Disclaimer: I do not own Diabolik Lovers or its characters in any way, but only my OC and the plot of this story.

Chapter 22: Annoying Reiji

Maddie's POV

I walked to my first class in which I was supposed to be with my bestie Reiji and my other bestie Shuu. I entered the laboratory, the smell of chemicals in the air stuffing into my nose and paralyzing me for a moment.

I really didn't sign up for this.

And because Reiji wouldn't let me go home, I was going to make his day so hellish that he was going to question his sanity.

Smiling at my own thought of sweet revenge, I skipped into the room, getting glances cast at by other students, and once I approached Reiji, I loudly chirped, "HEY, BESTIE!"

He gave me a look before continuing whatever he was doing with the chemicals.

"You know what I found out today?" I tried, but he didn't pay any attention to me, so I left my books at his table, and then stepped back, and the pirouetted, singing, "Remember this, Sakamaki?"

He froze.

"Wh-who told you that?" he coughed once I stopped, lowly asking me the question, and I grinned like a fool.

"Who was it?" he asked again, but I didn't stop smiling.

"Oh, so you're not going to give me an answer? Okay, well then," he started working on his chemicals, and I asked, "Yoink is the opposite of yeet, but it's just as fast."

He ignored me.

I continued, "So how would we use it?"

"I don't have an answer," he spoke.

"The lord yeetith and the lord yoinkith away," I formed a sentence.

"Good lord, I think I'm having a stroke," Reiji sighed.

"So vampires pray to God as well?" I questioned.

He paused for a moment, probably rethinking his life's decisions.

"Did I make you think?~" I sang out aloud, "Maddie made Sakamaki think!~"

"Can you stop? You're embarrassing me," he mumbled under the curious gaze of the rest of his classmates.

"Aw, you're embarrassed of me!" I laughed, "What kind of a friend are you? Join in the madness!"

"I'm not your friend!" he hissed.

"Why the fuck are you hissing? Are you a snake or something?"

He ignored that and mixed one chemical with another. I sighed, bored, when I saw Ruki enter the class.

"He's in your class too?" I asked Reiji, pointing at Ruki, and he grimaced, "That low-life is in my class too. I'm so ashamed to be in the same-"

"Yeah, yeah, alright. He's hotter than you, though," I remarked.

At that, Reiji gave me a pointed look and turned away.

"Do I smell jealousy?" I giggled at him.

"If you don't stop now, you'll be smelling chloroform without your consent," he sassed back.

"Ooh, did I teach you that comeback or what? The sass, sis!" I clapped at him. Then, when he didn't respond, I asked a random question, "What are we gonna have in dinner… tomorrow? Damn, your night-school messed up my schedule!"

"Spaghetti and meatballs," he replied tightly.

"…"

"…"

"Swagetti and memeballs," I laughed.

"You're uninvited."

"Seems fair."

With that, I walked off towards Shuu at the back of the class, but saw that he was fast asleep, so I turned around and walked over to Ruki.

"What do you want, new girl?" he asked me.

"I want you, handsome," I winked at him. He cringed.

"L-O-L sorry."

"Ugh, so you're one of those people who uses abbreviations in face-to-face talks," he shook his head in disappointment.

"Hey, don't judge me so quickly! Damn, you're just like Reiji," I complained.

He snapped his head at me and threatened, "Don't you dare compare me with that stuck-up brat."

"What's the beef between you two families?" I asked, genuinely interested.

"It's better if you don't know that," he replied.

Ooh, mystery.
