."

"Thank you. I'll be on my way" She said making her way to the door.

"Think about it Hart. A lot of people would kill to be in the position you are now. Your family name can only take you so far. Hell it couldn't even get Owen the WWF title" He said with a laugh. She turned around and gave him the middle finger before walking out making sure to bang the door in the process. "Jackass" She mumbled.

"I trust you got everything on tape once again?" Shawn asked. Kendra nodded bringing out the tape recorder.

"Every single second of it. That bastard is so fucked" She said.

"Amen to that." Shawn laughed. "You know for a guy that claims to be smart, he ain't all that smart. Keep up the good work babygirl, I'll see you later" He said giving her a kiss on the forehead which stunned her for a moment before walking into Russo's office.

"You know if you allow him to do that out here in the open people would start talking" Sable said coming out of literally nowhere.

"Wait did anyone see...?" She asked as she began to panic.

"No, here's pretty much deserted cause it's still early. I was just spying on you to see how the whole Russo meeting went until I saw HBK kiss you. Girl you've been hiding something from me" She teased. Kendra groaned. "And oh my God what the hell happened to your eye"

So early on, she told Curt and Sable about the whole Russo thing making sure to leave Shawn out when she talked to Curt due to the fact that both men didn't get along so well. But Sable knew about the whole Shawn thing, the recorder, Russo's threats and her allegiance with Shane and Austin.

"He didn't kiss me... well he did but it was just a forehead thing. Please don't mention it to anyone and by anyone I mean Marc" She said referring to Marc Mero Sable's husband. "And I ran into a door that's how I got the black eye. It'll disappear soon"

"God I hope so. But is anything going on between you and Shawn?" Sable asked.

"Nope, he's just my friend" Kendra said dismissively. Sable eyed her for a moment before shrugging in agreement.

"If you say so. Anyways, how did the whole Russo thing go down anyways?" Sable asked.

"Long story short he asked me to sleep with him if I still wanted keep the internship." Sable gasped. "Yep"

"Oh my God that's awful. He's doable but still..."

"Sable!" Kendra coughed out with a laugh. "He's not even... Eww" Kendra screeched, expressing disgust.

"Okay, okay. Doable or not... that's still wrong on so many levels"

"Yep. That's why I got it all on tape"

"Smart girl" Sable praised as they walked into catering. "Well I'm starving, I haven't eaten anything since I got back from the gym"

"I haven't even eaten at all today" Kendra said.

"Why?"

"Had a rough night" She said grabbing a bottle of water. She noticed Sable was looking over her shoulder. "What?"

"Candido and 3 o'clock" Sable said. Kendra glanced over to see Chris Candido looking all sad and depressed as he ate along on a table. "Sunny's heartless you know. I heard she asked for time off after Raw" Sable said.

"Poor Chris. I wanna go over there to talk to him" Kendra said still having the overwhelming guilt that all this was her fault.

"Alright. I'm gonna get something to eat" Sable announced walking away.

Kendra took a deep breath as she walked over to the table Chris was at. Chris hadn't noticed her presence as he was looking down at his food so she cleared her throat making him look up at her. "Do you mind if I sit here?" Chris gave her a tired smile.

"Be my guest" He motioned. "It's good to see you again"

"Likewise. You look..." Kendra tried to come up with a good word to use to describe his current state.

"Horrible? It's alright you're free to say it. I look and feel horrible. God" Chris said looking dejected.

"I'm sorry. I feel horrible for doing this to you"

"No please don't. You were brave enough to talk to me after knowing me for a short time and honestly you might be my only real friend in this company. I can't believe no one told me. I gave Sunny the world but maybe I just wasn't man enough for her" He said sniffling a little.

"Awwn, Chris..."

"No. It's alright. I'm fine. I will be. I think I need some time off as well. To regroup and get shit together" He said standing up. "I'm sorry if I'm not quite in the mood for a conversation but for all it's worth you look beautiful" Chris said. Kendra chuckled.

"Thanks. At least this gross monstrosity hasn't affected my natural beauty" She joked making Chris chuckle. "And hey..." She said handing him her phone. "Put your number in here. I'll call you and anytime you need to talk remember I'm here" She said. Chris smiled and did just that before walking away.

Kendra still couldn't shake off the guilt. She couldn't if it came from destroying Sunny and Chris's relationship, or if it came from becoming friends with the man who helped to destroy it.

"Are you alright man? You look a little tired" Jim Neidhart said to his brother in law who wasn't looking his best. It was expected though after the hectic day they'd had travelling, taking photos and promoting Summerslam.

"Oh I'm fine. Just can't wait to hit the hay and finally get some rest. Tomorrow's my day off at last" Bret said with a yawn as he slung his back over his shoulder. "I'll see you tomorrow. I have a bed calling my name in room 306" Bret said.

"Yeah do so to get some rest man, we both do. But Liz expects me to talk to her and the kids every night." Jim said with a sigh as they heard the 'ding' sound from the elevator. "Well, what can we do? Goodnight" He said giving Bret a light slap on the back before making his way to his hotel room.

Jim made a good point though. Bret had been too busy to check up on his family lately and God he missed them dearly. He made a mental note to call them once the first thing the next day as he was much too tired to do so right away. All he wanted to do was sleep.

But as he slumped down on his bed, three seconds away from successfully entering dream world, he got a call from a very familiar number. Immediately his heart beat shot up as he readily pressed the answer button.

"Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. It's been what, two years? How are you?"

"Tina? I've been... okay. Just great" Bret said taking in a deep breath. "Uh... how have you been?"

"I've been great. But I surely missed my most interesting patient. How's these past few years been treating you? I watched WrestleMania you know. What a brilliant match!" Tina praised in a sweet but condescending manner. Bret groaned.

"Don't patronize me Tina. What do you want?" Bret asked impatiently.

"Easy big fella. I don't want any trouble. Who knows how freely you could be... 'hitting'... around these days, hitman" She said. Bret sighed heavily as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"Great. You talked to my sister. Great. Just great. Well for your info it was just a heat of the moment thing. An isolated incident and I apologized afterwards. Stop trying to subtly make me feel bad"

"Make you feel bad? I wouldn't dream of it" Tina said sarcastically. "In all seriousness Bret, I hate to break doctor-patient confidentiality but she didn't tell me anything about you. Surprisingly she never has. I just observed the way she was talking last night and all signs pointed to you"

"Good lord! What the hell is going on with her?" Bret asked in a shaky tone. "Is she alright?"

"So you do care. Shocker"

"Tina please stop playing mind games with me. Just tell me if my sister's alright. Why's she calling you all of a sudden? She hasn't needed therapy in over four years" Bret stated.

"True. Your sister's a strong one alright. Unfortunately I can't tell you all the details of our little chat due to..." Tina started before being cut off by Bret.

"...Doctor-patient confidentiality I know. Geez. And to think I was the one paying for her therapy sessions. The least you can do is to tell me if she's okay or not.."

"Why'd you hit your sister hitman? I thought we've moved past this" She asked, conveniently turning the conversation back to him.

"I... she barely listens to me anymore. I gave her one rule. One and she flaunts it. I'm doing my best to protect her Tina but she just can't save me all the stress and keep herself safe"

"Bret, she's an adult now. I'm sure she can protect herself and even if she can't, violence is never the answer. It won't solve anything. Remember all our sessions" Bret took in a deep breath. "Can you hear me Bret?"

"Loud and clear Tina. I just don't wanna see my sister get hurt"

"And your doing so by hurting her? No. You're not that stupid Hart!" She heard him grunt on the other line. "I meant so in a nice way"

"Tina, if anything happens to her again..."

"Nothing's gonna happen to her. Just give her space and let her do what she wants to do. She's not a kid"

"Tina"

"Bret. Please. Let's not have this discussion again. You used to be so close to your sister and now, I can tell she's so scared of you if she couldn't even open up to me about you"

"You have a point" Bret said softly. "I'll try but it's just the..."

"Guilt? Don't let it affect you. It's been six years. Move on already! It's no longer a reasonable excuse Bret, now it's just sad" Tina said.

"I'll take your words into consideration. As much as no one would like to believe, I don't mean my sister any harm. I'm just trying..."

"To protect her. Yeah. You screamed that in my ear during all our therapy sessions. You PTSD patients, I just can't get a break with y'all. C'mon!" Bret laughed slightly. "Take care of yourself though Bret."

"I will. And you too"

"I mean it Bret. No more isolated incidents. Take care of yourself. Keep your mental health in check. Goodnight"

"Night" Bret said groaning once the call was over.

Tina was a hell of a therapist and she understood him better than most people did. He knew he was too hard on his sister. It was something he couldn't switch off during a particular time in their lives and now it had become a part of him.

Maybe he should try to lay off a bit on Kendra. It wouldn't be easy for him but what's the worst that could happen?

"Am I even dressed right for this 'meeting' in quote?" Shawn asked making little air quotes with his hands around the word 'meeting'. Kendra eyed him up and down.

"You look like a Hunter. Not Triple H but an actual Hunter." Kendra replied referencing his jeans, cowboy boots and hat. "But we don't really have a dress code so you should be alright"

"I actually am a hunter but we'll discuss more on that later. How are we sure that Shane's not gonna be wearing a suit expecting this to be some kind of mafia meeting" Shawn theorized. Kendra gave him a confused look. "What? It happens. Those McMahons are weird as hell"

"Well sexy boy, there's only one way to find out" Kendra said motioning to the door of the lonely looking diner at the side of the road. "Shall we?" Shawn nodded as he opened the door for her waiting for her to get in before getting in as well.

It wasn't too hard to locate Shane who was sitting alone at the far end of the little diner.

Wearing a suit of course.

"Why are we the only ones here? I swear if you're trying to murder us..." Shawn started.

"Don't flatter yourself Michaels. I just wanna chat." Shane said gesturing to the seats opposite him for them to sit in. "And we're the only ones here cause these are after hours. Being a McMahon gets you those privileges"

"I'll make a mental note of that" Shawn said taking a look around. "Where's Austin?"

"He's busy. It's just me tonight" Shane said with a smirk as he looked directly at Kendra. "Well at last. I'm here. You're here..."

"I'm here" Shawn interrupted.

"Riiiight. Anyways, we're all here. Let's talk"

Did you guys feel this chapter or did it seem like filler? I'm still trying to figure it out but nonetheless what's done is done.

So where are we now let's see. Russo's practically fucked at this point, Bret had an epiphany, Curt's still injured, Sunny's out of the picture (for now), Kendra and Shawn are working together and getting closer and my favorite character Vince McMahon is in for a lot of drama.

Tune in next time on Chapter 22.

And remember to stay safe.
