"Um.. Kaa-chan, why are we down here and not with Ten-chan?" Naruto asked. They went to the Uzu library and beneath it was an underground training field. The pathway to the middle ground was surrounded by a waterfall and an underground lake, in the middle of the lake was an island with a small forest. Naruto and Kushina were on the island, Naruto sitting criss-cross and Kushina standing with a wooden sword resting on her shoulder. She was wearing a sleeveless white kimono and a green skirt with stockings to match Naruto was wearing the same but instead of a skirt he was wearing baggy pants.
"We will be training Naruto, you're from a clan and a powerful one but tenten is not. It took three major villages to destroy our small one and they lost 80% of their soldiers in the attack and just like your father, I wiped out a thousand shinobi in the last war. This means that you, who have both our blood, will be the strongest of your age. I will make that happen. Now how much do you know about chakra?" Kushina asked, in sensei mode.
"I know you use chakra to do different jutsu and everyone has it in different amounts." Naruto answered.
Kushina nodded at the five years old. "Good but there's much more. Chakra is the combination of spiritual and physical energy. It's true that you use it to create jutsu, but that's not all. You also use it to strengthen yourself and practically do anything you put your mind to like move faster, become stronger and much more. You were also correct when you said it comes in different amounts. Our clan was born with an abnormal amount of chakra and not only that.." Kushina closed her eyes and channeled her chakra around her. Naruto's eyes widened when he saw streams of blue energy around her and there was a lot. Also droplets of water were rising in the air and a small gust swirling around. "You see, while chakra can't be seen, ours clearly can and by releasing it, it affects the elements around us. My element is wind, water and fire."
"So that's why the water is floating and the wind is strong." Naruto said.
"That's right, you're pretty smart." Kushina complemented. Naruto chuckled before Kushina continued the explanation. "You see there's more to chakra, what most people don't realize is that the more chakra you're born with, the stronger the body. Think of it like a body of water, the bottle is our body and the water is the chakra. When you have a lot of water, you need something to contain it. The denser the amount, the stronger the container needs to be. So if we Uzumaki's are born with a lot of chakra…"
Naruto paused to think about it. so the bottle contains the water, people contain chakra.' Which means the more water we have means. "We are born stronger?" Naruto answered.
"'Yes, we are physically born stronger than most people. Also because chakra is part of physical energy, we found a way to use it to alter our muscles for our kenjutsu techniques and taijutsu. You see, most people would just add chakra to enhance their strength and speed. We use it as one with our body and mind, instead of separately but that's not all. Whatever our affinity is, it helps even more. Wind never sits still, water is patient and balanced and fire is aggressive and destructive. Naruto watch closely." Naruto watched his mom as she closed her eyes, he felt the wind being pulled towards Kushina. Kushina jumped up in the air and kicked towards water, sending a gust of wind to the lake. When she landed on the ground, there was no noise and when she started to run, there was a gust of wind behind her. "Sochi, throw some kunais at me."
Naruto picked some kunais and threw it towards his mom. Kushina ran towards the Kunai's twirled through the first few. Two more came at her but she didn't seem worried, she swiped her hand at the first, creating a small gust, deflecting it. The last one she jumped on top of it, using it to leap higher in the air and as she fell, she slowly levitated towards the ground. Naruto had stars in his eyes. "How did you jump on that, you looked like you were flying?!"
Kushina chuckled at her son, he was the most adorable thing. "I guess you can say, I became one with the wind. I made my muscles lighter and connected my chakra with the wind around me. Then I manipulated both the wind and my movements as they were on, using my chakra as the link temporarily combing my affinity with my muscles this is what you'll learn. Fuinjutsu, kenjutsu, taijutsu, ninjutsu and elemental manipulation. All this is our goal and to start off our training, I need you to take off your clothes except your underwear."
Naruto tilted his but shrugged. He did as instructed and took off his clothes. "Ok, now what?"
Kushina pulled out a brush and ink and dipped the brush in the black substance. She began to draw some seals on her son's body, starting from the chest and going towards the limbs. Then she drew another seal on his back, then towards the limb. "And done. Now before I activate the seals and explain what the seal does, we need to unlock your Chakra. So sit down and meditate."
Naruto sat in a criss cross formation and closed his eyes. "Now what?"
"Now concentrate, look within your mind for something warm and full of energy. It should look like a pound. Once you see it.." Kushina was cut off when chakra erupted from Naruto's body. She couldn't help but feel pride in her son. 'Just like a Uzumaki but to unlock it in one go reminds of..' she put her hand over her heart but shook the thought. "You did good, Sochi. Now Inryoku fuin and Chakra teiko. Shiru Kassei-ka!"
Naruto and Kushina's bodies both started glowing. "Kaa-chan it burns." Naruto cried.
Kushina gritted her teeth in pain. "I know Naru-kun, just fight it." Naruto nodded and bore the pain. When the seals died down, they both felt heavy and exhausted . "Dang, I forgot how much this makes your body ache. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the painful part."
"It's ok." Naruto tried to get up but fell back on his butt. "My body feels heavy and wobbly."
"That's the seals. It puts weight on our bodies, building up muscle and speed. The other limits how much chakra we use and it builds our reserves and strengthens our tenketsu. Now for the other part of our training, I'm going to teach you your first jutsu."
"Really? What kind of jutsu?" Naruto asked excitedly.
"I'll show you. Kage Bunshin no jutsu." Kushina created two clones of herself.
"Huh? But aren't those just fakes? They disappear when you touch them right, it's just an illusion." Naruto said.
"No, those are regular bunshin." the first clone said.
"We're solid, see?" the second clone said as they approached naruto and started tickling him, making him laugh.
"Oy! We have to train, remember dattebane?" the real Kushina said.
"We couldn't resist. Our Sochi is adorable and pretty smart." Kushina nodded in understanding.
"I agree, sochi. Please perform the jutsu and try to hold back a little." Kushina instructed.
"I got it kaa-chan, Kage Bunshin no jutsu." Naruto performed the jutsu and made 5 clones. When they looked at each other, they began to cheer. "Yeah! We did it, dattebayo." The real Naruto began to feel tired and fell to the ground. "Why do I feel tired?"
"The resistant seal is limiting how much chakra you use. I forgot to mention. The seal has levels. You're using level one and I'm using level 3. I used to be at a higher level but I've been out of commission. One of my clones will take two of yours and start a chakra control exercise and the other will take the last two and teach you calligraphy, how to write with your chakra. You and I will do some physical exercise to get used to the weights." Kushina instructed.
"Alright, I will be the strongest in the world Kaa-chan!" Naruto cheered.
Kushina just responded with a smile. 'I know you will. By the time we head back to the village, you'll be stronger than your father when he was your age. I make sure at any cost that no one will take anymore family members from me.' Kushina then frowned when she thought of 'that' training method she will have to put her son through. 'Calm down Kushina, it's for the best. After all, what's the point of training if you can't show it. It might scar the both of us but it will strengthen our resolve and help him gain killing experience but the question is, am I strong enough to go through with it? We still have 4 years.'
3 years later.
Hiruzen rubbed his temples, he knew the council would call a meeting concerning Naruto. Well not exactly the council, most likely the elders and Danzo. 'Well let's get this over with.' Hiruzen thought before going inside the council hall.
"Now, I want to know who gave you the right to call this meeting?" Hiruzen asked.
"It's about our jinchuuriki.." Danzo stated.
"Really? The same 'boy' I told you to stay away from? Why call a meeting about something that doesn't concern you?" Hiruzen asked. He decided to play coy and act like he didn't know where the blonde was. Neko returned with Tenten a year ago, so he had her support.
"It concerns everyone, the boy is the weapon for the village. If he's gone, our village will look weak."
"Watch your mouth Danzo, he is not a weapon. He lives and breathes like you. You're just to blind and ignorant to see that."
"You're just too weak and kind hearted. Hiruzen, if trained right, the boy will bring this village to power." Danzo stated.
"And why should you of all people train him? You never trained a jinchuuriki before. What makes you special? Nothing, anyone can train the boy, but you think because it's not your way, it's the wrong way. You are too biased to be trusted." Hiruzen started causing Danzo to seethe. "You don't care if he's strong, you only care about controlling him. For the sake of the village my ass, you can't fool me old friend."
"Regardless, he's missing and we need to find him." Danzo responded.
"Why should we bother? The demon is gone and the village is safe." one of the civilians said. Majority of them agreed. Danzo had to admit, leaking the status of Naruto could possibly cause the young blonde not to return.
"Silence! Now while I don't know the location of Naruto-kun, one of my anbu does." Hiruzen said, lying his teeth out. Neko then appeared next to him, facing the council.
"Indeed, I know where Naruto-kun is located and he is safe from harm." Neko said.
"Well, where is young Uzumaki?" Homura asked.
"That information is classified." Neko said.
"You refuse to answer the council, this could be seen as treason. You will answer the question when asked anbu or do you forget where you stand?" Danzo said.
"Maybe you forgotten you senile old man, but I only answered to the hokage. Not any of you. Also, since Naruto-kun is a civilian who was kicked out on the street, I don't have to divulge information, especially to one who seeks to do him harm." Neko responded.
"You will respect your betters, you forget we are of higher power." one of the civilians said.
"You are not my betters, in fact you are scum. I will never respect a child beater or some one who's so stupid that they can't tell a difference between a jailor and a prisoner. You civilians need to study seals before you open your mouth's." Neko responded, causing the civilians to seethe.
Tsume chuckled. "She got a point, you talk like you know everything but you beat a child because of your hatred. If he really was a monster, would you really attack and provoke him? If you ask me, you deserve to die." the Inuzuka clan head said. The civilian council looked like they were ready to explode.
"Neko-san, is Uzumaki-san truly safe as you say?" Hiashi asked.
"Yes he is, that I can assure. And another thing. Elders and civilian heads, let me give you this warning…you better correct your train of thought before Naruto-kun returns because if you don't, not even Sandaime-sama can protect you." Neko said.
"Are you threatening us?" Koharu asked.
"Oh, I'm not the one you should worry about, I'm just the messenger." The message left everyone confused. Hiruzen chuckled and Danzo tried to figure out what she meant. It was obvious that Naruto was with someone, but who? Neko respected very few people and the fact she wouldn't spill even to her leader made them worry.
Kushina was trying to hold back the tears as she saw her son clutching his missing arm. It's been a while since they up there training, she wasn't sure if this was the right way but that was just her motherly instincts kicking in. she remembered when she informed her son of this grossome training. it
Flashback
It's been 4 years, and Naruto's progress was amazing. He learned the affinity was wind with a little water. He tai-jutus was high chunin, kenjutsu was mid chunin, chakra control was very good and ninjutsu was jonin even though he only knew water and wind. While he was not perfect yet, her goal to make him as strong as a sannin was close. With these two being the last of their clan, they couldn't subjugate themself to light training and uzumaki's are naturally strong, it took the combination of three major villages to destroy hers. But the last part of their training will test their limit and the one she was not looking forward to. "Sochi?"
Naruto( 9 years old.) was sparring with a clone while running up a waterfall, stopped what he was doing and approached his mom. "Yes kaa-chan?"
"Naruto, over the years, your growth has been fantastic and I'm proud to say you easily surpass most chunin and low level jonin. Only very few people were about to do that at your age. (somewhere in the leaf Itachi, Kakashi, Hiruzen and in the shinigami stomach Minato sneezed.) but to truly advance you have to be pushed a little harder which brings us to our most gruesome training." Kushina said before going through some hand signs and placing her palm on the floor. Some seals appeared all over the room and through the water, on the ceiling and everywhere else Naruto looked.
Naruto recognized some of the seals through his studies, he saw the kanji 'time', 'reverse' and 'restore' but he didn't know what the seals did. "What is this kaa-chan?"
"Naruto, to truly get stronger, you also have to gain experience and our clan developed a way to do that within this room. Right now, this whole room is covered in a time restoration seal, which whatever happens within the time the seal was activated, will be restored to normal, understand?"
"Hai, I understand but what's the purpose?" "ahhhh." Naruto asked before gasping when Kushina cut off her arm. Naruto resisted the urge to throw up because he was concerned for his mom. "Kaa-chan, why did you hurt yourself?"
"Just…watch." using her other hand, Kushina snapped her fingers and her body glowed green, returning it to normal. "This technique is meant for the both of us to go all out so we can gain experience. We will attempt to kill each other and the seal will restore us back to normal. I'm not going to lie, this will be painful and brutal, to truly get stronger, we will have to break ourselves. It'll build our pain tolerance and when our body rebuilds itself, we will be stronger."
"But why go so far kaa-chan?"
"Because of your father. If you truly want to use his name, you'll have to be stronger and if you want to combine both our names, you have to be almost unbeatable. If Kumo or Iwa finds out you exist, your life will be endangered and I don't want to lose you.." Kushina finished. Naruto looked down as he was thinking about it. She saw the fear and nervousness in his face, which caused her heart to break. "You don't have to do this.."
"Huh?" Naruto responded confusingly.
"I said you don't have to do this… I know it's scary. I don't want to hurt you and you don't want to hurt me. When I first became a chunin before my village was destroyed, I completed this training with my grandfather. It was torture, almost killing someone you love and admire, broke my heart multiple time but it strengthen me as a person. He didn't force me and I'm not going to force you.. Like I said before, you're at least high chunin right now, your growth is amazing and by the time you are 14, you'll be stronger than most jonin. But if you want to get stronger, this will be important. It's your choice and I won't be upset with whatever choice you make, I will always be proud of you."
Naruto was quiet for a while, he had to admit he was scared but his mom believes in him. Plus she would be hurting as much as him. He wanted to be stronger.. "I'll do it kaa-chan. I won't let you down."
Kushina bent down and patted Naruto's head. "Sochi, you can never let me down."
Flashback end
Kushina held back the heartache since she was used to this sight. Naruto was holding back his tears. "I'm not going to cry…*sob.." Naruto said, grabbing his sword, surrounding his blade with chakra. He then charged his mom with his right hand and jumped over with a twirl and did a horizontal slash. Kushina blocked it effortlessly and kicked Naruto back. She then stabbed him in the shoulder and pinned him to the ground.
Naruto channeled wind chakra into his feet and sent a kick to Kushina's chest but she caught it by channeling an equal amount into her palm. "I am proud of you Naruto-kun, despite the pain, you are still ignoring it and trying to fight. Keep that resolve and you'll get stronger but.." Kushina raised her sword and glared at the blonde. "I won this round." she said before cutting off Naruto's leg.
"Ahhhhh." Naruto cried out in pain, his eyes glowing red.
"Naruto, fight it. You're not ready for Kuruma's chakra yet. Once you're training is over, he'll teach you how to use it." Kushina instructed. She then snapped her fingers and returned Naruto's body back to normal and his injuries were gone. She bent down and was about to stroke his cheek but Naruto flinched in fear. She retracted her hand before Naruto grabbed it.
"I'm sorry, I'm still not used to this. I'm not scared of you." Nartuo said, putting her hand on his cheek. "I will get stronger and beat you."
"I know sochi and sorry if I was a little rough." Kushina said.
"It's ok, it's to help me get stronger. How strong am I?" Naruto asked.
"Hmm, I definitely say low jonin." Kushina asked.
"Really? But I'm only 9 years old." Naruto responded in surprise.
"Naruto-kun, you have to realize that when we arrived here 4 years ago, you used kage bunshin for your fuinjutsu, kenjutsu, chakra control and elemental manipulation. Most of those are jonin level training. What we are doing now is anbu to kage level training. This is abnormal, plus age and strength are two different things. Your fathers student was an anbu at thirteen, I was in anbu at eleven. Heart, experience, and state of mind are the key components to get stronger. By fighting me in this kill training, you're adapting and taking what you learn and putting them in battle. When we get back, you'll be the strongest nin there after me, the sannins and ji-san. No one will hurt you, you will survive."
"I'll work really hard kaa-chan." Naruto said.
"Good, now that our break is over. Time to train again." Kushina said, causing the blonde to pale. Outside the battle zone, multiple kage bunshin of both Kushina and Naruto chuckle at the originals.
4 years later, a figure approached the gate. He was wearing a light blue, tight short sleeve shirt and black cargo pants. He wore fingerless gloves, with a kunai pouch on his right leg. "It's good to be home."
Naruto disappeared in a swirl of wind, passed the guards and was on a pole in the middle of the village. "I could really go for some Ichiraku's but I have to go see the old man first." Naruto said before shunshin away towards the tower. He landed on the balcony, outside the window. when he saw his jiji struggling with the paperwork. He chuckled and slowly opened the window.
"Who's there?" Hiruzen asked without turning his head.
"Hey jij?" Hiruzen paused his paperwork and snapped his head towards the window and saw a blonde with whiskers on his face waving at him.
"Naruto-kun?" Naruto nodded as he stepped in the office. Hiruzen got up and glomp him in a hug. My boy, Kami, only knows how much I missed you."
"Missed you too, jiji." Naruto responded,
Hiruzen stepped back and analyzed Naruto. "You've grown my boy, how have you been?"
"Oh yeah!" Naruto pulled out a scroll and handed it to Hiruzen. Hiruzen opened the scroll.
Dear Hokage-sama,
If you're reading this scroll, it means that Naruto-kun arrived back to the leaf. I want Naruto to enroll into the academy graduation class this year. He;s more than ready. I'll return to Konoha in a month or two after I take care of some business,

Naruto gave him a big wide smile and nodded. "Sure jiji."
"Good, now you only have four months before the team selections but unfortunately for you, no matter the score, you will be the deadlast of the class. I'll inform Iruka of your appearance."
"It's ok jiji, it really doesn't matter what's written on paper in the academy. I'll prove myself on the field." Naruto said before disappearing out the window.
"Wait Naruto, what about living.. He's gone." Hiruzen slumps back in his chair. He was happy Naruto was back but what was Kushina up to.
