Bandit
I peeked my small head out of the Ivy covered cave we lived in, I had control over elements! This was amazing! Dad would win the war obviously and I can go to school to train for the elements! I wonder if Heather has any?
"Bandit! Wait up!" she called after me.
"Shh! I'm going on an adventure!" smirked I smirked gleefully at her stumbling out while my Mom was hunting, "You can come to, sis, but we have to be back before Mom!"
"We do this All the time and Every time you act like I don't know the drill, have you forgotten I was the one who snuck out first?" she snorted to me before whisking herself out of the den bolting to our usual spot.
We ran around the Arches and went through the small cottages before finally squeezing our way through to a hidden patch, we had worked hard with dad to clear all the thorns, surprisingly despite looking as if hardly anyone came here most of the Thorn bushes grew in a very specific way, around the place… we only removed the stray bushes once noticing that.
With or without thorn bushes it was stunning, the sunlight always seemed to hit it perfectly, and there was even water, I honestly never knew why Mom and Dad didn't settle here instead, they said something about it being spiritual or something though.
"Hey race you up top!" I shouted scrambling up towards the top of the mountain out of the small flower alcove.
My sister ran up much more easily with her longer legs unlike my small gray nubs as small bits of stones tumbled out from underneath me. I felt my frustration growing, I always needed Dad's help whenever we climbed up to sit on the arch.
"Come on slowpoke," laughed Heather already not only up the ridge but on the Arch peering down at me.
Eventually I pattered up to sit on the ridge next to Heather, " When do you think Dad's going to be home?"
"Soon! He has been gone for ages! Over a year!" chirped Heather, "When he gets back we are going to have so many adventures and Mom can finally take a break,"
"Yeah! And I am going to show him my new powers!" I squeaked happily as a seagull flew past and I tentatively reached out one paw to see if I could touch it.
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot about those…"
"How could you forget!?" I squawked indignantly to her batting her on her ear
"Wait is that Mom!? I said looking in the distance a small shape was coming closer.
"We have to go!" yelped Heather obviously getting to the same assumption I had, right when we were about to move we saw our mother walk by and we froze.
Our Mom slowly trotted by us not noticing, "We have to take the short cut!" I whispered.
"You know I don't climb small stuff well!"
With some protesting we started to walk across the small arch, we were good at jumping if we ran across-
My paw rapidly slipped in the rush and I was hanging on with only one nub, Sister tried to grab me but I had already fallen.
Wind was whizzing by me, I had never practiced falling from the height! I panicked flailing, before everything went black.
I woke up in my bed back in the cave, I didn't even care if Mom was mad I WAS ALIVE!
I took a glance at my mother glaring at me… maybe dead was better actually...
"What were you two doing!?" she hissed at us.
"W-we went exploring…" stuttered my sister after a pause.
I tried to get up but my left nub paw screeched in protest and I slumped in defeat.
"Why did you come home early Mama?" I asked, trying to switch the subject, causing my mother's gaze to cast down...
"B-because… your father… is dead…" sputtered out my mother as me and my sisters eyes grew larger than an owls.
