Blood Scenario

Chapter 27: The Rescue Mission

Maddie's POV

I knocked at the door I presumed to be Ruki's bedroom door, and I was proven to be correct when he opened the door.

Then he grimaced.

"Overjoyed to see me, I guess?" I smiled innocently.

"Couldn't be happier," he sarcastically spat, and I giggled and waddled into his room, making myself comfortable on his bed and sighing when I hit the mattress.

"Excuse me? Who invited you in?" Ruki complained.

"I did," I retorted.

"And who the heck are you?"

"Somebody who'll be your bestie in a few more seconds," I yawned.

Ruki humorlessly chuckled, "Look at the confidence!"

"Always had it in me," I flipped my hair.

"Get off my bed," he sternly commanded. At his "request", I laid down and tried to act seductive, "Make love to me, oh, my prince!"

He made the most disgusted face ever.

"Out."

"Eh…"

"I said get out right now," he repeated, "I can't stand you, not at this hour."

"Why not at this hour? Is this the time for you to go to a spa or something?" I questioned, and he stood quietly.

Taking that as a cue to continue, I did, "Imagine a vampire spa. What would the masseuse do when you get all horny and in blood lust? They would keep bottles of blood ready for y'all to consume, yes they would. Oh, and would they be disgusted by your wrinkly skin because, like, you've been alive for ages. Wait, do you guys have wrinkly skin?"

"…Are you done?" he sighed.

"Show me your abs," I blurted out. He paused for a second, and then rushed towards me and pulled me up harshly with my elbow.

"This is so dramatic! Ah, is this a fanfiction?"

Everyone looked at the author, who smiled nervously.

Anyway, back to the story.

"Get out of my room," he pulled me along, opened the door of his room, and then left me outside. Before he could close the door, I made puppy eyes and hastily spoke, "Treat me like your sister, if not a girlfriend!"

I saw his blue-grey eyes fixate on me for a brief second, and I swear on my life that I have seen those eyes somewhere – I couldn't recall where. But those seemed oddly familiar.

"You're weird," he spoke, closing the door on my face, waking me up from my trance. I shrugged, beginning to walk to another door to trouble someone, when the huge glass windows in the living shattered, creating a loud sound which went reverberating through the house.

The doors opened rapidly, everyone rushing out of their rooms hastily to see the ordeal. I sprinted to the living room to see what had happened, when I saw him.

"Here he comes!" I rejoiced dramatically, "My knight in shining armor, my savior, my one and only-"

"Shut the fuck up," he – Subaru – spoke, averting his eyes and possibly blushing. I knew him all too well to know that he was flustered.

Behind him, Ayato's annoying voice sounded, "Get aside, you jerk! I was supposed to lead this rescue mission!"

"You too, shut the fuck up."

"Why am I here?" Shuu yawned behind the two. By now, I was expecting the entire Sakamaki clan to appear, but unfortunately, there were only these three.

"Oh, em gee! Ayato!" Yui cried in happiness, dashing towards Ayato to engulf him in a hug. If these two weren't goals, then I don't know who were.

"You guys came to rescue us? Ain't that the sweetest thing ever?" I giggled, and Subaru walked towards me. I opened my arms, thinking he was going to hug me, but then he pushed me aside with one arm, making me fall face first onto the ground.

"What the-" I began, rubbing my nose which had just gotten squished, and looked at Subaru, who had walked up to Ruki.

"You weren't invited here, Sakamaki," Ruki spoke through gritted teeth.

"I wasn't welcomed here very nicely either," he retorted.

"By the way, you've been uninvited," I started singing Billie Eilish's COPYCAT, and Kou joined in, "'Cause all you say are all the same things I did!"

Both of us high-fived.

Subaru looked at us and briskly walked to us, and holding Kou by the collar, he thundered, "What do you want from her?!"

"Easy, bro, I was just giving her a high-five!" Kou spoke, weirded out.

"You're literally stealing my thunder," Ayato complained.

"FIRST GIVE US THE COMPENSATION FOR BREAKING OUR GLASS WALL, BITCH!" Yuma spoke up.

"THAT'S ALL YOU CARE ABOUT?" Ayato yelled back.

From the corner, Shuu sighed, "Be the eldest, they said. It would be fun, they said."

"Dude, literally nobody told you to be the eldest," Kou remarked.

"Piss off."

"Why are y'all here anyway?" I questioned, and Subaru left Kou's collar, and grabbed my wrist, dragging me away from the chaos, saying, "We're going home."

How romantic!

"Stop! You can't take them!" Yuma shot.

"Uh huh? And why do we need to listen to you?" Ayato sardonically spoke.

"Leave them here, or we're telling your father," Kou argued.

"BITCH, DO I LOOK LIKE-" Ayato started laughing, but his laugh came to an abrupt halt when Ruki dialed up their fathers' number.

"Fuck."
