DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of these characters except my OC Kendra and other OC's I might have forgotten to mention. This story is a pure work of fiction (hence its written on) and most of the events and facts are completely made up so... I guess that's it.

/This chapter is dedicated to the memory of Scott Hall otherwise known as Razor Ramon. I have made mentions of him severally in this book in previous chapters. As a huge wrestling fan, he was someone I enjoyed seeing on screen, he was an icon and we still feel his impact on the wrestling industry till this day. Whether he performed as Razor Ramon or Scott Hall, whether he was in the Outsiders, nWo, the Kliq and others, he always put on a good show and he is and will forever be thoroughly missed. Rest in Peace Razor Ramon. Forever The Bad Guy./

This chapter also contains mature and sexual themes. Just putting this out there.

Chapter 30 - A Friend In Need...

Kendra lay awake, wide eyed, afraid to go to sleep fearing the nightmares that she could have.

She and Bret arrived at Providence a little bit past 1am and soon enough she scurried over to her hotel room, unpacked what she needed and texted Shane who she was to meet the afternoon of that day. All set in stone, what was left on her agenda was sleep.

Unfortunately she couldn't.

What she heard Bret say kept ringing in her head. I'll bring her over when we get to Canada. Who the hell was he talking to and what the hell was that? She really didn't wanna believe that it was Elijah but...

She shook that thought away but it kept on coming back and she hated it. She just wanted to be free of Elijah forever. Was that so hard to ask?

"God I'm losing my mind! Bret is crazy as fuck but he's not plotting some kind of sick plan with Elijah, is he? But then again... I dunno... Kendra quit talking to yourself already" Kendra said to herself. Who the hell could she call at 2 fucking am that she could talk to? She was losing her mind.

Tina? No. She'd probably just pass it off as paranoia.

Shawn? No. She bothered enough for a while, plus she was sure he was already asleep. Or with a girl, who knew?

Curt? No. Same with Shawn probably.

Owen? No. Poor guy was already pretty worried about her she didn't wanna add more stress.

Sable? No. Mostly cause she just didn't wanna wake her up.

Undertaker? No, he scared her.

Her high school or college friends? No. They wouldn't get it.

Only one other option and she couldn't say she was thrilled about it. But she just had to, for the sake of her sanity. It rang and rang and suddenly she heard someone breathe on the line. She herself took in a deep breath.

"Kendra. Wow, what a nice surprise" Kendra's hands trembled and her mouth became dry. She had no idea what she was doing. Hell, why was she doing this? "Kendra are you there? Must be a mistake." The person said. "Well, if you're really there and you can hear me. I just wanna say I'm..." Kendra hung up.

She couldn't do it. Not now. Possibly not ever.

She couldn't talk to Elijah.

It was better she slept off and dealt with her nightmares and constant paranoia.

Or she could just ask Bret what he meant by that?

God why was her life so complicated? What the hell was wrong with her?

Deciding not to continue pondering alone in her hotel room, Kendra put on her flip flops, a tee and some shorts and decided to go downstairs. Maybe take a walk around the hotel to cool her head off.

The night was cold and breezy, It was lonely and deserted which was just what the doctor ordered. She took a long slow walk around the hotel as her mind went back to events of old and she pondered on them.

Flashback, late September 1989

Kendra cried herself the night before. She still couldn't believe her brother could lay his hands on her. Sure she disobeyed him but it really didn't warrant that. Did it? Especially after all she'd been through?

She definitely didn't deserve it.

As she lay on her bed, she heard a brisk knock on the door. Her heart began to race. What else did he wanna do this time?

"Can I come in?" She heard Bret say from the other side.

"Sure" She replied. Bret stepped in closing the door behind himself slightly. The atmosphere was tense as they stared at each other down in the eye.

"How are you?" He asked with a bit of concern in his voice.

Bastard.

"I could be better" She spat. "Listen Bret, about yesterday..." He sighed, cutting her off immediately.

"I'm glad you brought that up Kendra. Things are gonna change a bit around here." Bret said. She looked up at him. "I know I went over the line. And I feel horrible. But Kendra you just can't flaunt my rules. Do you know what I would have done if something bad happened to you? I could have lost my mind!" Bret exclaimed.

"Bret it gives you no right to hit me and you know that. What would mom think?" She asked tearing up. "Bret how could you do that to me? You're supposed to be the one protecting me!" She cried out. Bret looked visibly uncomfortable at that thought. His mom was one of the sweetest people he knew and he knew for a fact that it would break her heart if she found out that he hit his sister. Bret sighed.

"Come here" He said pulling her closer to him. She was still a bit tense so she remained stiff but Bret didn't mind "I promise to never do that again. I honestly don't know what came over me. I'm incredibly sorry" Bret said.

"What about that about treating me like a bitch. I'm not a bitch Bret" She asked amidst sniffles.

"Kendra, I'm sorry. I really am. I don't know what came over me" Bret said rubbing her back. "You're my baby sister. You can never be a bitch. I'm sorry once again"

"Why did you hit me?" She asked. Bret sighed once again.

"I was furious. You know I have a thing with rules and you had already disobeyed me twice. But don't worry, I won't hit you anymore" Bret assured. "From the depth of my heart, I'm sorry."

"Bret..."

"But... there is a but... we won't have a problem if you obey me. Just obey me. Don't do anything that could get me worried or else..." Kendra looked up at him with her large brown eyes.

"Or else what Bret?"

"Let's pray this never happens again. I really don't wanna hurt you sis I really don't. This time was a slip and I apologize honestly. But honey if this happens again, Kendra I'm not joking around. I'm gonna hurt you" He threatened. Kendra looked at him and saw that he wasn't playing around. She really didn't wanna be hit again, it didn't feel good at all and to an extent she was sure she was scared of him.

"I'll be good" She managed to choke out.

"That's mu girl. Your breakfast is downstairs. Whenever you're ready. I'm gonna head out soon" Bret said as he stood up from her bed and took his leave. Kendra still looked confused. The voice of reason in her head told her to watch out and obey Bret and just be good.

But the stubborn teenager in her said fuck it. She just had to be a little bit more careful when breaking his rules.

Little did she know that she'd just opened up a can of worms.

End Of Flashback

Looking back she would say she was the one at fault but in her defense she didn't really think she of all people was in the right mental state at that point. She should had been allowed to do whatever the hell she wanted.

Okay maybe not but... oh screw it.

As she walked around she hotel, she came to a stop at the pool. She decided to take a seat on one of the chairs there. The peace and quiet, the hypnotic scent of the chlorinated water plus the cool night's air all equated to some sort of Nirvana for her. At least for a little while, she was at peace.

But her mind still continued to play flashbacks in her head.

Flashback, early October 1989

It has been about a week since the 'incident' with Bret and so far everything had been peaceful. Bret visibly relaxed and everything seemed to be going on smoothly. The calm before the storm.

Kendra lay on her bed reading a book when her oh so lovely brother Bret stepped in.

"Hi Bret" She said.

"Hey sis, how are you?"

"I'm good. Just reading this book. Nothing new" Kendra said taking a note of the fact that Bret was wearing jeans and a Stampede shirt. "You're going for a show? I thought you weren't gonna wrestle for a while" She asked curiously.

"Yeah. Dad told me to come attend to some things over there. Some new recruits, supplies, training, stuff like that" Bret listed. "Either ways I'll be gone for at least one night. You sure you can take care of yourself?" Bret asked.

"Yeah sure. But it's a bit out of character for you to just leave me on my own don't you think?" Kendra asked. Bret shrugged.

"Maybe a bit. It depends on whether or not I can trust you to be left on your own. Can I?" Bret asked. Kendra raised an eyebrow.

"You can. I've learned my lesson alright" She replied with a sigh as she looked him straight in the eye. Bret frowned.

"That's good to hear. I'll be out for a day or two. Take care of yourself and don't miss me too much" He teased. Kendra rolled her eyes.

A lot of thoughts filled her head but she tried to push them away. Until she couldn't anymore... so she got out her phone and made some calls to her friends.

End Of Flashback

"Heyo"

Kendra was snapped out of her chain of thoughts by a deep masculine voice. She looked up at the owner of that voice and nearly jumped out of her chair in fear as she had no idea who this stranger was. But my, he was tall, muscular and had a 'don't you dare mess with me' face.

"Hey chica, I don't bite. I'm just a regular hotel patron like you." He said with a smile definitely trying to calm her nerves. It worked... a little.

"I... I'm sorry for acting all scared. You just caught me off guard I guess" She said still looking a bit uncomfortable.

"It's no problem. You seemed a little out of it. Are you alright?" The guy asked. Kendra looked up at him and it was then in the light that she realized who exactly she was talking to. "And there it is" The man said with a smile.

"Excuse me?"

"That sudden look of realization. But, I'll still make my formal introduction. I'm Scott, Scott Hall. It's a pleasure" He said as he offered his hand to her. Kendra smiled.

"Kendra, the pleasure is all mine. I'm a huge fan by the way" She said. Which was true, from Razor Ramon to the nWo she was a huge fan.

"I thought as much" He said taking a seat next to her.

Ahh, Scott Hall. Another wrestler Bret detested. He was a part of the Kliq alongside Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Hunter and of course, Shawn. The Kliq and backstage politics. Their very existence tormented Bret to his very core. The special favor they got from Vince, the unfair treatment, their various lifestyles, etc. Now Kendra didn't know much about the Kliq days as she wasn't present in the WWF throughout that period but she heard stories. She made a mental note to ask Shawn more about the Kliq when next they hung out.

"So what are you doing sitting all alone here at this time of night?" Scott asked as his eyes flickered down to her arm. "Ouch. Sorry."

"For?"

"The cast. It looks really fresh. I'd say you got injured a day or two ago" Scott said. Kendra's mouth was in agape. "I'm a wrestler and I have really good medical knowledge too." Scott said. Kendra nodded, looking quite impressed. "So a penny for your thoughts chica?"

"Well, it's nothing really. Things are going on smoothly in my life but... I'm just stressed out. Plus I'm quite prone to injury" She said. Scott looked at her and blinked.

"I'm guessing you're a protege of someone in WWF. Are you training?" Scott asked. Kendra chuckled. Not to sound vain or anything but she spent a good part of her life training. If it was down to sheer skill, not strength, she was sure she could out wrestle the majority of both WCW's and WWF rosters. Male or female. Hell her mom always said her pursuing a different career path away from being from the ring was a waste of money.

"How did you come to that realization?" She asked a bit amused but at the same time a bit curious.

"I figured you must be in WWF, a lot of wrestlers and staff are in this hotel. You definitely couldn't be in WCW cause I'd have spotted you out..." He said winking. She smiled, he was Shawn's friend alright. "...but anywho, I just figured from the cast and the fading black eye"

Kendra guessed it was really that noticeable. Bret actually physically scarred her.

"I'm a writer. But I do train from time to time" She said telling a half truth. Scott nodded believing her.

"Alright that's fair. So what can ol' Scott do for you to make you feel all better? An autograph? A signed nWo shirt?" He asked cheekily. Kendra laughed.

"Don't bother. I just wanna be left alone. Plus I wouldn't wanna interrupt what you're doing either." Kendra stated.

"I'm not doing anything chica. I actually just came here to get some fresh air. Maybe take a swim." He shrugged. "But then I ran into such a beauty as yourself. I guess fate works in mysterious ways" He said. She chuckled.

"Wow. You are such a charmer. Your girlfriend must be so lucky" She said sarcastically.

"Aha!" Scott exclaimed. "Who said I had a girlfriend? I'm completely single and ready to mingle" He said. Kendra chuckled.

"Wow. What a surprise." She commented once again, unable to get rid of her sarcastic tone.

"You're mocking me aren't you damsel?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. She shrugged.

"What if I am?" She said.

"Well we've got two options. Either you could give me a kiss... or I could throw you into the pool" He said. "Your choice"

"Scott Hall, I have a cast on" She said.

"Your point?" He asked. She sighed.

"Well, do your worst" She said leaning back into her chair, crossing her legs then crossing her hands. Challenging him. Scott playfully glared at her but put his hands up in surrender.

"Fine, you win. I'm not gonna touch you" She smirked. "But the least you can do is tell me what's wrong" She said. Kendra gave it a thought.

"Nothing, just some personal issues I can't disclose. My brother, my ex-boyfriend..." She tried not to give away too much. She was in a vulnerable state. She knew that. Scott knew that.

"Oh. Well they must be assholes if they are causing such pan to such a beautiful girl" Scott said. "And hey, let's forget all the flirting and let me drop the bad guy attitude, it actually disturbs me when I see people... especially beautiful, chill girls like you in a mood..."

"Does this happen to you alot?" Kendra cut in sounding amused. Scott smiled.

"Smartass. But hey, whatever it is. It seems to be disturbing you a lot. I recommend meditating, calming down and leaving everything to fate. I know we just met but you seem cool. And if you ever need a listening ear..." Scott scribbled out his number. "...I'm here. And then again, if you need someone to help you relieve the stress... I'm always available" Scott said. She stared at him blankly then let out a smile and shook his hand.

"Thank you Scott. And while I think you just wanna get into my pants, I appreciate the sentiment. And I'll be fine. I just need to clear my head" She said. Scott smiled and ruffled her head.

"Tell you what, take as much time as you need. I'll be in pool" He said as he removed his shirt and dived into the pool splashing water all around her.

"Hey!"

"It was an accident" He said chuckling. It obviously was but he found it amusing. "Are you wet darling?"

"Fuck you!" She said as he continued laughing. Shaking the sheer stupidity of Scott off, she proceeded back into her thoughts.

Flashback, early October 1989

Bret had been gone for a day and Kendra decided to succumb to her temptations. She was a teenager after all, she had to live a little!

She invited her friend Kian over to Bret's place for a movie. Kian had very obvious feelings for her and while she reciprocated them, she didn't wanna move too fast after the... events with Elijah. Nonetheless, she was open to having fun with no strings attached... for now.

"Your brother has a nice place. He must really love you to let you have all these to yourself" Kian commented as he plopped down on the couch. Kendra laughed.

"He may love me alright, but he definitely won't let me have all this to himself. Hell, he'd probably kill me if he knew I invited you over" Kendra said. Kian looked amused.

"And why is that?" He asked with a smirk. Kendra smiled seductively and sat down on his lap. She crossed her legs as Kian looked at her in an enchanted manner. He was no doubt smitten. And Kendra knew this. And she had no problem with it.

"Because of things like this" She said as her lips captured his. Kian was stunned but quickly gave into the kiss. He pulled her further into his laps and threw her legs to either side of him to the position in which she was straddling him. They continued to make out for a while until they stopped to catch their breaths.

"Kendra, we're not gonna watch this movie are we?" Kian asked. Kendra shook her head no. "You wanna fuck don't you?" Kendra nodded. Kian took a deep breath.

"What's wrong Kian?" She asked.

"Nothing. Just can't believe that I'm gonna sleep with the hottest girl in school. Elijah was a fool for letting you go, but then again it's to my benefit." He said stroking her hair. "Take off your top." He commanded to which Kendra obliged immediately. She was left in a bra and booty shorts which no doubt turned Kian on. He let out a loud groan which indicated that. Kendra giggled as she got off him. "Hey, where are you going?"

She gave no response as she knelt down in front of him and spread his legs apart a bit. Then almost immediately, she went down on him. Kian groaned loudly as she continued. He grabbed her by the hair as her head continued to bop up and down. This went on for a couple of minutes until the most scary thing that had ever happened to her at that time, occurred. She heard someone clear their throat and clap slowly. SHe immediately froze.

With her mouth still full, she looked over at her doorway and saw a very amused looking Bret standing there, leaning on the wall.

"Wow, how nice." He commented. "Son, I want you outta here in five minutes. Kendra, we need to talk. I want you in my room in the next ten minutes" Bret said as he exited the room. Kendra still hadn't moved from that position but decided to continue what she was doing. A few minutes later, she was done and swallowed.

"Thanks for at least finishing me off" Kian said ruffling her hair. "Goodluck with your brother" He said as he exited her room and the house. Kendra sighed as she made her way to her brother's room after putting on her shirt.

"How nice of you to oblige to me. But when I told you to come... how do I put this? You know that Nirvana song? Come as you are?" Bret asked. Kendra nodded. She was a fan. "Of course you do. Well, come as you are and as you were"

"I don't understand" She told Bret.

"Take your top off!" He said losing the playful tone he had earlier. Kendra obeyed and did so. "Good" Bret said as he loosened his belt buckle. Kendra looked at him wide eyed. "Relax, I'm not crazy. I'm resourceful." He said. Not understanding what he meant, she was quickly snapped back into reality when she felt a sting on her stomach. Almost immediately she dropped to the floor.

Bret whipped her with his belt countless times on her bare skin causing her to shout out in pain. It was almost as if it was never ending. Why her?

"I honestly don't even know what to say to you right now Kendra. I pray I'm able to get that image outta my head. I gave you your chance to change but you deliberately disobeyed me."

"You told me not to leave the house. I didn't leave the h..." She was silenced by a punch straight to her jaw which caused her to whimper in pain.

"Don't talk back. You and I know what you did was wrong. But it's alright. A lot of things are gonna change in this house soon. Just pray you're up for it." Bret warned as he stormed out of his room leaving her on the floor, whimpering in pain.

End of Flashback

"Hey, hey, hey!" The shouts of Scott brought Kendra out of her daze. "Where were you? You're crying" He observed. Kendra wiped away her tears as she stood up and ran away. Scott tried to grab her but she panicked and slapped him across the face. It stung and the surprise from it made him let her go instantly as she ran away. "Kendra wait... fuck!" He swore. Wondering what the hell had just transpired he touched the side of his face where she slapped. If it was some other girl, he'd have gone after her and made her pay but this girl...

A blind man could tell something was up with her but too bad he couldn't find out. The chances of them ever seeing again was no doubt astronomical.

With that thought in his head, Scott noticed a shiny black device and picked it up. It turned out to be Kendra's slide up phone. He chuckled.

Maybe the chances of him seeing her again were not as astronomical as he thought.

Well, I would like to apologize for not updating. I've been incredibly busy and I was a bit affected by the passing of Scott Hall. This very chapter was incredibly hard to write (both mentions of Scott and the sexual themes) but I felt it was necessary as he was supposed to be mentoned later on in the story either way.

This chapter is a bit different from my usual writing style so I'd love to hear reviews on your thoughts about this chapter. Stay tuned. Brie loves you.
