"Where were you last night, Hurricanepaw!?" hissed Tsunamipaw when we were alone in the camp.

"W- what do you um mean?" I asked nervously. Did she know I went to see Whitepaw!?

"Where were you last night, and don't tell me you went to make dirt!" pressed on Tsunamipaw, getting up in my face.

I forced the fur bristling on my shoulders down and tried to make my voice calm. "I went out, I went out for a walk, and came back, maybe I stayed out longer than I thought but I stayed around the camp." I lied.

My sister's eyes narrowed, I could see she did not trust me, but slowly nodded and walked away to tell our mother how the training went. When I saw to mischievous kittens, Volekit with his light brown fur and blue eyes and Russetkit a red mollie with blue eyes, they each looked like spitting images of their parents. They were creeping along the edge of the wall and glancing at the outside.

I trotted over and they jumped in alarm. "Erm what are you doing here Hurricanepaw? We were just playing a new game!," muttered Russetkit in shock.

"Oh really? What's the game called? Sneak out of camp?" I asked in amusement. Volekit instantly bolted with Russetkit right on his heels. One job done, not that I have not sneaked out of camp once or twice. "In Fact I did it last night" I thought with a laugh.

"Let all cats gather beneath Long ledge for a clan meeting!" called out Ashstar. I walked over to the rock wondering what was going to happen, before I saw my little siblings Squrrielkit, Harekit, and Littlekit all nicely groomed and eager.

"Littlekit step forward" Littlekit bounded over practically jumping up and down in anticipation. "This cat is old enough to be an apprentice, his new name is Littlepaw before he has proven himself to be worthy of a warrior name and rank, his mentor will be Shrewfox your a smart and fierce warrior and I hope you can pass that onto Littlepaw," Ashstar said. I watched the ceremony feeling a surge of pride for my little brother.

"Harekit step forward" they peered up nervously at the leader before taking the longest time to go up, when he reached there Ashstar whispered something to him to reassure him, " This cat is old enough to be an apprentice, his new name is Harepaw before he has proven herself to be worthy of a warrior name and rank, his mentor will be Shadestream, your a experienced and brave warrior I hope you will teach all you know to this apprentice," he said to both of them.

"And lastly but certainly not least, Squrrielkit step forward" Squrrielkit ran over and practically acted as if he was saying she was deputy, "This cat is old enough to be an apprentice, her new name is Squrrielpaw before she has proven herself to be worthy of a warrior name and rank, her mentor will be Brightnose you're a fine warrior and I hope you can pass that onto Squirrelpaw," Ashstar said. At this Squrielpaw tossed her head triumphantly and jumped down to brag to her siblings about her mentor, while the rest of the cats chanted their names.

I admit that I did not actually really listen to the whole ceremony, when I heard a cat call me over, "Hey! Hurricanepaw! Me and Littlepaw are apprenticed together this is so cool!" cried out Tsunamipaw bouncing about and down like a kit.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Your kidding right?" then a shadow flicked somewhere in the trees, was someone watching us, but who? "Well we have nobody to train him separately... all the warriors are taken! I bet when we become warriors it will be so much easier for them!" I ignored my sisters answer and bounded off into the woods where I saw the shadow disappear to. This thing was really not good at being here at all! It was crunching the leaves and getting hit by low tree branches all the time, I quickly caught up to them, and I practiced my crouch and pounced at the cat, slamming into their head accidentally and landing on my back.

"Ow" I thought.

"Hurricanepaw?!" asked the white tom.

"Who else would I be? Last I checked my sisters aren't my identical twins… what are you doing here?! Someone could catch you!" I hissed flattening my ears.

"Its just been a while since we have seen each other, I thought maybe I could catch you alone... to ask if you wanted to meet again tomorrow night instead?" he asked hesitantly still scanning the trees.

"Maybe maybe not… it depends… dont stay up all night waiting though, and by golly a fox could run quieter than you, oh and we met last night!" I said before whisking off back to camp.
