Chapter 35: Da Police Is Afta Me

Maddie's POV

"Okay, okay," I chuckled, raising my hands in a surrender motion, "So you're telling me that I'm one of you?"

"Not exactly," Reiji folded his arms, "We're full-blooded vampires since birth. You, on the other hand, are suspected to be a half-blooded entity."

"Shut the fuck up, Sakamaki," I rolled my eyes, "I-"

"Oh, so you are aware that you're becoming a half-blood, Madison?" came the Ketchup Lord's voice from the door to the hall.

"Wow, look who decided to show up! The one and only tomato ketchup brand!" I sarcastically spat, and I heard chuckles behind me. I turned around to realize that it was Ayato who had chuckled, and that except Yui, everyone else had teleported to the living hall.

Speaking of Yui, the door behind Karlheinz flung open to reveal a panting Yui, breathing heavily, and upon seeing Karl bro (ew) right in front of her, she squeaked and fell back on her butt.

"Now that all of us are here," Karl bro (ew) said, "Let's discuss the matter at hand."

"What matter?" I questioned.

"About you being a half-blood," he showed a sickly sweet smile to me, and I made puking noises at him.

"Real mature, Maddie, real mature," Shuu mumbled.

"Anyways," I clapped my hands once, "I feel tired and… thirsty?"

Subaru made a knowing face at that, and I shook my head at him, "What?"

"I have this here," Karl bro (ew) showed me a glass of red liquid, which looked thick and sort of appealing.

"Is that wine?" I asked, licking my lips, "Can I try that?"

"Wine?" Karl bro (ew) chuckled, playing with the slim glass between his fingers, "Do you smell something?"

"What? Fishy?"

"No- is this drink tempting to you?" he smirked, and I helplessly nodded, the odor of the wine-like liquid capturing my senses and tempting me to no end. I was just about to pounce on him to snatch that drink out of his hands when he laughed and spoke,

"That's human blood, Madison."

I paused, trying to process everything. I looked at Yui, whose eyes widened, and then at the Sakamaki brothers, who gave me an obvious look.

And then I gasped.

"OH, MY FUCKING GOD?" I screamed, "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THIS!"

"Maddie-" Yui tried, but I intervened.

"I'M A VAMPIRE?"

"Madison, control your emotions-" Reiji tried as well.

"I'M A PUNCUTERER? IMMA BITE INTO HUMANS?"

"Madd-" Laito couldn't even complete when I let out a shrill scream,

"I WILL HAVE TO DRINK CHOLESTEROL-FILLED BLOOD TO LIVE?"

"MADDIE!" Subaru shook me by the shoulders, "RELAX!"

I breathed hard, and then a thought struck me, making me smirk.

"Wait, so you're telling me that I have super strength and can teleport like the guy whom the police were after?" I questioned.

"Huh?" Kanato squinted his eyes at me.

"DA POLICE IS AFTA ME! WHAT DO I DO?" I reenacted the vine, and nobody laughed, so I cleared my throat and straightened up.

"Yes, you can do that," Karl bro (ew) (i don't even know why I call him Karl bro) spoke, and my eyes went back to the glass in his hands.

Without even thinking, I leaped forward, catching everyone off-guard, and seized the glass from him, spilling half the drink but downing the rest of it.

Everyone stared at me as I gulped it down, and then wiped off the residue stuck on my lips with the back of my hand.

"What? I don't judge you when you drink blood," I spoke nonchalantly.

"It's… odd seeing you do that," Ayato confessed.

"I-"

"So this is it?" Subaru scoffed, "You've become a monster like us too?"

"Huh?" I was perplexed.

"You'll have blood lusts too… You're no longer a human!" he slammed his fist on the wall he was previously leaning on, creating a huge dent.

"Whoa, calm your tiddies, car," I widened my eyes, but before I could speak more, he turned away and vanished into thin air.

Silence.

"Yo," I cut through the awkward silence, "Can I do that too?"

Yui sighed, "My ship si never gonna sail this way."
