I couldn't believe this was happening. I was left alone without my brother or mother. My tawny colored fur stuck out like a sore thumb in the darker colored pine forest. Still I was determined to find them. My short stubby legs refused to move, I got the short end of the stick, I got my mother's side of the family. My brother on the other paw had short stumpy paws but he was able to almost hop easily around, meanwhile mine had to stretch long and far to keep pace which was just exhausting.

I had never been this far away from home without my mother or father, it felt almost fun and exhilarating to be trotting through the woods completely alone, my paws seemed to almost buzz with anticipation.

Still I eventually reached the swamp only to find it abandoned. I began to sniff around, it still smelled disgusting, I couldn't detect their scents, though that was to be expected.

That was until I heard the sounds of battle from outside the mist, and what I saw shocked me, it was my Mom battling a hulking petaly blue thing. I made a muffled sound of shock, what was going on?

I followed them slowly, their attacks burning the ground, I wasn't close enough to hear what was happening but they sure did leave a trail of destruction.

Then I crashed headfirst into my idiot brother, he was only slightly taller than me thanks to his large ears which I found infuriating. "What's going on?!" I shouted.

"Idon'tknow! I got captured by this reallycreepy old fox lady and she trapped me! Itwassoscary! But don't worry! Imadeafriendhisnameis Swamp Idontknowwhere he is but he is here! I think! Comeonwegottago!" he said his words mashing together and then dragged me along, I had no idea what he said but I just went along with it.

We ran and ran blindly through the woods, I doubted he even knew where he was going, every passing second I was falling behind but he came to a skirting stop in front of another confused elekity.

I didn't recognize either of them so naturally I went on the defensive. My brother spoke before me, "Are they an enemy?"

The green and blue elekity shook his head, "Who's he?!" I hissed, he looked familiar but I had to be sure, my nerves were already frayed I just wanted a straight answer.

"Swamp. I don't have time for talking. These two will figure out what to do all we have to do is buy them time." said Swamp curtly gesturing his gray paw to himself and making some sort of battle cry in which sounded more like a dying cow.

Still we followed him, my claws scraped her tail taking several tufts out which was the closest I had come to harming her. She was just too fast! I was shocked one of us wasn't dead yet. I narrowed my eyes at her, was she just toying with us!?

I growled launching myself at her, when I did though I landed headfirst into the sand, but oddly enough she wasn't looking at me anymore, then before I could react there was a loud slam as two bodies were shot away.

I needed to do this smart, when I looked around though a ton of carbon copies were around me, I slowly creeped forward. If I could get one good shot…

A wave slammed into the clones though and they dissipated into the dust that they were. "I hear you." the purplish-blue Aizune said, ""Don't think you can get away. Stay and play."

One of her feet almost smashed into my skull, maybe this was too close. I backed up behind a bush a similar color to me, not that it mattered since I was invisible-

A resounding clap proved me wrong and then there was my brother, out in the open.

"Hehe, what do we have here? A lost little kitty, don't worry I'll bring you home again!" she laughed reaching out for him, as she grabbed him with her slender paws he bit into her shocking her full of electricity. She yowled loudly. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT YOU LITTLE BRAT!", Summoning a dark black ball of plasma and a row of thorns began to grow one by one around them, I had to leap back to avoid getting impaled, there was no way I could jump over and save my brother. I could only watch in horror.

Then my mother shot in front of him in the last second and then I was tossed into the air and lost consciousness.
