Amity POV

Amity awoke in her bed, and looked around her room. Smaller than the one she grew up in, her room at The Owl House never ceased to surprise her with how much more like home it felt. Here, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Here, she felt safe to be herself. Here, Amity felt at home.

She stood, and stretched, and looked at the picture on her nightstand of a particular human girl. Blue cat eared hood pulled over her head, and larger than life grin on her face. Amity smiled sadly at the picture, the memories flooding back. There wasn't a day that had gone by where she didn't think about Luz. Amity thought of the girl multiple times a day.

Even with 7 years having passed.

She took a deep breath, and got dressed for the day. She went to her closet and pulled her outfit then went to the bathroom, that was attached to her room, to shower. After drying her hair with a spell, she stood in front of the mirror in her room, taking in her appearance. A lot had changed these last 7 years.

For starters, Amity had grown her hair out quite a lot. It now reached down just above her ass, in a very messy and unkempt tangle. Additionally, her hair was finally back to the purple shade she had chosen. However, it had been well over a year (nearly two now) since she had last dyed it. So, her roots had gotten quite long. A few inches of auburn hair now protruded from her skull, before turning green.

She looked over her body in her reflection. Her body had changed quite a lot in the time that passed. She was now 21 years old, and had finished growing. She was taller now, standing roughly 5'5". Looking over herself, she took in her disheveled appearance. Her shoulders had widened a bit, but she had kept her slim figure over all. Her chest had grown somewhat, but was still small. She felt its size fit her stature quite well though, and was never upset with her smaller bust.

Her waist was slim, but her hips flared somewhat. A sure sign that she was a woman now. No longer a small toothpick like back in her freshman year, Amity had grown into her body well. Many people had hit on her, or asked her out. She attracted quite a number of witches and demons. However, she always provided them with a cruel and emphatic no. She now had kind of a reputation for being a frigid bitch, but she didn't care. Her heart belonged to a certain human. And it wasn't going to be given to anyone else.

The bracelets on her wrist jostled, grabbing her attention. They were not expensive jewelry that her mother once would have made her wear. Instead, they were tassels that were tied in messy knotts, tight enough that they would never come undone. She wore 7 on one wrist, and none on the other. Each one marked a year since she last saw Luz. Each one was made of something that reminded her of the human.

7 years ago, when the time altering spell occurred, Amity had gone with Eda to her shop she opened in the market. Eda claimed it was where Luz had first entered the demon realm. To both Amity and Eda's shock, they found the bag of objects that Luz had brought with her lying on the floor in the back room.

Sadly, it contained nothing leading them to the aforementioned human. Only the random objects that Luz had initially brought with her. After some time, and when none of her tracking spells worked, Eda had given the pack to Amity to keep safe. Claiming that she trusted Amity to keep Luz's possessions safe more than she trusted herself.

Amity had done so, and kept the bag locked up safely in her room. But, that hadn't stopped her from going through it a few times now. Each year, on the anniversary of Luz's disappearance, Amity would go and find the bag, and select an object inside. She would take a pair of scissors, and cut something from that object, and make a new bracelet out of it. Then, enchant the bracelet to be unable to fray. She made sure that each one was safe, and would never tear or wear away. And, using magic, she would repair the item she stole the material from as well.

Two weeks ago, she had added the 7th one to her wrists. She looked at it sadly. This time, she had elected to take a portion of fabric from one of Luz's hoodies. She apparently had 2 cat hoodies. That way, she could always wear it, without having to worry about whether it was clean or not. Amity looked at the purple fabric, and brought her opposite hand to it, squeezing it tightly. Wishing it had the power to send her thoughts to Luz.

I am still looking for you. I will find you again. She silently promised, as she released the bracelet. She looked to the mirror again, and her eyes drifted to her abdomen, where her stomach was exposed from her undersized shirt. She looked at how toned her body had become. Before, when she first met Luz, she was pencil thin. She had kept her body weight low, as her mother had drilled into her how important it was to look proper and desirable for any potential suitors.

Now? Amity didn't care about what anyone thought about how she looked. She had put on some weight, though it wasn't the kind of weight one gained from excessive eating, or lack of exercise. It was muscle. She had become toned. In the years since Luz had vanished, Amity had turned into somewhat of a problem child. Her temper was even shorter than before, and she had started to act before thinking. It had led to many fights at school, and ended up with Bosha typically having a black eye.

Amity had gained muscle, that was for sure. Her arms and legs were slightly more girthy, and her stomach no longer looked like it was caving in on itself. Now, it was flat, and had the slightest bits of definition to it, that showed that she was no pushover.

She didn't need to show off any more, especially since she graduated 3 years ago. She hadn't wanted to, but Eda, Lilith and her Father had stressed how important it was. Lilith finally convincing her by stating that if Amity could get through school, she would obviously learn more, and it would help when they one day found and rescued Luz.

At that, she conceded.

Lilith had moved into The Owl House too. Wanting to keep as many people together and safe as possible, Lilith had elected to join Eda in acting as a parental figure to the many younger witches in the house.

Amity sighed as she heard her father's voice echo through The Owl House, calling her downstairs for breakfast.

Right. Her father was still in her life. Something she was happy for.

Eventually, he too, moved into The Owl House. Acting as a third mentor to the many kids living there, and to help out with finances. After all, he came from a very rich family. Despite splitting with Odalia, he still had plenty of funds, and was able to continue his business selling Abomination Guards. Although, he never sold to anyone loyal to the Emperor.

Amity broke free from her memories as she heard a knock on her door. Taking a hair tie, she called out for the person knocking to enter, as she put her hair into its usual half up half down style, completely unbrushed. She almost never bothered to brush it these days.

She turned to look and saw her father ender. He really didn't look all that different. "Good morning Mittens" He said cheerily, smiling at her. Amity smiled in return, and was glad that her father had come around now. She was glad he was in her life.

"Good Morning dad. What's up?" She responded, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, I was just coming to make sure you were up. Breakfast has been ready for some time, and I was worried you had overslept again. I need your help today at the workshop. I got a big order again, and need an expert's hand." He added with a smirk.

Amity huffed, glaring at him. Of course he would go for her weak point. She might not care as much about her image, but she was still a prideful person. And flattery was an easy way to win her over. She dropped her glare and laughed lightly, in which her father joined in as well.

"Of course. I would be happy to provide that assistance. After all, if you need an expert to help you, then I can't really say no, can I? Considering I am the only one around" She added, sticking her tongue out at him. He just simply laughed and waved for her to follow him.

"Come and eat with me, I can explain more if you want. Or, we can just visit and chat." He replied, heading down the stairs.

Amity turned and followed him, turning to head down the hall and to the stairs he was on. The house was much larger than it had been when Luz was living here. The many new rooms, and other facilities that were required had led to quite the renovation. Almost all of the rooms had their own bathroom now, or at the least, shared between just two rooms. Only Eda's room really had its own private bathroom. Something about being the owner of the house or something else.

Amity didn't care. She got enough privacy, and really wouldn't have minded sharing with more people. After all, most homes had only one bathroom. It was some human thing that Eda picked up from the human realm. She still took frequent visits, to gather new things, and to talk with Luz's mother.

Since Luz had turned back time, the portal door had been restored. And, to everyone's surprise, Luz's spell had transcended the realms limits, and affected the human realm, and her mom too. Time there had been turned back as well, but surprisingly, Camilia Noceda and Vee both still had their memories.

That had been a rough day. It was only a week after Luz had vanished, when Eda found the portal key inside her hair. How she hadn't noticed it sooner and baffled Amity to no end. When they found a very exhausted and confused Camilia literally camping in a tent outside the ruined house that the portal connected to, everyone was shocked to say the least. And the sobs that came from the woman rivaled even Amity's own.

Camilia had elected to stay in the human realm, and simply helped gather anything that they could need to help Luz. After all, none of them really understood the human realm. Having someone that lived there help out was a huge help.

As if her thoughts had summoned it, Amity was startled to hear the magical banging sounds of the Portal Door opening in the living room right next to her as she walked past. It opened, and Eda walked in, carrying a bag of something and waved to Amity, as she carried it past her into the basement. That room had been turned into something of a storage room for their gear, equipment and other things everyone had saved up to help when the day came.

Amity laughed as Eda all but fell down the stairs, before turning to continue towards the kitchen, to eat breakfast. She sat at the table, and took the plate her father had passed to her. Amity smiled at the dish. It was her favorite, Demon Cakes. Something Luz had once called "A muffin with a dark aura." Amity had laughed at that, and the memory brought a smile to her face now. Enough time had passed that the thought of Luz no longer brought her to tears.

She still missed the human, there was no mistaking that. Especially with how her heart still felt broken and like it was missing a part of it, 7 years later. Instead, she had learned to simply look forward to the day they could be reunited. Amity smiled softly as she ate her breakfast.

She and her dad made small talk, chatting about work, and about other things happening in their lives. Alador Blight still mostly just worked on his inventions in his free time, but it no longer consumed him. He made sure to make time for his family now. He only worked extra after clearing it with everyone first. He never wanted to make anyone feel abandoned like he had his own children for so many years.

Amity and her father stood, and began to clean up after themselves. However, Amity quickly made short work of cleaning the table and the dishes with a flick of her wrists. Being a wild witch certainly had some perks, Amity mused.

The only three people in the house that had coven sigils were those that had them from before. That would be her father, Hunter and Lilith. The later two have the Emperor's Coven Sigils, letting them still do all forms of magic. Alador was the only one limited in what he could do. Something he made sure to grumble about whenever he could, like right now.

Amity chuckled to herself, listening to her fathers muffled complaints as he left the room and headed for the door, as he grabbed his staff. Amity called out for Ghost, smiling as the cat ran down the stairs and into her arms. Having to wait a few months to get Ghost back had been one of the hardest parts for Amity. A palisman and their master share a special bond. And even though Ghost didn't seem to remember much from before the spell, the bond they had made seemed to still exist. As the moment their eyes locked, Ghost had sprinted to rejoin with Amity, surprising both Principal Bump and The Bat queen.

As they approached the door, it instead opened on its own, Hooty looking in, and letting out a shrill "DING DONG" as he did so, making Amity's skin crawl. She still hated the damn thing most days. However, as she looked outward, she was surprised to see Gus and Willow bent over, hands on their knees, panting and gasping for air.

"Get everyone! Quick!" Gus exclaimed between breaths.

"We got a lead!" Willow added, as she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

Amity felt a flutter of hope in her chest, but squashed it. They had many leads before, all seemed hopeful, but it always led to nothing. She smiled at the two witches sadly.

"Thanks guys, but I doubt this one will be any different. It's probably just Tibbles trying to scam Eda again."

"Or it's Warden Wrath trying to get Eda to go out with him again." her father added, with a slight chuckle.

However, the two witches outside, stepped in, having caught their breaths enough to properly speak now, and shook their heads. "You don't understand" Gus said, his expression was one Amity had not seen in a long time, and suddenly her heart went into overdrive as she realized what the two were saying.

"Amity... We are certain it's real this time." Willow said, an excited smile on her face, as she looked Amity in the eye.

"It's Luz. We think we found her."
