Whispers of War takes place in an alternate universe where everything is the same until Darkstalker popped up, where Darkstalkers rule lasted longer, as its where Anemone flew straight to Jade Mountain taking it impossible for Winter and Qibli to find the Night kingdom it all worked out in the end but there was much more havoc and Darkstalker enchanted so many more things which are now housed in the Sandwing kingdom being the strongest fortified kingdom despite the Sky Kingdom ( Queen Kindle messed that up ) and the Sea Kingdom which these enchantments can't stand.
This story takes place 2,000 years after the previous events, and despite it feeling like this should be in the past where kingdoms were not evolved. After all the events of the books around 600 years of peace and prosperity and advancement was stripped away, as a downfall of the kingdoms started and about after 200 years of fighting the dragons lost the battle against the mysterious threat that nobody knew about as there was nothing documented this was known as the Dark Age. Where nothing was told, once the dragons who survived started new kingdoms the Scavengers had an uprising trying to take back the times before the Scorching. Any dragons surviving now were having a very hard time, these time periods were basically the downfall of the kingdoms. The dragons rallied together 200 years later and a war raged for years upon years, both sides trying to gain control, what's worse is that the scavengers had found anumis objects! It was a rough battle but 300 years later the dragons had almost eliminated the human race once again. But the dragons had little knowledge of the old great kingdoms, and nothing was formed again for hundreds of years. Until 400 years later when two groups of dragons were at war it forced dragons to take sides and with this grew the new kingdoms, many dragons salvaged anything they could from the years later this was a time of unsteady learning that lasted for 400 years until these developed into the kingdoms we know now.
Some advancements did stay from the old Golden Age, and many dragons hope there will be another Golden Age soon. The dragons have not advanced much in looks though, a few more spikes or markings here or there but nothing major like in the olden Mystery Age where Beetlewings turned into Silkwings and Hivewings ( Clearsight and Darkstalker time ). Luckily many of the tribes have retained the knowledge made in the Golden Age and that has given the dragons a boost from where you see them in the books, though not much, considering it took 5,000 years from the Scorching to get where the tribes are now and it's only been not that long from the last overthrow of the Scorching, oh and look everyone is in war yep we be repeating history!
Present Day:
Queen Kindle now rules the Skywings and has seriously weakened their defences and is basically just an irresponsible ruler. She is allied forcefully with the Rainwings and is allied with the Seawings.
Queen Jinx is ruler of the Rainwings and is turning them into a fighting force, she is allied with the rain wings and sea wings, secretly with the sand wings.
Queen Mirage is ruler of the Sandwings who are currently struggling to keep the kingdom together, and is only allied with the Silkwings.
Queen Thunderstorm is ruler of the Nightwings she is known to have pity of outsiders but very strict on her kingdom, she is allied with the Mudwings and Icewings
Queen Soul is ruler of the Icewings, she practically the leader of her allies and has recently been getting much wealth attacking the sand kingdom and the silk wings. Allied with the Mudwings and Nightwings
Queen Adobe is ruler of the Mudwings, she prefers to avoid the conflict and keep her kingdom hidden, she is allied with the icewings and nightwings
Queen Pearl is ruler of the Seawings and is currently quite wary of her allies, she along with the rest of her kingdom are getting sick of watching the games, she is allied with the skywings and rainwings.
Queen Fawn is ruler of the Silkwings, she has been desperately trying to fight for her beliefs but so far their side of the war is going sour, and is allied with only the Sandwings.
Queen Marigold is quite the ruler of the Hivewings, she is known to be dramatic, self absorbed and very hard to please. That's the price of living a spoiled life, allied with the Leafwings.
Queen Pansy ruler of the Leafwings is renowned for her healing skills, she is the oldest ruler by far and plans to stay ruler till she dies instead of retiring, she fears the day her daughters may take the throne, allied with the Hivewings.
