Sorry for disappearing like that, guys. I had truly lost inspiration to write anymore. Then, I forgot that this story existed. So my sister, who reads all my stuff, reminded me of this and I went like OH FACK.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter! Looking forward to some reviews!

Chapter 21: The Dance Battle

Maddie's POV

All five of us saw a fuming Subaru approaching, and I smiled hugely, not knowing how livid he was. He came near me and roughly grabbed my wrist and tugged me along with him, dragging me towards the school building.

We were only a few steps forward when I yanked his fingers off my wrist and yelled, "TREAT A LADY WITH RESPECT!"

"And I don't see a lady in front of me," he sassed.

I dramatically gasped.

I heard Kou chuckled behind me, and I furrowed my eyebrows in an attempt to look intimidating.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Subaru asked me with a raised eyebrow.

"Do I intimidate you?"

"No, you just creep me out."

You know when you crush rejects you? That was exactly how heartbroken I was upon hearing that.

"WHY SENPAI, WHY?" I cried in pure agony (ToTaLLy NoT dRaMaTiCaLLy) and fell on my knees. He looked flustered and looked around at the crowd forming around, probably judging us to the fullest.

But did I care? No.

MY LOVE JUST BROKE MY HEART AAAAAAAA IS THIS PURE HEARTACHE?

"O-Okay, get up," Subaru tried his best to compose himself in front of others, and I shook my head.

"GET THE FUCK UP!" he yelled, and instead of flinching at the sudden outburst, I smirked.

"Why are you smirking?" he questioned skeptically.

"I'm gonna go live with the Mukamis now," I declared, and his mouth hung wide open.

"You- WHAT?"

"She isn't coming to live with us-" Yuma began, but I turned and cut him off, "Shush, you tall ass demon!"

"HEY!"

I turned back to Subaru, who was still flabbergasted, and then he uttered, "You're coming with me right now!"

"Only if I find you worthy of my love – only then am I going to you with you!" I proclaimed, and he skeptically stared at me.

"What do you mean?"

"Have a dance off with Kou right here, right now!" I demanded, and his eyes grew wide (only one eye, because he keeps the other one covered like an idiot… like, he isn't Kaneki Ken to keep it covered like that).

"W-What?" he slowly questioned.

"Dance off with me? Hell, you're about to lose, Subaru!" Kou shined in glory of me giving him attention. He high-fived me and then stood beside me, with both of us posing with our arms crossed on our chests.

"I'm out of this!" Subaru whined, turning around, starting to walk away, and I loudly asked Kou, "Hey, mind if I come to yours?"

"Of course not! You're very welcome!" he replied happily.

"UGH!" Subaru turned back to face us and gave me the biggest shock of my life.

"I'll do that dance battle."

"DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT?" I exclaimed, and Kou's mouth flung open.

"Bring it on, sucker," he said, clearly offended by Subaru's acceptance.

Then, Kou took out his phone and played a track. The phone blasted with music, and he waited until a certain point when the singers sang these lines: "Red light green light swag! Bye or what's up man!"

"That's Stray Kids!"

And Kou turned around and did a slut drop.

I cheered for him, "GO, KOU! AND THAT RHYMED!"

Once he was done, Subaru shyly came in the limelight, and did a pirouette.

WHO KNEW THAT SUBARU SAKAMAKI KNEW HOW TO DO A PIROUETTE?

"OH, MY GOD!" I cheered for both the sides, taking out my phone to record them both.

"I'm gonna end the game right away!" Kou said, doing the floss.

"Ugh!" Subaru complained, shimmying on the shimmy shimmy beat.

"I'm gonna win!" Kou desperately tried winning by excitedly dabbing a million times.

And then Subaru ended the game… with a ballerina pose and a split.

Kou's mouth flung open yet again, and I ended the video and squealed, fangirling at Subaru, "OH GOSH, MY MAN CAN DO ALL!"

Subaru was so red that he could be classified as a tomato right away.

"Where did you learn all that from?" I asked, and Subaru spoke, "I have a dark past."

*Subaru's flashback*

Ever since Reiji and Shuu's mother made them join a ballet class, which Shuu never attended, Subaru took it upon his shoulders and always used to replace him.

"And boys, let's do the pirouette!" the teacher exclaimed, overexcited for god knew what reason.

And so, Subaru and Reiji pirouetted like dolls.

*End of flashback*

"Can Reiji do it too?" I asked in curiosity, and Subaru nodded.

"I'm gonna make him do it someday!"
