Alex woke to the gentle patter of rain on the roof and thunder rumbling from far away. She pushed the blankets off, immediately feeling the warmth of sleep begin to slip away. Alex swung her feet over the side of the bed and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She stood up, her bare feet pressing softly against the soft carpet, and walked towards the window.
The glass was splattered with rain drops, as even more came down. The clouds swirled lightly above the house, their pale grey color suggesting a long, mild storm. A stream of water came pouring from Klaus's gutter, towards the soaked grass below. Before even getting dressed, she knew a shower was in need. She needed to get this chill out of her body.
Alex stepped into the shower, toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic floor. She turned the dial, old and metallic, releasing thousands of lukewarm drops, darkening her hair and trickled down her back. Her eyes fell closed over and over. Water dripped down harshly past her shoulders, through flaxen hair, and continuing over her large stomach. It expanded out to prove that another being resided within her. Two heartbeats within one stout body. Her back ached as her entire weight relied upon it. Alex looked down at the stretched skin with red vein-like tendrils seeping across the sides, reminding her of an eyeball. Soft white skin, red lines drawn along it. Their heart bangs loudly against her chest, the water from the head of the shower screaming louder, trying to overpower all other noise.
Just then a pain shot through her body, nearly dropping her to her knees. Her fear began to rise, she didn't know what was happening. 'What is this? Why am I in pa-' Then it clicked. Pushing past the pain barrier, she focused on her senses. She caught whiff of and unknown scent. Her scent, it was her daughter! Her water had broken. 'Holy shit! Her pup is coming!' As she tried to step out of the tub, another wave hit her. "Fuck...Elijah!" She wasn't even halfway through her scream, when Elijah came bursting through the bathroom door.
"Alex, what's wrong?!" Elijah reached for a towel, wrapping it around her. "What is it?"
"S-sam is ready." Alex gasped.
"About time." Elijah chuckled, getting a weak slap on the shoulder. "Come lets get you to the hospital."
Elijah quickly dressed her up in sweats and a sweater. Grabbing the planned go-bag and picking her up in his arms, he dashed out the door. "Rebekah! Niklaus! It's time!"
Niklaus walked out from his studio, jingling the car keys in his hand. "I got the car."
"I got the bags and papers!" Becca yelled.
"And I have the fort here." Freya chuckled, watching the others rush out.
With each contraction came a pain that dominated Alex's entire being. In those moments, for those seconds that stretched into infinity, there was nothing else. She could hear screaming from other rooms, yet she made no sound at all. When the pain passed it was only for a minute or so and she breathed with closed eyes, unwilling to re-engage with life outside of her own body. The room might as well have been empty for all the awareness she had, and when they did talk, touch, gain her attention she found it so hard. To reply she had to find herself from the deepest recess of her own mind and drag herself forward, to use her voice, open her eyes. The midwife was telling her that is was time, time to push, finally after hours of labor. With a guttural grunt she did so and was told to stop, one was enough. She felt the baby crowning, the hot stretching of flesh and held her breath. Without any further effort the baby slid into the hands of the midwife. There was elation, a girl at last, and in seconds she was there, nascent eyes opening, mouth rooting for milk.

Alex chuckled as her little pup stretched herself. Samantha was born in the late of night, during a new full moon. In the wolf world, that was a blessing. Wrapping the pink and zebra stripe blanket tighter around her, she placed her gently in the crib. Making sure she stayed asleep, Alex took a seat in the rocking chair.
Elijah walked in at that moment, carrying a small takeout food bag. "I thought you might be hungry."
Alex smiled softly. "Starved."
Handing her the bag, he made his ways towards Sam. Running a hand over her soft hair, he couldn't help but smile. "How has she been?"
"Well she is demanding already." Alex laughed.
"She has your eyes." Elijah whispered.
"She has a lot of her father as well." Alex whispered. She had noticed a few things. Sam may have her eyes, but everything else was her father.
Elijah frowned, tucking the baby in tighter he turned towards her. "Still scared?"
"A little." Alex replied.
Elijah sighed, kneeling in front of her. "Hey, we are here. He can never hurt you again. Not while we are here. Okay."
Leaning forward and giving him a small kiss, she nodded. "Okay."
Time jump:
Alex committed one of the worst mistakes she can commit in her situation. She go comfortable. She no longer remained alerted or guarded from any harm. And that is where she fucked up. Samantha was now five months old and feisty as ever. To everyone's surprised she learned to shift before she could walk in her human form. Werewolf children aged quicker than human babies. At five she was already walking and running. She was able to speak a few words. But what surprised her the most, was Sam's attachment to Elijah. The pup wouldn't let him go. Where he was, she was sure to follow. She was at a good spot in her life, until it all went down hill.
At the break of dawn, Alex found herself running for with Sam in her hanging from her mouth. Elijah has woken her in a frenzy, telling her to run north towards Beacon Hills and to ask for Derek Hale. When she bolted out of the house, she was thrown into the middle of a battle field. Witches, vampires and wolves vs her old pack. Elijah made sure she slipped out undetected.
End of flashback:
"Derek met me halfway to his town. Elijah has called him in advance. I stayed with them for a few months. In that time Derek has become my alpha and Sam has grown. Elijah would check in once in a while, keeping it to a minimal in case anyone was watching him. But in the end I was on the run again. Micheal is relentless in what he wants." Alex spoke the last words with anger. "And he once more had come to try and destroy what I have found and love."
Charlise placed a finger under her chin, making her look up at him. "He can try all he wants Alex, but he will never succeed. This time he is not coming after one coven or one pack. Together, he can't beat us and he won't."
