Sam and Renesme had fallen asleep early. All the running around and eating, burned them out. It was simply Benjamin and the Cullen's in the family room. The rest of the covens left, promising to come for the wedding. Benjamin asked to stick around for a while, he wanted to see what Forks had to offer. I had settled to sleep on the couch, my head on Carlisle's lap.

"Carlisle we need to fix this problem and fast." Edward whispered.

Carlisle nodded, glancing down at Alex. "I know Edward. But like I have said before, I am not going to break the treaty."

"Okay fine, we can leave Paul for last. But what about the Volturi?" Jasper asked. "They will not stand by after what has happened."

Carlisle a hand through his hair. "I will speak with Aro. He will see it less threatening if I go and speak to him face to face."

"Of course he will. He will kill you!" Emmett hissed, freezing as Alex shifted.

"What else can I do? Another encounter like before will not go as well." He was at a lost. In saving her, he simply put her in an even more dangerous situation.

"What if she says it was done by another vampire?" Alice asked.

Carlisle frowned. "What do you mean?"

"You said blood mating was a way some vampires stole mates." Carlisle nodded. "Then we say one did and you killed him. Her becoming a hybrid was the consequences of that vampires actions."

"Wait, wait, what happens after the sire of the mated one dies?" Rose asked.

"If they were truly mates, the other dies shortly. If they were not, nothing happens. The bond is simply broken." Carlisle said.

Benjamin frowned. "Dies? I mean I have heard of vampires killing themselves. Or looking for revenge on their mates killer. But dying just like that?"

"When you find your mate, you find the one. You feel complete. Nothing else but her matters. She is your life line." His eyes not once leaving Alex. "Blood mating heightens those senses and feelings. But no they don't just die. They find a way to kill themselves. Most of the times it involves the Volturi."

"Why am I not surprised." Rose scoffed.

Carlisle chuckled. "Now is you will excuse me, I will be taking her off to bed." Picking her up, he was gone in a flash.

No POV:

The next morning Alex was up and early. Sam had once more left with the girls to the town. She was really getting spoiled. She was to meet Jacob and his pack for a run in the woods. Carlisle was at work, and the boys were…who knows where. Walking out she was met with Leah, Seth and Jacob.

"Ready?" Jake asked.

"Lets go."

Taking off running they each took a leap, shifting into their wolves. The ground shook under their paws. The wind swept through their furs. Leah and Seth shoved and snapped playfully at each other. Jacob and Alex raced each other to the end of their turf. Ever since Jacob imprinted on Renesme his turf was the Cullen's. The reservation belong to Sam. Reaching the edge, Alex shoved him lightly as she ran down. Jacob on her tail. Alex knew he wouldn't catch, but got to give him props, he was trying.

Reaching the bottom of the cliff, she dropped on her side, panting for breath. Leah laid beside content to simply watch Seth and Jacob fool around.

*How's mated life treating you?* Leah asked.

*We are not mated yet. He is my mate, but we haven't done anything yet.*

*Nothing?*

*Nope, Carlisle wants to ensure my blood sucking side is fully stables, before we try anything.*

She quickly appeared in her eye sight. *What about your heat?*

Alex froze. How could she be so stupid! *I completely forgot!*

*When was your last time?*

*When I got pregnant with Sam.* This was bad. Really bad. *It will be coming soon. What am I going to do?!*

*Okay don't panic, I am sure you can explain this to him.* Leah offered.

Alex shook my head. *It's not the heat itself that bugs me Lea. I know Carlisle and I would mate, it's what happens when we go in heat.* She rolled her eyes at Leah's clueless face. *Any unmated males in the area will know. The last thing I need is a bunch of wolves trying to fuck me.*

Leah snickered. *I am sure Carlisle would love that one.*

*I need to talk with him.*

Running back to the house she quickly showered and changed. Grabbing the car she took off toward the hospital. Walking in, Alex spotted him by the front desk looking over some papers. Her attention was drawn to the two nurses, drooling over him. A small growl slipped, causing him to turn towards her.

He walked over with that beautiful smile and kissed her hello. "Hey, wasn't expecting you."

"I know, but I need to talk with you." She didn't miss the scowls, from the nurses.

He frowned, but walked her to his office. "Now what's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong…yet."

Carlisle raised a brow. "Okay."

"What do you know about us?" She asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Werewolves."

The man shrugged, leaning back into his chair. "Little, just what we have learned from Jacob. Why?"

"Well this is something Jacob probably didn't talk about." Taking a deep breath, she leaned against his desk. "Females go through a heat cycle. They continue to go through it, until they find a mate."

"You already did."

"And they are mated."

Carlisle seemed even more confused. "Okay so what are you trying to say, that you will be having one?" She nodded. "What exactly does that mean?"

"These heats are a 'push' to help us find a mate. We mate and we mate for life, which is why we have them. Not only does it cause our sex drive to enhance, but it is when we are at our most fertile." She allowed that bit to sink in. "There is one more thing. When we go into heat, every unmated wolf within 400 miles will know."

Carlisle's eyes Suddenly went from amber to black. "No one is going to touch you!"

Running to his side, Alex kneeled beside him. "I am simply letting you know what is to come." Allowing him to pull her into his arms, she inhaled his intoxicating smell. "I love you Carlisle."

Carlisle growled at the images flying into his head. He would tear anyone that comes near her to pieces. He had wanted to wait until after they were married, but seemed like that was not going to happen. Or maybe they could. "Do you know when?"

Alex shrugged. "Give or take two months."

"Lets get married next month." Carlisle grinned.

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

Now Alex was happy, but she was also shocked. "Ah, okay. I-I will let Alice and the others know." Pulling him down for a deep kiss, she moaned softly. "Do we really have to wait till we are married?"

Carlisle chuckled. "Yes."

"Fine. I will see you at the house." Giving him one last kiss, she quickly left. Once home she called Alice, Bella and rose down to the living room. "Change of plans regarding the wedding."

Alice gasped. "You cancelled it."

"What? No-why wou-wait did you see me cancelling it?"

Alice quick shook her head. "No, but what other change?"

"It has been moved up." She grinned.

"Next month."

All three girls squealed, talking over each other trying to in put their opinion on the wedding. She was happy to simply let them do what they wanted. All she wanted was to be married to Carlisle. She wanted to be his forever.

Paul hit the tree hard, spitting blood out as he stood.

"How stupid could you really be?!"
