Chapter 19: Night School Is Pretty Dumb

Maddie's POV

"Are you fucking serious?" I shrieked, and Reiji covered his ears with his hands.

"You mortals are so excessively loud…" he sighed.

"Night school? For me? Dude, I'm eighteen!" I reasoned, folding my arms.

"I don't trust you alone in this house. Who knows if you set up fire once again?"

"I'm not dumb! I haven't done that bef- oh wait, I have," I sheepishly smiled.

"You will attend classes with me and that good for nothing… Shuu," Reiji commanded, and I sighed in disappointment.

He disappeared.

And when I turned around, there was a school uniform on my bed, perhaps wanted to be worn by me to turn me into someone sophisticated. Well, nah.

I'm not wearing that.

I'm wearing that. Seriously, it's itchy.

Currently we were standing in front of the mansion, where the limousine was waiting for us. I got in the last (even after Shuu) and sat in the corner, beside Yui. I wanted to annoy Reiji but he was way too engrossed in his book, so I sighed and sat down.

As the car picked up speed, I commented, "Y'all really live the lives of owls."

"What do you mean?" Subaru questioned.

"Owls stay awake at night and sleep in the day. And y'all legit the same," I replied.

"You're talking as if you have anything productive to do in the day anyway," Ayato sassed.

"Well, for your information, mister daddy issues, I do have a lot of work in the day."

"Like what?" Kanato asked.

I sweetly grinned, "Annoying the hell out of you and obsessing over K-pop groups. Oh, and do you all know Stray Kids? They just came out with a new song-"

Reiji slammed his book shut with a loud bang, startling me for a moment.

A minute later, I spoke, "Night school is pretty dumb."

"We get it, girl, but I'm kinda used to it now," Yui encouraged me, "It has totally messed up my sleep schedule."

"IDIOTS! Y'ALL VAMPIRES ARE IDIOTS FOR ATTENDING NIGHT SCHOOL!" I suddenly screamed out of context, and even Yui was surprised.

"Damn, I didn't even hype you up that much," she mumbled.

"Excuse me?" Reiji looked at me, interested.

"OF COURSE! WHY CAN'T YOU ATTEND SCHOOL IN THE DAY? IT'S NOT LIKE YOU ALL SHIMMER WITH GLITTER IN THE DAYLIGHT LIKE EDWARD CULLEN!"

"I-" Laito was probably coming up with a bad pickup line, but I intervened again,

"AND WAIT, WHY DO YOU ALL HAVE TO GO TO A SCHOOL EVEN? AREN'T Y'ALL HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD? WHAT, DID YOU GUYS FAIL A COUPLE HUNDRED TIMES IN THE SAME CLASS?"

"It's not-" Ayato cut in, but I cut him off again,

"AND OH MY GAWD, REIJI? DID YOU FAIL TOO? OH MAH LAWD-"

"That's enough!" Reiji snapped, and everyone stared at us. Why?

Because Reiji never snaps.

Well, I guess there's a first time for everything…

The car came to a halt, and Shuu was surprisingly the first one to get off, and then yawn and say, "Finally some peace."

I got off the ride and sneaked up behind him, and then yelled right in his ear, "WONHAE MANHI MANHI!"

He tumbled and fell back on his butt. And I smiled in victory.

"Scared by a human girl? Is this what you've come to, hm?" An unfamiliar voice commented from behind, and Shuu turned his head to sigh and utter out, "Oh, it's Yuma.
