Chapter 37: "I don't have think"

Maddie's POV

"Mother?"

"No, I ain't your mama," I spat, vibing to the song now playing in my head.

However, Ruki's eyes were glued to the pictures on the wall, and as I impatiently waited for him to say something, he finally mumbled, "Who… is this man beside her?"

"Him? That's my dad," I spoke, pointing at the handsome man on the picture. In the snap, my mother was sitting on a royally decorated chair with me, as an infant, in her arms. My dad stood behind her, his hand on her shoulder, and my sister stood beside my dad, slightly older than me.

"And her?" Ruki hastily questioned, "Who's that?"

"That's my sis! She's the coolest!"

"Are you two… blood-related?" he painfully let out.

"…Naww, she's from my dad's first wife. But she's very close to me! And... why would you ask that?" I rambled in uncertainty since I had absolutely no idea where this conversation was going.

Ruki pursed his lips, moving his gaze to look at me. His eyes were intense, laced with some emotion I couldn't figure. His eyes seemed to be analyzing each of my moves – and dawg, I wasn't even moving that much – and he then looked back at the picture.

"This can't be happening…!" he finally shrieked out, stepping back in horror.

"Bruh, even I wasn't scared of you when I was a human. Are you suddenly intimidated by me?" I wiggled my eyebrows.

"Can you please take something seriously?!" he snapped, "You cannot be…!"

"Wha-"

"You can't be my sister!"

Awkward silence, caw caw caw.

Did he just-

"What the fuck?" I raised a brow, "Dude, I know you don't like me that much, but sister-zoning me? Have some respect!"

"I'm not playing around!" Ruki stomped over to the picture behind me, and pointing an accusing finger at my mom's face, he yelled, "That's my mother!"

"No, that's my- Oh."

My thoughts came to a screech like that of a car when you're useless and save it before it ends up colliding with a wall (I'm sorry, that was too long an example). I stood straight, face like that of a stonks meme guy, and I opened my mouth to speak, and in sheer panic and confusion, all that came out was the legendary,

"It's Wednesday, my dudes…" and then I screamed; intentionally but also unintentionally.

Ruki looked a hundred percent done with my bullshit.

"WHO SCREAMED?" Subaru appeared in my room without knocking – wait, why would he knock though?

I stood in astonishment of the worst kind, and one by one, all the Sakamaki brothers collected in my room. Yui caught up not so long after, and I was grateful that the ketchup lord didn't appear yet.

"What's… going on… guys?" Yui panted, and I pitied the girl for running everywhere whenever some drama occurred.

"Guys…"I dramatically paused, trying to process the newfound revelation. If Ruki was supposedly my brother, then did that explain me becoming a vampire? But if I was meant to be a vampire from birth, then why were we both half-bloods? Shouldn't we be pure vampires?

Too much energy consumption. I swear to god, I need a sugar rush.

"Kanato! I want your sweets!" I suddenly spoke up.

"NEVER! NEVER WILL I EVER GIVE YOU MY SWEETS! YOU HALF-BLOODED IMPURITY! YOU LOWER-CLASS SWINE! I SHALL NEVER, AND NEITHER SHALL TEDDY-" Kanato, as always, was dramatically screaming.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, OH MY, GOD!" Yui screamed, and then shook me by the shoulders, "WHY ARE YOU SO SHOOK, GIRLIE? WHAT DID THAT PEDO DO TO YOU?"

"I-I'M A PEDO?" Ruki was taken aback.

"He didn't do anything…" I spoke up, almost inaudibly, but she still heard me.

"Then what is it?" Yui asked in concern.

"Yeah! Why the actual fuck did you scream?" Ayato asked roughly.

"What is the meaning of this, Madison?" Reiji respectfully questioned.

"…" I was still trying to process the situation.

"What a waste of time; I thought I was gonna see some drama," Laito tucked his hands behind his head.

"Exactly. I woke up for no reason," Shuu yawned.

"What is it?" Subaru's tone of voice was gentle. Why was he so cute, oh god!

I looked at Ruki, and with wide eyes, I gave an amazing answer,

"I don't have think."

"What?" Subaru probably thought I was strange (doesn't he already, though?), and Reiji facepalmed.

I thought the elite didn't facepalm? What a duffer, Reiji!

No, because I'm the duffer here – how would I figure out what Ruki and my true connection was-

That's when I remembered that one polite conversation I had with Karl bro (ew). That talk in which he asked how my mom was.

I gasped dramatically, and everyone looked at me in anticipation, as if I was going to clear their confusion. But no, I have swag and I'm a kewl kid so I don't do that. Also because I'm the protagonist of this story.

So I yelled, "KETCHUP LORD! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?"

A poor attempt at carrying forward the storyline lmaooo I had to add this chapter because it's Maddie we're talking about.
