Bandit
"Pardon me for inquiry but what are you called young Elekity?" asked Don fanning out her tail as if I hadn't said anything.
"Bandit," I said proudly before adding quietly, "You aren't going to tell anyone about… you know,"
"I have no idea what you mean," she said with a small smile on her face.
"Thank you," I said to her.
"Want to hear me play?" asked Don, taking out a very old looking flute with strange markings on it.
"Yes please," I said forgetting all about wanting to go home, this was so exciting, someone like me!
She grabbed it and began to play it, she was a master at it. It was an enchanting song that she played, I suddenly began to feel drowsy. My eyelids felt like lead as I started to droop. I yawned. It had been a long day maybe a little rest wouldn't hurt...the music was still echoing in my ears. I shook my head trying to clear my mind, I still needed to get home after this…
I glanced towards Don wanting to tell her that I needed to get home… "That would be rude though wouldn't it?" I thought as my eyelids began to close and I wanted nothing more than to curl up and take a long nap, I hardly even noticed my breathing slowing or my body going limp.
I woke up groggily, cold and alone in a cage. In a panick I tried to ram myself against the bars provoking laughter from the others.
"Ehe!" cackled one.
"I haven't had this much entertainments in weeks!" yelled another Ertherian that resembled a donkey.
"Look at this pathetic little Elekity! Haha!" said an Umbris roaring in laughter, from one of the upper corners of this creepy tree like place.
I felt my face getting hot, and my cheeks started to puff up a little, I didn't want this! I wanted to be home! With Mom and my sister! What had even happened!?
A Hawktus looked up up with a glare, they were imprisoned in a spindly cage that matched them, "Oh you should have seen him when he first showed up here who knows how long ago, he was easily half his size and much less grumpy. His mother always scolded him-"
"DO NOT BRING MY MOTHER INTO THIS!" roared the Umbris shaking the cage he was suspended in.
"Keep the noise down!"
"Some of us are trying to sleep!"
"I have never hated someone more than you."
"NOBODY CARES!"
"I hate you too!"
"Who's gonna tell the kid?"
"Not me!"
"Blah blah blah blah blah!"
"By the spirits your so annoying!"
"WOW REAL MATURE!"
"ITS NIGHTTIME SHEESH GO TO SLEEP!"
"LET ME GUESS YOU NEED YOUR BEAUTY REST!?"
"I NEED MY BEAUTY REST- HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT!?"
"You say it EVERY night PRINCESS"
"YEAH WELL YOUR TOO FOND OF TEDDY BEARS"
"HEY THAT'S PERSONAL!"
"LITERALLY EVERYONE KNOWS!"
They reminded me of when me and my sister were stuck in the cave for nearly a month after a hurricane had struck from the sea.
Voicing my thoughts another said, "We have been spending way much time together."
"IVE BEEN HERE NO LESS THAN 10 YEARS! OF COURSE WE ARE SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME TOGETHER!" screeched one from a dark corner.
As they began making a ton of commotion that was certain to draw attention by whatever thing had taken me here.
I could hardly think about my situation with them yelling over each other. What happened in the swamp-
"REMEMBER THE TIME SATINE CRIED LIKE A BABY BECAUSE A SPIDER WAS WITHIN 5 FEET OF HER!?"
Wasn't it that thing that looked like a flower?
"FOR GOODNESS SAKES I THOUGHT IT WAS POSIONOUS"
The nonstop yelling I had somehow caused, or perahphs it was always there and I had merely slepped through it seemed to go on and on. It was nighttime in a dark cavelike place, branches hanged above us and I was seated on the platform in the center.
Which was why when everyone went completely and utterly silent I felt a chill creeping up in my bones.
Why had everyone gone silent?
My answer had come in the sound of creaking wood, something had stepped onto the platform.
The others stared in hushed silence.
But the shadow was not of a large looming predator and instead a small midget like creature who hissed in defiance and fright. Heck they were smaller than even me!
"Psst, can you get us out kid?" asked one of the creatures.
Everyone of the creatures seemed to be using puppy eyes and begging techniques and I followed suit, clawing at my cage.
"Your paws may be small enough to get through the lock," suggested a Tesline-Hawctus. Swishing their tail back and forth. "And I am reading your thoughts."
What? Was that their power? I faintly recalled powers that wasn't just elemental abilities from where Cherry would talk and talk and talk.
"Rude." the green creature muttered in response to whatever the green and blue elekity was thinking. For some reason they seemed almost… familiar.
"Ok…" they said hesitantly, glancing around, "I'll do it."
He ever so slowly went closer, to a cage housing a small Tarabi, sparks springing from his paws. Before anything could happen, a long shadow appeared, and a sinister laugh. In trotted in a familiar face, but it was no where near as pleasant as before.
Suddenly I understood what the others were so afraid of.
"Well well well, look what we have here," chuckled Don snatching the potential hope and throwing them into a cage near mine.
